I played twice. Got 5th my first time, 1st the second. Haven't played since because I'm tired of playing World 1 over and over. They should really make stage progression normal and not have you repeating levels.
@Zebetite "I will forever be disgusted by how game companies have no interest in archiving video game history unless they can make a buck off of it. This goes for other industries as well"
So then you are disgusted by all companies in all industries.
@LavaTwilight "Secured my physical copy. If I were to go digital with this and something happened to the Switch, I couldn't reclaim it. At least with physical I'd have a better chance of keeping hold of it"
They've already confirmed that you can re-download it after the sale ends if you purchased it digitally.
Hopefully, this awful release convinces them to add some local multiplayer. And hopefully include the actual village building elements with the multiplayer. I won't be buying until the multiplayer and single player experiences are identical.
@Dezzy "I'm going with my theory that the Switch Pro will launch in 2021 and being able to play Wii games (via eshop purchase) will be one of its main selling points."
And the Nintendo Switch Pro will also make perfectly delicious Eggos! Sounds like a win win.
@Bass_X0 Weird. I definitely remember at least "Super Mario Bros" being in 8 bit. I did mostly play Super Mario Bros 3 on there though, which I know had updated graphics. I guess my memory is just wrong.
Already have it pre ordered, but seriously, leaving out Galaxy 2 is worse than all of the Sonic Collections that leave out the best one: Sonic 3 and Knuckles.
@Liam_Doolan "You can play these games offline for up to 7 days as long as you have an active NSO sub."
I've been burned by this too many times. I have an active NSO subscription but rarely play the SNES games on there. But when I do think about playing them, I'm usually away from home and WiFi. And then I can't play them....
Every now and then, you've got to let the new folks takeover. There will be a Street Fighter 6. Hopefully, it takes the series in a positive direction. I prefer 4 over 5.
@nintendope64 As far as the amount of quality titles, the Switch isn't too far behind the PS4 this year. Yes it sucks compared to previous years, but it sucks across the board.
@Realness My backlog is tremendous. Working through Crosscode now. Thinking about revisiting Breath of the wild after since I only ever beat one divine beast. Trying to decide whether or not I should start over or fumble around trying to remember what I was doing and how to play. (Haven't touched breath of the wild, since mid 2017).
@Averagewriter In Tropical freeze, if you have a partner, you can roll indefinitely just by holding the roll button (or maybe mashing, can't remember exactly).
@nab1 I thought it looked like a gamevice too, and I will definitely be trying this at some point. Does Xcloud support streaming over LAN yet? (Using the Xbox already in your home, like PS4 remote play)?
@Brydontk I 100%'d Yoshi's Island when I was a child. I've tried to touch it since then and it just can't keep my interest. I tried it on the GBA, on the Wii VC, the SNES Mini, on a boat, with a Switch, and while wearing a coat. And I still cannot get into this game again.
Bought trials of mana on day one. Didn't get to it until after I finished final fantasy 7 remake. It's definitely a dip in quality compared to ff7 but still a great game that feels so much better the further you get. It is light on story, but the combat feels so good. Don't be discouraged by the easy difficulty in the beginning, the difficulty hits a huge spike around the 3rd or 4th boss, and from there, it's a reasonable challenge for the remaining of the game.
@tapdancingtommy the wheel accessory works perfectly? Now I might have to put this on my soon to get list. How good is the range on the local wireless? Will it work with one switch upstairs and the other downstairs?
If not, is it possible to do LAN without internet (similar to Mario kart 8)?
@TheFullAndy Not exactly. Most gamers prefer physical software over streaming. Being able to stream your games to another platform isn't remotely the same as having it physically downloaded to the hardware.
And you're right, neither of them need Gamepass. But having gamepass potentially cannibalizes their own subscription offerings (NSO and PSNow).

Re: The Survivalists, A Follow-Up To Team17's The Escapists, Launches On Switch Today
@ilh Nice. Good to know. Any idea if the demo progress carries over?
Re: The Survivalists, A Follow-Up To Team17's The Escapists, Launches On Switch Today
Going to wait for a review, but I'll probably end up picking this up. Hopefully, sometime this weekend.

Re: Review: Rivals of Aether - A Surprisingly Complex Alternative To Smash Bros.
I've always enjoyed this game more than Smash. Smash has a serious camping problem, but camping will do you no good in this game.

Literally my exact thoughts.
Re: This Is What Kirby's Minecraft Form Looks Like In Smash Bros. Ultimate
Minecraft is nice and all but Terraria is the real MVP.
Re: Review: Super Mario 3D All-Stars - Three Of Mario's Greatest Adventures Come To Switch
Imagine releasing a 3d game in 2020 without the option to invert (or not) the controls.
Re: Review: Super Mario 3D All-Stars - Three Of Mario's Greatest Adventures Come To Switch
@Ashunera84 Can you invert the Y axis from the Switch menu? That's going to be my only issue with Sunshine if this isn't possible.

@Zebetite Maybe you can tell me about this mythical company that does things simply out the kindness of its heart will no monetary reward?

Re: Random: Modder Pokes Fun At Nintendo By Creating Custom Joy-Con Fighter That Always Drifts Left
I stopped using joy cons a long time ago. 8bitdos and a switch pro work out pretty well.

Maybe the old models will finally get a price drop when the pro launches.

@SirKif The old Star fox 2 approach, that would be something.

@Tyranexx If I recall correctly, wasn't the NES mario games in 8 bit on the original Super Mario All Stars?

@Franklin I thought Bee Mario was only in Galaxy 2? Am I mistaken? I'm pretty sure I saw Bee Mario in that trailer.
Re: Move Over Fire Emblem, Scarlet Republics Is Coming To Switch Soon
There are other tactical games besides Fire Emblem. I enjoy many different tactical games to include :
Fire Emblem
Banner Saga
Divinity
Wargroove
Xcom
If this one is any good, I will certainly give it a try.

Looks good to me. Maybe I'll give this one a go after I'm finished with Crosscode. I will be keeping an eye for reviews first.

7/12, honestly thought I was going to do a lot worse after I got the first 2 questions wrong.

@brunojenso I feel this way about Terraria. Once that splitscreen update comes through, I'll be buying it (for the 3rd time) on the Switch.

@Averagewriter What was wrong with rolling in the original? The only thing I didn't like were the motion controls. Those are gone now.
