Wow. Switch sold about double what everything else combined sold. Nintendo's manufacturers must shudder to think of the orders they'll be asked to fulfill once Pokémon hits.
@modular Well, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, as they say. I like the way the Pro Controller looks. Also I'm over 30 and still own an original SNES... and this pad doesn't do anything for me.
At that price, might as well get an official Pro Controller from Nintendo, which gives you NFC functionality, HD rumble, a more ergonomic and robust grip, plus better superior layout and usability of buttons, sticks and triggers. Also, the guarantee it'll work perfectly without any lag or other unforseen problems. Sure this one is cheaper, but not by much.
There's a big difference between it outselling the Wii in the first year or so, and doing so with lifetime sales. Let's wait and see what the situation's like after 2 years or something.
Why don't these updates show prices in Euros? NL is a Europe-based website, right? I can understand the British Pounds being included, obviously, but why show US Dollars yet no Euros...?
Why does wanting expressive faces equal turning 90% of the cast into little kids and covering their spaghetti-limbs with giant buckles, zippers, physics-defying giant metal plates and awkwardly gigantic bewbs...?
Seriously - I liked the original Xenoblade a lot and X is one of my top 5 games of the last decade, having put close to 250 hours into it. This new game however simply does not interest me in the slightest, the art direction being a major factor in that.
And no, the original's art style was not like this at all, and also it has nothing to do with this being celshaded or not.
I've been brave enough to open up my left Joy-Con and fix the disconnection-issue, but not enough courage for an undertaking such as this... Although I did successfully replace the entire shell and all buttons of my old DS Lite years ago and gave it a neat blueish transparent look. ^^
Imo they can't afford not to have some form or online-based cloud backup, considering they're going to start charging for online next year, in combination with the portable nature of the Switch, which makes it more prone to being damaged or lost/stolen. Plus, it's not like these are cheap throwaway mobile apps, we're talking full-fledged AAA console games here.
That's very surprising, considering the plethora of outfits and prominent role they play in both this game and Breath of the Wild, plus the gargantuan amount of Legend of Zelda amiibo in existence.
However, random stuff like having a Diddy outfit while ignoring Donkey Kong, for example, gives me confidence there'll be more to come.
I wish Nintendo (and other publishers) gave out exact sales figures on a regular basis, including digital sales. Right now no one has any idea how high sales are - yes physical copies obviously give a good indication, but digital makes up a very substantial part of sales these days, which will only increase as time goes by.
I understand it's never been the norm to give out digital sales numbers, but it's 2017. I wish companies, and Nintendo especially, wouldn't be so overly secretive constantly. :/
It's hete already? I backed this way back when it was announced and still planned for Wii U. Sadly, that never happened, and as I don't own a gaming PC I thought I'd never get to play it. Until it was announced for Switch! But I had no idea it would be this soon, awesome! Although whoever planned the release date for this game must be been smoking something pretty strong... :'D
Too many hoops for me. Not that I have any time for this anyway, Switch's lineup is crazy... Also, whenever the app is officially released in your territory, you'll probably need to start all over again if you download that version, I'm guessing.
I've been a dedicated Zelda fan for about 20 years now, and I can confidently say that BOTW is far, far beyond anything I ever expected in my wildest, most optimistic dreams. It's on a whole new level.
So many great games. T_T I don't have the time! Wonderful how Nintendo's gone from 'no games' to this flood (pun intended) of quality software, both 1st and 3rd party!
I really really REALLY wish they'd include gyro controls. They're doing it for Skyrim, for crying out loud! Going by all the comments everywhere it's clear a very substantial portion of the Switch demographic for this game want gyro aiming to be in there, yet for some bizarre reason, Bethesda won't do it. :/ It's really a big sticking point for me, as well as a lot of others, apparently.
What about people not in the program who then proceed to stream a Nintendo game? Won't Nintendo simply claim 100% ad revenue? Or am I misunderstanding this?
I'm puzzled, because my Snake Pass icon is and has always been the old 'good' one. I got the game around the time it launched and I've had every single update on my Switch, and it's always connected online. Guess I'm just lucky.
Obviously they don't want the game to be buggy, especially considering the glitchy launch versions on PS4/Xbone/PC, and because it's going to be on the hardware of the one videogame company who is notorious for polishing their own games to the nth degree. Releasing a buggy port after such a long time would make them look very bad indeed. Good of them to take their time!
Well. DB Xenoverse looks neat and I'm interested in that, but that DLC, yikes. It's like a full-priced new game. :/ Any info on what the DLC actually contains and if it's worth it? I'm too lazy to go look it up.
I enjoyed the hell out of Goldeneye and Perfect Dark back in the day in N64, and those games ran at like sub-10 frames per second. This doesn't look like my type of game, but I'll probably buy it to see what it's like and to support it and future 3rd party incentives.
No gyro aiming is a very tragic missed opportunity though, it's so superior to dual analogs and I can't really go back after stuff like the Metroid Prime Trilogy, Splatoon and the likes...

Re: Bayonetta 3 is In Development and is a Switch Exclusive
Oh my. This is wonderful news! I wonder if Nintendo has a hand in funding the game's development, like with Bayonetta 2.
Re: Nintendo Switch Ends 2017 On A High With 2.5 Million Units Sold In Japan Alone
You can be sure Sony is taking notes and PS5, whatever form it will take, will be heavily influenced by this. Count on it.
Re: Pokémon, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and Nintendo Switch Lead the Way in Japanese Charts
Wow. Switch sold about double what everything else combined sold. Nintendo's manufacturers must shudder to think of the orders they'll be asked to fulfill once Pokémon hits.

@th3r3ds0x Yes, and don't forget the games will run off special proprietary discs.
Re: Nintendo Switch Hardware Sales Reach Another Level in Japan
Wowzers. Amazing. Sony will definitely be coming out with some form of hybrid sometime in 2019, no question.

Re: Analysis: Switch Drives Impressive Sales as Nintendo Delivers Q2 Profits
I think it's pretty obvious they're lowballing their projections for the fiscal year. :]
Re: Guide: Super Mario Odyssey amiibo Outfit Unlocks

Re: Nintendo's 'Close Call' Commercials Focus on Fantastical Switch Games
Bit weird to leave out Breath of the Wild, since, but then again Nintendo likely wanted to focus on newer games instead.

Re: Nintendo of America Boasts of Major Sales Success in September's NPD Results
Excellent! No doubt October through December will be even better. There's zero chance Switch won't come out on top of everything else this year.
Re: It's Not Just The Switch Which Received A Firmware Update Today
You need to manually update them? They don't do it automatically? Weird. :/
Re: Rumour: Keymailer Lists Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy for the Switch
Would be a great addition to Switch's library and a good fit for the system, too. Personally I'm not interested though.

Re: Hands On: RiME Lights Up On Nintendo Switch
How am I going to find the time to play this? Switch has too many games, Nintendo is doomed.

Re: Resident Evil Revelations 1 & 2 On Switch Make Use Of The Joy-Con IR Camera And amiibo
Gyro controls for aiming is always a very, very big plus! The other features, meh. Nice of them to include them but not interesting to me.

Re: L.A. Noire Is The Latest Game To Fall Foul Of The Dreaded "Switch Tax"
50 Dollars/Euros is definitely quite expensive for such an old game, new features or not.
