Re: Updated Club Nintendo Game Card Case Now Available to PAL Gamers

Nintendzoey

I looked at the Club Nintendo site about an hour ago and saw this. The thing is that I was viewing it on a small screen and saw the box outline - I got excited because I thought it was actually the announced "Goodbye" coin for a moment. When I enlarged the screen, I saw that it was actually the game case.

I probably would have gotten one of these cases last year but I don't have many stars left now and am saving my final stars for the coin, if I can get one. Hopefully they will have enough to go around when they arrive and they don't end up running out in 5 minutes (like the Luigi coin did). This is why I check the Club Nintendo site frequently now. They may not release it until the final weeks of the site though but I do know that a lot of people want it.

Re: Video: Disney Magical World 2 Looks as Charming as the Original, and Has Frozen In It

Nintendzoey

@Kimite I also like Kingdom Hearts. This game is also based around RPG (it is a very large part of the game). You have to play through RPG quests to earn ingredients to run your Café. When you want more ingredients, you have to play through the same quest(s) to get more of that item. Playing through the same quest(s) multiple times can get tiring sometimes though - especially if you don't get the item you wanted on that play through (which can often happen). There is also not much in the way of a story (especially when compared to Kingdom Hearts) besides finding items in quests for various characters.
Also, this game caters to both boys and girls (there are boy's clothes etc.). Some of the gameplay (such as Cinderella's ball) may appeal more to girls but this game still does a relatively decent job at catering to both genders.
If you are a Disney fan though, I would not sit on the fence, this game really is great.

Re: Video: Disney Magical World 2 Looks as Charming as the Original, and Has Frozen In It

Nintendzoey

This looks awesome! I loved the first game but just wished the main hub area was bigger. Looking at the trailer, I think I got my wish. It looks like you can even visit Mickey and Donald at home this time. I am excited to see Wreck-It Ralph too. I think my sister will love this sequel as well (as she was disappointed that Ariel was not in the original game - well, besides the collectible cards). I just wish that they would add music from the Disney soundtracks to the game - there would be so much music to choose from (even if it was just instrumental). Now if only they could add some of the Disney Afternoon characters (at least it has Scrooge and the boys, though it would be nice to see DW or Launchpad).

Re: Gold Mario amiibo Exclusive To Target Australia Sells Out Early Online

Nintendzoey

Yes, I managed to get one! As I don't have a car, I woke up at 6am so I could catch a train (which pulled into the station near Target at 7.55am). It is only a few minutes walk from the station to that Target. There was a long line when I got there (about 8.03am), they were just pulling them out of the boxes and handing them out to the customers. At first I thought that I was out of luck when they ran out of them - but they found another box of them out the back luckily.
I should probably also mention that I was able to get all 3 (green, blue and pink) of the wooly Yoshi amiibos as well. Yoshi has always been my fave Nintendo character, so that made my day.

Re: Nintendo Download: 18th June (Europe)

Nintendzoey

Harvest Moon: Lost Valley is a game that they should not have even bothered to bring to Australia or Europe (I agree with the majority of reviews, including the one on this site). Story of Seasons on the other hand, that is a game that will be worth the wait.

Re: Rumour: Animal Crossing and Pixel 8-Bit Mario amiibo Look Set For E3 Reveal

Nintendzoey

Animal Crossing Amiibo? Yes please! I thought that we would only ever end up getting the previously announced cards for AC. I doubt that we will ever see Amiibos of every villager (there are way too many of them) but if they ever do at least some of the villagers, I would love to see the koalas (especially Melba, Sydney, Yuka, Lyman, Eugene or Ozzie) get some love.

Re: Fake amiibo Figures Spotted In The Wild

Nintendzoey

This is the same thing with Disney pins. There are some highly collectable ones but also many fakes of said pin as well. Many people don't know or seem to care though, they just want it for their fave character.

Re: The Days Are Numbered For The Nintendo Video 3DS Application In North America

Nintendzoey

Since I am from Australia, I was actually surprised to see it when I first got my American 3DS (about a year or so ago). Some of my American friends had told me they still had it but I thought that it was slowly going to be phased out worldwide. When it was still available on my American 3DS months later and it had disappeared from my Australian 3DS, I began to wonder.. So this news comes as no real surprise now, it just took longer than I thought it would.

Re: Harvest Moon: The Lost Valley For 3DS Launches In Australia On 20th June

Nintendzoey

I have this game already on my American 3DS (I have both an AU and NA system). The screenshots of the game looked good originally. Sadly, I really did not like it very much at all and agreed with Nintendo Life's rating for this game ( 4/10 ). There was just too much missing from the game (no town etc.) and I found the gameplay more tedious and boring (when compared to other games in the series).
I am looking forward to Story of Seasons though, I will be heading back over to America in July, so I will probably pick up a copy of it then.

Re: More Club Nintendo Goodies Coming To The European Stars Catalogue

Nintendzoey

This is what they should have done with Club Nintendo when they announced it's demise - told us what was coming to the catalogue. I think it is a little too late for some people now, as they have spent their final stars already (on downloadable games etc.). I have a few stars left, so hopefully I will still be able to afford something good. As for other people though, it's probably too late now.

Re: Weirdness: Fred Savage Seems Very Much In Favour Of The Nintendo World Championships 2015

Nintendzoey

I am in my early 30s now but I remember seeing The Wizard when it was released in 1989 (although I think it may have been either 1990 or 1991 when I saw it). It is actually one of my first memories of Nintendo. I remember the scene in the movie where the kid finds the Warp Whistle (located in the first Fortress / Dungeon) of World one. After seeing the movie, I ran home, turned on my copy of Super Mario Bros. 3 and found it for myself. This was back before you could go online and find cheats / walkthroughs for any game(s) you want. I was so excited at the time! These days you can find the secrets in games so easily...

Re: The Prices of the Remaining Physical Goods on Club Nintendo in North America Have Been Reduced

Nintendzoey

I agree, this does seem a little unfair to the people who have already spent their coins. It's almost like Nintendo is just throwing your final coins away. I think the only people who would disagree are the people who could not afford any of these items previously.
I have already ordered the light in AU. I hope they do not come out with another cool item for EU / AU for people to spend their stars on and then discount the light. What a beautiful (not) way that would be for Nintendo to treat their loyal customers when they close down Club Nintendo!

Re: Hacker Produces Region Free Exploit for Current New Nintendo 3DS System Version

Nintendzoey

I ended up buying a NA 3DS console anyway. I was sick of all the restrictions us Australians get (games not getting classified, games taking forever to be released, games not getting released at all). I found it all extremely unfair since I go to America on occasion (once every year or two). I hated having to buy a second console just because of the region lock. I may have to purchase a NA New Nintendo 3DS as well now - I don't think they will let this exploit last for long (thanks Nintendo!, I only just got the AU version), when I head back over there in July. At least Sony was kind to us with the Vita.

Re: Nintendo of America Apologises for amiibo Shortages and Promises More Re-Stocks

Nintendzoey

If they do restock more of the rare amiibos, I can see 2 things happening:
1) They deliver only a few of the rare amiibos, scalpers pick them up and once again continue to sell them for an inflated price on ebay / or
2) By some miracle they actually do produce a lot more, making them not nearly as rare. Then the people who paid the ridiculous prices on eBay will rage and say "I thought they were going to become collector's items, so I paid over $50 FOR ONE of them".
I have been seeing characters such as Ike, Marth and Meta Knight in some stores recently though - so Nintendo must at least be trying to restock some of the rarer ones.

Re: More Disney Infinity 3.0 Leaks Emerge With Starter Pack Line-Up

Nintendzoey

@DeltaPeng Yes I did. When I saw them in store I ran over to them and yelled "OH YES!", while I grabbed them as fast as I could. My sister was with me at the time and said "whoa, what's the rush here?" (as she is not really into video games, so I don't think she really knew what the big deal was). She probably thought I was going crazy or something.

Re: More Disney Infinity 3.0 Leaks Emerge With Starter Pack Line-Up

Nintendzoey

Still no Darkwing Duck? Still no sale. They will have to release characters from the Disney Afternoon line-up before I will even considering buying a single Infinity figure.
Until then, I am content with Nintendo's Amiibos. I actually found Pac Man, Wario, Ike, Marth and Meta Knight in my local store today (about time I had some luck)!

Re: Weirdness: eBay Listings for the Club Nintendo Majora's Mask Light Set a High Price

Nintendzoey

I feel sorry for the people who thought nothing good was going to come and spent their last stars on downloadable games (unless you would rather have the games over this).
I wish Club Nintendo could just tell us everything that will be available on the site, so that people can decide what they want to spend their final stars on.
Nintendo says this item is planned for delivery in July though, so it will be interesting to see what happens between now and then.

Re: Here's Why The StreetPass Bunny Couldn't Care Less If You Don't Buy His Games In Europe

Nintendzoey

I bought the games anyway, so I didn't see the Bunny's impassive reaction (I have an Australian 3DS, so I guess we would have also gotten this response).
However, it can be hard to get streetpasses in Australia (since we have no Nintendo Zone or the like - so we get no special relay weeks or whatever). Unless you live near a city, sometimes you are only looking at a few passes a month (if you are lucky), unlike the majority of people in NA who probably get them on a daily basis.
I also have an American 3DS and have had more than a few "special" (Nintendo etc.) visitors to my NA plaza, unlike my Australian 3DS that has maybe one "special" visitor a year to our AU plaza (if even that).
So to many Australians, the Bunny's response would probably also perfectly reflect Nintendo's attitude to our own Streetpass Plaza ("fair enough" or "couldn't care less").

Re: Nintendo Australia Lists eShop Offerings Redeemable Via Club Nintendo Stars Catalogue

Nintendzoey

@Liam_Doolan I have been able to save them up since there has not been very many good rewards offered on the site recently. I only have a 3DS but I purchase the majority of my games digitally (more convenient for me as I used to lose the game cards), so I always get the extra download bonuses. There were also many games on sale over the Christmas break (some of them were greatly reduced), which were also worth 400 stars each (for registration and bonus).

Re: Nintendo Australia Lists eShop Offerings Redeemable Via Club Nintendo Stars Catalogue

Nintendzoey

I think this is the first time downloadable games have been offered to Australia's Club Nintendo (or at least I have never seen any on offer before).
Nothing for me though, I already own the games on this list that I want(ed). I would much rather have the special physical rewards. I have more than 5000 stars for the Australian Club Nintendo and I really hope it will not end up as just a waste of time.

Re: Reaction: Confirmation of Unity on the New Nintendo 3DS is Welcome, and Gives More Evidence of a Unified Future

Nintendzoey

@Nintendian There is still an audience who wants more than just the casual game though. Nintendo realises this, that is why they released Xenoblade Chronicles as an exclusive to the New 3DS - to try and sell the system. People are not going to want to buy a new system just for Indie games that they can easily play elsewhere (such as on a smartphone).

Re: Reaction: Confirmation of Unity on the New Nintendo 3DS is Welcome, and Gives More Evidence of a Unified Future

Nintendzoey

@Nintendian I hardly think that the New 3DS will sell many units if Nintendo's idea is to have Indie games "fill the gap" while they work on a new handheld. If Nintendo really want to sell the system (which I believe they do), they will have to also churn out A+ games worth playing. I can't see many people wanting to or actually buying a new system if they don't. If one of the main things Vita had promised (when it was released) was Indie games, I never would have bought one in the first place.

Re: Reaction: Confirmation of Unity on the New Nintendo 3DS is Welcome, and Gives More Evidence of a Unified Future

Nintendzoey

@Nintendian I own a Vita and most of the time there is nothing but Indie games. That's not what I bought (a supposed) dedicated handheld for. Nintendo has continued to show support for their handheld, I believe they will continue to do so. Unity is just another option open to them now, which will be good for the times throughout the year when the game releases slow.

Re: Reaction: Confirmation of Unity on the New Nintendo 3DS is Welcome, and Gives More Evidence of a Unified Future

Nintendzoey

I was just given a New 3DS XL (Majora's Mask edition) console from one of my friends for my birthday. So this is an awesome time to announce this news. There seems to have been so many weeks recently where there were very few releases for the regular 3DS (or anything interesting anyway). Here's hoping that this news can and will help to change the tide.

Re: Akihiro Hino on Why Fantasy Life 2 is Not Coming to the 3DS

Nintendzoey

Seriously? That's his reason? Most of the kids I know seem to play smartphone games more and the people who are my age (I won't say) tend to play the handhelds. My mum just got a 3DS for her birthday actually. So from my experience, his logic should be the other way around! Why should it even matter who plays what though?
Since when is Fantasy Life a supposed adult's game? Looks like this guy was just trying to find a plausible excuse - well, keep searching dude.

Re: Nikki Lives On in Latest Batch of 3DS HOME Themes in Japan

Nintendzoey

It would be cool if the Sesame Street theme was released over here - but only if the accompanying song was "Rebel L" or "Letter B" (yes I am serious, have a listen to them). Those songs are by far some of the best song parodies that Sesame Street ever did (well in my opinion anyway). Probably hard to do though, there would be way too many hoops to jump through.

Re: Nintendo Download: 9th April (Europe)

Nintendzoey

Not surprised about the 3DS game releases (or lack of). There really does not seem to have been many good games (or at least any that I am interested in) that have been released to the 3DS for a good while now. The last good release (any 3DS game release) for me was Majora's Mask.
I have been playing my Vita recently instead and some of the games (although not many - and I have not touched it in almost a year) that I have missed out on, now that the 3DS releases have slowed.

Re: Xbox Boss Phil Spencer Reckons "It Would Be Cool" if Rare's Banjo Was Voted in as Super Smash Bros. DLC

Nintendzoey

I just wish the original Banjo Kazooie or Tooie (N64) could come to the 3DS. If there was to be any collaboration between Microsoft and Nintendo, I would want that to take the biggest priority. I have wanted another handheld Banjo Kazooie for more than a decade (yes, I played and still own the GBA game). Especially since Microsoft does not have a handheld competitor. So many memories with those two games from back in the N64 days (one of the best consoles that I ever owned - and still own).
On the other hand, I would love a Banjo Kazooie Amiibo (but based around the N64 design). Anything to do with Banjo Kazooie merchandising would be great though, we have not seen anything from either of them for way too long.
