@Jakiboy
With a lot of older games not being re-released on modern consoles, there will always be a demand for spiritual successors. No, not all games that try to capture that yesteryear's essence are as good as the originals but don't let nostalgia rob you of the joy that some of these titles can bring you. And you're always free to ignore these releases

Re: Poll: What Did You Think Of The February 2021 Nintendo Direct, Then?

Overall a decent presentation because there was something cool there for everybody. Almost...everybody. I'm hard to please.

My biggest surprise was with Skyward Sword HD. For the longest time I was convinced that it wouldn't be technically possible for the Joycons to do the same job as the Wiimote and nunchuck. But, Nintendo seems to have faith in it, and that's saying something. I'm still a bit skeptical though.

Re: Feature: What Does Nintendo Have Planned For Zelda’s 35th Anniversary?

The chance of Skyward Sword coming to the Switch is almost impossible imo.

1. Motion control in SS uses the gyroscope AND the infrared sensor for aiming. The Joycon can't do both at the same time like a Wiimote. The cursor aiming in SS needs to be accurate and a gyroscopic controlled cursor isn't. Look at Mario Galaxy on the Switch. The cursor needs to be recentered every few seconds. It wouldn't work.

2. If the motion controls were to be ditched (like many people are hoping for) then the game would have to be fundamentally redesigned. Combat AND puzzles. Not only would this be a HUGE undertaking that Nintendo probably isn't willing to do, it would also completely change the character and charm of the game.

A possible hardware solution could be a specially designed Joycon rail attachment with a forward facing infrared sensor and reintroducing a sensor bar like the one supplied with the Wii.

Re: Poll: Do You Play Your Switch More In Docked Or Handheld Mode?

I play long sessions and my hands tend to cramp up when I play in handheld mode. So, docked + pro controller.

Never gonna happen, but I would prefer Nintendo made a small home console. The savings on the portable casing, integrated controllers, battery and the display could go to better performance. Imagine a small console with a Tegra chip based on Ampere with DLSS 2.0 support and 8GB of GDDR5 for €/$ 300 or less

Re: Super Mario 3D All-Stars Will Launch With A Day-One Update

I saw a review on the YT channel GameXplain. All three games have a number of small bugs. Nothing game braking and mostly too small to even notice, but still. Also some changes from the originals which might not be appreciated by veterans. Like the aiming controls for FLUDD being inversed and no option to change it back. This patch could address these things.
