It was a good E3 for sure, looking at the list of announced/shown off games there's quite a lot I want to buy, it's just annoying that most of it is 2015 or late 2014 games, with nothing in the immediate future. Zelda was amazing, but so short and Star Fox wasn't shown.
I loved the humour Nintendo showed at the beginning which shows they DO listen to us. Treehouse Live was also a really cool idea. (What else could make me stay up until 4am for 3 days in a row?) Although it was a bit long, not every game needed 30-60 minute demos. I hope they do it again next year though. I don't even remember why I liked the press conferences!
The Smash Bros Invitational was a neat event too. It was on too late for me to watch live, and then I couldn't sit through a whole 2.5 hours of it lol, but the atmosphere there was amazing.
I do wonder why it's taking until 2015 to release. The demo, though basic as it is, works completely fine now. All they need to do is refine it with more features, graphical styles and implement Miiverse sharing. I guess it shall be near perfect by 2015. Also, how can they add other franchises and still call it Mario Maker?
@erv Good point. Most people toss up between Microsoft and Sony, since they are similiar machines, so I'd imagine a lot of that statistic came from 360 owners who hated what Microsoft were doing with the Xbox One. It's a very odd choice to go from a Wii to a PS4, considering how widely different they are.
I haven't been asking for a new IP. Nintendo has enough already that they don't need to make more. The problem I have with their new IPs is they lack the charm of established IPs and usually go for a genre I don't like. It's near impossible for them to create something as good and successful as Mario or Zelda. So yes, I would have preferred a Majora's Mask remake, because its not a crime to want to play my favourite game that's aging badly with a modern twist. I don't hate what they're doing though, it just isn't for me.
If I don't see Majora's Mask I will be disappointed as usual, but other announcements can make up for that. Zelda U, MK8 DLC, Smash 3DS release date (soon) and confirming Smash Wii U for at least December, Yarn Yoshi, Galaxy 3, some cool NFC game, N64/GCN VC will all go a long way to making me happy. I've never played Star Fox, F-Zero or Metroid in a proper capacity so I can't say I'd be too excited to see them.
Ok so the battle mode pic is fake, but there's a slight possibility the character roster is real (not likely though since the battle pic looked real too.) I do hope MK8 DLC is announced, with some DLC arenas and King Boo.
The thing that makes the roster fake is that the person is hovering over Donkey Kong. I mean if you were leaking this to the internet, why on earth would you not highlight one of the new characters? Especially Plessie, I need to see how that looks.
I saw the picture, "Mask" and "Wii U" and got a little too excited before I remembered that E3 is still 24 hours away... Please announce a remake Nintendo! Wii U would be even better than 3DS. I'd also like to see a sequel of sorts to MM, however unlikely I think that would be.
I don't think I can handle anymore item abuse leaving me with 5th-8th place every race. Got second twice in a row and thats it. If you dont get out to an early lead you're doomed to middle of the pack results.
Ugh, like I needed X Factor shoved down my throat some more. I don't like the song, and I won't be accepting her Mii. Nothing personal against her though.
I'll join in tomorrow. Just finished up from a couple hours online. No connection issues whatsoever today! Only had 2 disconnections in total since release. That's with Australia's subpar internet too.
System speed has really improved now. Turning it on is much quicker, hard drive loading is quicker, home menu opening/closing is quicker, notifications opens/closes quicker. But yeah, I'd really like some folders now. I've got stuff on every single page now, and it's annoying to scroll through them all.
@JQuest Thanks for that info, was wondering what was wrong! I think I can solve your problem too. When on the Wii U menu, click your Mii icon and it will bring up a new menu, where you can select remember password and auto sign in. Should work from the quick start menu (although I obviously haven't tried it yet!)
I don't see playing video games and uploading them to youtube as a real job though. Do it as a hobby by all means, but not as a primary source of income. Besides, as plenty of people use adblock, how much money do you really make?
Mario Kart 8 download all the way! It's technically the second cheapest option in Australia when you account for all the promos. Throw in a free game and there should be no complaining about the price. I'm on the fence about buying the Minish Cap since I already have it for free on my 3DS.
Well, I wouldn't entirely rule out the possibility of upside down racing. Certainly makes it more interesting XD I'm glad to see Nintendo giving MK8 the promotion it deserves though.
Well when I got my wii in 2007 I had never experienced online gaming before, and was quite eager to get onto the wii shop. However, we didn't have wifi back then (not until a year before the wii u) so I had to purchase the infamous nintendo wifi usb connector, install the software on my computer (which had to be running) and pray to god it would work today. Despite many ragings, I did have many good hours. I bought mario strikers charged purely because it was the first wifi game for wii (and regretted it because it was not my cup of tea) but mario kart wii was the shining example of pure fun. Brawl was useless sadly and I abandoned it. Eventually I got a DSi and caught up with mario kart DS and wild world. When we finally got wireless I was glad to ditch the usb connector for reliable gaming lol
It's nice to see Nintendo being generous with their games these days, with all the free games promotions they've been doing it's actually convinced me to buy the game! Having said that, I've got no one to give these demos too, so I'll offer them up here.
If people want to use a gamecube controller so badly, why don't they just buy an adapter to plug their actual gamecube controllers into a wii remote? Yes it will function like a classic controller, but it sounds like this one will too. The Wii U pro controller is still better though.
Surprisingly, Mario Kart Wii actually worked on my Wii U this time, so I had my last bit of fun online. Thanks for the memories Nintendo WiFi Connection!
If we're going to follow the astrological rule for the 3DS version, then that means the Wii U version, slated for a Winter 2014 release, only has a 10 day release window before it becomes inaccurate. So I'm going to stick to the normal passing of seasons (1st of the month) and hope it's not delayed until September. Part of me still dreams of Nintendo showing it off at E3 followed by an "available after the presentation" but I know that would cause an even bigger meltdown of Nintendo's servers than the Christmas one lol.
Yeah, GameXplain did this video a few weeks ago, and much better too. Definitely a major improvement, makes me wonder how I put up with Mario Kart Wii!
I think they'd be better off by shoving it into a Wii U bundle, perhaps with Wii Fit U too, rather than trying to sell it for full price. I might buy Baseball if it improves but there's no chance I'll get boxing.

Re: Nintendo TVii Update Adds New Features and Improves Interface
Yeah, I wish Nintendo would just remove the icon, since it will never be available in Australia.
Re: Wii Fit U Update Adds New Features, Extra Challenge Courses for Walking and Climbing
Weird. I just fired this game up 2 days ago!

Re: E3 2014: Amiibo Figures Will Have A Price Tag Comparable To Skylanders And Disney Infinity Toys
So, what do the Skylanders figures cost? I'll buy ones for my favourite characters and ones that will be useful across multiple titles.

Re: Bayonetta Download Code Included With Retail and eShop Copies of Bayonetta 2
Thank god. E3 actually made me interested in Bayonetta 2 and I thought I'd have to go with the physical game.
Re: E3 2014: Code Name: S.T.E.A.M., A Brand New IP, Unveiled for 3DS

@SecondServing
You weren't actually the first.

I'm really interested to see how it will work for Mario Kart. Do we really have to wait until Christmas though?
Re: E3 2014: Wii U Legend Of Zelda Revealed, Confirmed For 2015 Release
This was probably the highlight of E3. Looks and sounds amazing! Now I need to see more!

Wow didn't see Nintendo actually listening to the requests for this!
Re: E3 2014: Bayonetta 2 Comes With The Original Game, As Well As Link And Samus Costumes
That's great news! Although I don't think I will be buying the game, doesn't look like my style.

Delay sucks, looks like we're in for another long game drought.

This was the one release date that made me happy. Bring it on!
Re: E3 2014: Mario Maker Officially Announced for Wii U, Coming 2015
Looks great! Have no idea why it needs to release in 2015 though... It's not the new Zelda y'know.
Re: E3 2014: Mario Party 10 Subtly Announced for Wii U, Amiibo-Compatible
The car returning puts me off the game already. Just go back to the original format!

Re: Nintendo Download: 5th June (North America)
I see what they did there with that $10.01 price lol
Re: Nintendo@E3 2014 Community Now Live on Miiverse
@Jazzer94 I'd prefer that they all have a place to be stupid together, rather than spilling out into every other community.

Re: Zelda Williams Will Be at E3 2014 "Doing Something Extra Special"

@NintendoMonkey
Methinks he just doesn't know how to play the game, like most people who hated it after playing it for 10 minutes.
Re: Video: Nintendo Shows Off Photos With Mario in New Trailer
Guys, it's not $10 for one card. It's $10 for $10 of eShop credit, which includes a bonus card... Nobody said you had to buy them for the cards.

Re: Photos With Mario Official Website Launches With Details of $10 eShop Cards
@JaxonH The eShop does let you add only the necessary funds to purchase a game if you're paying by credit card. Very useful feature for me.

Always makes me laugh when Americans complain about prices. Try paying $80 for Wii U games and then you'll see that $60 is a steal.

Perhaps because they respect him? Unlike most of the underage brats on Miiverse that can't even spell his name right.
