@MrPeanutbutterz Well, we all know the odd numbered street fighter entries are inferior to the even numbered entries, so I'll likely be on 6 even after 7 drops.

As I still have yet to jump in, I kinda need a Street Fighter 6 Hyper Arcade Ultimate Edition which includes all dlc released up to the point of its release and costs no more than $70.

I would normally wait for a sale, but once September hits, I will be busy for awhile with Trails 2 and Fire Emblem (launching on the same day!) So, we'll see. And then I've also got my big boy console for when GTA6 drops...

Honestly trying to decide if I want it on Switch 2 or steam deck. I'm waiting for more details on the steam machine, and I may play on the steam machine when I can play on the tv and stream to the deck when I cannot. But with these price jumps I may end up passing on the steam machine altogether and just get it on the Switch 2.

@rvcolem1 Beat every game? You might be the only one. I probably beat around 10-20% of the games I buy. I'm trying to go back and finish some of the ones that I never did. Currently playing through Xenoblade Chronicles 2 which I've been playing off and on since launch (~70 hours in now). Problem is I don't have much time for games. Probably average around 20 hours per month, and I get easily distracted by new games. If I don't finish XBC2 before Elliott comes out, it'll probably get shelved again until I finish Elliott, and may even get shelved again when Trails 2 comes out.

I still need to play through Yoshi's Crafted World, and Kirby's Forgotten Island. I bought both games but barely spent time with either. This game looks great though. I'll probably pick it up eventually.

If you prefer physical, that's fine. But complaining about a lack of a cartridge for a game that is free to play seems incredibly bizarre to me. You don't have to spend a dime.

@molkom I mean, Eggman outran Sonic in all the classic games and he's even pudgier than Mario.

I would say Trails deserves the award more than every other game, but there are so many excellent choices. Trails definitely has my highest playtime of the year probably followed by Bananza, but Final Fantasy Tactics is on my wishlist, but not until after I've finished Trails.

@The_Nintendo_Pedant the one thing they need is the ability to save your game in coop.

@OneArmedGiant I played the Mario skin on DS(maybe 3ds). It was fun, but eventually got to a point where I could no longer progress.

But will dum dums like me be able to finish the game?

PS6 (and its possible handheld) won't be coming until 2028 at the earliest. There is time for improvements in tech, battery, and cooling to be made.

@SalvorHardin Hard disagree. Switch space is limited and I want the game to play from the cart, otherwise it's barely better than a game key card.

I see no problem with the name either. I mean it's not as good as Super Mario Party Jamboree Nintendo switch 2 edition - Jamboree TV.

But it's not bad either.

@SpaceboyScreams Agreed. Some dlc and maybe some additional single player content (bring back Adventure from Melee and maybe subspace emissary as well)

@speedracer216 I have no doubt many people (myself included) picked one up out of FOMO. But also because there is a non zero percent chance that the price of the console will actually rise over time. Normally, I would not rush out and get a new console for one or two games. I already have a steam deck (and the og switch) and those could easily have held me over until there were more games I was interested in. But due to mostly full backwards compatibility and the fact that there is chance that the price would rise, means that it makes more sense to buy now than to wait and probably pay more later.

@hashkey Yes. I filtered by completed items. So I would see all consoles that sold and all that went unsold. Every console sold for 600 (or more with some as high as 750) and some did not include Mario Kart. I didn't see any that went unsold.

@hashkey But somehow there are still loads of consoles being sold on ebay for $600+.

15 million isn't their 12 month target. 15 million is what they expect to sell in 10 months (June '25 - end of March '26)

I went with Japan because the character designs look better. Also, the enemies are more recognizable. I can't tell what that thing in the middle of the US box is.

I bought it because I wanted to play on a TV without motion controls.

Not a big year for Switch for me.

My top 3 were
Monster Rancher 1/2 (21 hours)
Mario & Luigi Brothership (16 hours & counting)
Super Nintendo app (10 hours, mostly a combination of DKC and earthbound)

I bought Unicorn Overlord on Xbox because no one else would. Clocked 95 hours on there which is definitely my most played game across all consoles.

Curious to see how my Steam numbers turn out since I also spend a lot of time on the deck.

@Roibeard64 They've been trying to put gamepass on both Sony and Nintendo consoles for awhile, but neither Sony nor Nintendo wants it. Rightfully so, tbh. I doubt it will ever show up for Nintendo, but it could maybe show up on PS if Xbox ever gets out of the console business.

All online players should be good sports. Not just streamers. I like games that give temporarily bans to people that quit mid match. I think that's pretty sufficient. As for language, people need to have better self control. If you can't play an online game without toxic name calling, then it's time to put that game down and maybe go see a therapist.

@romanista parental controls work on a per app basis. They needed a separate app to apply a different age rating than the original app.

@AstroTheGamosian Nintendo leadership admitted many years ago that they didn't pay any attention to what their own competitors (xbox and Playstation) were doing. Why would they have paid attention to Gary's mod? Likely, someone (or something) has been tipping them off.

@illmatic20xx Multiplayer games on PC (and other consoles) make sense. Single player games, less so. Maybe after a long period of time, put them on another console/PC and sell it again to new customers for full price.

@Rika_Yoshitake How many pokemon are there? Seems like the probability of matching up to one by coincidence is pretty high. Especially the four-legged ones which are already all very similar to each other in size.

@FineLerv Castle crashers definitely could use a sequel. And it needs to shake up the gameplay so it doesn't devolve into jump + light attack, light attack, light attack, light attack, light attack, light attack, light attack........

@Archius9 Like many have said. This will likely be a better game than many other $60 games. But if you're not interested then that's fine. I've beaten Super Mario RPG dozens of times and I will gladly hand over $60 for this remake that I've been waiting for for years.

@WhiteTrashGuy Those games were great but I don't think any of them were game of the year contenders.
