I was wondering how old that song from Junior Senior (Move Your Feet) was, so looked it up.. It was originally released in 2002 but became a (at least moderate) hit in Australia back in 2003.. so back when I was in my 20s.. where are the years going? đ±
Never heard of Kao the Kangaroo though, no not even in Australia (đ).. but then again, I never owned a Dreamcast or GameCube either.. It does look the kind of game that I would like though.. I am a big fan of Spyro and Banjo-Kazooie after all.
My biggest regret is leaving my old game systems at my parentâs house.. The NES.. The Sega Mega Drive.. The N64.. and all with more than 20 games each.. I had each of them tidily packed away in boxes..
âMum, where are my gaming systems?â
âI donât know..â (guilty look) âdid you look for them?â
âYes, I didâ..
âWell, I did throw some of your stuff awayâ..
[I personally would never throw them out and my parents have a huge house.. They keep a lot of old junk there.. There was more than enough room there for them..]
A few years later my aunt did the same thing with my little cousinâs NES (that my cousin had also owned since the 1980s) .. In the original box, with about 50 games (many of them in boxes).. also with included extras (such as two orange zappers).. Just basically gave them away online (sold for an extremely low price).. Soon after selling, she told me, âI would have just given them to you had I knownâ..
Well, at least someone got a bargain..
One of my favourite games EVER made. I have always been a fan of the bear and bird, even have the First 4 figure of them - even though it cost a small fortune in Australia. I have lost count of the number of times I have played it to 100% over the years (since it was first released on the N64).
I am someone who originally grew up with the Atari 2600 and the NES in the 1980s, this game (along with Super Mario 64 - that I got at the same time) was a HUGE step forward in the gaming world. It was also one of the major reasons why I purchased an Xbox 360, when it was released on that console.
Would have preferred to be able to purchase it for Switch through the eShop instead of through the subscription service (like most people) though.
I have wanted these games on Switch for years but not this way. It is a big âNO SALEâ from me. I will definitely be voting with my wallet.
Where I live, the internet service is mostly rubbish (even on a good day).. I get the internet dropping out often. I also only get a small allowance for the internet each month (the prices are crazy expensive in my area), so have to watch what I do online. My area is not ready (or prepared) for Cloud gaming at this point in time.
Then there is the portability issue, what is the use of having the game on a handheld if you need an internet connection to play? Once you step out of the house, who is to say that you will even have an internet connection? Most probably you will not be able to play this game on the go.
Then there is the pricing and ownership issue, if we are paying full price for these games, who knows how long we will be able to play them for anyway (before they are no longer available to us / online). Not paying full price for a game that could simply be taken away from us at any moment.
@Tandy255 Yes, thank you for the suggestion. I have not looked at (or noticed) this game before. I watched a quick gameplay video of it. Looks nothing like Rodentâs Revenge but it does look like the kind of game that I would enjoy. đ
Seeing these pictures reminded me of an old (early 1990s) computer game that I used to play frequently called âRodentâs Revengeâ. It was a simple game (you play as a mouse, trying to escape from cats by pushing blocks around) but one that I really enjoyed. Would like to see that come to the Switch (but I think it might be owned by Microsoft.. so maybe not much chance of that).
I loved âReturn To Zorkâ, a computer game that was released in 1993 and made use of FMV. In fact, it was the first game that I ever played to make use of FMV. Playing it, back then, made me feel like I was in another world. It came free with our computer that we purchased in the early 1990s.. âWant some rye? Course you do!â.. / âHey, Hey, Iâve been talking a long time.. I need a new battery.. Can you hear me? A new battery!â.. đ
If Sony or Microsoft were to release a handheld hybrid (like the Switch) it would be a day one purchase for me. I have always prefered handheld gaming to playing on the TV. I also like the portability of it and that I can play the games on the go or on holidays.. The last system that I bought from either of those companies was the Xbox360.. bought a lot of games but never really got around to playing many of them. I did have the PSP and also the PS Vita and played those games a lot more (but sadly the good games for the Vita seemed to dry up a lot quicker).
Not that this game even appeals to me but any game that is the âcloud versionâ has to be an instant âno purchaseâ from me.. Where I live, the internet service is mostly rubbish (even on a good day).. I get the internet dropping out often. I also only get a small allowance for the internet each month (the prices are crazy expensive in my area), so have to watch what I do online. At this point in time, even if I want to play, cloud based games have to be out of reach to me.. âčïž
@AstraeaV Yes, as far as music goes - Vice City wins for me (I love just about every radio station in that game). For the game itself though, San Andreas wins (I just love the map / openness of the world) and even though I am from Australia, I have been to places such as Hollywood, San Fransisco, Las Vegas.. so the sights are familiar to me. I do particularly like one of the radio stations in the San Andreas game though - âK-DSTâ (âThe Dustâ). Yes, it would have been nice if you had been able to pay for just the games that you want though. I would have only purchased Vice City and San Andreas.
I purchased the GTA trilogy when it was first released for the Switch. I played through most of San Andreas and have had a lot of fun with it. I did run into a couple of glitches / errors / lighting problems (such as when walking indoors, sometimes it is like walking into a dark cave) but nothing that truly spoilt the game for me. I never regretted purchasing the trilogy, just that you can not purchase them separately because I probably would not have bothered with âIIIâ. I love the music in âVice Cityâ though, all the great music that came out when I was a kid in the 1980s. đ
@Astral-Grain I have only played one Telltale game before, Back To The Future. I also do get a kind of similar âQuantic Dreamâ vibe from this game. I never played âHeavy Rainâ (if it had been released for the Xbox 360 I probably would have) but I did play a game called âFahrenheitâ (âIndigo Prophecyâ in North America). I remember playing it on my old Xbox 360 more than a decade ago.
I purchased Life Is Strange, even though I did not really even know what it is. I just saw âtown to exploreâ, âarcade machinesâ and âradio stationâ in a description of it and that was enough to sell it to me. đ
I started downloading a 20GB game, which is a HUGE amount for me because I do not get very much data each month (here in Australia). It reached 100% of the download and then stopped and paused before saying that the connection was down, so could not continue. Luckily I thought to just tell it to try again and then powered down my Switch. After a few hours I turned it back on and the download completed. Lucky because I could not afford to lose another 20GB if it had to download it all over again⊠đ
I had to time travel to play this one.. Of course it would be held on the one and only day of the week that I am extremely busy and do not have time to play. đ
I had this on the NES when it was first released, one of the hardest games ever.. I am sure that I am not the only one that was never able to finish it. đ
I (kind of) really liked the first game and collected almost everything in it. I did not care for the second Yooka-Laylee game though (the 2D game) and stopped playing it a few levels after starting. Hopefully, with a few improvements over the original, this will turn out to be a great game.
I would love it if they could âfixâ not being able to give your villagers custom made furniture. So here we have a game that has a lot to do with designing and creating the look of your island.. Yet, you can never have your own villagers display your creations in their home. I know a few people who spent so much time creating / drawing designs for this very reason, only to realise that it was never going to happen.
The joy-cons are utterly useless rubbish! So sick and tired of the drift. Like many people are saying, if you ARE able to fix them, it may only be temporary. The joy-cons cost about $120 Australian, which is too much to pay for something that may suddenly just stop functioning properly at any moment.
Some of my games have been almost unplayable because of the drift. For example, Animal Crossing. One of my villagers wanted to move out and I did not want them to. I intended to select "no, don't go" but my joy-con had another idea.. just as I pushed the correct option, it changed (or rather the joy-con drifted) to the "yes, leave town" option..
My little sister (she is in her mid 30s) has even decided not to purchase a Switch. She was intending to but after all of the trouble I have had with mine, decided against it. Which is a shame because if it was not for the drift, this could have possibly been one of Nintendo's greatest consoles yet..
I have always been an 80s fanatic (was my childhood) so I had to play Vice City when it was first released. I had never heard âJapanese Boyâ by Aneka before though and came to like that song, always associating it with GTA thereafter. Sad to see that it did not make the cut. So many missing from Flash FM, that was my go-to. đ
I used to play that classic Popeye game (on the Atari 2600) all the time, when I was a kid in the 1980s. I also played a version that was on the NES a few years later. I do not think that I have played any other Popeye game since then.
Poor Alex Kidd. I still remember the pre-Sonic days. I had the NES back then but my friend had the Sega with the built-in Alex Kidd in Miracle World game. We used to always say to each other âMario seems to be Nintendoâs mascot, so Alex Kidd is probably Segaâs mascotâ. Then Sonic came along and the world slowly seemed to forget about Alex Kidd.. Shame on you Sonic! đĄđ
Just love this game (Banjo Kazooie) so freaking much. I have played it countless times (to 100%) over the years. Say what you will about the N64 but I still think it had some of the best / most revolutionary games of all time on it.
Definitely going to get this at some point but the price of $79.95 in Australia means that I will have to wait a little longer. I had two of the three N64 Mario Party games (think 1 and 2) back when I was in my 20s (the early 2000s). Not sure / can not remember what ever happened to my N64, just know that I have not played it in years, so it will be good to play some of these mini games / boards once again.
My reasons why Cloud gaming is a big ânoâ for the Switch:
1) Constant internet connection: Where I live, the internet service is mostly rubbish (even on a good day). Some of us are not able to play that way, if it requires a constant connection to the internet. Plus if the internet is not working, you would not be able to play the game anyway.
2) Portability: What is the use of having the game on a handheld if you need an internet connection to play? Once you step out of the house, who is to say that you will even have an internet connection?
3) Pricing and ownership: If we are paying full price for these games, who knows how long we will be able to even play them for anyway (before they are no longer available to us). Not paying full price for a game that could be taken away from us at any moment.
Where I live, the internet service is mostly rubbish (even on a good day). I really dislike (to put it mildly) when they think they can just sell us cloud versions and call it a day. Some of us are not able to play that way.. so I guess we just miss out then. I have been wanting to play these games for so long on a handheld but if we can only play them with an internet connection then (for me and many others) I just do not see the point.. If we are paying full price for these games, who knows how long we will be able to even play them for anyway (before they are no longer available to us).
Awesome, there were a handful of characters that I would have been happy with (Crash Bandicoot, Waluigi, Spyro, Phoenix Wright etc.) but very happy that they have gone with Sora. Great choice!
One of my favourite games EVER made, I have always been a fan of the bear and bird (even have the First 4 figure of them). I have lost count of the number of times I have played it to 100% over the years (since it was first released). Would have preferred to be able to purchase it through the eShop instead of through the subscription service but I am still thrilled that it is finally coming to the Switch.
The only Chibi Robo game that I ever played was the one for the DS - Park Patrol, about 13 years ago. I loved it though, it was actually one of my favourite games to come out on the DS.
@chapu2006 Never understood the fear people have of clowns. Everyone has at least something they donât like (I certainly donât like some certain things - not telling đ) but donât understand why the fear of clowns is a more common phobia. I did grow up next to where a circus set up on a regular basis, so was comfortable with clowns from a very young age.
@Ogbert Yes, I remember there was a protest at one stage, I think our local council decided they did not want them using animals in their acts anymore (my mother was a big supporter of the group). Not really sure about what actually went down, I kept out of it basically. I absolutely agree that animals should not be kept in small cages (and / or mistreated) though.
Love the Yoshi games and I like clowns, so this looks like a decent game to me. Will probably pick it up somewhere down the line.
On the subject of clowns, where I live in Australia, we used to have a very popular circus that would set up the big top in the back paddock right behind our house every year (in the 1980s / 1990s). They had everything - lions, monkeys, elephants, horses, acrobats, clowns. They used to borrow the electricity from our house, they would pay us for it but also give us free tickets to the show as well. So I grew up being able to basically walk out my back door and straight into the circus.
I remember one year, one of their monkeys got lose and escaped onto our roof, they had to borrow my dadâs ladder and climb up onto the roof to catch it. đ
They donât do that circus in this area anymore these days. I think it has been about 13 years (around 2008) since they last came.
@Atariboy Number Munchers.. Wow, I have not thought of that game in many years (decades even). I remember playing it at school in the late 80s / early 90s. We bought it for our family computer in the early 1990s and then both of my younger sisters used to play it as well.
It almost looks like a blue Goomba, just with longer (and thin) blue legs and arms with red boxing gloves on. Still can not believe that Sonic is 30 this year, seems like only yesterday to me..
I am Australian. I have an Australian âMy Nintendoâ account and enough points. Yet they do not accept PayPal, so I canât buy anything off the store anyway. I do not have (and neither do I want) a credit card, which seems to be the only option to pay for postage. The eShop accepts PayPal but not the store.
It was the third home video game console I owned / second from Nintendo. I had the Atari 2600 in the 1980s, followed by the NES and then the N64. Never owned a Super Nintendo personally but my younger cousins did, so I was still able to play one on a regular basis.
As for the Sega systems (Mega Drive / Master System), my friends owned one, so I also got to play those on a regular basis as well. Sometimes they would bring them over to my house so that I could play them whilst they went away on vacation / holidays.
I am getting really tired of having to put up with all this rubbish from Nintendo.
First my joy-cons get drift, I am on my third pair now because otherwise my games became almost unplayable. The joy-cons are not cheap in Australia either, they cost about $120 for new ones here. Nintendo of course, refusing to believe that there was an actual problem at first and putting the blame directly on the innocent customer. Anything to take the heat off themselves..
Now this enforced update that broke their server somehow / or at least made it impossible to download or update games. Many of us had to wait over a week to play games that we purchased. It was like they were taking our money but keeping our games hostage. Of course, they told us things like âcheck your wi-fi connectionâ, âtry downloading the game againâ.. once again making out like it is / was the fault of the customer.
I have been a fan of Nintendo since the 1980s (when their first console, the NES was released). Never had any real problems with them until the Switch.
My local video arcade had one of these (The Simpsons Arcade Game) when I was a teenager in the 1990s. I used to love walking in and hearing The Simpsons theme blasting through the place. Sadly, the arcade closed down some time in the mid to late 90s.
Very tempted on this one..
@GamerGrandpa Yes, I would buy any of those games if they were released on the Switch. Talking about Kingdom Hearts, I am more of a handheld kind of person. I like to play games on the go, not connected to the TV, which is why I am thankful for the Switch. The only Kingdom Heart games I have played were the DS / 3DS games or the one released for the PS Vita. I enjoyed them all though.
Seeing a picture of Mickey gave me hope that a Disney related game was coming to the Switch.. The console seems to be barren of good Disney games. No Kingdom Hearts (except for that rhythm based one), no Disney Afternoon collection (even though I owned most of them on the NES back when they first released).. but no, it is just because a Disney game is being removed from the 3DS eshop.
@greenarcher02 They could have except that they told Nintendo "Don't Say You Love Me (us)". It seems like Nintendo obliged and started looking elsewhere..

I had two of the three N64 Mario Party games (think 1 and 2) back when I was in my 20s (the early 2000s). Not sure / can not remember what ever happened to my N64, just know that I have not played it in years, so it will be good to play some of these mini games / boards once again.
Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Getting The "Cloud Versions" Of Kingdom Hearts On Switch?
Re: Three Kingdom Hearts Games Are Coming To Switch, But They're All Cloud Versions
Re: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's Final Fighter Is... Kingdom Hearts' Sora!
Awesome, there were a handful of characters that I would have been happy with (Crash Bandicoot, Waluigi, Spyro, Phoenix Wright etc.) but very happy that they have gone with Sora. Great choice!
Re: Disney Magical World 2 Is Getting Re-Released For The Switch
I played this on my old 3DS and liked it, will probably get it for the Switch when it is released as well.
Re: Round Up: Here's Everything That Was Revealed In Nintendo Direct September 2021
The 3D Kirby game looks and sounds amazing. Will definitely add it to my wishlist.
Re: Banjo-Kazooie Is 'Coming Home' To A Nintendo Console Via Switch Online
One of my favourite games EVER made, I have always been a fan of the bear and bird (even have the First 4 figure of them). I have lost count of the number of times I have played it to 100% over the years (since it was first released). Would have preferred to be able to purchase it through the eShop instead of through the subscription service but I am still thrilled that it is finally coming to the Switch.
Re: Chibi-Robo! Inspired 3D Platformer Misc. A Tiny Tale Confirmed For Switch
The only Chibi Robo game that I ever played was the one for the DS - Park Patrol, about 13 years ago. I loved it though, it was actually one of my favourite games to come out on the DS.
Re: Mini Review: Ayo The Clown - A Breezy Platformer That Yoshi Fans Will Enjoy
@chapu2006 Never understood the fear people have of clowns. Everyone has at least something they donât like (I certainly donât like some certain things - not telling đ) but donât understand why the fear of clowns is a more common phobia.
I did grow up next to where a circus set up on a regular basis, so was comfortable with clowns from a very young age.
Re: Mini Review: Ayo The Clown - A Breezy Platformer That Yoshi Fans Will Enjoy
@Ogbert Yes, I remember there was a protest at one stage, I think our local council decided they did not want them using animals in their acts anymore (my mother was a big supporter of the group). Not really sure about what actually went down, I kept out of it basically. I absolutely agree that animals should not be kept in small cages (and / or mistreated) though.
Re: Mini Review: Ayo The Clown - A Breezy Platformer That Yoshi Fans Will Enjoy
Re: Random: 1990 Preview Of Sonic The Hedgehog Featured A Quirky Unused Enemy
@Atariboy Number Munchers.. Wow, I have not thought of that game in many years (decades even). I remember playing it at school in the late 80s / early 90s. We bought it for our family computer in the early 1990s and then both of my younger sisters used to play it as well.
Re: Random: 1990 Preview Of Sonic The Hedgehog Featured A Quirky Unused Enemy
It almost looks like a blue Goomba, just with longer (and thin) blue legs and arms with red boxing gloves on.
Still can not believe that Sonic is 30 this year, seems like only yesterday to me..
Re: Cute Zelda: Skyward Sword Bomb Bags Are Being Given Away On My Nintendo Australia
Re: Nintendo Switch System Update 12.1.0 Is Now Live
Came here to make sure the update was safe before I downloaded it this time.. đ
Re: Anniversary: The Nintendo 64 Launched 25 Years Ago Today
It was the third home video game console I owned / second from Nintendo. I had the Atari 2600 in the 1980s, followed by the NES and then the N64. Never owned a Super Nintendo personally but my younger cousins did, so I was still able to play one on a regular basis.
As for the Sega systems (Mega Drive / Master System), my friends owned one, so I also got to play those on a regular basis as well. Sometimes they would bring them over to my house so that I could play them whilst they went away on vacation / holidays.
Re: Switch Error Code 2123-1502 - Users Still Waiting On Fix For Update 12.0.3 Issues
Re: Classic Arcade Game 'The Simpsons' Will Get A New Cabinet This Year
My local video arcade had one of these (The Simpsons Arcade Game) when I was a teenager in the 1990s. I used to love walking in and hearing The Simpsons theme blasting through the place. Sadly, the arcade closed down some time in the mid to late 90s.
Very tempted on this one..
Re: Talking Point: If Nintendo Released Them, Would You Play Virtual Boy Games In 2021?
This was not even released in my country back in the day, Australia.
Re: Talking Point: The Build-A-Bear Animal Crossing Collection Is A Bit Rubbish
Personally I would really only care if they had a koala villager. Ozzie or Eugene would be great..
Re: Disney Art Academy Is Being Removed From The 3DS eShop At The End Of March
@GamerGrandpa Yes, I would buy any of those games if they were released on the Switch. Talking about Kingdom Hearts, I am more of a handheld kind of person. I like to play games on the go, not connected to the TV, which is why I am thankful for the Switch. The only Kingdom Heart games I have played were the DS / 3DS games or the one released for the PS Vita. I enjoyed them all though.
Re: Disney Art Academy Is Being Removed From The 3DS eShop At The End Of March
Seeing a picture of Mickey gave me hope that a Disney related game was coming to the Switch.. The console seems to be barren of good Disney games. No Kingdom Hearts (except for that rhythm based one), no Disney Afternoon collection (even though I owned most of them on the NES back when they first released).. but no, it is just because a Disney game is being removed from the 3DS eshop.
Re: Post Malone To Star In Pokémon 25th Anniversary Virtual Concert
@greenarcher02 They could have except that they told Nintendo "Don't Say You Love Me (us)". It seems like Nintendo obliged and started looking elsewhere..
