The original Donkey Kong Country on SNES is one of my favorite games, and this seems to have similar gameplay so I'll probably try playing through it soon. Hopefully we get the other Donkey Kong Land games on Switch soon! (edit: I thought this was the DKC ports but I guess that was for gameboy color and this is something different. That makes me even more excited to try this one out!)

@MeanBeanEgg Yeah they probably don't care about Nintendo fans, but at the same time if they are making a lot of money from Nintendo titles they might not want to stop making them.

It would be good to have enough supply for the (likely) high demand. This would be a pretty big launch, and hopefully they won't all sell out right away!

The fact that they immediately didn't decline Sony worries me. Hopefully they do the right thing, and if not, hopefully Nintendo can find new devs fit for the job for Mario & Luigi and Pokemon Mystery Dungeon.

I would do the 'Mario Party Jamboree version 1.1.1 update for GOTY' joke but I already did that with Splatoon a little while ago

@Lofoten they think they're doing good by 'preserving' games through emulation. That's some people's excuse anyways. (I'm not against game preservation but poor excuse for the existence of playing all these games for free illegally)

I don't like Sony and don't really care for anything they do gaming related, but this would make me like Sony even less.

I'm pretty sure Sony had lay-offs at some point this year, but they can afford buying game studios? JUST GIVE MARIO AND LUIGI A BREAK

If Brothership doesn't sell well then Nintendo might not see a point in continuing the franchise especially if this goes through. That would mean they'd have to find a whole new team, and it simply might not be worth it to them.

if DLC can get nominated for GOTY then we might as well get the Switch version 19.0.0 nominated. This is honestly ridiculous

also TTYD and Brothership not being here is a crime, although it is nice that I don't really have any reason to watch this XD

That being said 1 a week isn't terrible, but 2 a week would be nice.

This game is so good, definitely my favorite SNES title. Hopefully we get a new entry soon!

Mario & Luigi Brothership: already on 3rd ocean and I’ve been continually pleasantly surprised with this game and is even better than I thought it would be! The events of chapter 3 so far have been pretty cool, can’t wait to see what else the game holds!

I don't really care about their opinions, but Paper Mario TTYD deserves GOTY this year! (a remake was nominated last year, why not this year?) I hope that TTYD, Mario Party, and Mario & Luigi are all in the running, and perhaps nominated for other things too.

I'm not too interested in announcements since it's mostly just ads for F2P shooter games

Also isn't the main guy behind this the one defending the PS5 pro?

Nintendo is the king of gaming handhelds, Switch can already play many big xbox games (and I'm sure Switch 2 even more so), so I don't see much of a point to this personally.

I doubt they'll have cartridges for it either since xbox typically does discs.

Why are people still doing this? I feel like by now people should know better.

This is phenomenal so far! I am particularly enjoying the music, battles, and even the story (I’m currently on the 2nd ocean). I’ve gotten game over many times already and there have been some puzzling challenges, definitely not as easy as I thought it would be. I’ve played Bowser’s Inside Story and to be honest I’d say that so far I’m enjoying this one more, and I really enjoyed that game too.

I don’t see this being TTYD level, but I’d say this is a high tier Switch game for me.

These are cool! Nice to see a good amount of character variety so far (the NSO icons struggle with that sometimes)

This was my #1 most wanted feature for Switch 2, this makes me so much more excited for the next console! (even though I thought it was very likely we were getting backwards compatibility)

@Zeebor15 Not all TTYD fans are like that. Sure, I agree GameCube had a very stacked lineup, but I also think Switch has some really great games as well (even excluding remakes/ports).

At least for me, I just want Paper Mario to be an RPG series again without the limits that have held the series back for the past decade.

Paper Mario 64 is my 4th favorite game of all time, because it had a similar formula as TTYD. If we got a new game like TTYD, it could easily find a slot in my top 10 games of all time. I don’t care about when it released, but the quality of the product. I don’t think every TTYD fan is like what you said, but there certainly are some people.

This is peak gaming, more people need to try it out! I’m typically not a huge RPG fan but when it comes to Mario RPGs they’re often really awesome experiences.

This is selling quite well for just being a remake! After Sticker Star, Color Splash, and Origami King, it’s nice to get an actual RPG in the Paper Mario series again! (in the form of a remake) Please can we finally get a true TTYD follow-up after 20+ years of waiting?

At this point I'm thinking a March reveal and a September/October release. H1 would've been nice, but it's getting more unlikely as time passes.

negativity can get more attention so from a business perspective a low review score can help with the amount of people who read/watch their reviews (in short-term), IGN doesn't have that much credibility anymore and giving false claims about the game (exaggerating performance issues, claiming Luigi feels more like an NPC than playable) doesn't help at all.

It kind of feels like IGN was playing a different game than the other reviewers based off of what they said compared to the other reviews and footage from the game.

This looks great! I already pre-ordered the game and it's ready to play on release. It seems like after the Super Mario RPG and TTYD remakes and this game, the Mario RPGs are back to the greatness they once were! So glad to see a new Mario & Luigi after so long, and this seems like a great return. Hopefully we continue to get more Mario & Luigi games after this! (and maybe a Partners in Time remake?)

IGN gave it a 5, probably too much water XD Honestly most people (including myself) haven't been taking IGN seriously especially when it comes to reviewing games, so I don't really care what they say.

I mean the announcement of Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive Edition wasn't in a Direct and the original Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition was, (which means many people already saw the trailer in the Direct instead of watching separately) so of course it has more views. Surprised this isn't a 'random' article.

@drypaphmrbro I got Red and Orange previously, so I was going for any of the other colors, and I ended up getting Pink Yoshi!

The game is pre-downloaded on my Switch, and it is about 9.8 GB on there. It’s currently my 2nd biggest download on my Switch (Pikmin 4 is the biggest right now), definitely a big chunk of storage!

I voted Japan, very nice looking and I think it shows better than NA/EU that Shadow generations is a separate campaign. Both are cool though!

This is a lot better than Here We Go, Mario, but not as good as Every Day is a Mario Day. Can’t wait for this game!

Mario & Luigi Brothership is the one I’ll be getting, it’s already downloaded on my system and is ready to play on release!

These songs are incredible, one of the best OSTs on Switch in my opinion! Wasn't expecting a new game to be added already.

GameCube controller compatibility isn’t working that well with this update, from my experience.

I started a new playthrough of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. I hope to beat it before Mario & Luigi: Brothership releases! I’ll probably play a bit of Super Kirby Clash as well, I’ve completed 400+ missions but I don’t even think I’m halfway through getting them!

@HotGoomba I don't care for social media platforms at all. Nintendo just uses X and that's the most efficient way to get info from them. I feel like X is the quickest way with load times and embed. Also since most posts here are from X I assume it's the most popular social media, so it's simply easier to have everything on the same platform.

I preferred the other links since for those I wouldn’t have to leave the NintendoLife website to watch the clip.

This remaster is looking good! My only complaint are the text boxes, they were a lot better in the original, and felt a lot more like Banjo-Kazooie.
