Shouldn't they be calling it 'XXX - Triple Cross'? Seeing how it'll be an upgraded version of XX, which was an upgrade of X?
Seriously though, this is pretty much the biggest thing any dev could announce for Japan, save Pokémon (which will inevitably come). Coupled with MK8D and Splatoon 2, Switch will be sold out for the rest of the year in Japan.
So... What exactly is the available extra power used for, if the docked visuals are going to be the same as when undocked? Surely they won't just ignore and not use it...?
I'm willing to bet serious money the undocked version will run at a sub-720p resolution.
Well Nintendo are doing the same in Japan with Splatoon 2's game case, selling it without the actual physical game, but a download code instead. For people who want the convenience of digital downloads, but like to have physical cases on their shelves. Makes sense, really.
This looks pretty cool, glad to see some Advance Wars love! I'll keep an eye on this, although for now, War Groove looks more intriguing and fun to me. :]
Patreon is a good initiative, but it breaks down once people get too many backers. I'm pretty sure guys like this aren't spending 34,000 Dollars a MONTH to get their crappy emulator up and running. Same goes for tons and tons of other people being backed by Patreon.
It's fantastic for creators struggling to get by and fund their projects, but once they start raking in tens of thousands of Dollars a month, it's just stupid.
Meh. 2 hours is still very long. :/ I'd hoped for something akin to MK8's voting system for selecting levels. Ah well, at least it's an improvement. I'd still like to know what the reason is for these limitations.
Not interested in the slightest whatsoever in this game, but that new Pikmin amiibo looks neat and I want it. Too bad Nintendo will only manufacture about 17 of them. Still, that's better than the 16 Breath of the Wild amiibo they put out.
Oh nice! I actually always thought ALL stats rounded down, not just acceleration. Never understood why they'd have increments at all, if they rounded it all down anyway.
@Snader Well it's really a glitch I think, because there've been plenty of opened chests where I got no response, just every now and then it'll keep beeping after I opened one. Luckily a quick save and reload fixes it, but still terribly annoying...
I hope today's update also fixes the problem where the Sheikah Slate would keep beeping if you were tracking treasure chests and also erroneously respond to chests that had already been opened. That drives me mad!
There's also an update out apparently, which allows you to change the voices separately from the game's subtitles! @samuelvictor Yeah it's for Wii U as well, although there you'll also need to download some sort of 'voice pack' thing from the eShop apparently. But you can change it whenever you want!
This all sounds much better than I was expecting! Shame your path will 'only' be tracked over 200 hours; I'm nearing that mark and nowhere close to finishing the game!
Eh... I think it looks weird. What's with the awkward-looking green light bulb thing with Issun in it on her head? And with the weird flowery sushi stuff at the bottom? Also overall it just looks very plastic-y and toy-like, instead of some sort of statue. Just my opinions, though. I'm sure some fans will like it!
But, so... Where do these PC games that are being streamed come from, then? Don't you have to pay for them? Or own them? Are they pirated, or what? I get the streaming part, just not where they're being streamed from and how it can be free unless they're pirated games...?
Well... Good idea, obviously, but I hope they'd choose something a bit less... boring and basic. The whole thing seems a bit bland and boring like this, I'm sure they could come up with a much better pose.
7.2 million? How did they arrive upon such an arbitrary number? Not 7 or 7.5 million, but 7.2 million specifically. xD
Personally, I think it might sell more than that. 8 million should be reachable. I'm very curious to see Nintendo's forecast for the coming (fiscal) year!
Makes sense, however much people might dislike it. Switch is a runaway hit and positioned to do extremely well in the future, its Virtual Console is definitely coming, and NES mini would greatly undermine it. At 60 bucks for all those games it's extraordinarily cheap compared to the kind of money Nintendo could and will ask for the same games on Switch.
It's exactly like how in the GameCube's Animal Crossing you'd get free NES games, then in later versions that wasn't a feature because of the new Virtual Console feature on Wii etc. Why give it to people for cheap or free, when you can actually sell the same products for more? It makes complete business sense.
Why don't they simply give us the worldwide numbers and paint the whole picture? Yes US numbers are nice and interesting, but surely the total worldwide sales are much more important, and more importantly, higher. :/
The yellow looks cool, I like it. Battery packs for devices that already boast a 20-hour battery life, and need AA batteries to function, in 2017, is just beyond insane.
Man, Bayonetta 3 as a Switch exclusive would make sense on so many fronts. What with the 1st two games being on Wii U, the original boasting Nintendo-exclusive content, them funding and publishing the sequel, Bayonetta being in Smash and getting her own amiibo... Just totally logical. Just make it happen, Nintendo! All you need to do is fund it, there are really no excuses. People will gobble it up!
This is a clear case of bad optimization. The game was inherently badly optimized from the ground up, it would take a miracle (or an insanely huge load of work, which they wouldn't do for a port like this) to optimize it so it loads quickly. Remember, this is a very early Wii U open world game by a 3rd party developer; even Breath of the Wild has long loading times, and that's a 1st part Nintendo title (who are notorious for their extremely well-done programming and compression) that came out at the very end of Wii U's life. I wouldn't have expected Lego City to be much improved, especially seeing as it's now a port across several different systems (them being more powerful doesn't mean much in cases of bad optimization).
I actually was thinking this very thing last night when I downloaded Snake Pass with the system on and it didn't seem that speedy. Then I put it in sleep mode because I wanted to check if it kept downloading that way (didn't know if that was a feature), and to my surprise a few minutes later it had downloaded the game almost completely!
@Qun_Mang Yes when you hit X a message appears saying 'press + to skip'. This works for most cutscenes and was done in order to prevent people from accidentally skipping them (which is actually a good thing). There are some cutscenes where you don't have to press X, then +, but just the X button (I think it's when entering shrines, which you do a lot since there are 120 of them), so anyone who's played the game should know very well that pressing the X button skips cutscenes... I don't see how people wouldn't know this honestly, unless they never read any on-screen text.
@Sourcecode You can just skip the whole blood moon clip as soon as it starts you know... No need to sit through it if you don't want to. In fact this goes for most cutscenes, including the cooking one.
Well it can't have been a plot by Ganon because the Guardians and Divine Beasts were originally created and used to successfully defeat Ganon 10,000 years before Breath of the Wild. Then after all that time he returns and they try to beat him again using the same methods (this being 100 years before the start of the game where Link wakes up), only this time he knows about the Guardians and Divine Beasts so is he's prepared and able to take over all of them.
@NaviAndMii Well a week is pretty good, but that's the US right? I'm Dutch and I have no faith in Nintendo over here being quite as snappy about it, going by some past experiences I had with them.
So. This looks easily doable. I could do this no problem. Then again, does it actually fix the problem? The article doesn't state that.
I've encountered it myself and like I said, I could easily fix it like this myself, if the piece of foam is all it takes. No way I'm going to send in my Joy-Con and be without it for weeks.
It's not hard at all once you figure out how to do it properly. Simply dump all stuff you need into the water before setting foot on the island and collect it again after the trial starts.
Don't fight the Hinox but just glide onto his belly and grab the orb.
Take shelter by the fire under the rocky overhang close to the Hinox at night and skip to morning to avoid the incessant thunderstorms.
Those are the most important ones. Everything else, just be careful and take your time. And don't forget your runes as they're all still available. Should be pretty easy.
@Henmii He still works for Nintendo, but he's more directly involved with smaller projects now, instead of being the single main go-to guy for most of their games. Also he oversees, advises and manages a lot of others nowadays. Like much of the old guard at Nintendo actually, Miyamoto and Aonuma included.
How does one go about making a mistake like that? Does Alex sometimes accidentally put 'captured on PS4' in a video when recording, say, Breath of the Wild footage...?
@DanteSolablood Oh right, I agree, but I wasn't talking about limiting cloud saves to people who pay for online. Just that once people do start paying for online, Nintendo will have a ton of money dedicated to online services that they could use to improve said services, including cloud saves. Kimishima said they plan to charge between 20-30 dollars a year (roughly), so that'll likely easily be tens of millions of dollars we're talking about here.

Re: Nintendo Switch Standalone Dock Goes Up for Pre-Order on Amazon UK
These must have special top of the line anti-screen-scratching properties, that's why they're so expensive.

What about 3DS though? Surely that system could do with a few more stability updates!
Re: Poll: Are You Excited About Nintendo's E3 2017 Plans?
I just want them to have a few surprises. The lineup right now is very bare-bones, even with Arms, Splatoon 2 and Mario Odyssey.
Re: Nintendo Download: 11th May (Europe)
Holy moly, that's a lot of Minecraft DLC. Very pricey if you plan on getting that.
Re: The Official Standalone Switch Dock Arrives In Europe Next Month
I'd like one, although at a probable 99 Euros, it's going to be too expensive for me to pick one up anytime soon.
Re: Harvest Moon: Skytree Village Gets New Trailer Ahead of June EU Release

It's unfathomable to me why they didn't simply go with a cast of actual British actors. It's just so so weird.
Ah well, with the latest update, I can FINALLY just set the voices to Japanese and enjoy the game the way the creators intended. ^^

Also known as Mandrag Ganon.
As for Link, he can't have a set last name, because almost all Links are different and not all of them are related by blood.
This is of course different for Zelda, since every incarnation of her is of Hyrule's royal family. So she's always Zelda Hyrule.

@Yasume What, Asian? No. Russia is neither Europe nor Asia. It's Russia.
