Cozy and fun game. It runs okay-ish on PS5. Definitely could use some more optimizing, but the dev seems to be satisfied... Curious to see the downgrades needed to make this game run on Switch. I'm hoping to be pleasantly surprised, but not counting on it.
Mario Wonder. I'm in world 6 I think(?) Deep Magma something. A couple of stages every day. That's it... I don't understand how people list not just 2 or maybe 3 games, but up to a dozen. I just have to ask; How do you keep track of it all? How do you even have the time to play that much?
I've been working. But I've been able to clear a couple of stages in Yooka Laylee and the Impossible Lair. This game is so much more fun than the first one.
Nier Replicant I'm about 4 hours in. The combat is fun and the overworld looks kind of nice. But the dialogs are so long winded and the voice acting is a bit annoying. I'm really into the soundtrack though.
Nintendo is seemingly not reinventing the wheel here. If the new Switch is only a hardware upgrade with a couple of features tacked on, then they should just go with Nintendo Switch 2.
Dotemu has already done an excellent job with Streets of Rage 4. Sega shouldn't "hurt themselves" by trying to top that. A new Golden Axe game could be fun though. But again, I would like Dotemu to make it.
You can't skip to the good parts in a live stream, so no need to stay up for it. I'll watch in the morning. By that time the 4K trailers will have been published.
There aren't many Microsoft exclusive games that interest me. If MS Game Pass were to come to Switch, I would maybe sign up and occasionally activate my subscription for one month in order to play specific games. The same way I use my Netflix account.
Playing nothing. Feeling a bit lethargic. Recovering from a knee operation, so not working this week and the next. And that's what's doing me in. I need to work/feel useful in order to justify my free time and to enjoy it.
@GreenNinja500 If the thumb sticks feel like the ones on Sony's DS5, then we have a winner. In my opinion, they feel too loose on the Nintendo pro controller.
@MarioLinkSamus
Know that this year is awesome because so many game development projects got delayed due to Covid and they're only now releasing. I don't think that next year and onwards will be that great. For all the great games that were a released this year, the same amount of stinkers exist. LegacykillaHD on Youtube explains it well. Copy/paste 4RlhcTjxCPw in the search bar. It's the first result.
Playing nothing. Anyone else has (had) the feeling of really wanting to play a game, but eventually not feeling up to it? That's where I'm at. Wishing you all a nice weekend nonetheless.
@anoyonmus It would make sense if the original was ported first in fact. And Dark Moon a little later. There are many younger people who haven't played the first two games.
Sea of Stars on PS5. "Free" with PS Plus Premium. I'm working this weekend. So squeezing in a couple of hours of gaming here and there. But man....this game is AWESOME and so charming! And that's coming from someone who isn't usually into turn-based combat rpg's.
This game seems pretty big. I think I'll be playing it until and including next weekend.
Finally off from work this weekend. Just checking in for the gaming news. Playing nothing! Sleeping, BBQ-ing, joking and roughhousing with my daughters, sleeping more, eating more, sleeping even more. I'll get back to my gaming backlog next week. Have a good one everybody.
BTW: Having children isn't easy, but they are so awesome, enriching and rewarding!
@rushiosan I understand you. But I was a teenager when this game came out. And I finished it at least 50 times. This game and it's sequel have a huge significance for me. Well worth it's full price and the wait for it to get patched.
@PeteW For sure! I love it when new devs give homage to old IP's by remaking them. It requires a lot of them though. But I can't commend them enough for it!
@PeteW I see your point and you are right. The patches were needed to make the first Panzer Dragoon more playable. I also paid full price. From any bigger studio/publisher I wouldn't have accepted the state in which this game was released. But I'm a huge Panzer Dragoon fan....
Here's to hoping that Forever Entertainment have learned from their mistakes.
@theModestMouse
No appreciation.... Not your type of game? Fine! Don't like the looks, okay. But I dare you to spend that measly $2.50 and check out if your are right about your presumption, or not.
@rushiosan
Hey negative Nancy. Their first remake was patched to near perfection. Be glad that small devs like Forever Entertainment are willing to take on projects like these.
Panzer Dragoon Zwei, and we all know it! Even emailed the devs a couple of months ago and they confirmed that this game is in active development. I can hardly wait!
I'm in a "it's not you, it's me" phase in my life. New games hardly excite me anymore. I prefer the retro ones, slowly clearing my 10 year old backlog or indies. SMB Wonder looks like fun. But I'll get it on it's first 30% off sale.

Like I've mentioned to @Takoda, I think the more story driven and linear types of games are the ones I prefer from now on. TotK is still amazing though!

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (23rd March)
Finishing Mario Wonder. Maybe starting a replay of Link Between Worlds. Lately I've been missing this charming game.

Re: Gallery: You Lovely People Have Been Photoshopping Our Video Producer Into Games
I like the Contra/Probotector artwork the best I guess.
Re: Nintendo Expands Switch Online's Game Boy & GBC Library With Three More Mario Titles
@tektite_captain
Super Mario Land is pretty sweet indeed! So much nostalgia. Especially with it's soundtrack.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (March 9th)
Too little time to play. Working mostly. I'm listening a lot to game soundtracks though. Right now Valheim and Horizon Zero Dawn.
Re: Hand-Drawn Adventure 'Bo: Path Of The Teal Lotus' Launches On Switch This July
This game looks absolutely stunning. But I'm not good at fast paced and/or very precise gameplay.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (February 17th)
Mario Wonder. Playing this on a HUGE tv is truly a treat.
Re: Nintendo Will Offer "Unique Proposals" To Overcome Challenges Of Platform Transitions

Re: Feature: The Stunning Visual Delights Of 'El Shaddai', Inspired By Apple iPod Commercials
So it's FINALLY coming to Switch... It's a very niche game, but I love it. Played it on PS3
Re: Talking Point: What Will The 'Switch 2' Actually Be Called?
Nintendo is seemingly not reinventing the wheel here. If the new Switch is only a hardware upgrade with a couple of features tacked on, then they should just go with Nintendo Switch 2.
Re: Talking Point: What Game Do You Wish You Could Forget?
Easy! All Zelda games. Let me forget them right now and start all over. If only that was possible. Also the Bioshock games and Horizon Zero Dawn
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (December 9th)
1080° Snowboarding. Man...what a blast from the past! So many good memories of this game and Wave Race 64.

Re: Talking Point: Would You Like To See A Professor Layton Collection On Switch?
" No way! I never liked this series and don't want to see it spoil my precious Switch library"
That's putting it a bit extreme, isn't it?
How about; "I'm not interested in this series" ?
Re: Random: Mario And Luigi Have Spin Jump Control Preferences In Super Mario Galaxy
This is so random...Why program in this difference and not tell it to gamers?
Yeah Nintendo. Gamers want Galaxy 2 and you know it! What's the holdup?
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (November 25th)
I only played demo's on Switch and PS5. And trying out smaller games that are included in PS+ Premium.

Playing nothing. Feeling a bit lethargic. Recovering from a knee operation, so not working this week and the next. And that's what's doing me in. I need to work/feel useful in order to justify my free time and to enjoy it.
Re: Talking Point: If 'Switch 2' Is Backwards Compatible, What Will You Do With Your Switch?
I'll pass mine to my daughter. I already promised her. She'll only play Animal Crossing on it

Very tempting... like with many of their controllers...

Re: Talking Point: Which Version Of Super Mario Bros. 3 Do You Prefer?
The original SMB3 has my heart because of the memories it created. I played this version so much with my childhood friend.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (October 14th)
Playing nothing. Just walking, sleeping and vibing to good music. Being completely alone is so wonderful and sometimes necessary. Like now.

Re: Soapbox: What Do You Do When Nintendo Ticks Off Your ENTIRE Most-Wanted List?
My ENTIRE most wanted list consists of only Wind Waker HD and Twilight Princess HD on Switch.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (September 30th)
Continuing Sea of Stars, but just a couple of checkpoints. Working the rest of the time.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (September 16th)
Continuing Sea of Stars. Never thought an RPG with turn-based combat could get me hooked, but I am! This game is so charming and fun!

It would make sense if the original was ported first in fact. And Dark Moon a little later. There are many younger people who haven't played the first two games.
Re: Poll: Who Will You Be Playing As In Super Mario Bros. Wonder?
Mario or Luigi. But others depending on their specific qualities and the levels favoring them.

Re: It's "More Difficult Than Ever" To Collaborate With Nintendo, Claims Picross Developer Jupiter
I saw the picture and was hoping for Zelda TP to be re-released on Switch. Hopes dashed 3 seconds later.
Re: The Legend Of Zelda: Oracle Of Seasons & Oracle Of Ages - Which Should I Play First?
@Seraphmoon
Yes!, using the same engine as Link's Awakening. But sold as a bundle.
Re: Castlevania Advance Collection Scores A Physical Switch Release, Pre-Orders Live
Why not port the "Lords of Shadows" games? Especially "Mirror of Fate" would be easy to port, and I love that game.

Zelda TotK I guess? I'm so jaded by gaming at the moment.
Edit: The comment and energy of @Anti-Matter above me, contrasted so nicely to my comment. LOL. Good for you bud. Have fun!

Re: Nintendo Infographic Showcases The Games Featured In June's Direct
I'm in a "it's not you, it's me" phase in my life. New games hardly excite me anymore. I prefer the retro ones, slowly clearing my 10 year old backlog or indies. SMB Wonder looks like fun. But I'll get it on it's first 30% off sale.
Re: 'Quake II Remastered' Rated Ahead Of QuakeCon 2023

Indeed, these games would run very well on the Switch. But I doubt that Bethesda would release them physically. The base game of Fallout 3 alone would require a 8GB card. The GOTY edition wouldn't fit at all. Same for New Vegas.
Re: Feature: Our Predictions For The June 2023 Nintendo Direct
