@topsekret there are some videos out there explaining why some games don't work. The biggest culprit is a bad programming. if it were programmed correct without any tricks, it would work like all of the other games. if the translation layer would be faulty, a lot more games would not work. and that is not the case. if Nintendo tries to "fix" the translation layer for those few games the risk to cause problems for other games is there.

and btw. the translation layer is only the half truth of how the backwards compatibility works here. I would suggest to watch the video of MVG how it really works. Was a very interesting video.

@Simu001 did you really want to engage on this topic or do you just want to spread hate? All Nintendo games but one are running on switch 2. there is only a low percentage of third part games that don’t run properly.

Nintendo can’t fix their party games. They don’t have the code. And would be too big task with over 10.000 games.

If you had informed yourself you would have known how the backward compatibility works and why some games have issues.

@1UP_MARIO I would be skeptical. Directs are rarely on Friday. Can’t remember if we had one. Tuesday, Thursday or Wednesday are more likely.

I can’t see why this is worse for digital than physical? No (new) physical copies will be sold. Similar to digital. If you own the game you can still re download and play it.

Only the standard digital limitation: no second hand market applies here.

@OctolingKing13 why are you guessing this? All can play this on the S2 now. And the bug fixes were only for the S1 version. Even when it’s played on S2.

If not you would make losses and wouldn’t sustain long on the market. That’s very basic knowledge. Price is always a function of cost + tax + win.

@Zyph agree. Also I think if it were a pack in every switch unit would just cost 10 bucks more. No company will give you really something for free. Every pack in is calculated in the costs.

@Tangerine I have only 80%. I found it interesting and the demos and mini games were fun. (At least some.) and my toddler loved those to try things our especially the saw demo and the rumble hd 2 demo with the balls.

I first played both on NSO. Good platformers but not so outstanding that I wanna replay them. But I think I would have played a lot as a kid 😅

@Elitepatriot Adults? Rarely. Toddlers? Yes!

My son is 3 old loves it. Due to auto-item in MKW, he plays better than in MK8D and gets 3rd place in 50cc GrandPrix (after me and my wife). Also he gets distracted bey driving on water. He enjoys it so much he gets almost last on that courses. But still loves it.

Why is this so expensive in the us? Only 25€. And mostly Nintendo prizes are €=$.

@speed_loafer i don’t know. I can only imagine it can be useful if you only have 1 console and a non-smart tv to see it on tv. Otherwise I can’t see any benefit to have such things on a gaming console.

Same for the other Nintendo classic apps, if you use the corresponding controller

@AllBLK the futuristic hyperspeed racer isn’t a genre for the masses like mini game collections and kart racer. I can imagine Wipeout also not having that high sales numbers.

For welcome tour: I’ve seen comments and reviews that it’s not just a glorified manual. Some also saying it’s worth the price. I will wait and see for more reviews. But I think I’m more interested know than 2 months ago. (And also k think pack-in would be a smart choice. Especially since Nintendo he so great pack-in titles years ago).

For eShop buys: none. Haven’t got my S2 yesterday because DHL stopped delivering and said maybe tomorrow 🤬😔

Where is the problem? This should showcase all of the switch 2s features. So it does that. (I also think it would make more sense as a pack-in).

And for the required Accessoire:

4K TV: most people I know have one for years now.
Kamera: most people I know have one (at least since corona). As far as I know you can use any usb camera.
GL/GR: yeah that’s a shame. Why isn’t the charging grip included? That was a strange decision with the og switch. As well. Can’t be that much more expensive.

@tourjeff my switch 2 is still in delivery so couldn’t try, but it should work wireless. Did you sync the controller with the switch 2? (By using the small button near the usb c port).

The kompletest edition? Where are the ps2 games?

Does anybody know if it’s safe to use the a/c adapter and hdmi cable of the switch 2 for the switch 1 dock? (HDMI should be no issue, but am not sure about the a/c adapter; and also don’t have my switch 2 yet)

How are loading times? CIV6 has terrible loading times on Switch. That’s why i rarely played it. Do we know if CIV6 gets a S2 patch?
