By far most gamers think that Nintendo's pricing for remasters isn't "fair". But Nintendo knows that we are willing to fork out the cash anyway... As for me, I'll wait for DKC Returns and Luigi's Mansion 2 to go on offer in one of those very occasional Nintendo "ever green IP" 30% off sales. So in at least a year from now.
Keighley will never loose his cringe. Even his inexperienced hosts/presenters fare better than him.
The show itself was the usual diatribe of vomit inducing, high-octane, mostly CGI trailers. The excessive amount of noise and flashy imagery gave me a litteral headache.
I really don't understand who this show caters too anymore. Gamers are NOT being informed and increasingly being annoyed and alienated. It's mostly about he publishers and sponsors now.
And the streaming quality on YT was appalling!!! I watched it in true (according to the "nerd stats") 2160p on my 65 inch TV, but it looked more like up-ressed 720p. Why even bother watching the live show? Just watch it afterwards and quickly skip to the more interesting parts. The trailers of interest will be online in high quality only a few minutes later.
In short, the "SGF '24 presentation was just another disaster. Just quit it Keighley...please (?)
Cease-and-desist notice incoming. The dev probably only made this for his resume. He is right. Stirring up some controversy in order to get noticed. And not just by Nintendo. He seems very talented and I wish him the best.
I normally don't like turn-based games, but Sea of Stars was the first game of this type that I actually liked. I've hesitated a long time but I think that I'll probably like Paper Mario TTYD too. Going out to buy it right now.
TotK didn't give me that same sense of wonder as BotW did. TotK introduced lots of new features and a modest amount of improvements, but it feels more like a huge BotW expansion than a completely new game.
@Divide_and_Wander I'm likely older than you, since my daughters have become young adults. But I fondly remember introducing them to my passion for gaming and my favorite retro games. I wish you two so much fun and personal bonding.
@Serpenterror
Lol. Fallout fans could NOT disagree with you more. FO76 is pretty much discarded and ignored by most people, but FO3 and NV are absolute classics and very much loved.
With Microsoft Gaming (division) apparently being strapped for cash at the moment, releasing older titles like FO3 and NV on Switch would seem like a very good idea.
For me personally, I prefer these types of games on PC. For mods and K+M support.
I've been playing demo's. Pepper Grinder, Dave the Diver, Europa and Fallen Leaf. The last mentioned one was the most fun and I can't wait for that game to get a Switch release.
Cozy and fun game. It runs okay-ish on PS5. Definitely could use some more optimizing, but the dev seems to be satisfied... Curious to see the downgrades needed to make this game run on Switch. I'm hoping to be pleasantly surprised, but not counting on it.
Mario Wonder. I'm in world 6 I think(?) Deep Magma something. A couple of stages every day. That's it... I don't understand how people list not just 2 or maybe 3 games, but up to a dozen. I just have to ask; How do you keep track of it all? How do you even have the time to play that much?
I've been working. But I've been able to clear a couple of stages in Yooka Laylee and the Impossible Lair. This game is so much more fun than the first one.
Nier Replicant I'm about 4 hours in. The combat is fun and the overworld looks kind of nice. But the dialogs are so long winded and the voice acting is a bit annoying. I'm really into the soundtrack though.
Nintendo is seemingly not reinventing the wheel here. If the new Switch is only a hardware upgrade with a couple of features tacked on, then they should just go with Nintendo Switch 2.
Dotemu has already done an excellent job with Streets of Rage 4. Sega shouldn't "hurt themselves" by trying to top that. A new Golden Axe game could be fun though. But again, I would like Dotemu to make it.
You can't skip to the good parts in a live stream, so no need to stay up for it. I'll watch in the morning. By that time the 4K trailers will have been published.
There aren't many Microsoft exclusive games that interest me. If MS Game Pass were to come to Switch, I would maybe sign up and occasionally activate my subscription for one month in order to play specific games. The same way I use my Netflix account.
Playing nothing. Feeling a bit lethargic. Recovering from a knee operation, so not working this week and the next. And that's what's doing me in. I need to work/feel useful in order to justify my free time and to enjoy it.
@GreenNinja500 If the thumb sticks feel like the ones on Sony's DS5, then we have a winner. In my opinion, they feel too loose on the Nintendo pro controller.

Know that this year is awesome because so many game development projects got delayed due to Covid and they're only now releasing. I don't think that next year and onwards will be that great. Playing nothing. Anyone else has (had) the feeling of really wanting to play a game, but eventually not feeling up to it? That's where I'm at. Wishing you all a nice weekend nonetheless.

I'm not missing the point, I'm making one. And you're missing mine.
Re: The Legend Of Zelda: Echoes Of Wisdom Estimated Switch File Size Revealed
@DTfearTheBEARD
Why? Even 256GB SD cards are dirt cheap nowadays. They literally cost less then one indie game on sale.
Re: Nintendo Showcases All June 2024 Direct Games With Colourful New Graphic
Why can't NL post this graphic themselves? It shouldn't be necessary to click on an X link.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (1st June)
Working double shifts today and tomorrow, so little time to play. Dredge is free on PSN. I'll give that game a quick try.
Re: LEGO Unveils 'Great Deku Tree 2-In-1' Zelda Set, Pre-Orders Now Available
@sanderev
Agreed. But Lego has always been expensive. My parents weren't able to afford the biggest kits for my birthdays, 35-40 years ago.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (18th May)
Working two 12 hour shifts.... But luckily, Super Mario Land is very short. Really happy to be able to play this game again.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (11th May)
Finishing up Jusant and maybe starting Cocoon.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (4th May)
Little time. Working a lot. I'll play Wave Race 64 when I get home. My go-to game to unwind.
Re: Talking Point: Would You Want To Reuse Your Joy-Con On 'Switch 2'?
Don't really care. I only play docked with the pro controller.

Playing Jusant on PS5. Yes, only one game...

Re: Soapbox: Vanillaware's Most Underrated Game Is More Than Just A Pretty Picture
Really a stunning game. I had it on the Wii but didn't finish it. Jumping is done by pressing up on the d-pad. And impossible to remap. Annoying!
Re: 3DS And Wii U Users Say Goodbye To Online Play
Bring out the modding kits.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (23rd March)
Finishing Mario Wonder. Maybe starting a replay of Link Between Worlds. Lately I've been missing this charming game.
Re: Tropical Open World Adventure 'Tchia' Glides Onto Switch This Summer

Re: Gallery: You Lovely People Have Been Photoshopping Our Video Producer Into Games
I like the Contra/Probotector artwork the best I guess.
Re: Nintendo Expands Switch Online's Game Boy & GBC Library With Three More Mario Titles
@tektite_captain
Super Mario Land is pretty sweet indeed! So much nostalgia. Especially with it's soundtrack.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (March 9th)
Too little time to play. Working mostly. I'm listening a lot to game soundtracks though. Right now Valheim and Horizon Zero Dawn.
Re: Hand-Drawn Adventure 'Bo: Path Of The Teal Lotus' Launches On Switch This July
This game looks absolutely stunning. But I'm not good at fast paced and/or very precise gameplay.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (February 17th)
Mario Wonder. Playing this on a HUGE tv is truly a treat.

Re: Feature: The Stunning Visual Delights Of 'El Shaddai', Inspired By Apple iPod Commercials
So it's FINALLY coming to Switch... It's a very niche game, but I love it. Played it on PS3
Re: Talking Point: What Will The 'Switch 2' Actually Be Called?
Nintendo is seemingly not reinventing the wheel here. If the new Switch is only a hardware upgrade with a couple of features tacked on, then they should just go with Nintendo Switch 2.
Re: Talking Point: What Game Do You Wish You Could Forget?
Easy! All Zelda games. Let me forget them right now and start all over. If only that was possible. Also the Bioshock games and Horizon Zero Dawn
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (December 9th)
1080° Snowboarding. Man...what a blast from the past! So many good memories of this game and Wave Race 64.

Re: Talking Point: Would You Like To See A Professor Layton Collection On Switch?
" No way! I never liked this series and don't want to see it spoil my precious Switch library"
That's putting it a bit extreme, isn't it?
How about; "I'm not interested in this series" ?
Re: Random: Mario And Luigi Have Spin Jump Control Preferences In Super Mario Galaxy
This is so random...Why program in this difference and not tell it to gamers?
Yeah Nintendo. Gamers want Galaxy 2 and you know it! What's the holdup?
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (November 25th)
I only played demo's on Switch and PS5. And trying out smaller games that are included in PS+ Premium.

Re: Talking Point: If 'Switch 2' Is Backwards Compatible, What Will You Do With Your Switch?
I'll pass mine to my daughter. I already promised her. She'll only play Animal Crossing on it

Re: 8BitDo Reveals Its New 'Ultimate C' Bluetooth Controller, Compatible With Switch
Very tempting... like with many of their controllers...

The original SMB3 has my heart because of the memories it created. I played this version so much with my childhood friend.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (October 14th)
Playing nothing. Just walking, sleeping and vibing to good music. Being completely alone is so wonderful and sometimes necessary. Like now.
