Re: Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age Heading to the West in 2018

@Ryu_Niiyama Thanks for the novel. I know all that though. That does not change anything about the fact that some companies simply take an utterly excruciatingly long period of time to translate and localize their games, while others deliver similar games in a far more timely fashion. There's just no good reason for localization times of more than a year, however many excuses some people might be willing to come up with.

Why do these games takes so incredibly long to get localized? I mean, I understand there's obviously a fair amount of effort involved in the translation and localization process, and that these games are definitely text-heavy. But still, that's relative, I mean it's not like they're having an illiterate single scribe translate and manually write down an entire series of novels, and then do it all over again a few more times in different languages. Right?

There are plenty of devs who do worldwide simultaneous releases, but a few are notorious for being excruciatingly slow with this process, like Square-Enix (Capcom is another one) and I see no good reason for this. Delays of several weeks or even a few months would be understandable, but we're talking about timescales of up to and sometimes exceeding a year - that's just nonsense.

@Zach777 I never ever stated anywhere that the bible doesn't have an overarching theme or anything of the sort, at all, not even a tiny little bit, so please don't say that that I did.

I said it doesn't make any sense to me. And that's a fact, it doesn't make any sense. To me. My opinion.

Please refrain from putting words in my mouth and accusing me of things I didn't say, or even calling me a liar. Sheesh.

Re: eBay Is Trying But Struggling To Stop The Onslaught Of SNES Mini Scalpers

Nintendo is entirely 100% to blame for this imo. If they would just make sufficient stock, there would be zero problems in the first place. It's literally guaranteed to sell millions upon millions. People are beyond ready to give Nintendo their money. Same goes for basically all amiibo, especially the Zelda ones. It's not like severely limiting stock is doing Nintendo any good, at all, as they're not the ones profiting off of inflated retail and resellers' prices - they're guaranteed to sell every single unit they're able to put out anyway. :/ And that's not even talking about the terrible PR image, Nintendo's supply issues are a laughing stock worldwide, and have been for a long time.

Re: Dragon Ball FighterZ Could Come To Switch If The Demand Is There, Says Producer

@WaveBoy someone else's opinion being baffling to you doesn't equal them trolling. Opinions differ. I hear and read tons of things that I find completely baffling every day. Isnt it great we're all different?

The action-packed cinematic cutscenes and trailers look great - but I don't think the actual 2D gameplay does, and that looks like a mobile game, to me. A quality mobile game, maybe, but definitely a mobile game. You thinking it looks fantastic is fine, I honestly hope you'll very much enjoy the game, but I don't think it does, even if that doesn't make any sense to you. ✌

Re: Metroid Prime 4 Confirmed For Nintendo Switch, But Retro Studios Isn't Involved

Thierry

@IceClimbers Yeah I read that rumour. So that's actually bad news imo, 'cos it means Retro haven't been working on Prime 4 for the last 3.5 years, and the game is years away. If they couldn't show any footage, not even any concept art, but just a horribly copy-pasted logo, that tells us it won't be out for another 3 years at the least. These games take ages to develop.

Re: Thank Samus, Metroid Prime 4 Has Been Confirmed For Nintendo Switch

Thierry

Surely they could've shown some footage if this is Retro Studios' big project? They finished their last game (DKC Tropical Freeze) 3.5 years ago. :/ I mean... Not showing anything, just a logo? What the heck? Either Retro's been busy working on another game and they've just started development of Prime 4 alongside it, or this game's being done by some other studio. Either way, it's a LONG way off. I'm not expecting it until holiday 2019 at the very earliest.
