Rumour: Animal Crossing and Pixel 8-Bit Mario amiibo Look Set For E3 Reveal

My poor, poor wallet.

With all these leaks and spoilers just lately, is Nintendo's E3 actually going to have any surprises left?

I was wondering if they were going to make retro amiibo for Mario Maker.

Everything seems to getting leaked these days.

I need all of those amiibo, plus the Yarn Yoshi. RIP Wallet

@WolfyWardark Of course there will be surprises left. I mean only a game some smash dlc and now some amiibo's have been leaked. Hardly the end of the world.

To be honest I only feel that the 8-bit Mario was a leak. The 4 AC characters were already confirmed as amiibo cards so of course there would be figures made!

Uh, Nintendo? Could you please fix your stock issues by the time they're available? I'd kinda like to get them.

I hope I never decide to start collecting amiibo.

More amiibo does not surprise, seems to be the focus of E3 2015.

i hate leaks(even tho they don't bug me that much)... but i really like see Animal Crossing come Wii U, so i hope that confirmed it

What's going on in Nintendo that they have all these leaks? At this rate, there won´t be anything left for Tuesday. Now, if someone leaked that Platinum's new game is coming to Wii U, I certainly woudn't mind....

@WolfyWardark Of course. RETRO STUDIOS are at e3 and are due to announce a new game. nobody has any idea what it could be.

Well, that pretty much confirms Animal Crossing Wii U is coming.

No Mr. Resetti? I said about a year ago he was the one AC amiibo I wanted. Of course I've never played an AC game so what do I know?

Maybe they can package the 8bit Mario w/ Mario Maker? Nintendo stock issues of amiibo has been well documented, but their bundling is completely scatter brained as well. Squid amiibo w/ Splatoon was a great idea, but why only in the UK? Inkling 3 pack was smart, but no separate squid was idiotic as who's going to buy girl and boy separate if they then can't get the squid? SSBU needed more amiibo bundling, if it had any at all. Captain Toad needed his own amiibo, not just generic Toad. Was Kirby ever bundled w/ Rainbow Curse/Brush?

I've never played an AC game, but I am interested in getting 1 on Wii U. I've also been waiting for an amiibo styled game like Skylanders or Disney. If however AC is that game I may well pass as I'm sure these will be impossible to find. Might pick it up if it also plays w/ much cheaper cards though.

Either way, after all of this, I hope Wii U gets an AC game, even if I never do, it seems like ita wanted, and who knows, maybe it could even drive Wii U sales to the casuals if ita bundled w/ Wii U and a few amiibo, or just the amiibo and the game like the other NFC starter packs for $75.

Won't be playing "dress up" though, even if it were free. Have to draw the line somewhere.

Edit - Just noticed the 8 bit Mario had a pipe for a base, I really like that, have hated both SSB and SMB from the beginning. Yarn Yoshi not having a stand was brilliant, and the AC grass design is an improvement.

But why is everyone assuming that Animal Crossing amiibos instantly mean AC WiiU? They're just as likely to be part of Happy Home Designer and the Amiibo Cards. It's not indicative of much.

I am waiting for someone accidentally posting the E3 Direct early or posting all the details online by accident. Wouldn't surprise me at this rate.

@NintenBo I disagree because amiibo cards are just a cheap alternative for those who only care about the ingame functionality. The figures are the big thing that rakes in money for Nintendo.

I think im not alone on this one, but could you guys, at least for the duration of E3, make a sub-page for leak stuff, so that it doesnt show up in the main news list ?
I have nothing against leaks in your news articles, it is important to inform people about it, but please, it spoils so much of the upcomming shows.

To think I was just about to order a KK Slider and Isabelle figurine...I'll get these instead. If Nintendo produces enough of them...

@Zodiak13 I think it's only temporary. the old one will be back up when E3 is over. You can still access the old one now.

@Einherjar I agree, I'm going to try and not visit this or any other Nintendo related website till the Digital Event is over. There will be nothing left to gag over.

Oh dear. I think I'll have to pick up Tom Nook and KK Slider. Not a fan of the Pixel Mario. Just like the Yarn Yoshi, I think it would look too out of place with the others.

This would round out all the characters shown on the original amiibo image, which even included pixel Mario.

And on a side note. Bloomin' eck Nintendo leave some money in my wallet for actual games will ya! Oh and food and mortgage and stuff.

Kinda starting to feel like everything is getting leaked...it's making this E3 feel off from the get for me. Maybe I paid less attention last year...I don't remember feeling like I already know what's comin'. At this point, I'm just really excited for any kind of unforeseen surprise.

I'm glad I don't feel compelled to buy every one of these. They'd end up being such a money hole. They're cool, but I don't want to blow all my money on amiibo. I've bought two so far, and I don't plan to get many more.

@DarthNocturnal That's exactly what I think, as well. Happy Home Designer alone just doesn't feel like a good justification to create over 200 amiibo cards as a marketing ploy, and then even add figures to that. It's very likely a setup to prepare a new Animal Crossing title.
But amiibo figures suddenly sparked all these "AC WiiU CONFIRMED" reactions for no sensible reason. That new Animal Crossing could also become a 3DS game again. Or it could be a cross-platform title - amiibo is intended for both platforms, after all, so this weird "AC WiiU" assumption doesn't sit well with me.

@Dr_Corndog Yeah, they can really eat through some funds. I've got 6. I got the first 5 with Christmas gift cards. If I ever happen to be in a store that sells them, I'll swing by the video game section to see if they have any worth considering. So far, I've only ever seen one that I just had to have and was willing to drop my own cash for (Mega Man). If I ever saw a Ness, I'd drop my last dollar to pick it up.

Animal Crossing Amiibo? Yes please! I thought that we would only ever end up getting the previously announced cards for AC. I doubt that we will ever see Amiibos of every villager (there are way too many of them) but if they ever do at least some of the villagers, I would love to see the koalas (especially Melba, Sydney, Yuka, Lyman, Eugene or Ozzie) get some love.

In all seriousness, I'm very happy to see some Animal Crossing ones as I had resigned myself to the fact that they would only be released as stupid cards (surely like 90% of the appeal of amiibo is the awesome figure. Plus without the awesome figure, the whole DLC/locked content aspect of amiibo becomes a lot less palatable).

Anyway, if, when this whole amiibo thing is all said and done, we lived in a world where there was an amiibo of Dark Pit, but not one of KK Slider, I would've been pretty annoyed...
