As if someone at Nintendo was sitting there and thinking "Hm, how can we make our company even more polarizing to longtime fans? I got it; let's take the 1st party game that will be forever incomplete without DLC from the 3DS eShop and pull it off the service a month earlier". This handling of the 3DS/Wii U eShops has just been one PR disaster after another.
Ultra Street Fighter II is probably my favorite composition-wise but definitely still really like the classic original SFII boxart with demented Blanka and the Mega Drive boxart for Super Street Fighter II since I'm always a sucker for the look of the 90s Street Fighter anime.
How many live action Resident Evil movies and shows do we need to suffer through to finally get the picture that as far as live-action adaptations go, we need to just put the series down and leave it alone for a good long time?
Really cool they landed both Lunar games though I won't rest easy until they and Popful Mail are confirmed for the Western version of the system and my worst fear of them being replaced by games like Wild Woody and Sewer Shark is put to rest.
The omission of Popful Mail from this games list when it was already confirmed for the Japanese edition is concerning; that was one of the best games on the Sega CD and it'll be disappointing if they leave it out of the Western version.
I mean, as infamously laughable as the CD-i games are, gotta admire her passion and enthusiasm for being Zelda. Even if not Zelda herself, would at least be neat if she was able to land a minor cameo role in Breath of the Wild's sequel or any future Zelda game.
Gotta go with the American/European box art; the busy scene with multiple characters gets the chaos of the game across better than just Mario and Weeg's key art floating in a white void. Less is usually more but might be too less for a game like Double Dash.
The gesture is really petty and immature, the actual execution is hilarious; looks like an edit made by a scoured teenager with no photo editing abilities who wanted an ex out of a social media photo.
But anyway, happy birthday, NiGHTS! Still my favorite Sega game.
Haven't gotten to most of their ports yet but did play the first Bioshock on Switch and it seemed to be handled REALLY well so I have faith that Nier Automata will run just fine on Switch.
I fell off RWBY a while ago after the show's story took a nosedive and generally lost its charm around volumes 4/5 and I still feel burned on RWBY games after Grimm Eclipse was just plain terrible but, while their track record with licensed games isn't perfect (for every The Mummy Demastered, there's a Bakugan: Champions of Vestroia), WayForward's involvement is enough to make me curious about this.
If anything, the soundtrack ought to have some bangers with Dale North being involved.
I get "Battlestar Galactica with jetpacks" from the NA box while Japanese box is straight-up "Gundam". Both have their merits but the absolute chaos of the NA box is calling to me just a little bit more.
Certainly can't argue with the top 5. I am so proud of this community for recognizing the greatness that is Nightfire and Everything or Nothing; both games rock and they made the Gamecube era a great time to be a 007 fan.
It is just a joke that likely was merely an attempt at "edgy Internet humor", yes, but it comes across as lacking any self-awareness when you consider just how many studios that specialize in single-player games EA has shut down over the years.
Nintendo, here's a better idea: make controllers that last longer without needing repairs. A real maverick idea, I'm aware but it JUST might improve your public image more than taking advantage of a problem you created.
The fact that Valve is only charging $20 for two solidly-made ports of two of the best games I've ever played just feels unreal (load times are a bit of a bummer but I played the PS3 versions of these games initially so nothing new to me).
Hoping these ports do well enough that Valve considers porting more of their back catalog to the Switch; the Half-Life games on Switch would be a dream. Left 4 Dead would also be great so long as they're able to optimize the Switch's...shaky, to put it nicely, online.
While F-Zero is the main focus here it seems, I am absolutely starving for a new Wario Land game. While I love the more straightforward design of 4 and Shake It (and am looking forward to indies like Pizza Tower and AntonBlast as a result), a new Wario Land that is more open-ended like 3 would be incredible.
As someone who somehow managed to perform some kind of dark magic and secure a preorder the first time, I wish everyone the best of luck tomorrow and pray to the powers that may be that Nintendo at least put another strap of duct tape over their server.
As excited as I am to see another PS1-era Namco platformer get the remake treatment, this is also yet another sad reminder of Ms. Pac-Man being phased out of existence due to, of all things, legal issues with a hack company like AtGames...
While I will admit that this game does look well made, it pains me that it's a free-to-play game and is yet another Disney themed life-sim/Animal Crossing-like game. Realize that a model like this is probably a safer bet to make money but I can't help but miss the days where we saw some actual variety from different Disney properties in different genres.
After they were announced for XBox, ports of Persona 3, 4, and 5 on Switch just seem inevitable at this point and Square Enix making questionable decision after questionable decision makes me doubt FF Pixel Remaster ports so at this point just hoping to hear a definitive release date for the Portal Companion Collection since Portal 1&2 are some of my favorite games ever.
After all the speculation and rumors for a Direct this month, I can't help but laugh if this and the Xenoblade Direct were all Nintendo had planned for this month.
I could easily see either Gunn or Miike matching the chaotic and crass but meta nature of the No More Heroes series. While Gosling is a pretty great actor, I'm trying to wrap my brain around him as Travis. Thinking he's talented enough to be able to pull it off but based on his past roles I've seen, it's a mental image that I'm struggling to picture.
Good to see greats like Jim Cummings and Billy West back in the fold of voicing their Nick characters and Frank Welker is always welcome in anything. While it's a shame but understandable that Tim Curry can't reprise Nigel in his condtion, Jim Meskimen is a pretty good choice to pass the torch to.
Nintendo, you keep pulling your music off the Internet and not providing easier access to it via streaming services, people are just gonna keep pirating said music tenfold with no remorse.

Ouch. As a big fan of the Professor Layton series and the first Ni No Kuni, it's just sad to see Level-5 stoop to these kinds of lows so fast. You were one of the good ones, Level-5...
For me, Fire Emblem Awakening came out at the exact time in my life when I most needed it. Some bad experiences in high school and my friend circle completely splitting up after graduation caused me to become a recluse; I had been in college for a few years at that point and had basically no friends I actively talked to or spent time with and didn't go to any parties since I had thrown myself so deep into my school work. I grabbed Awakening on a whim when it released since I remembered having fun with the GBA and DS games in the series and I became obsessed, playing it every chance I could get when I was waiting on the campus for my classes to start and when I had free time in-between studying. For lack of a better term, it reawakened my love of Fire Emblem and I started talking with more people in the common areas of the campus when I happen to see them also playing Awakening.
And one summer, I actually decided to go to a convention that was being hosted in my town cosplaying as the main avatar character Robin and that started a conversation with another cosplayer who would slowly become my best friend and years after that, my best friend basically introduced me to the woman who would become my girlfriend now of over five years and just so happens to, as she puts it, breathes Fire Emblem. So in a way, Awakening basically broke me out of my social shell and helped me establish new relationships I had basically given up on after high school.
Considering this consists of two legacy collections, a DLC expansion, and three last-to-current gen ports I heavily question if Capcom knows what "new titles" means. Pragmata seems interesting but they haven't said or shown enough of it yet and Exoprimal lost me by being another multi-player focus game instead of the Dino Crisis spiritual successor it initially looked like. And Capcom seriously needs to give Street Fighter a break for a few years and try a new game in another of their fighting series; coming from someone who was insanely excited when Street Fighter IV was announced and enjoyed it and its expansions, I just feel burned out on Street Fighter at this point and have been turning to KOF and Skullgirls for my fighter fix instead. Oh well; looking forward to playing Darkstalkers on current hardware at least, though a new Ace Attorney or even modern ports of the Viewtiful Joe games would be nice...
Well, with Breath of the Wild 2 being delayed to next year and Nintendo doing some Zelda related release every year for a while now, that can only mean...
LINK'S CROSSBOW TRAINING HD, BABY
LET'S GO
In all seriousness though, it wouldn't surprise me if Nintendo has been sitting on Switch ports of both Wind Waker and Twilight Princess as a backup if BotW2 missed 2022.
Biggest launch regret? The original 3DS, as in the hardware itself. It was chunky (not aesthetically pleasing to look at AND felt ridged to hold when playing games; Kid Icarus Uprising was a nightmare with that thing) and had horrible battery life to the point where I invested in a 3rd party battery which made it even chunkier. Plus the way the touch screen jutted out ended up scratching up my top screen from carrying it in my pocket too much, basically messing up the 3D effect.
Main net positives I got for jumping the gun on my 3DS hype were getting those GBA games and getting to experience Fire Emblem Awakening right when it launched.
I like that the soft colors of the Japanese art capture the art-style of the Kirby series but the Western art is probably better composition-wise and better shows what the game's world looks like.
As much as I like those five games, wish this collection also included the Game Gear/Master System Sonic platformers as well; that portion of Sonic's 2D history has been ignored long enough.
The gold background with the game's logo is about as iconic for the Zelda series as the white background with the game's logo is for the Final Fantasy series but going off of personal preference, I probably prefer the Japanese art. Link looks just kind of pasted there but that Lost Woods is just too good.
North American art takes this one; I like how most of the major characters are there and Bowser's expression makes me chuckle. Japanese box just looks like Lakitu took a mid-flight photo of Mario a millisecond too late and only got his ear.
Still say that Tri Force Heroes is probably the worst mainline Zelda game for me but guess if we're going strictly single-player-only experiences, then I'd say it's a close tie between Phantom Hourglass and Zelda II.
If this is true, I will be so happy to get Maple Treeway and 3DS Rainbow Road back; those were the retro courses other than Waluigi Pinball I wanted in Mario Kart 8 the most.
Aaand Square Enix just danced around the core complaints that the game is flooded with scummy microtransaction exploitation despite being a full retail release. Why wouldn't they?
