Re: First Impressions: Nintendo Switch 2 'Wows' Most When You Go Back To Your Old Switch

@Serpenterror that’s nonsense. GC will be fine on switch. Sunshine works without analog triggers on switch (3D all stars). So Test will too. But maybe not as optimal as it should be.

I think the joy cons are the limiting factor. If the pro controller would get analog triggers, the joy cons would need also some (to ensure the same input functionality with the first party switch controllers). And I’m not sure if this would work in that small form.

Re: Nintendo President Reiterates Switch Online Will "Continue To Be Available" For Switch 2

The virtual console fans are funny. I have maybe paid for 5-6 VC games for my entire NSO subscription time. And I can play almost 300 games. I also played and loved games I have never played games I never played before without risking wasting money.

Ownership vs. rental is always a thing. But unless you pay much more for the subscription service or the owned games are physical, the ownership is not that superior. (Think of damaged hard drive and the vc game is no more available to download and you have no backup.)

I also think NSO is the best forced online subscription. To be fair I’m not that familiar with Xbox live because I will never own an MS think if I can avoid it. But ps plus costs much more and only gives you 3 games a month and you can’t play the games which were released on ps plus before you subscribed. Also those games are often low quality and why is there almost every month is a stupid shooter (fair the last thing is a me problem).

NSO on the other hand has hundreds of games. Some are crap. But there is also a good amount of high quality games which cost a lot of you want an original cartridge. Those aren’t the newest games but they often often more fun and entertainment than the current games. And as you can see how many people want some specific games for the service the interest in those games and even more is there.

Just my 2cents on a wall of text 🙃

Edit: I also don’t like to play for online play. I know times before PS plus.

Edit2: forgot to mention that NSO is also the cheapest of the services.

Re: Rumour: Switch Virtual Console Was Apparently Nintendo's "Original Plan"

The price/value is much better than virtual console. Sure you don’t own them (but do you really with digital games? — otherwise physical games wouldn’t get the high praise).

I’m not the biggest fan of streaming services, but I can experience more for less money (as long as I’m subscribed).

Due to not having extra costs to experiment I tried some games I never have played and also loved them. I’m not sure if I would have bought them just for curiosity… but I found new enjoyable franchises through NSO and bought the recent games:

Fire Emblem, Metroid, mother (ok there is no recent game), castlevania (the advanced & ds collections), WarioWare.

I love DKC, but I’m not sure if I would be happy with DKL if I had paid 5€ or so for them.

And also I think especially the play once for the experience NES games (for example Zelda II, Metroid) have more players than they had if you had to buy them. (And i know hard core fans replay those 😅).

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Mario & Luigi: Brothership?

I only played 6 hours yet. So take the following with a grain of salt.

If it wasn’t part of a series I would give it a 9. but it’s part of a series and does things worse than the first entry I can only give a 7. and that’s generous. Here are the things I think are worse:

  • Luigi’s controls
  • how you learn pair moves: some one finds some thing and gov it you. Now you can do a new move?
  • how you learn overwork’s abilities. At random points Luigi has an idea and that’s it?

The progression in the original was very satisfying. It tied in very weil in the story. And pair moves and overworld abilities are coupled together.
