So greedy we have DK and Mario Kart already. This library is excellent when you account for the fact most past games get fps boosts and resolution upgrades
I wasn't sure what game you were talking about ohhhhh! You mean Kirby and the Forgotten Land - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Star-Crossed World now I get it.
It looks incredible! My biggest question right now is does this game have loads of replayability? Or will this be a game I find myself putting down after 10+ hours? I'm hoping for the former!
This game looks insanely good as a Kirby Air Ride fan, $70 is still a bit hard to justify for more of an arcade experience. I'm sure I'll be tempted to get it day 1.
Bloons Tower Defense 6 although I imagine a BTD7 isn't too far away right? Also a friend of mine said Boom Blox with gyro controls and that sounds really fun.
While waiting I just got Pokemon Violet (used copy to not support the game's rocky startup haha) and I'm hardly finding any bugs ppl were talking about and the free fps and graphics updates to the switch 2 version make it easily my favorite game in the series on switch. I hope this next one has similar open world design.
My Pros: Seemingly improved upon Legends Arceus gameplay mechanics while reintroducing missing features from mainline games. Improved on the flat colors of Arceus. Arguably the best looking Pokemon game (although there's still lots to be desired)
My Cons: Reusing older gen. City appears to be most of the game. Seemingly no vast open landscapes to explore. New gameplay style might break original Pokemon's working turn based mechanics. Seemingly no crafting mechanic from Arceus that I enjoyed. Also I'm STILL waiting for better graphics, why is there pop in on switch 2?
Like most Pokemon games that come out nowadays I'm on the fence hrmmm maybe I wait for next mainline game or a sale....
Ahhh Undertale! I had the joy of playing this game back when I thought it was an niche innocent little indie game. So many jaw dropping moments if you manage to go in completely blind. I almost wish the internet didn't grab hold of it so tightly for this reason.
It's so strange seeing Nintendo change up voice actors as of late. That being said I didn't even notice Toad had a different actress so that's been a good thing. The new Mario is still pretty strange to me but is a good voice actor.
I give it a 9/10 it's almost a 10 but I have to be more critical since it's a more expensive game and while there are nods to the donkey kong country games this is a bit of a departure from that series.
This makes sense since Mario Odyssey had moments of destroying terrain using their Voxel Technology engine in place. But a whole game where you're destroying stuff? I have my doubts it will be as fun as Mario Odyssey but hopefully I'll be proven wrong!
This is just so funny and a good thing all around. (Also the CEO said he will ship the winner his underwear but I see why NintendoLife omitted this info lol)
Since he blocks anyone who breathes on his twitter it's become a meme to do anything you can to get blocked by him, so he clearly knows he's grown a fanbase of haters on his own that's just how the internet works (and frankly I imagine he's only making it worse by saying this)
I remember seeing the price was confirmed in the uk to be 70 usd so they probably have more to showcase with this game because I think most people are not interested in paying that for this.
I hate how third party cases look on the switch 2 anyways. If you're not throwing your switch 2 around chances are it will look better without it. Also dbrand has been annoying with their partnerships/sponsorships everywhere on the internet so they deserve it lol
I agree with NL's review I wasn't sure about the game at first but definitely warmed up to it and found it really fun later on. I rate it an 8/10 because I think Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is the better game overall right now due to how many tracks it has alone!
The smear effect 120hz panels have on 60fps games is one of the reasons why a 120hz display was very shocking when it was announced for me. Also on paper it seems high tech but since not many games take advantage of 120hz wouldn't it have been a similar price for Nintendo to have a 1080p 60hz OLED display over 120hz LED? Eh I play mostly on tv anyway
They really milked the most they could out of the switch before releasing switch 2, basically making us so eager for switch 2 that at this point we're willing to pay 80 dollars for the new mario kart D: oh well that's business, at least we got it now!
This is one of the series I'm looking forward to most seeing continue on switch 2. I hope they make a switch 2 version of Bayonetta 3 but I doubt it with how messy things have been.
I remember the same thing happened to the Wii U eshop at the end of it's life. Instead of fixing it Nintendo lets the shovelware pile up as a tactic to sell the next console with the next new "clean eshop". At least they did mostly fix the problem since last switch update.
On one hand yes triple AAA games are more expensive to produce and involve more risk (just look at Concord losing billions of dollars). On the other hand Nintendo in particular rarely has their games flop and are the largest videogame company in Japan. I highly doubt a flop would destroy them. But from their perspective it makes sense.
If anyone is concerned about $80 games taking over I will remind you that we will forever have a vast library of Indies and retro games for cheaper prices. Both of which can surpass triple AAA gaming if you find the right ones that are fun.
Furukawa you over promise too much when you claim you'll "have enough switch 2 systems at launch" and you are "confident that you can combat scalpers". I also didn't like how you said the "switch successor would be announced this fiscal year" and waited to the last minute to honor your word. It's a bad look to over promise and under deliver.

Re: Donkey Kong Bananza, Like Mario Kart World, Was Initially Planned For Switch 1
The sculpting mode is interesting it's like the devs were playing with map making and wanted the player to experience the tool for themselves.

Shoutouts to Gradius! I didn't grow up with it but I like it now
