Another week begins, which means it's time to gaze upon the download treats heading to Europe this week. It's a pretty strong line-up, with two encouraging Nindie arrivals on the Wii U, two GBA Mega Man titles, another SEGA Classic, the latest 3DS retail arrival from Intelligent Systems and a whole load of discounts. Plenty of options to consider, so let's get to it.

Wii U eShop

Ultratron (Curve Digital, €8.49 / £6.50 until 28th May, normally €9.99 / £7.99) - For those with a yearning for a retro-style arena-based shmup, this may be an ideal option. From the team behind Titan Attacks, this brings the '80s to mind yet has flashy HD visuals to boot. It looks rather fun, with the bonus that it has 40 levels and a whole load of special weapons to tackle; we'll see whether it wins the battle or should be blown to smithereens in our review.

Nihilumbra (Beautifun Games, €6.99 / £5.49 until 28th May, normally €8.99 / £6.99) - It's taken a little longer than expected to make its way to Wii U, but does arrive with a unique co-op mode utilising the GamePad. This is an adventure puzzle title in which you manipulate the environment with coloured paint, while it's also boasting an attractive art style and involving narrative. We'll see whether this delivers on its potential in our review.

Wii U eShop Temporary Discount

Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara (Capcom, €5.99 / £4.79 until 28th May, normally €14.99 / £11.99)

Resident Evil Revelations (Capcom, €14.99 / £11.99 until 28th May, normally €49.99 / £39.99)

Wooden Sen'SeY (Neko Entertainment, €2.99 / £2.39 until 21st May, normally €9.99 / £8.00)

Wii U Virtual Console

Mega Man Zero 4 (Capcom, €6.99 / £6.29) - The final instalment in this series and the latest GBA arrival on Wii U, this naturally introduces new foes and abilities; you'll now have a Z Knuckle punch, be able to improve your stats from destroyed enemy parts and change the weather. There's certainly plenty going on, and we'll see whether this lives up to its predecessors in our review.

Mega Man Battle Network 2 (Capcom,€6.99 / £6.29) - A continuation of the RPG gameplay introduced in the original, new features are worked into this entry; this GBA title also picks up a few months after the first game's story, too. Not your classic Mega Man action, but still rather rewarding - we gave this a strong recommendation in our Mega Man Battle Network 2 review.

3DS eShop

3D Thunder Blade (SEGA, €4.99 / £4.49) - Another terrific SEGA arcade makes its way to the 3DS; this time around you're piloting an attack helicopter through tricky terrain and combat scenarios. This M2 remaster includes stereoscopic 3D, Circle Pad Pro / C-Stick support, remixed music and more besides. We'll gear up and take to the skies for our review.

3DS Retail Download

Code Name: S.T.E.A.M. (Nintendo, €39.99, £34.99) - A new IP developed by Intelligent Systems, this takes place in an alternate history of literary heroes and Abraham Lincoln fighting to defend a Steampunk London. With over-the-shoulder strategy this is certainly a fresh approach, and in addition to the campaign there are local and online multiplayer modes. Despite the occasional design flaw we were big fans of this in our Code Name: S.T.E.A.M. review. Available from 15th May.
