Did those complaining about the blue shell not impacting other players forget that it travels along the ground in MK8 and only becomes airborne to explode on 1st? I still prefer it on MK64 though when it was much less frequent. I certainly wouldn't mourn its removal.
It's funny because in Australia the Switch costs more than the Wii/Wii U at launch yet doesn't come with a game. I only decided to buy one today when I snagged the LE Zelda game. Without that I might as well buy it on Wii U and wait for more games to release and a bundle/price cut.
You don't know how long I've been waiting for a N64 Mario Party game to arrive! Got so disappointed when I saw MPDS first and then realised there was 2. There's still hope for my all time favourite Mario Party 3 to be released then!
The highest bracket is actually a thing in Australia, some retail titles (generally 3rd party ones) release at $89.95 on the eShop instead of the standard $79.95. Pokken Tournament is a very recent example of this.
Thankyou nintendo finally we get MK64! Great timing too just a month before I go back to uni and can battle my friends now by being able to use Wii U controllers. Now I'm getting excited that the Mario Parties will be released soon now all the other Mario games are out! Fingers crossed Mario Party 3 comes out first then I won't need to dig out my N64 any more.
Damn Nintendo I thought for sure Mario Kart 64 would be next after Mario Tennis and instead they release these two? So aggravating waiting for them to release the games I want: MK64 and the 3 Mario Parties. Seems like every other N64 game will come before them.
I prefer the American one. The European one is just a boring long sentence I have no interest in reading. At least the American one tries to make it funny. Plus of all the memes out there, the doge meme is highly known and one I still like to see every now and then. People need to lighten up. It's a tiny, insignificant part of the game in what is already a ridiculous game which barely deserves the Zelda title.
Was an interesting watch, sometimes really frustrating to see how close he was. That 100 hours was spread out over a year, he mentioned only doing it once a week, so it's not like he doesn't have a life. Plus, he got into it by helping a blind guy beat the game. Pretty impressive overall. Those rocks in Ganon's Tower just gave him hell lol.
Oh and his TV wasn't even on for those wondering if the pillowcase was too thin so he could cheat.
All jokes aside, these stability updates have actually made my 3DS worse. Since around July, the 3DS can no longer connect to any wifi hotspot that has an open connection but requires you to open the internet browser and login through the portal to connect to the internet. Instead of loading the page it now comes with an "the internet browser cannot be used at this time" message and kicks you out. It's especially annoying since my college wifi requires a separate login, so I cannot go online on my 3DS unless I use my phone as a hotspot to bypass the error and then turn it off so it can connect to the college wifi (which costs me money.) So it would be nice if Nintendo could actually fix that and stop making the 3DS UNstable.
There's quite a few other VC games on the list too such as the DS Zelda's, Super Mario 64 DS, Star Fox 64, Mario Kart 64, Mario Strikers Charged and a few more.
As for Twilight Princess HD, I'm excited now. I was nearly going to replay it 2 weeks ago but a HD remaster would be very nice. Ocarina, Majora's Mask and Wind Waker have all had remakes now so Twilight Princess feels left out.
I probably do owe Twilight Princess another replay. It's been a few years since I've played it and it's still one of my favourites. I've already replayed Ocarina and Majora's Mask this year, and just last night got back into Wind Waker HD (realised I had an unstarted second quest file.)
Yeah would've preferred the black model last year, but I've bought enough 3DS's in my lifetime to not need another one. Still have the Majora's Mask XL model I'm keeping as a collectors item while I use my regular white 3DS.
I didn't find out for a week since I had no internet but this still hit me really hard. I'm sorry you couldn't make it to E3 and had to deal with the backlash. We will always remember what you did for Nintendo Iwata-san. Rest in peace.
N64 games two weeks in a row is certainly a pleasant sight to me! Unfortunately not the games I'm looking for. Not interested in Kirby and I never bought Ocarina on the VC due to having the original, Master Quest GCN disc and 3DS remake, so I won't be going back to this. But keep the games coming Nintendo! I need Mario Kart 64 and the Mario Parties.
I just cant justify these prices. Nearly $40 for what amounts to 3 characters and 2 stages, when the full game already cost me $80 is absurd. Mario Kart did it right, not this. Not particularly interested in buying one of the characters or stages individually either. Just gonna stick to the free Miiverse stage.
I've never liked white consoles. The irony is my Wii, DSi and now the new 3DS were all white because of either a lack of an alternative colour or the store only had white left. If Nintendo wants to increase sales they should release some new colours (I'd love a red Wii U!)
Providing Australia even receives some of these, I probably won't have enough stars for anything anyway. Hate that I can't afford the Majora's Mask lamp.
Alright we finally get Paper Mario. Not that I'm buying it (have it on Wii VC and finished it - not looking to replay it) I'm just glad we might get some surprise new N64 games now. Tempted to get Epic Yarn though.
Nope, won't be rushing to play this at 6am, no matter how much I enjoyed the first round. Not sure how Australia will price this. Mario Party 10 was $10 less than usual ($70 instead of $80) but EB Games seems to be sticking with the $80 price tag on this.
@AshFoxX Well, it's actually 3 characters, since male/female Villager are combined into one slot, and it is the Animal Crossing DLC pack, so it was kinda expected that most of the characters would be Animal Crossing based.
I don't even care about 60Hz/50Hz. All I want are the games. I suppose the upside to only having 20 odd N64 games on the Wii is that it won't take Nintendo long to re-release them, so we can get new titles, ala DK64.
Anyway, I think I'll pass on the deal. Upgraded SM64 and bought DK64 already, but MKDS is pointless without multiplayer and I'm not really interested in WarioWare. I like that N64 games have dropped in price in Australia though (used to be 1000 Nintendo Points or $15, now $13.)
EB Games already did this to me in the first batch of cover plates last year. Sent me the mushroom one when I ordered the Wooden Mario one (which costs 2.5x more.) If they do that to me again I won't be a happy customer.
Has anyone ever thought that it's scalpers buying from scalpers on eBay? The ones selling it now are looking for a quick buck whereas the ones buying it now are in for the long haul, sitting on it while it grows in value. Of course there's your desperate fans too.
I think numbered scores are still useful, although a 10 point scale is a little restrictive. I'd much prefer a 100 point scale or at least using half numbers on the 10 point scale. NintendoLife's reviews tend to be very long, and I don't always have the time to read them, especially if I'm not that interested in the game, so yes I often read the conclusion and the score. I'm not really a fan of GameXplain's new review system, because it doesn't seem like they have a consistent set of 'emotions' and it's hard to determine which ones are better than others. (does 'liked' mean its really worth your time? I can say I liked a 6/10 game but there are plenty of others worth buying beforehand.)
Damn, the one time I'm getting a physical copy of a game and it comes with freebies lol. Oh well, I'll end up buying both themes anyway. Love the shuffle feature.
There are 3 3DS Zelda games all deserving of 10's, not just because they're Zelda games, but because they're amazing games. While I've replayed Ocarina of Time so many times already, it's still an enjoyable game (in fact I'm currently playing Master Quest 3D) which is a testament to its quality. ALBW was also an amazing experience, and that's coming from someone who didn't like ALTTP one bit. And Majora's Mask is my favourite game of all time, so it's always worthy of a 10 in my book.
Considering development has been on and off since OOT3D released in 2011, and the original game was made in a year, I don't think Nintendo's resources were wasted one bit. We definitely would not have seen a new game come out in place of MM3D next week. If you want to argue about a remake that isn't really necessary, then Xenoblade Chronicles 3D would be a much better bet, along with DKCR3D (or any Wii game really.)
Can't wait for next Sunday to pick up my limited edition 3DS XL and special edition copy of the game! All my dreams have come true at last haha.
I actually don't remember this in the original game, and I'm obsessed over Majora's Mask! Must have done it though because I completed the Bomber's Notebook.
