@BakaKnight The Dark Edition starter pack already comes with 3 crystals (Fire, Life, and Dark) and 3 Senseis, giving it a whopping 6 skylanders total. I was worried at how many crystals I'd need to buy on day 1 but when I saw the Dark Starter contents on Gamestop's site I realized those contents will definitely keep me busy for a while.
I'm hyped for this! I was a bit skeptial of Skylanders back in 2011 with Spyro's... strange... guest appearance but in 2012 the games slowly began to grow on me. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to create a Jontron skylander
I grew up talking with my friends about Waluigi in SM64DS. I was still new to gaming, so I wasn't smart enough to know that there was a rumor about Luigi in the original that this one sprouted off of. Everyday at lunch me and my 3 friends would all sit at the very back table and report our most recent findings, absolutely determined to find Waluigi. There was also my own stupidity that sparked a rumor for myself in Pokemon Diamond. I had just gotten into Pokemon by then so I hadn't realized how many regions there were yet, or that it was one region per-game (minus Gen 2). When I saw the description on a medicine saying it was from Cianwood City, I thought it was some mysterious hidden city in Pokemon Diamond I had to find. Of course when I got Heart Gold I felt extremely dumb.
I'm very happy with this and the NX's delay. It'll give me time to save for the NX after Christmas, and with the new Zelda as a launch title the NX is sure to make a much bigger impact than the Wii U did at launch. Dibs on the bundle.
Yesss, more off-tv play! I usually can only play on the Wii U Gamepad, so this pretty much sells the NX for me. I'm also more of a handheld kind of guy, so taking console games on the go sounds awesome! (crosses fingers for Super Mario Galaxy 3)
Games: Volcanion is a beast of the wild, leading a news reporter (that one from lumiose city thats missing) on an epic chase across the mountains to tame it.
Anime: Magearna, an ancient relic revered by many, decides to connect with a dim-witted 10 year old boy and help him team up with his buddy, a talking Volcanion (let's face it, every mythical pokemon talks in the anime), to go on fun happy adventures together (which he will soon forget about one episode later).
@Agent721 Do a certain number of challenges on each amiibo (I think the world 4 boss challenge unlocks their minigame). Then while in the lobby online, use the left stick on the gamepad to toggle between the games you've unlocked.
Leaked distribution details from North America: Order a 20 pc mcugget box at Mcdonalds, then use the serial code on the box at a Nintendo Zone on a rainy wednesday (while supplies last).
I'm not at all saying it's bad or anything, it's just... I'm confused. Someone in that conference room 3 or 4 years ago said "Forget everything else, the people NEED a game with a talking Pikachu solving murder mysteries." Again it actually looks cool, but I'm confused on when that one person decided that Pikachu = Detective. I'm sure we'll be seeing heart surgeon pikachu next
And with all the hype in Japan, Nintendo still likes to think we don't know it exists while they continue to shove the Earthbound series as a whole under the rug with Flipnote.
I'm mostly hoping for Inklings, as it's pretty much a given in the Smash ballot knowing their popularity. Also, I know it probably won't happen but it'd also be really cool to see Professor Layton join the battle. "Now Luke, a gentleman never punches a lady-WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY TO ME SAMUS?! TAKE THIS!"
Japan: Here ya go, one wifi distribution coming right up tomorrow morning! America: Just go all the way to Mcdonalds, buy some Mcnuggets, and connect your 3DS and maybe you'll find a location that distributes it! Just wait a little longer and we'll have Volcanion up and running soon*!
Will you be doing a review for Amiibo Festival? For some reason next to no reviews have been published by news sites, and I have a sneaking suspicion Nintendo is stopping them on purpose...
@arojilla Cards are used mainly for HHD. You scan them in after unlocking the amiibo phone so you can phone in the villager on the card and design their house directly instead of waiting for them for an eternity to appear in the town. Cards are the only way to design houses for special characters like Isabelle too. After building facilities like the school, you can scan an amiibo card inside to assign that villager a role.
@TTGlider This is a filler game. Look how close to New Leaf it's being released, and look at the year gap between City Folk and New Leaf. They are likely working on the main AC Wii U title now and figured they need some releases (and amiibo) in between, hence amiibo festival and HHD, the Mario Tennis games of the AC franchise.
@MrGuinea It could still be used for something. Nintendo never outright announced the Villager's compatibility in Happy Home Designer, but he does indeed unlock a special furniture piece. I really hope he's compatible in amiibo festival.
Aw, really hoped this would turn out better seeing how great the show is (not counting the tons of hiatuses thrown in). Still, no Bill Cipher or Ford, no buy
@Koz I thought I was the only one! Seriously though, sometimes it feels like "Indie" games are spoiled rotten. Sure some are hidden gems among some other eshop games, but I don't think any of the characters in another pseudo-retro-platformer eshop game are deserving enough to be in Super Smash Bros. They haven't left enough of an impact.
@97alexk I think it'll probably end up more like this; "Get ready for the next EPIC SPLATFEST in America guys! We have JEDI VS SITH!" EU: "Ok guys, are you ready for the most epic splatfest yet?! This time, it's... LETTERS VS NUMBERS!"
@Kaze_Memaryu Germany is considered amiibo PARADISE. In America, it's much, much worse than you could ever imagine. Just about every amiibo that's not Mario, Peach, or Pikachu are all near impossible to find. Store exclusives usually instantly sell out when they're up for preorder, with most stores like Gamestop only getting 1 or 2 of each amiibo per-wave.
I can see it now... "Coming 20XX, the games you've all been waiting for! Legend of Zelda: The Amiibo of Fate, Metroid: Amiibo Planet, and the one you've been begging for: Rusty's Real Deal AMIIBO PARTY! Samus amiibo not compatible in Metroid: Amiibo Planet. Required Federation Force amiibo included in EU exclusive bundle, please understand."
@kamifox1 Spyro's main purpose was a cameo to reel players in by having a familiar character in the game in order to introduce the new IP successfully; it was never in the Spyro series and has always been its own series, people just misunderstood this action and now see it as the Spyro series hence why everyone hates it. Personally I began to like Skylanders for their new and fresh ideas, not for their horribly ugly Spyro redesign. That's why I don't get all the hate right now. They're done with shoving Spyro in our face, and while I think some of their marketing has been a bit shady, it's a genuinely decent game series. I almost skipped out on Superchargers until-OH MY GOSH IS THAT BOWSER?! Take my money Activision! ...Dang it their plan worked!
@BlatantlyHeroic I must have missed those, I was quite tired this morning. I can only hope, however, that Nintendo makes it as good as Explorers of Sky, but the "Super" part of the title doesn't really scream "super" to me...
It's gonna another free-to-start game, I'm calling it now. Nintendo has been absolutely adamant lately that spin-off Pokemon games MUST be free-to-start, and every eshop release they've advertised since Pokemon Shuffle have pretty much all been free-to-start. Please Nintendo, PLEASE. Don't keep doing this.
Nintendo still refuses to fully accept their mistakes. Sure, Iwata said one thing about it a week or two ago, but he said he couldn't even promise that there will be enough restocks. Other than that, the only thing they say about stock when asked about it now is "Stay in the loop and don't miss your second chance!" That just goes to show that they are completely oblivious and unaware to the whole scalper situation, and they still believe you can walk into most stores and fins an equal stock of each amiibo, with tons of DeDeDes, Ikes, and Villagers. They made a big deal out of this "restock" of 2 Marths in the U.S, yet they've already given Japan good-sized restocks of Little Mac, Villager, Wii Fit Trainer, Pit, and Captain Falcon, with more on the way. Yet all they say to us in America when we email them is "Try looking harder, you'll find one eventually! I wish you luck hunting for Villager!"
So, they promise to resolve the issue with restocks, but who do they restock out of all the rares they could choose from? Mario. The one who has been sticking to shelves since day 1. At least there's a Shulk restock though, but let's hope it's more than 3 figures per store.
Holy cow, what on earth did they do to Luke Skywalker and the others? Clone Wars' artstyle fits this game well, but the movie characters...? Not so much.
I loved the new DLC. I was torn between by two favorite tracks (animal crossing and big blue). As for characters, Girl Villager wins by a long shot. I never like the boy villager's eyes, but the girl villager is so ADORABLE. Oh and Isabelle too
