Beat BotW for the fourth time. Been thinking about playing SMRPG or TTYD. Which means I’ll probably start Okami again. May hit the local music shop as well.
Fourth playthrough of BotW. I’m at the final battle, unless I decide to noodle around some more, before or after. Likely both. We’ve been all over that map countless times and I still enjoy just wandering.
I also bought Instruments of Destruction on Steam. Make vehicles and destroy things. No plot. Right up my alley.
One, not being able to use the thumbsticks without correction or compensation on any game that requires the use of thumbsticks is not minor. Two, it affects every game that requires directional input. Three, when you buy a piece of electronic equipment, you shouldn't be expected to correct a manufacturing defect by spending more money on another company's solution. Four, what the H is this? Every person who has joycon drift has careless kids that break them, or are themselves irresponsible? Preposterous, arrogant statement all around.
Geez, it's like reading PureXbox comments during the ABK buyout drama.
Completely agree. If you have to talk (or shout) about something, you ain’t got it. When everyone does it, it becomes meaningless. Lazy marketing, ad infinitum.
Plus it’s a fun article underpinned by truth. Exclamation points should be used very sparingly. When I see them, my default reaction is that the writer is compensating, as described herein.
@GregamanX I tried that with Immortals and it didn’t work. Must have missed something. I’ll give it another go. Thanks for the voyeuristic point (me being the voyeur, that is).
@-wc- Third that sentiment. I have a few Ubi games and was unaware that they now require an account to play. Rather than trash them, I made a dummy with an e-mail that I never use, but I won’t buy another Ubi game again, new or used. Of course it doesn’t help that their management is a bunch of scumbags.
This business of companies acting as if they’re entitled to our personal information and money needs to stop.
Japan’s is far less interesting and far more by the books. Even with the line that trips over itself, NA/E easily. Which means it will get crushed. Although I do like Japan’s font.
I was going to go with Kaepora Gaebora because of one of my favorite game quotes, “Hoot hoot hootie ho,” though “Hoot indeed” is giving it a run. Went with Lechku & Nechku, however, because they’re refreshingly creepy.
@roy130390 That’s always bugged the cr@p out of me. I get the human nature thing about identifying with a group and all that reptilian brain stuff, but corporations? Really?
I’ll undoubtedly get this again. Had a little trouble with the spacial platforming sections, but meh. Is this s*** Switch and Steam only? If it performs well on Switch, I imagine that will be my choice, as physical.
“Switch 2” is as easily a placeholder name on an assumed console as anything. Sure, N is going to release a new console, but this story means nothing as far as confirmation. Doesn’t invalidate it either, of course.
“My work with PlatinumGames was based on a relationship of trust with the company… Without that element of trust, I couldn’t continue working there.” Welcome to the world, son. Good luck.
I wouldn’t criticize anyone who’s happy with Asylum and City, but it’s pretty crappy that you’re being charged for three games and getting two. That’s serious bush league stuff.
Echo the general sentiment, good. Love the games, but for me, the changes in style and setting are one of the things that keep me invested and replaying different titles. I wouldn’t mind a different Big Bad, either.
Best game ever made. And I’d agree with this article. Like referees, the best are the ones who don’t draw attention to themselves. A lot of tutorials scream “Tutorial.” OoT didn’t do that.
Nope. I will continue to ignore such manipulative, soulless mining of human beings. And they will continue to make gajillions screwing their customers.
@TheBigK Right on board with that. I never get a rush from beating a boss on the umpteenth try. It just seriously cheeses me off. Others live for it, great. For my taste, life presents enough challenges as it is. Though I do appreciate the option for more stuff if you feel like going there.
I have a Gamecube copy, but I’m likely to get the Switch version. The new graphics look great, but I prefer the lettering and word balloons of the original - feels a little more in line with the general feel and style. Nitpicks, of course. Looking forward to Luigi’s mansion as well.

Re: Video: Digital Foundry's Technical Analysis Of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door On Switch
I think it looks great. Still have the original, but I’ll likely pick this up as well.
Of course, one could wait for the inevitable PC version at a skillion fps.
