Masahiro Sakurai's Super Smash Bros. Special Presentation has ended, and though most of the included details had been leaked in some form over the past days, weeks and months, the main surprise came in how much content is available right now - server meltdown has already begun, apparently.
The following content is available right now from Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS:
- Ryu (new challenger + Suzaku stage) - $5.99/£5.39/€5.99 single platform / $6.99/£6.29/€6.99 on Wii U & 3DS
- Roy (new challenger) - $3.99/£3.59/€3.99 single platform / $4.99/£4.49/€4.99 on Wii U & 3DS
- Lucas (new challenger) - $3.99/£3.59/€3.99 single platform / $4.99/£4.49/€4.99 on Wii U & 3DS
- Mii Fighter Costumes (Akira and Jacky from Virtua Fighter, Heihachi from Tekken, Isabelle from Animal Crossing, MegaMan.EXE from Mega Man Battle Network, ZERO from Mega Man X, the Inkling Girl and Boy and the squid hat from Splatoon) - $0.75/£0.69/€0.79 each single platform / $1.15/£1.09/€1.19 on Wii U & 3DS / $6/£5.52/€6.32 for all on a single platform / $9.20/£8.72/€9.52 for all on Wii U & 3DS
- Dreamland Stage (based on the N64 original) - $1.99/£1.79/€1.99 single platform / $2.99/£2.69/€2.99 on Wii U & 3DS
- Miiverse Stage - Free, Wii U only
- All of the above in one bundle - $21.96/£19.88/€22.28 single platform, or both game versions together for $29.16/£26.68/€29.48
That's a lot of content that's all available from the in-game shop in both titles. What will you be buying once you're able to get past server issues?

Why is this in dollars? Isn't Nintendolife a UK site?
Servers have suffered a TKO! It's all over folks!
Two things...I need that stand that Sakurai used for his amiibo and I am going to be stalking sites to get a Ryu. This may be the first one I buy two of to keep one unopened.
Can't wait to get Lucas! .... After the E-Shop starts working...
Hopefully this can lead to a Mother 3 localization!
@Kat This has been bugging me lately...
yeah!
Seems the eShop has suffered a crippling stroke thanks to Ryu and co., sigh.
Wait, are the other N64 stages available too, or just Kirby's Dream Land?
I'm getting it all!!! If I can ever acces the eshop...
Edit: I'm in!
I'm guessing it's in dollars because it was announced in dollars in the Direct.
Wish this was priced as well as the MK8 DLC... :/
@Nicolai Just Dreamland. The other two will be available later on.
Dreamland is just battlefield with a slight breeze, is it worth it?
They used Blazing Sword music instead of Roy's Binding Blade music in his reveal trailer, lol.
Virtua Fighter skins? Has a Virtua Fighter game ever came out on a Nintendo console before? Edit: Actually there has been one: Virtua Quest on the Gamecube. Interesting.
On Friday I will be ordering a copy of Super Smash Bros for the Wii U. We already have it for the 3DS so I will be getting the bundle for both games next month. My son will love it.
What are the UK prices and will we also have a bundle option?
UK prices here for anyone interested http://www.smashbros.com/sp/en-uk/dlc/. Interesting currency conversion as usual.
Kind of pricey for me but I'll get the characters and stages eventually. I'm not really into the costumes. I haven't even bought the ones from before.
Ryu, do not care about Roy or Lucas
@TheLobster
In the European/UK Direct we got the prices in Pounds (£)/Euros (€).
I'll probably just buy the characters and the Kirby stage.
I don't really care much for the Mii Costumes (although I might pick the Inkling ones up if we never get them as actual playable characters)
@dinosauryoshi Pricey so pricey, I wish they just did a character and stage bundle at a discount don't want the costumes.
So that's three characters, and Dreamland... summing up to $19.96! Thank goodness I have a $20 eshop card!
Pricing seems rather on the high side to me. The cost in GBP converted from USD is roughly £18, however we're actually getting charged £26.68. That nets you:
> 3 new characters
> 2 new stages
> 9 new costumes
In comparison, paying £11 for the Mario Kart 8 DLC got you:
> 6 new characters
> 16 new stages
> 8 new karts
I don't mind paying for extra content but there seems to be such a disparity between the two games, I can't help but feel that Smash's pricing is way too excessive. I can almost buy a brand new copy of Splatoon for that price!
@Kat maybe that is the currency used in the Nintendo Direct?
I gotta say, the asking price is a bit steep considering for nearly $30 (if you want both games), you'd only get 3 characters, 2 stages and some costumes.
@Kat This was presented as part of E3 in Los Angeles, CA, USA, and that's how it was shown on-screen. But I agree it would make sense if they showed it in pounds too. Perhaps there are just more users from the U.S. that visit Nintendolife.
It's just so expensive! I paid only $12 for the Mario Kart 8 bundle; this bundle is filled mostly with stuff I don't care about for $22 on Wii U. Picking what I want and getting the 3 characters and the new stage is only 6 bucks cheaper. I don't think I'll buy anything. There's plenty of characters already.
I'm trying to get Lucas, Roy and Ryu, but I'm getting server issues for now. I'll probably get the new stages as well at some point
I'll grab Ryu and the stages. Maybe mega man x costume as well. Everything else meh.
Maybe I'll just get the Splatoon costumes for .75. Is there anyway to create a Mii so that it doesn't look like it's high when it's wearing the costume?
Only getting Ryu, Lucas, and Roy. The stages too. I definitely could care less about the costumes. And the pricing? Geez...
Funny, I thought one of ZS Samus' alt costumes made her look like Sarah Bryant. Now they've made Jacky as a Mii too.
"All of the above in one bundle - $21.96 single platform, or both game versions together for $29.16"
Jumped the DLC shark Nintendo has.
But of course they were never thinking about DLC for Smash.
http://www.videogamer.com/wiiu/super_smash_bros_u/news/super_smash_bros_sakurai_on_reggie_patch_support_and_the_problem_with_leaderboards.html
"VideoGamer.com: Do you have plans for any additional characters or stages as DLC?
Masahiro Sakurai, Game Designer, Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS: I understand that DLC could add a lot to the appeal of Smash Bros., and I appreciate that a major part of the excitement for these games come from which characters will appear in the roster, so I think fans could really enjoy DLC that could keep this excitement going. However, I think there might be criticism that we are cutting up content to sell characters one by one, or that we are adding things later that should have been there from the start.
Creating a single fighter involves a huge investment, and we've already been giving it our all and investing a lot of work in the characters currently available in the game and, I think it's an incredible package in terms of the sheer amount of content in the game. But it might be that people may not understand and may think that I am not offering enough by just looking at DLC itself.
In light of this, we always need to weigh up both sides of this topic and carefully consider whether it really is best to have DLC or not.
However, what I can say now about paid DLC is that we aren't working on anything at the moment. We've put all our efforts into making the actual game. Creating DLC would involve large additional costs and require the involvement of a lot of people. I can’t yet give you an answer about whether the price would justify the costs and criticisms mentioned above."
@HipsterDashie sadly Mario Kart characters and Smash characters are not the same. One requires modeling, texturing and one or two animations (victory, death stare, hit, loss) whereas the other needs that + 10 A/B attack animations, 2+ weapon animations. Movement animations, Dodge animations, hitboxes, frame data, effects and a massive amount of balancing the character against the other fighters and then things like Kirby forms. Its also worth noting when compared to other DLC fighter from fighting games Smash character bundles are cheaper
If Nintendo thinks that all these fighters are popular enough in the Nintendo community then why don't they start getting these fighters on the Wii U?!?!?!?
Also a little put-off by the price (I can see it's more of an issue for us in the UK due to Nintendo's quite crazy exchange rate), but I'll be picking up Ryu for sure. Probably nothing else at this stage.
Definitely getting all characters and maybe the Inkling costumes. You know, whenever the eShop lobby clears out. =)
I'll pick up Ryu today. Will wait on Lucas and Roy.
Good lord, these awful servers! I want to give you my money, Nintendo, but you won't let me!
I will not be nickel and dimed. I'll wait until they have a bundle for everything. That being said the Ryu character is quite unique and very interesting. Too bad
I'll get Roy and the Megaman BN costume. I'm in the fence on Ryu, he's unique but I never cared for SF. Plus, the prices are really high, wished this was more like Mario Kart.
@HipsterDashie There's a huge difference between Mario Kart and Smash that accounts for the price difference. The balancing required for a character in Smash far exceeds re skinning Mario or Peach to look like a Furry and put them in pre existing karts.
I wish there was a bundle for just the characters. I rarely use Mii Fighters so I don't care about the costumes.
I don't play Smash that often, so will be holding off on these.
I can see $4-5 for new characters but $4-5 for old characters is kind of lame. I'll fire up Melee and Brawl and play them for free.
Woah, that's a LOT of stuff.
@dinosauryoshi So expensive. Compare the value to the MK8 DLC...
Nintendo eShop working for me. Big night play Smash I guess. Goodbye Splatoon for today!
@BlueNitrous We did get the Mega Drive port of Virtua Fighter 2 on the Wii Virtual Console.
So there isn't any real benefit to getting the pack, right? Ill hold off on those costumes if so. (U.S)
Ryu is probably the most bang for your buck as he's a new fighter that also had extra work for all the different moves (strong versions vs weak versions, Street Fighter inputs), plus it comes with the stage!
Can we get a bundle for just the characters? The mii crap is pointless
Pricing for Canadian players:
$27.88 for a single system, $37.08 for both systems
Ryu + Suzaku Castle $7.49, $8.79 for both
Lucas $4.99, $6.29 both
Roy $4.99, $6.29 both
.
.
.... etc
I hate the fluctuating dollar.......
I think Nintendo vs Capcom is going to be a thing... They put a ton of effort into Roy and have been very good to Capcom in Smash Bros. It would only make sense, it's a massive crossover for a franchise that loves it's crossovers.
I found that smash bros direct to be kinda. ..blah Roy was in the game before for free, and so was Lucas, but now we gotta pay for them? !? And splatoon is in only as costumes?!? And I'm sorry, but I can think of alot of characters that deserved to be in the game WAY before Ryu should have been added. I'm hoping the nintendo world championships and e3 direct have better surprises then this had.
If I ever get on the eShop, All of the Above in one bundle.
@SilentS yea, i think that's too expensive for what your getting, especially since Roy and Lucas where free in older smash bros games. I won't be getting them until there's a sale.
Am I the only person who actually likes the Mii costumes as well as everything else? Well, I suppose that is probably because I am always playing Smash with my pals, and we use Miis.
Who actually wants the Mii costumes though <_____<
but YEA RYU in Smash
NOPE! Too MUCH, Will not be buying and I have both Wii U and 3DS versions.
When I finally get on the eshop and try to use my gift card, I disconnect after submitting the code. It was consumed and I didn't get any funds added to my account.
Sad face.
@BlueNitrous VF was a flagship SEGA franchise (and IMO still the greatest technical fighter ever made) Aside from vitrua quest you are correct that Nintendo never got any other games...but If we have to get sonic can't we get representation from franchises that haven't run into the ground?
@HipsterDashie @abe_hikura @thesilverbrick I see your point on animations and character rendering, you are correct to say it is more work on characters. HOWEVER....to design and program 16 full courses is a massive task and FAR exceeds all of the time/efforts spent on, frankly, all of the smash dlc added up so far. Smash fans really are getting ripped off compared to the mk8 dlc!!!
I'm pretty disgusted Nintendo chose not to have a characters-only bundle (or characters+stages). I don't want the pointless costumes.
I'll be buying all the characters and stages anyway -_-
costumes will be wiiu only for me, getting all the characters for both.
@Jazzer94 Yeah, where ARE the UK prices? I know others have added them but this site is becoming very American orientated lately.....
So 1st, thanks Nintendo for basically robbing me today. $30 for Dlc. I have to buy it but really. You are a generation late to this party.
2nd. I hope these cross overs mean we might see Mario and Zelda in a virtua fighter wii u game. Or maybe Mario in splatoon. Surprise e3 predictions? With Nintendo who knows. Now I need to go spend my eshop balance.
Too expensive, I'll just wait for a sale...
I'm more excited about the Mii outfit, especially MegaMan.EXE (my favorite MegaMan series) than the new characters. I guess it's because the leaks suck the surprised out of it.
Even though I'm interested in like $14 worth of contents, I'm still going to spend $29.16 just to get more bang for my buck.
Why all on the same day?! Ugh! Gonna have to get an eShop card now. A lot of great content though. Hopefully they continue to keep Smash alive this way.
@MyLegGuy Call nintendo. I'm sure they will get you your credit.
OMG kirby-Ryu is sooo cute... I may have to buy another kirby and make him look like that.
@Jazzer94 agreed! Don't care about mii stuff so a bundle with the rest that's reasonably priced would be great. It's too expensive at the minute, even just compared to US prices.
Ugh, I forgot how annoying Ryu's voice is in English. I always had his voice set to Japanese when I played the SFIV and MVC3 games. To bad there's no option to switch settings like that in Smash. Still getting him of course. I won't get Roy and Lucas just yet, I will eventually just not right now.
I'm just gonna wait a bit so that I won't have to worry about servers suffering.
Happy day, people!!!
Still couldn't download, because of some error
Prices are a bit steep but I'll be getting the fighters and stages now; if not at some point.
@NintendoFan64
Agreed. I'm going to wait a couple of days until things settle down.
I am not buying any DLC until they finish releasing it and I hope they do a discounted bundle because these prices are getting expensive when you look at everything. There is also a lot there when less than a year ago, you said you had no plans for doing paid DLC...
Also, I told you so to those people who claimed that the stages will be free. I told you that they will get you to buy some, if not most and you never believed me.
I never liked the Mii characters and/or costumes until I tried them out after the first round of DLC. Now, I love using the Mii fighters and the customization and variety is great. I look forward to more Mii costumes, as now, you can really have a great variety of Mii characters.
I'll just buy both Roy and Ryu for 3DS/U and sell the 3DS versions to a friend for half the price or something. So the two characters I'm interested in will cost me 6€ in total. Plus a new stage.
Disgraceful conduct by Nintendo with this. It used to be I could buy a Nintendo game knowing I was getting the full game for the retail price. Now they are just as bad as the rest!
At least with Mario Kart it was good value, but £3.50 for a character! Or half the price of the entire game again for a couple extra stages and characters, plus some skins?! Robbery.
Just ryu for me i think, maybe the virtua fighter skins
@Towelie You did get the entire game. This is a new product developed after Smash Bros, and they are not going to make it (money and time invested) to give it away for free. A little pricey, yes, but this is like the expansions that have existed for ages. People think DLC is necessarily something different.
RYU!!! Gonna grab that one at least.
I think i'll get Ryu and the stages at least for now.
@spoon07 Oh no, you're still a ball after all these years? I'm sorry I never did anything to save you. Are you still getting kicked around by that bully?
@Towelie Seeing how bad the wii u and a bit mediocre the 3DS is doing, making dlc and figurines is a easier way to stay afloat. If the Wii U had the same high sales as the Wii or even the half it, they wouldn't release incomplete games and dlc.
I bet they are not very happy about this but they dont have a better choice at the moment.
Rather expensive. I'll be getting Roy, might get Ryu later.
Paid for the Dreamland stage and now it won't let me download it, sort it out Nintendo!!!!
Has anyone even gotten the 1.0.8 update yet? I downloaded all the characters and stages, but can't even use them yet because I'm still at 1.0.7.
A bit pricy, though acceptable. Mario Kart 8 DLC was priced much better.
@kuribo4 But it isn't like the expansions, it's considerably poorer value for money, which is why I included the reference to MK8, whose DLC was more like an expansion. Yes the characters need less work in MK than SB, but the value is not there for the SB DLC
@minotaurgamer It's fair enough they have pressure from shareholders to make money, but they are losing a lot of the good will that has kept the Wii U sales from being even worse.
20 euro Max for both games all DLC would be most I would pay.
Sakurai had his amiibos set up wonderfully in a case. I don't like the idea of amibo, but damn it looks good. Anyone complaining about prices, go take a look at the new 40 dollar Destiny expansion. Yeah.
Well it is basically 20 euro without the Mii customes.
(Roy = 5, Lucas = 5, Ryu = 7, Dreamland = 3)
Roy doesn't look too bad, though I'm still worried about how much Marth they left in.
But Ryu... holy balls, Ryu! I wasn't expecting much, but that was even worse! His design, his voice, his moves... nothing fits into Smash at all. I thought he might, just to try and accept that he might show up, but that looked so incredibly awful, I'm starting to feel bad for Street Fighter - and I hate Street Fighter!
As for new "stages" - meh, nothing that really stands out as exciting. Well, looks like Nintendo's DLC content still doesn't live up to the games they're for.
roys our boy!
I bought Roy but he plays a lot like Marth albeit a little bit faster. Maybe I will buy the stages
£6.29 to access one character and one stage on both copies of essentially the same game that I bought for two platforms is more than I'm willing to pay, personally. That's the same price I paid for don't starve what with the buy one get one free promotion. I would love to try out Ryu, though.
All in all it was a disappointing direct for me. Online tournaments were promised, and promoted, prior to release and I don't think it should've taken this long to implement that feature. It irritates me a little that so much paid add on content is good to go but online tournaments still aren't. I've no problem at all with DLC in principle.
@Plateface don't quote me, but i believe it has a higher ceiling than battlefield. If they stayed faithful to the original that is.
I plan to get the characters and the stages for now. The Mii costumes don't really appeal to me.
@HipsterDashie unfortunately got to add on VAT - which takes it to £22. So we're still seeing a dodgy price conversion. It frustrates me that so many companies take advantage like this
@Totaldude911 , Yeah, I love this character ^^
Seems expensive.. Although I really like how they priced everything out individually. A bundled discount pack would of been nice, even if you saved only a few dollars. Looking forward to seeing the new characters within the competitive scene!
Anyone know if the Gamestop inkling code gets you the stuff on both consoles or just one?
Even though most of this was leaked that video was still really enjoyable and satisfying; so that shows you just how good this content was
Shame I still haven't managed to enjoy actually playing this fighter
@SilentS
I understand you. I live in Canada too and I think I will wait and hope for a discount some time in the future. Prices are way too high. $40 only for DLC is ridiculous. I already paid the games $64.99+tx (Wii U) and $45.99+tx (3DS). Way too much in my opinion.
Just noticed the absence of the promised KK Slider Costume...
@HipsterDashie
In fairness, MK8 characters are a little more than eye candy. Although the courses are a hefty addition
Isabelle is getting everywhere! SHE IS TAKING OVER! RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!
@HipsterDashie: Do keep in mind that is the cost for the 3DS & Wii U version, but i agree that is quite steep for DLC. Also, our tax gets added in with the price, while (unless I'm mistaken and correct me if I'm wrong), they pay tax after the transaction. So it may seem cheaper, but they are most likely paying similar amounts.
This DLC is WAY TOO EXPENSIVE for my liking. Then again I'm not a huge Smash fan "I don't even have Smash 4 yet, though I will purchase it at some point".
@VortexTraveller Just noticed that too. Wonder what happened to him?
Not too keen on Smash in terms of actually playing it, but the detail that's gone into planning and implementing new content is really admirable. That's A LOT of content that seems designed specifically with fans of different franchises in mind and not just to turn a profit. Expensive, maybe, but can't see how it could be done for less without compromise. This is video game design at its best. Nice move with the YouTube integration too. And gotta get me those mii fighter amiibo.
Meh. Don't want to spend money on these atm. I'll wait for King K. Rool and just keep playing Splatoon. I do want to know how I get this Olimar amiibo.
@Neko_Rukiafan This DLC is cheap compared to the competition.
Seriously, look at what Blizzard, Warner Bros, Capcom, EA and the others charge for DLC. Many fighters would sell you that $30 content for $100.
Yeah! I'll definitely get Ryu. Actually that alone is a reason to play Smash again for me.
Ryu and Roy are all I'm going to buy.I haven't bought any Smash bros dlc yet actually.
Bought the full package. Great content at a great price. Love the way Nintendo builds up to this E3.
These prices are terrible.
First of all, who the hell is buying these stupid mii costumes? Why on earth would I want to dress as Mega Man, when I can be Mega Man?! Yes, I'm willing to fend off comments such as, "it's not mega man, it's mega man.exe"
But seriously these prices man. $4-5 is on the steep end for just a character. I understand that they need to make two versions for the Wii U and 3DS, but why must I pay more to get both? I've already gone above and beyond by getting both versions of the game!
@Jenraux It's not bad for one or two characters, but I agree it gets a bit pricy if you plan on buying several. I'd have liked a discount for those who buy all four characters.
Nintendo is now selling a 99 cent 3DS app to use the 3DS as controller for Smash Wii U. You can now see it on the eShop.
Ryu just lost cool points for being in this lame wannabe fighting game.
It took me a few hours after all this was announced but I finally was able to get Ryu for Smash on my WiiU and 3DS. Now to keep an eye out for the release date for the Ryu Amiibo, getting 2 of course. One to open and one to keep unopened. Unlike the 2 Marth's I lucked up on the other day, Im keeping one and selling the other.
My funds are limited, I am waiting for release dates on for the second half of the year first. Xenoblade Chronicles X comes first, then possibly Splatoon. Unless something vastly superior pops up.
@Shane904
It looks like that code only gets you the wii u version. That's total bull if you ask me. Now if you want those pointless costumes on your 3DS it'll cost you $4. They really couldn't cut us a break I guess!
I've got the new fighters and stages, and I'm really enjoying Rob and Lucas. Ryu is cool, but doesn't really fit my fighting style.
Who's idea was it to give him an english voice? Ryu doesn't speak English in SF and it sounds terrible!
Mr Game & Watch Amiibo? Yeaaaaaahhh!!!
@HipsterDashie You might have a point about the stages, but you can't compare the characters in Smash Bros. to the ones in Mario Kart. In Mario Kart they're little more than cosmetic changes, while they play a lot differently in Smash Bros. and take up a lot more development time and resources to make, so they should be quite a bit more expensive than the Mario Kart characters.
@PokeMario Then just buy the characters. I don't know if everyone has noticed, but only the 3DS & Wii U system bundles come at a discount. The costume bundle and overall bundle are exactly the same prices as if you bought everything separately. Those bundles only cut down on the number of trips to the eShop.
Why haven't I bought SSB4 yet??
I wonder if Roy will get added to Code Name S.T.E.A.M now?
I'm not sure about Lucas marking Mother 3 coming westward either sadly. His trophy description says "from the Japan-only game". Would be odd to release that only to then reveal a few days later it's not going to be Japan-only anymore.
Meh. I was hoping the Splatoon costumes would be free for those with the amiibos.
I am picking up the whole bundle package. Wow what a treat!
Although I voted for Ryu in the ballot (which now I'll have to go back and vote for another character.......Shovel Knight or Angry Birds maybe?), I thought his inclusion was simply a no-brainer if they're touting this game with "legacy" characters. Can't wait to upgrade my SSMB game!!
sigh. Roy and Lucas are a given because they were in previous games and still somewhat relevant to Nintendo's future, but Ryu is one of the biggest wastes of a roster slot I've ever seen. He's already in too many fighting games, and Capcom has pretty much pulled 90% of support for Nintendo platforms...bet hey, let's give them free promotion through a insanely precious roster slot by allowing them to fill it with their Goku-level relevant character...dumb, so dumb.
Roy is also a HUGE waste as we already had four Fire Emblem characters, five if you count male and female Robin.
Roy is freaking awesome! Best FE character in Smash imo
$22 worth of DLC? Gag me.
I will probably buy some of the content little bit at a time. I am not really entice to buy all this content all at once for the hefty price of $20 which excludes the Mii custumes which I don't care about. The new characters are returning clones which I figured Nintendo would cheap out to do that and Ryu is the least interesting character in the Street Fighting series. Nintendo did DLC better with Mario Kart 8 and especially Hyrule Warriors.
@Ogbert
"I wonder if Roy will get added to Code Name S.T.E.A.M now?
That is a really good question. If I were to guess though, probably not. The sales of Code Name STEAM have apparently been dismal, so I doubt they would waste their time.
Having the FE amiibo functionality was an advantage for the game, but Nintendo squandered it since FE characters are among the hardest to find. I have searched high and low and the only FE character I was lucky enough to get was Ike. Note, that I am speaking from NA, so I'm not sure how your amiibo situation is.
@MoonKnight7 you don't play DoA do you? Makes these prices seem tame.
overpriced
especially when there's the steam summer sale now on, and you can get whole entire games for the cost of this dlc
@rjejr made the best comment by pointing out nintendo's hypocrisy with this dlc
@eza
And forget the Steam sale (never seems fair to me to compare PC prices to console prices what w/ the rampant PC piracy and all) but the Humble Nindie Bundle allowed me to buy 12 games (between Wii U and 3DS, some were duplicates but 12 codes = 12 games) for only $10. My kid wanted Ryu but I told him he could play 2 or 3 of those games instead. He did like the Miiverse level though. Apparently "Illumanti confirmed" means something to kids these days.
Wow... this blew me away. I mean, Ryu really rocks like back in the SNES version (my favored version of SF)... but all those costumes and crossovers; Tekken, Virtua Fighter, Megaman X and Network. My wallet will be dry after this. AWESOME!!
It's to much! Im not forking over around 25$ just for 3 characters and 2 stages, it's just not worth it!
I just cant justify these prices. Nearly $40 for what amounts to 3 characters and 2 stages, when the full game already cost me $80 is absurd. Mario Kart did it right, not this. Not particularly interested in buying one of the characters or stages individually either. Just gonna stick to the free Miiverse stage.
@Ryu_Niiyama
"you don't play DoA do you? Makes these prices seem tame."
"Seem tame" is the key part there. It's still overpriced, and DoA deserves a separate tier of money grabbing.
@hYdeks So by your logic this game should be like 15 bucks because you the characters were free in previous smash bros even though they weren't b/c you still payed for the game. There is no reason they shouldn't charge fpr Roy and Lucas, they spent the time making them did they not?
I just want a bundle that includes the DLC characters and stages for one reasonable price... hopefully when everyone is released, this will happen... Or they should have done a "season pass" for any new characters and stages.
I almost peed in my pants when I heard that Ryu was a DLC character for SSB. Looks really cool.
