Re: New Z-Moves Revealed In Pokémon Ultra Sun And Ultra Moon

@sillygostly A Switch port would be impossible right now. For starters, they only just started working on the gen 8 games for Switch, which will take another two years minimum. They have to have been working on Ultra Sun and Moon since before they could start developing for Switch, seeing how complete they were in the initial announcement less than a year ago. If a Switch port were to happen, the entire engine, the interface, the features, and the gimmicks would have to be COMPLETELY reworked in order to make it work on Switch, even moreso than previous games. They've been using a dual-screen handheld for a decade now, so making the main-series jump to a home console for the first time ever is gonna take even more work. That's why they always wait until the next generation to start on a new console. You're calling it the worst main series Pokemon game ever just because your Stars fantasy didn't work out? At least have some more common sense.

If I'm not really into farming simulators, would I still like this game? I like games like Animal Crossing and Minecraft, but the farming part just doesn't appeal much to me. Still, it seems like there's a lot more to this game so I'm kind of curious.

Re: Poll: What Did You Think of the Nintendo Direct?

TBH, I don't really like the headlines format. It just throws so much at you all at once, and they really have to rush each segment to cram all the info in, so a lot of it just goes over your head. Plus, I miss Reggie and Bill's antics. Nintendo seems to be a lot quieter lately; less transparent and more corporate. They just kind of announce a title once, post some stuff on Twitter, and stay quiet until it releases. No personality or skits or anything to spice it up... Of course, that's not to say the games they showed off weren't amazing!

@leo13 And Nintendo would also lose a ton of money. They flat-out clarified it in the presentation; they called the Switch a "home console you can bring on the go." Later on in the Treehouse stream, Reggie said they have no plans to abandon the 3DS because it's a huge part of their market with over 66 million units sold, and it is lighter and more portable than the Switch. They will very likely continue to release handhelds able to play smaller games in short bursts, while the Switch is for larger home console games with added portability.

@gatorboi352 3DS is great but it doesn't run full console games on the go. The main appeal of the Switch for me is that it runs giant games like Mario Kart 8 and Breath of the Wild anywhere. I still think the 3DS is better for playing in small bursts like Animal Crossing.

Sure, the Switch is portable, but its games are tailored to the home console side of things. It's not a console meant to be used in short bursts, but instead for long plane/car trips and big parties for local multiplayer. The 3DS is still the primary handheld console due to its ability to be played in short bursts for just minutes at a time, yet still give the same amount of enjoyment. The 3DS is still the king of handhelds, no doubt about it.

I actually like using the portal better since it instantly saves all your data to the figures every second of the way. However, I think I'll get the Switch version just so I can level them up when I'm not at home. Then I can save the data when I get back and use them in both versions of the game.
