I might replay World at War, BlackOps, or (4) Modern Warfare. I think they had decent campaign modes, even though I'm not really a fan of modern military shooters. CoD 4 is just an exceptionally good one in how it delivers its campaign, the other 2 are just good or interesting in their setting.
When it comes to military shooters or the likes, I'd much prefer Brothers in Arms, Rainbow Six (3 or Vegas 1 & 2), Full Spectrum Warrior, Conflict (Desert Storm), Hidden & Dangerous 2, Black... Collections where applicable. Or Cannon Fodder on the SNES app. Or Medal of Honor Infiltrator on the GBA app.
To me, RE4, HotD Overkill (and a couple other railshooters), Red Steel 2 (and a couple other fps'es), Blazing Angels, Excite Truck (and some other racing games), the Broken Sword remake, and more silly stuff like Warioware Smooth Moves and Zack & Wiki and World of Goo... And Wii Sports Boxing, yes. Those are the games that proved motion controls and pointer controls could truly enhance a game, immersive or just in a fun way. And the Wii remote was an excellent idea that I was glad was still part of some Wii U games, enhancing them greatly as well (like NintendoLand, BlackOps 2, Pikmin 3, ZombiU in multiplayer, Mario Kart... I was absolutely amazed when I found out the Gamepad even had a built in "sensor bar".
But yeah, I prefer handheld with well implemented gyro aim for most games. Most, as in RE4 Wii Edition cannot be made better (still not buying it on Switch because of how it does NOT have gyro aim, and no physical in Europe, and a very stupid "physical" in US, in typical Capcom fashion. I gave 5 another chance with gyro aim now, but it's still a bad game in my experiene)
I don't get why some countries list the price without theft - I mean tax. It's not like they'll let you buy it for the price they say it is. Isn't that false advertising? I mean sure, it WOULD be closer to fair trade, because government is no rightful third party in a two party business transaction, just a bunch of organised criminals leeching of every deal, one of the biggest organised scams ever pulled by any corporation, but that doesn't change the fact that if the price tag says a certain price, the store should let you have that product for that price.
And yes, I am aware that taxes may vary on the country it is shipped to, and Playasia sells products fromeverywhere to everywhere.
These collections seem to be getting more expensive and lazy, and less complete and physical every generation. Still, I'd love to replay Snake Eater. Last time I played it was on 3ds. Never completed an MGS game after that, so if one day they do it RIGHT, and combine the collections, for a decent price, with some art book or whatever, I might get that. For now, maybe a standalone of Snake Eater.
@Serpenterror If Rockstar were smart they'd do plenty of things differently, but yeah, that's my idea of smart, and clearly theirs is somehow working for them. Mine would have seen GTA V and Max Payne collection (or just 3) on Switch at the very least. Maybe we'll get GTA (GBC and GBA) and Max Payne on the GBC/GBA app, and I'm not going to lie, I would like that. No, really.
Portal, and when I'm done with that, Portal 2 I guess. I started both games before on PS3, but handheld with gyro and everything running as smooth as it does, I'll get through them easy this time. And I'm also in the mood for some weird and underappreciated horror movies, for some reason.
Really interested in how this turns out. For a spin-off series they definitely do get a lot of spin-offs themselves. But as long as they are fun, quality games, I'm interested. The 3ds Etrian Odyssey crossover (series) is still my favourite, but I love tactics (Metal Slug Tactics when?) so by all means, 1-up yourselves!
People really love to hate the unknown, don't they... Glad to see the initial hate has slightly turned towards acceptance already.
I said it then and will say it again, bring it, bring the games, it looks great fun. And as always (not just with Ubisoft games) I will be waiting for a deep sale, and once I'm satisfied with the price, I'll get it, enjoy it (patched by then if it was necessary), and I'll be a happy gamer with or without it
It's a bit late for a fruitful relation between Switch and the Tomb Raider franchise I think. For a physical release I would be willing to pay that price, digital at a deep sale.
More directly related to this game and review: it looks lovely, on a deep sale I'll pick it up.
And the Wario Ware nose picking boss should get its own full game.
Why not just make good games, and always try to own the market? Stupid question, I know the higher ups don't care about games, only promises of massive returns on investment. If it is through games or selling hormones to kids, what do they care.
One of those games I still need to start playing, and am quite sure I'll love when I eventually get to it... Which is soon-ish. Or at least, that's what I say about any game in that pile when I'm reminded of them and not picking up a cheap game on a deep sale instead.
@AtlanteanMan I just recently finished the sequel, and really look forward to continue playing with Rayman. But I see your points, and they are valid. Personally I think the music, the battles not just being part of the world map, and the guns all just literally being skins for the same weapon, made this sequel a little less enjoyable than the superb surprise that was the first game. Still a very good game though,in my opinion. Easy, yes, that's also true. My party was only wiped out once, when I was cornered by multiple spawning new enemies that just slaughtered my party in their instant turn upon spawning with massive area attacks, and they kept coming through the same portals, so it wasn't a challenge, just something completely unfair I could not have known in advance.
In case you don't want to watch 2 hours of mostly-non-switch games, the actual time of the teaser is 0:53:50 when I look for it, so I suppose the video has been shortened of the given time stamp is just a mistake.
@Anti-Matter The dlc was a downloadcode, and a gold edition of the sequel with a downloadcode is available. I have both gold editions, and I would have liked it to be on the physical medium, but I have no regrets and love both games. The dlc of the first game was AMAZINGLY good, and I have high hopes for Rayman's return in 3D, hopefully stepping out of the shadow of the rabbids for a next game.
@Sisilly_G It reminds me a lot of the very enjoyable Castlevania on 3ds, which was (don't know if it still is) exclusive to the platform back then, and a standout graphically in 3d, at least that's my memory of playing it.
@Coalescence Well, this isn't the rat race where people run in square circles believing freedom will be around the next corner their entire lives, if only they work harder, earn more, buy more, need more, and work harder again, as perfect slaves. Next Nintendo system has to be around a nearby corner. But I'm not claiming to KNOW anything about it, I'll enjoy my Switch until it has no more fun to offer first.
Quite sure those keyrings already existed, as club Nintendo awards back in the day... I believe I have the yellow pikmin with an orange somewhere at my mom's home.
Damn people are negative... It looks fine, I'll eventually enjoy it, I'm quite sure. Much like I really enjoyed the Castlevania on 3DS. And the trailer music won't be in the game, quite sure of that as well.
The last one makes no sense. It's a design, not the 3ds in-game model, and she is in both OoT and MM, so I assumed it was a trick question as it could be all four of the answers.
Killer7 and Shadows of the Damned with gyro aim in handheld, and I may consider breaking my rule of not buying games that aren't on a deep sale. A SUDA51 collection, physically, and I'll even pre-order like I totally lost my mind.
@BASEDSAKRI Definitely Wario Ware Twisted, and also Yoshi's Universal Gravitation, despite it not being as great as it could have been. Sadly the only one out of the three games released in Europe, but I did get all three of them for a decent price in the end, and still have them, near mint, complete in box. Wario Ware Twisted even twice, US and JAP version, because I used to be an crazy collector and I liked the Japanese box better, and I love game cartridges with built-in extra features, like the Boktai games and Drill Dozer and the GBC games with rumble.
@CharlieGirl Nicolas Cage is the role every aspiring actor dreams of. He recently actually played Nicolas Cage in The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, the only correct title for a movie where Nick plays Nick.
He can be a great bad ass protagonist, but also be a great vilian. Haven't played DBD, byt I do hope to see him as both, and plenty of references to as many weird movies old and new as possible, and LOTS of FABULOUS over-acting.
This is actually NOT meant ironically, I love his way of acting.
@DjinnFighter Indeed. This question is cursed. OG was my first game ever, of course it's the best and one of the best games I ever played, and it had that "gold" boxart. DX was even better, in colour, with some extra content, of course it's the best, but it had just a black box in Europe (but I also have the US version in a "golden" box). The remake lost some nostalgic charm for some very welcome additions and improvements, and gained some brand new charm in its own visuals, of course it's ALSO the best. Also, it came with a steelbook representing an OG Game Boy running the OG game, so it's full circle.
To think that this game came to be as "just" an after hours passion project, only to become the best GB game, and one of my all time favourite games, in all three versions of it.
Interesting update, Tilt 'n' Tumble is one of those games that I had to import to play originally. And that makes me hope for Wario Ware Twisted being added, and that Yoshi game with motion controls on GBA (something Gravitation?). Maybe Boktai, using the light sensor instead of the solar sensor on the original cartridges, or just the internal clock and assume sunlight, and maybe even Boktai 3 outside of Japan.
Give humans creative freedom, and surely they'll construct machines to industrialise exploitation and destruction. Oh, and machines that rain down death. What's next, a big factory farm in Hyrule? Automated breeding and butchering of animals? A stealth bomber, which I assume has already been done? A human resource machine to sell people on international markets to back up the infinite creation of digital currency?
On the bright side, in Hyrule, EVERYTHING is digital.
Voting never felt so... Democratic, since the last time I voted in politics. That means, utterly vague and useless, those "at the top" know already what their plan is, those in between each have their own take and hope to keep or gain some "cred", and those voting know it's pointless but still believe that they will be heard.
Anyway, I'll hear it when they announce their NXt system, de 3DSwitch U.
I like the NA one best, but the perspective and detail (or lack of both) in the background makes it seem more like some sort of temple, not a court room.
And I didn't sleep on Valkyria Chronicles, quite the opposite, both games on Switch kept me awake several nights. They are indeed excellent examples, andjust fantastic games overall. I also loved one of the most underrated and overlooked first party 3DS games, Codename STEAM. A bit similar in how you take direct control over the characters, avoiding line-of-sight in real time, but the combat is turn based. I already have it, but I recently found it new for 2€99, which almost made me buy a second copy.
@JohnnyMind Yeah, I love the genre (but got even XCOM 2 Collection only for the first time on the Switch, at 5 euro's, and that is the one they're always mentioning when something is even remotely like it). I played many other in the genre (such as the excellent Phantom Doctrine and Hard West, often available at 2 euro's, for over a 100 hours of fun for me). I'm also a fan of Mario games, and even of the Rabbids to some degree (Rabbids Go Home was an awesome game).
I got my Switch day one, and that was just when I started skipping many big budget releases, and Kingdom Battle was one of them, untill I bought the gold edition very cheap later on, just to have a new game to play, and I fell in love with it. The DK dlc was among the best dlc I ever played as well. My partner back then, and still one of my best friends, also tried it and also got hooked. I recently mentioned on the phone I was playing the sequel, and she started singing the mid boss theme of the first game
I also think I like the fact that any attack has a hit chance of 100%, 50-50, or 0. Because I hate missing multiple 80+ % hit chance attacks in a row for example. Games like Hard West have found a great way to solve that as well, with a "luck" system that runs out when a character avoids lasting physical damage, and restores when they miss an attack if I remember correctly. When luck is too low or at zero, it becomes a certain hit. Much better than 97% chance to deal 10x the damage required to take down an opponent, only to miss and do nothing. 50-50 with dealing cover damage otherwise, is also a great system.
I did like the music in the first Mario & Rabbids game better (it sometimes is too quiet or no music at all in the sequel, or feels desperate while I want it to feel energising and fun), and that the fights were right there on the main map, no alternate dimension or whatever.
Yeah I think Ubisoft has a very bad business model for themselves, making way too many way too big games and forcing every franchise into the same gameplay loop that I'm tired of anyways, with way too many sequels way too fast. And knowing their prices drop just as fast, why would I buy their next game full price, when I can get its five previous titles for a couple of euro's, patched and dlc included, and have about the same gameplay experience (or better, in many cases). It would sadden me to see them fail, as I like some of their games a lot (like Assassin's Creed 4 and Zombi U and Rayman Legends, for example).
@aSmilingMan guilty as charged. I waited for a sale knowing it's Ubisoft and they always go down in price fast. Got the gold edition cheaper than the launch price for the standard. But hey, I usually get games at discounts well below 10 euro's, mostly below 5, and often below 3 even, and skip anything more expensive unless it's a GREAT indie physical release with a manual and all that fine stuff.
Not that I need to defend myself, but in my defense anyway: I chose a simple life in financial poverty, and pursuing other riches, but I still like to play a good game on my Switch. Cutting down a lot on my gaming spending budget, I could save money to buy multiple forests to live in. And the state "AAA" video games are in nowadays, I gladly skip most of them anyways, while only the Switch is energy efficient enough to run it on off grid power supply.
I have more constructive and useful things to do when the weather is this good; like sitting outside in an open space in my forest doing absolutely nothing, except for getting up and changing my spot because the our respective position towards the sun changes. Oh and taking walks of several hours during the cooler hours of the day, with the dogs. In the evening I do play Mario & Rabbits Sparks of Hope now, Towerof DOOOOOOOM (give or take a few O's), hoping the Rayman DLC will arrive soon. Amazing game, but I like some aspects of the previous game better (such as the music, especially the mid-boss theme and the Phantom boss opera music).
I have the Untold remakes and played the originals as well, and every later title except for the very last one on 3DS (Nexus). it will need to be a DEEP sale, even though I'm a huge fan. This series was perfectly at home on the (3)DS hardware, so it's already as if a big part of it has been sacrificed in the transition.
I have both the European and the American version. I love the European more because I bought it in a toy store bargain bin for like the equivalent of 5€ back then, and because it is complete in box, but I have both because I like the American box art better, used to be a collector, and got it cheap because it was incomplete (no manual).
As someone who lives barefoot, I can relate... People always asking why, some being rude, some being just unashamed children taught to wear shoes, some even INTERESTED in the answer to the question why, some being understanding, some being actually incredibly hateful,... Rarely someone who can just accept it and move on, or ignore it, or even not notice in the first place.
Luckily I rarely get out of the forest into the town. Recently had to go to the hospital to sew an accidental dog bite shut, and only when I stopped on the way back to rest my feet in the river did I notice they were covered in blood, no wonder people looked even more spooked but no one had remarks about it
In Spain I was once almost arrested for wearing no shirt. People are such a weird bunch... I'm rather with the dogs in the forest.
@Magician Yeah, I stopped playing that because I had hoped the replays would seem amazing but they were so un-smooth (just like the cutscenes) I never TRULY got into the game. Maybe just playing it to have a turn based tactical game will help... But now I'm playing Mario & Rabbids 2 instead. I need games to be a little slower to process and calculate what is happening and will happen, and I love Superhot, both in VR and the non-VR version, so this one is definitely on my at-a-deep-sale list.
@Kiliomp I'm not too sure if I'd like any of that personally, or any of the other possibilities that would have my comment removed for inappropriate. Some of them actually sabotaging your ability for relief.
But most of all I'm worried about all of the people that think that without a toilet, we would simply release it all in our pants and keep wearing them. I have a pack of big dogs living with me, mostly off grid, and, well, none of us smell like poop. Quite possibly a city would smell like poop though. And dead and diseased people. Oh well, glad I no longer live ina city, toilets or not. I'd like to live on a floating island and have a flush that just drops it all down below.
Given that I often buy complete editions on deep sales, I'm not always aware of what is DLC.
But I do know the Mario & Rabbids DLC was amazing, the tiny cop-car-kart in Wreckfest adds a lot of fun, and more Sniper Elite 4 and Zombie Army 4 is always welcome, although the DLC is overpriced and never on sale apparently. I wish I could speak for the Starfox expansion for the other Ubisoft X Nintendo IP, but even though I bought the game at a very low price, I never got into it because it was marketed in such a way I always associate it with an expensive complicated mess to get into, when I was already burnt out on the whole toys collecting aspect.
@HeadPirate I couldn't have explained it that well, simply because I don't know that well HOW that aspect of the corrupt systems works, just that it is utterly insane, corrupt, unfair,... Thanks for explaining it so clearly.
I have no experience with running a slave company and pretending to be better than that, only with running FROM several slave companies that pretends to be better than that and managed to convince both themselves and the slaves of that lie. And years ofexperience with living in constant conflict with their slave policies, terror police (overseers, or "officers"), and gangster politicians. And with actually trying to talk to the "managers" cowardly hiding behind human shields, and demanding they respect my (human) birthrights, something sadly successfully negatively associated with insane "Karens" nowadays, or negative propaganda about actual sovereign people, that got us completely misunderstood, while we just want to live, let live, and be left alone and in peace, and have no business with the most corrupt companies ever, "government", and not being registered, controled, forces, exploited as "human resources", required to have "licences" to practice basis birthrights, or pay involuntary contributions to their crimes and furthering their criminal agenda's, and being disarmed while they force us at gunpoint to comply with their company rules as if they were our natural "law".
I've had a few successes though, in arranging a sitdown, and they have always made it very clear they DON'T know the human rights, they benefit from them not being known,... And in some cases I managed to actually respect my rights, sometimes even without threats from both sides. So there IS still SOME humanity, SOME capacity of mutual understanding and agreement in disagreement, left in this slave nation. But never as or in the "rule", yet we won't find it if we accept the rule or create the rule that there is none.
But I need to remind myself this is NintendoLife, and most people probably aren't here looking for such information, opinions, experiences, perspectives,... ^^
SO a Cadence of the Kingdom costume benefit €1 tax free download for TotK, or WHEN?

DX was even better, in colour, with some extra content, of course it's the best, but it had just a black box in Europe (but I also have the US version in a "golden" box). The remake lost some nostalgic charm for some very welcome additions and improvements, and gained some brand new charm in its own visuals, of course it's ALSO the best. Also, it came with a steelbook representing an OG Game Boy running the OG game, so it's full circle.
To think that this game came to be as "just" an after hours passion project, only to become the best GB game, and one of my all time favourite games, in all three versions of it.
Re: Nintendo Expands Switch Online's Game Boy Color, SNES & NES Library With Four More Titles
Anyway, great update this one.
Re: Random: Zelda: TOTK Players Build Cucco Traps For An Easy Way To Farm Eggs
Give humans creative freedom, and surely they'll construct machines to industrialise exploitation and destruction. Oh, and machines that rain down death. What's next, a big factory farm in Hyrule? Automated breeding and butchering of animals? A stealth bomber, which I assume has already been done? A human resource machine to sell people on international markets to back up the infinite creation of digital currency?
On the bright side, in Hyrule, EVERYTHING is digital.
Re: Poll: Will There Be A June 2023 Nintendo Direct?
Voting never felt so... Democratic, since the last time I voted in politics. That means, utterly vague and useless, those "at the top" know already what their plan is, those in between each have their own take and hope to keep or gain some "cred", and those voting know it's pointless but still believe that they will be heard.
Anyway, I'll hear it when they announce their NXt system, de 3DSwitch U.
Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl: Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney (DS)
I like the NA one best, but the perspective and detail (or lack of both) in the background makes it seem more like some sort of temple, not a court room.
Re: Grant Kirkhope Appears To Have Completed His Work On Mario + Rabbids
@aSmilingMan I definitely don't FEEL guilt.
Re: Grant Kirkhope Appears To Have Completed His Work On Mario + Rabbids
Way too much text again, sorry
Re: Grant Kirkhope Appears To Have Completed His Work On Mario + Rabbids
Re: Grant Kirkhope Appears To Have Completed His Work On Mario + Rabbids
Looking forward to the DLC, I just finished the main game yesterday evening, and played through the Tower of Doom once this morning.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (June 3rd)
Re: Talking Point: From The Sublime To The Ridiculous - Is Anybody Excited For Everybody 1-2-Switch!?
Nintendo is definitely going for that GOTY win in 2023.
Re: Review: Etrian Odyssey Origins Collection - Divine Dungeon Crawling But Not Definitive
Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl - Ikaruga
I have both the European and the American version. I love the European more because I bought it in a toy store bargain bin for like the equivalent of 5€ back then, and because it is complete in box, but I have both because I like the American box art better, used to be a collector, and got it cheap because it was incomplete (no manual).
Re: These Sonic The Hedgehog Crocs Are Kinda Horrific, And They're Out Now
@Gumdrop You cannot kill that which has no soul.
Missed opportunity for Sonic the Hedgecrocs in the title though. Gotta go slow.
Re: Review: LEGO 2K Drive - A Fun, Colourful Racer But Not Quite Open-World Mario Kart
I remember the joy of LEGO as a child. Saving up my birthday money and all that to get...
An empty box.
But no worries, I could always buy the content bag per bag, brick per brick,...
Wait, that's not really how I remember the joy of LEGO.
Re: Random: Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom NPCs Call Out "Naked Link"
"real life" story time.
Re: Review: Fights In Tight Spaces - A Fresh-Feeling Roguelike With Turn-Based Tussling
Re: Random: Zelda Devs Reveal Which Link They Think Is The Stinkiest
Re: Random: Zelda Devs Reveal Which Link They Think Is The Stinkiest
@Scooby-Doo correct, but it might not have been used in quite a while...

Re: The Blind Prophet Brings Point-And-Click Action And Comic Book Visuals To Switch This Week
If they do their usual RedDeerGames huge launch sale, I'm definitely interested.
Re: Best Nintendo Switch DLC
Re: Zelda: Cadence Of Hyrule Dev 'Brace Yourself Games' Confirms Layoffs
