Re: Splatoon Version 1.4.0 Is Now Live

Nerdling

@GoldenGamer88 Rapid Blasters are faaaaar worst in Tower Control IMO. Same with Clash Blasters.

Ugh. There's literally no reason to touch the Sloshing Machine again until someone in development realizes that 20% is waaaaay effing extreme.

It has to be fixed.

Re: Splatoon Version 1.4.0 Is Now Live

Nerdling

That Sloshing Machine nerf is soooo unwarranted!

What the hell, Nintendo!? You've utterly destroyed that weapon! 20% spat-radius reduction? Really!? That weapon was already a lot of work to take turf with, let alone requiring butt-loads of precision to hit your targets!

After a few test runs in Turf War, just making it to 300p is a massive chore now! This weapon is unusable in ANY mode. Who the hell made this decision and why? This is practically the worst weapon in the game now!

Re: Splatoon 2 Version 1.3.0 Is Now Live

Nerdling

I haven't used the Tri-Slosher since my beloved Sloshing Machine was added. I gave it a whirl after the update to see how bad it got, and honestly, it doesn't feel all that different to me.

I'm very happy about the Sting Ray fix! As a Sloshing Machine user, I really felt that the Sting Ray special was more of a hindrance than a benefit until this update.

It's drastically improved my game.

Re: The Sloshing Machine Returns To Splatoon 2 Tonight

Nerdling

I am sooo happy to have this weapon at my disposal once again! I've really missed it! This was my main in Ranked Mode in the first game and I've been all over it since it's release tonight!

Like most of you, I'm not too thrilled with Sting Ray as it's special, but it hasn't hindered me at all tonight. Having Auto Bomb as it's Sub more than compensates for it.

Wreaking havoc with this thing again is simply AWESOME! Thank you Nintendo!!

Re: Splatoon 2 Has A Nasty Surprise In Store For Rage Quitters

Nerdling

I got this message during the Splatfest after getting disconnected several times. It was pretty annoying to me that I was being threatened with a "Block" even though I was doing nothing wrong.

There was nothing wrong with my internet as far as I could tell. Restarting the Switch helped some-what, but I continued to have disconnects throughout the Splatfest and came across this message just the one time.

Re: Nintendo Switch Lacks A Web Browser Because It's A "Dedicated Video Game Platform"

Nerdling

Announcements like these only confirm that the Switch is launching with less "out-of-the-box" features than it's competitor's. First it was no streaming apps and now there's no web browser either. This is starting to worry me. Decisions like these do nothing but take away from the machine's value.

For the $300 Nintendo is expecting us to spend, the Switch should absolutely include those features. They are standard items in the industry. It makes no sense to not support them at that price.

I'm not going to lie, this is kinda killing my happy-buzz for the system...

Re: Miitomo Update to Version 1.4.0 Lets You Use That Annoying Candy To Win Game Tickets

Nerdling

These are very good changes, but there's still a lot more DeNA and Nintendo could fix and change.

Judging by what I see in the comments so far, I'm probably the only one here who's getting any kind of enjoyment out of Miitomo.

MyNintendo points aside, I get plenty of use out of MiiFoto; mostly for making hilarious memes. So I would really like to see the tools in MiiFoto get some hefty improvements.

I play Drop Mii all the time to add to my closet (since I never know what clothing I'll need for the next meme). But most Drop Mii Game Boards are too difficult. You can quickly burn thru all your tickets and come away with absolutley nothing. It's frustrating because tickets are pretty hard to replenish - even with this new Candy Drop game, which I feel has the most ridiculous Game Board of them all. So your next option is spending 500 coins per play (which is also ridiculous).

So yeah, there are still things that could be fixed/tweaked that would make me enjoy this app a lot more.

As for everyone else, well, I don't know. I see plenty of folks claiming not to like Miitomo, but few are saying why or what they would like to see changed/added to make it better.

Re: Poll: Are You Still a Miitomo Regular, or Has The Great Mii Q & A Lost Its Charm?

Nerdling

I use it every single day, but everyone on my friend's list is completely dormant. No one is active at all. I think we're all bored with answering questions amongst eachother.

HOWEVER, I like MiiFoto very VERY MUCH. That feature is a great alternative to things like "BitStrip" on Facebook.

I think creating and sharing MiiFotos should be rewarded with "My Nintendo" points. In fact, I think that should be the whole focus of the App going forward!

Re: Hurrah, Miitomo Is Now Available In The West

Nerdling

It won't let me create a Mii from my Nintendo ID, even though copying IS enabled. So I am stuck on the Mii creation page with no "Back" option and no "Help" option.

My only option is to create one from scratch or use a QR Code (and I am not going to do either).

Re: Cancelled ZombiU Sequel Prototype Featured Co-Op and Alternate Routes

Nerdling

Before "Dying Light", there was ZombiU.

While it wasn't the commercial success Ubisoft was hoping for, ZombiU got the ball rolling for what has now become the next step in survival horror games. It had it's flaws, but the direction of the game was definitely the correct one. And it's a shame that Ubisoft didn't take a second stab with a sequel.

If anyone from Ubisoft ever reads this, we want another ZombiU game... NOT a "Just Dance" game or other piece of lame casual fodder.

Re: Wii U Minecraft Looking Doubtful As Dev Says They Have "Fulfilled The Need For Now"

Nerdling

All this has done is make people hate 4J Studios and Mojang for giving BS excuses as to why they've continuously side-stepped the Wii U for a MineCraft port, even though Miiverse is constantly flooded with requests for this game.

If you don't want to put the game on Wii U, that's fine. But be honest about your reasons. Otherwise, you'll just end up creating a legion of scorned fans.

Re: Activision Confirms That Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is Skipping Wii U

Nerdling

Disappointed? Definitely. Surprised? Not really.

I'm really going to miss the off-screen and remote play features on the Wii U. At least we got two COD games, right? I just hope that Activision is aware that there ARE those of us who bought and loved COD on Wii U. Our numbers may be small, but our passion is great!

It sucks that they have to do this to us. :/

Re: Watch Dogs Will be the Only "Mature" Ubisoft Game on Wii U in Upcoming Lineup

Nerdling

Ubisoft has it all wrong.

Their games in general are just not system sellers. Not that their games are bad, but no one is going to buy a Wii U for a game they can play on another platform they already own. It has nothing to do with Nintendo owners not being interested in their games. Hell, I own nearly every game they've put out on Wii U EXCEPT "Just Dance". And now they want me to be stuck with only that option?

I give a huge middle finger to Ubisoft

Re: E3 2014: Nintendo Won't Bring Live Twitch Streaming to Wii U as it Lacks 'Fun'

Nerdling

I think it's a mistake to NOT include twitch livestream to Wii U. Unless, of course, there are hardware constraints preventing this from happening (in which case, Nintendo should just say so instead of trying to convince us that it's not fun... let us be the judge of what's fun and what isn't).

I personally really like the idea of being able to share my gaming experiences with others.

Re: E3 2014: Reggie Fils-Aime Reaffirms Nintendo's Commitment to the GamePad

Nerdling

I agree! Nintendo needs to stay committed to the Gamepad and devise new uses and ideas for it.

BUT... I also believe that Nintendo needs to show full support for the Pro Controller as well. It can't continue to be a back-seat option. As much as I love the Gamepad, I'm finding myself playing more and more on the Pro Controller because:

A) It has much more battery life.
B) Is surprisingly lighter and more comfortable.
C) If dropped, it's far less likely to break than the Gamepad.

I'm extremely protective of that Gamepad and really don't like to let others handle it because I know that if it ever breaks, I lose a lot of console features that can't be used with the Pro Controller.

Re: Talking Point: It's Not Too Late for Nintendo to Join the Minecraft Party

Nerdling

As much as we are all hoping, as much as we are all demanding, regardless how good of a "fit" the game is for the system and the Gamepad, I really don't think Minecraft is coming to the Wii U... EVER.

When you consider all the other platforms the game has surfaced on, it becomes pretty clear that Notch doesn't see the Wii U as any kind of priority for Minecraft. I don't know what it is he has against this system, but if he can go this long without so much as a tiny hint to any kind of release on a Nintendo platform, I think it's safe to assume he has no intention of ever doing it.

I agree that the Wii U is BY FAR the best-suited system for a Minecraft game, but despite that, Notch would rather skip us over, again and again, for platforms he likes whether they are good-fits or not.
