Re: Rumour: New Switch Model Launching Early 2021 Alongside A Strong Game Lineup, According To Reports

I don’t believe the idea that the switch is just on its own. Blue ocean or not, money is still money, and people only have so much of it. I just don’t want the switch to get into a situation where devs just don’t port cause they have to scale things back to the point of why bother.

Nintendo will still do what they do best, but the huge difference from switch and Wii U is that the Switch has support from third parties. That needs to still be present going forward. If the current Switch can keep up, then great, but I kinda doubt it. We barely got Witcher 3 (great port though), so I just don’t see third party developers going from PS5 and investing the time and money to dial things back to get it on Switch unless they know it’s gonna sell really well.

More rumors, lol

Though, I do believe an “upgrade” is coming. The Switch will need to at least keep pace with the new Xbox and PS5. It won’t be anywhere near those consoles, but it needs to be in the same ballpark at least. Nintendo has a long history of upgrading hardware, or revising it in the handheld market. Even though the Switch is technically a home console, it’s most definitely a handheld as well. We already have a Switch lite, so I do expect to hear something soon about a revised standard Switch.

Re: Review: Carrion - A Shockingly Violent Metroidvania Where You're The End Boss

I just finished this and yeah, I think this review is spot on. This game is really clever in a lot of ways. The game is basically The Thing on steroids.

The review is right, no map and the shedding of your mass bring it down a touch, but it’s really minor gripes. It’s a short game, and I was able to get around well enough, but I can see someone getting lost if they set the game down for a month or so. Best to just commit a few hours and beat it in a few sittings. Secondly, the shedding of mass is just busy work, I would have preferred to just have access to everything and just switch my “powers” when I wanted to.

Really great work though, so kudos to the developer, I had a blast.

Re: Poll: No, Really, What Was Nintendo's Worst Year?

MoonKnight7

2015 for me. For the train wreck E3, which it was obvious the Wii U was in its final dying breaths. Federation Force, with no knowledge of a new Metroid known, and Animal Crossing amiibo festival, which frankly never should have happened. Worse yet, Nintendo completely trolled us with that trailer.

I think 2020 being on some people’s lists is kinda, weird. I don’t know how you can already judge a year that’s only half over, especially when we didn’t know about Paper Mario until May. I just don’t feel it’s fair to judge it just yet.

Iwata leading the way, and taking a pay cut during the difficult Wii U era tells you all you need to know about him. It wasn’t just a job, he really wanted Nintendo to succeed. He wasn’t perfect, but you’ll be hard pressed to find someone with as much integrity and passion as him.

I wish he could have seen the success of the Switch, but I’m sure he knew it was gonna be a hit. May he continue to rest peacefully.

Re: Random: The Pokémon Company Re-Uploads Its Pokémon Unite Videos, And Fans Aren't Happy

MoonKnight7

Frankly, removing the video isn’t gonna change anything. Their biggest misstep was making this game “a big reveal.”

If they had just dropped the news and not made a big deal about it, it wouldn’t be this much of a disaster. I hardly think it would’ve been well received, but this largely could have been avoided. How they didn’t slot Pokémon Snap in it’s place is so bizarre, I almost can’t believe it happened this way. An absolute swing and a miss on the marketing front.

It made about as much sense as Nintendo giving us Federation Force with absolutely no update on the progress of a new mainline Metroid game. Sometimes, Nintendo and their friends, make incredibly odd decisions.

Re: 2K Says It's Eager To Release More Games On The Nintendo Switch

MoonKnight7

Ultimately this comment doesn’t mean much. Actions speak louder than words, so the fact that they’re releasing 3 games next week tells you more about their feelings than anything they say.

Though it would have been nice if they splurged for the 32GB carts that Witcher did. But, still something is better than nothing. It’s just the physical games are basically full downloads anyway, so I don’t really see the point.

Re: Slowly But Surely, Nintendo's North American Repair Centres Are Coming Back To Life

@DTfeartheBEARD

I hear ya. In my house 2 out of the 3 pairs we have are drifting. I try to play on the tv more to prevent the inevitability on the last good set.

My wife is dealing with the problem right now, and since nothing is open, I’m not really sure what to do. I might have to just get a new set for her, cause after having the problem myself, I know how incredibly annoying it is. I’m glad they closed down for safety, but yeah, this problem is indeed a nightmare. I can relate, the Switch has given me the most problems and I’ve owned most of Nintendo’s products.

I get that products are gonna have a certain fail rate, but for a company that has such a commitment to “quality”, the joy con is laughable at best.
