Guardian Stalkers in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild are something you're taught to fear from the beginning.
Early on in Link's adventure, the natural instinct is to turn around and run - or at least duck for cover - before one of these ancient machines shoots you down with its long-distance laser beam attack. Eventually, you get to the point in the game where you're properly equipped (and skilled enough, for that matter) to take these things down.
Some players, who never really stopped playing Breath of the Wild, have been honing their skills for years and are now masters of the game. Naturally, they no longer fear Guardians. One individual, by the name of @Axk_000 over on Twitter, recently uploaded the following Guardian kill clip and it's blown up within the Zelda community. Here it is in all its glory:
At the time of writing, this clip has got nearly 90k Likes and has been retweeted more than 30k times. A lot of viewers are also noting how impressive it is that the player just walks away from the explosion (without looking at it). Here are a few of the reactions:
"you just absolutely destroyed that thing with style. And that walk at the end after the explosion, such disrespect! This is amazing and probably one of my favorite botw vids now."
"This is one of those times in which having no idea what's going on makes it impressive, yet knowing exactly what he's doing makes it even more impressive"
What do you think? Is this the greatest Guardian kill you've ever seen in Breath of the Wild? Or at least one of the best? Share your thoughts down below.

Some people definitely have too much time
I don't even understand what just happened.
@mariomaster96 Some people definitely have too much time
Definitely and I applaud them keep doing it....
Slow motion walk at the end and it's perfect
Flawless! Perfection
Cue up: Deep Purple: Smoke on the Water intro, LOL
Links last name is Wick, confirmed.
Tweet OP used the infinite Daruk's Protection trick; DP will still be in effect for 0.1 seconds or 3 frames after lowering your shield (release ZL), and that won't cost one use. That's how they managed the first counter. Then there's the bullet time bounce (BTB), finishing off with Good Guys Don't Look at Explosions. Impressive!
Guardian Kill of the week?
Doing that shield surfing flip parries the guardian beam? That's so wild. (edit: thanks for clarifying below HDAA 😉)
Looks like I can sell my game now, there's no way I can face another Guardian with this competition.
@WoomyNNYes It doesn't, but Daruk's Protection (without actually summoning him) did it. See above post.
That's what it feels like when I try to play an online fighting game.
Me being the guardian of course.
I love that people are still invested in this game. I have so many games and so much backlog I cant even look at Zelda anymore.
I don’t even know what a guardian stalker is, but that was still impressive.
SSS Smokin Sexy Style kill right there
most impressive, the way he walks away.
Damn. When you think ''I'm pretty good at this game'' and then see this kind of stuff making you feel like a newbie.
@Justaguest
such a great game, it still is even after 3 years.
When chuck norris enters a game, this is what happends.
This whas almost like watching an anime movie lol.
@PALversusNTSC
I started from the beginning again, and it still is the greatest game this day to me.
A guy playing high end games on pc lol.
So this is what happens when you use an ancient arrow in slow motion.
Link taking put his anger on an unsuspecting guardian for being called zelda for 30 years
When you can do stuff like that you know for a fact you have played the game to much.
love this game
@HADAA I know all of the words you used, but have none of the understanding...
In all honesty, in this case, knowing the tricks behind it doesn’t just demystify it for me, it actually ruins it. The “infinite Daruk trick” (which I’d never heard of before) kinda feels like cheating to me. It’s exploiting a glitch or bug that wasn’t intended. Pushing the game’s physics to breaking point is one thing, but that’s something else, directly opposed to the game designers’ intentions.
Admittedly it probably takes a thousand times more skill to pull off, and is therefore impressive for a whole other reason. And still looks freaking incredible.
@mariomaster96 Jelly? lol
Overkill always makes me laugh for some reason. 🤣
Just replace Mega Man with Link in this video and you're golden.
@HADAA Thanks for clarifying. In the case, I purposely didn't read it, because I usually media-blackout BOTW exploitations I don't know why I don't want to know exploitations & glitches for BOTW, but that's how I've been with this game.
There is a time and place for overkill and that was it.
@Savino I think Florida would be more appropriate. 🤣
That guy need a life!
Whoa - equal parts hilarious and awe-inspiring.
I pity them fool guardians. I pity them!!
I only killed one of these things in my whole playthrough, and it sure didn't look llthat impressive.
Someone's got too much (clap clap) time on their hands. Hopefully someone gets that reference.
In all seriousness, though, as impressive as this is, I'll just stick with shield-bashing their laser beam back at them.
And you will know my name is Link when I lay my vengeance upon you!
It would be even better if you didn't have to into menus constantly
Oh yeah with style that was a waste of time to do it. Unlike me l don't need to do fancy kills, l just do 3 hits and its dead. This kind of over do stuff is what my brother likes to do xD
Yooo looks like someone leaked Robbie's gameplay in age of calamity
And here I am, three and a half years of playing this game, still struggling to get the timing of the flurry rush and the shield parry right
Way too much unnecessary moves. This is better:

Thank you for posting that clip: wow, super impressive! I almost, almost feel sorry for that guardian!
@MrBlacky Very nice. Ending was off a little because you couldn't see all three. And while there was an impressive couple moves... I mean, it was much less interesting and exciting to watch than this one, and kind of overtly showy/braggy, in comparison.
Looked like an anime battle...with a bit of Western slow walk explosion in the end.
That's what's truly awesome about this game, how its systems work so well and have so much flexibility that you can truly make the gameplay your own.
I honestly didn’t know you could kill them.
Just goes to show how insanely deep and exploitable BOTWs mechanics are. Most games WISH their mechanics and physics could be this deep.
Nintendo is truly in a Masterclass of their own
I still can't parry the stupid laser with even a 50% success rate. Ugh
It really feels like they wanted to have this game be more like one of the Arkham games or something, but just way more anime based and crazy. Maybe they will be happy with a fix of Age of Calamity.
I played through BotW, but I have never defeated one of the free moving Guardians. It was panic&run every time!
@Axlroselm says the one commenting on a video game thread
@MrBlacky I liked this more it was more skillful
@MrBlacky Now that one was impressive. I much preferred it to the the silly one in the article.
@MrBlacky Agree with the others, this one is way better. Requires skill but looks effortless and super stylish. The one in the article is just kind of exploiting the mechanics. I get that, but for me it takes away a lot of what makes the game appealing so just isn't as impressive.
this is some matrix crap right there
