I agree, this could definitely be a good entry point to the education sector for Nintendo.
A lot of people also might not realise that these Toy-Con could easily be integrated into other games from Nintendo or different developers too. They could be used to create a variety of interactive scenarios or different control styles. They're not just limited to a quick mini game.
@AlexOlney It might sound a little random considering the direction of the comments here but I'm looking forward to your next video. I like all the Labo videos lately. I'm pretty excited about it even if a lot of people aren't. I think it has a lot of potential.
@QwertyQwerty Alright you're just taking this a bit too far now. He didn't write the article and he's being shouted at by others for its contents. He's going to want to stand up for himself and his colleagues. Everyone needs to just drop it and move on with their days. If you don't like the card then fine, cool beans. Chill.
@AlexOlney Sorry to see you getting all the hate here but I think it was a good read and it's nice to know about this kind of stuff. I got a 256GB card last year and it works fine but this 500GB card still seems acceptable although a little expensive 😆
I'm actually really excited about this. I'm hoping that some of the toy-cons will be implemented into other third-party games as alternative control options and ways to interact with the games too.
Oh my god, this is genius. Only Nintendo could surprise me in such a positive way. I was upset before the direct because I thought they were just going to announce some £500 VR headset or something like that. The same as all the rest of the companies. Boring. But then I saw THIS. LABO. It looks amazingly fun and it has so much potential to expand beyond the confines of cardboard. At it's core it's using sensory data to interact with the digital and physical worlds in sync with your actions. I think I may have a reason to use my coding skills now if I can get off my butt 😂
The DLC was awesome and I'll admit I was expecting something different but I was pleasantly surprised by what we got. As far as this guide goes though it was awesome but I think some bits about fighting the enemies around the shrines might have made a good edition, however that's just my opinion.
I personally have joked about being addicted to video games and I've spent countless hours playing them. The number of hours spent playing them equates to actual years of my life. However in saying that, no I don't believe they are actually an addiction. They're just a hobby for me. I enjoy playing them and immersing myself in something outside of reality for a while. I don't believe I NEED them and I could easily stop and never play a game again if I wanted. I think this is a bit of an overreaction by the WHO and honestly it reminds me a little of moms on fox news complaining about video games being evil and making their kids violent; ridiculous but funny.
I wager a lot of what is shown will be titles for 2019 or the end of 2018. But that's just me being a little pessimistic. And that's providing there even is a direct at some point.
Being able to go underwater would be great in my opinion. And using classic items from the series instead of the runes would be another positive step. Add in proper, Zelda style dungeons and it would be a masterpiece. Though I really see so much potential to expand upon the open world concepts with Zelda that it's hard to focus my imagination. More and better sailing like in Windwaker perhaps? What about masks and the excellent area designs of Majora's Mask?
@ollietaro Thanks for the informative reply. 😀 It was pretty helpful. They sound pretty decent. Kind of reminds me of the shopping mall thing you had back in..was it black/white 2? I still prefer the more streamlined feel of OR/AS though.
I wish they would have gotten rid of the plaza and just went with something similar to omega ruby and alpha sapphire where everything was much more streamlined and easy to access. They could easily have just made small adjustments to the system they had there and it would have been perfect.
Edit: As far as the mission goes though I suppose it's possible. I usually catch around 10 Pokémon in the first few days so if there are many more people with similar habits it will be a cake walk. On another note though...what are the festival coins for?
I've put thousands of hours into Skyrim for the PC with and without mods and can say I'm still excited to get it for the Switch. Even though it doesn't support mods. I'm also looking forward to getting Pokémon Ultra Moon (with the Pokéball themed New 2DS XL), Mario & Rabbids, still need to get Splatoon 2 and Arms too, Shovel Knight: King of Cards and the new Mario and Luigi game.
This looks pretty good. I've always wanted to make a game and release it on a Nintendo console too. I even have concepts and designs for one as well as a degree with honours in creative technologies.
I think the soundtrack is beautiful. I was just sitting listening to it on its own earlier and I was impressed that it still sounded so great without the game playing alongside it.
EDIT:
Though I do have to admit that as far as the game goes I was slightly disappointed with the dungeons and bosses. I got used to not having all the cool, permanent weapons and items from previous Zelda games but it would have been nice to see a couple again. I miss the ball and chain from Twilight Princess, lol
I pre-ordered it. I never got a New 3DS. I wanted to though and since my wallet is a little empty lately I figure this is a fair alternative. I don't use 3D that much anymore so I don't mind it not being in the console. Plus it has an awesome design in my opinion.
I'm getting the game regardless (I have it pre-ordered) but I do feel that Nintendo should have given us more details about the game at this point. The trailers don't tell us enough. I'm having the same problem with Skyrim for the Switch where there just aren't nearly enough details about the game. I wonder if there will be another Direct in the near future? Wishful thinking I suppose. 😧
I think there are a lot of new developers and designers popping up these days too that were inspired by the retro gaming era and want to make games based on the styles that were present at the time. Just as on the flip side there are those who want to continue to expand the scene and develop new and interesting graphics and technologies for their games. It's pretty evident with the list of games releasing lately.
Personally I think this looks awesome graphically but I'm not sure if the gameplay is something I'm interested in or not at the moment.
Edit: Not to say that all that are interested in producing retro graphics are new to the scene. I'm sure there are some hardened veterans out there who want to revisit and revitalize the retro look and feel too.
This almost brought me to tears. Bethesda is one of my favorite game studios. They produce about 40% of my favorite games and them creating a relationship with Nintendo is amazing.
This game looks amazing. Think it's a day 1 buy for me if I have the funds. I loved SteamWorld Heist.
On a more off-topic note I walked past my local game and saw the Switch being solf for £50 above the RRP. With prices like that they're almost as bad as ebay scalpers.
It would be really easy for them to just release a new revision of the joy-cons with analogue triggers. Voila! Problem solved. Then we could all enjoy the treasure trove of games that use them and rejoice.
I suppose it'd be cool if a version of the game came to Switch. I can't say I would definitely buy it but I haven't played it before so it's a maybe. I was really interested in it for a while when it first released but it wasn't out for PC so I shrugged and moved on.
I miss Miiverse. The only reason I hardly ever used it was because I didn't play my Wii U very much and (in my opinion) it felt clunky on the 3DS. But I still loved it and thought it was an amazing platform for social interaction among gamers. I'm usually more of a recluse and an introvert but I enjoyed posting on Miiverse. And getting likes from people on my drawings was a good confidence booster. XD
All I want to know is if this version will include mod support. I really don't understand how we STILL don't have any details regarding that. We still don't have clarification that it's the Special Edition either (other than some fans swearing to Talos that it is).
But I am pretty excited regardless of those details. I put a lot of effort into getting a portable version of Skyrim running back in the day so this is like a dream come true.
