Don’t forget Astral Chain on sale for the first time in NA.
Woah! I’ll def be taking advantage of this! Can’t wait to buy some!
Was waiting for this post so we can get people's suggestions... Like, do you think Tropical Freeze at that price is a great purchase? Do you recommend it for young kids?
Yep!! I grabbed shantae and the pirates curse, and crossing souls for me.
Lego city undercover, crayola scoot, and runner 3 for my daughter!
Nice, now I just need money
Welp. Bought that new 512GB card just in time I see o.O
Yayyyyyy! Time to spend that mullah baby.
I wanted to get the LEGO Jurassic game, mainly because of the sale price, and I remember playing it on the PS3 a while back. As far as I remember, it was a great game, anyone think so?
@Francema definitely! TF is a great game for kids, 6+. The younger can use Funky Mode, but the older can use regular mode for more challenge. You may need to help them a little bit on some parts, but I think they can do it.
Time to finally grab A Hat in Time.
Great discounts, I would love to get DQ XI S or Astral Chain. Tales of Vesperia is also apparently good because it has additions (I own it on 360 but without them). Ni No Kuni is also at the right price.
@ButterSpill Really? Thanks for the info been meaning to try that game
@Francema
I personally have a hard time justifying the price when I bought it on WiiU under the selects label for $20 . I played it recently again with my wife and we had a couple hours of fun with it before moving into to different things again.
Now Yoshis Crafted World, there’s a family friendly 2D platformer I highly recommend (have about 45 hours on that)
Good grief... it's a great sale but I really don't need any more games right now!!
My daughter wants to play Minecraft on the Switch, but does that game ever go on sale?
Super Bomberman R only $9.99. Is you out of your mind?
1300 games on sale?!..........not Salt and Sanctuary though! 😖. I've given up at this point
Some of these are on the current UK sale, would think the UK will get whatever is not on sale this week?
Grandia and Panzer Dragoon hopefully on sale in UK tomorrow.
HIGHLY recommend DQ11 to anybody - I’m not even a fan of the genre and loved every minute of my 100 hours with that game
A lot of great stuff there but I already own all the ones I want.
@Sszx09 Thanks! Yeah I'm keeping an eye on Yoshi's though that one is not on sale. I may go full price for a new Mario (not the paper one) rumored release!
it is sad to see that Nintendo only discounts their games to 42 dollars at the very lowest ( except for black Friday where Zelda and Mario are both 30 dollars a pop). I would personally love to see links awakening for 40 dollars as 60 for that type of game might be too steep.
You'd think at this point that they could afford to discount Fire Emblem Three Houses and Xenoblade Chronicles 2.
I guess not...😒
I just wonder if there will be any first party game reveals this month
And that translates to TWENTY NINE games in the Brazilian eShop! ....which I guess is like, a third of the whole shop. Well, shame, I'm not really interested in any of the discounted ones.
To keep my backlog from getting too bloated, I often stick with games on my wishlist. About half of my wishlist is on sale lol. I don't want to go too crazy, so I've narrowed it down to three games: Limbo, Inside, and Grim Fandango Remastered. I'll have to pick up one of those at a later time, but I'm not sure which one to eliminate....I've read they're all excellent.
Wow! There's a bunch of really good offers here!
Ok, Ni No Kuni for 20... This time I'll get it, no more excuses! Wait, Tales of Vesperia for 15... Damn it. Whatever, I'll get both!
@Giygas_95 Yea I thought the same. But I still would rather have them physical at a lower price
@Ronwantread Having bought Link's Awakening twice already I completely agree. I know a ton of work went in to that remake, but does it come close to the efforts in Breath of the Wild? I'm shocked they didn't launch it at $50 or less.
Mario Kart 8 is another one I just can't shell out for after buying the game and all the DLC for Wii U...
Compare this to sales in the Wii U/3DS days.Night and day.
Did Wii U even have anywhere near 1300 games in total?!
I have Tales of Veperia on my 360 that I never got to finish. I'm tempted at double dipping on the Switch
Half the stuff I bought in the last two weeks is now on sale. I am one bitter onion.
Basically, if you have a game on your wish list or something you’re interested in, visit the eShop... there’s a chance it’s currently on offer. This is why having a wish list is a good thing, fellow gamers!
Don’t forget about the sales on 3DS also! Tons of Shin Megami games (Atlus) and even 3D Classic Sega games (Streets of Rage, Altered Beast, etc.)
Me? I’d go for that sweet Stella Glow deal: for $9.99 you can get one of the best tactical RPG’s you’ll ever play. That’s right, the story and gameplay in Stella Glow is a high mark for me.
Damn, I was thinking if getting RE6, Okami and Dead Cells, but now Astral chain is on sale. Does anyone know how is the replayablility of Astral Chain?
I already own it, but is this the first time Fitness Boxing went on sale? At least, it doesn’t seem to go on sale much in the eShop.
Are any of dlc for games on sale as well or no?
@Onion I learned that hard lesson over and over on the Wii U. I know it sucks for devs, but I now try to wait patiently for sales. Especially since digital titles can’t be loaned to friends or resold (looking at you AAA games that are full price on the eShop).
@Ronwantread yeah, I would not mind NSMBU & Luigi bc I never got Luigi on WiiU, but it ain't worth $40.
@JeanPaul Id say its as repayable as any other Platinum Games game, just depends on how much you care about ranks and for this games case, side missions.
@Giygas_95 Why would you discount XC2 when you want people to buy XC1.
Id play any of these wiiu ports if they were base priced at $40 and go on sale. Tried Captain Toad and thats it.
I know you can't list them all. Heck, not even a fifth of the titles but Astral Chain not listed as a highlight is weird. Specially since it's the first time I think it's discounted.
I wish it was a little longer but I will definitely be picking up Okami (which I have been meaning to buy for a while).
@mesome713 XC2 has been out for over two years now, and I don't think it's had a single sale, at least not that I'm aware of (correct me if I'm wrong). There's been a lot of time for them to do a sale on it before Xenoblade Definitive Edition came out. And the reason I point out that game and Three Houses is that they're very expensive if you want to download them with the extra content passes. You could get them physically, but I kind of prefer digital these days.
I'd also argue that with Xenoblade Definitive Edition out now, putting Xenoblade 2 on sale would be a good way to shift some extra digital copies to people who may be looking to try more of the series now that they've played Definitive Edition.
Guess I don't have an excuse now to get New Super Mario. Bros U Deluxe.
@Giygas_95 Nintendo won't discount XC cause it needs all the money it can get. Nintendo only discounts games that hits pass it's sell requirments. This is why Nintendo employees are some of the happiest, well payed, and don't complain much.
If people didn't want your game at your asking price, then you have a much bigger problem that a price cut will never fix. Fire Emblem should be getting one soon. I'd expect during the holidays.
Highly recommend CAPTAIN TOAD! Even if you've played it on Wiiu.. Its brilliant
Super Mario Party is also good fun 👍🏻
I would recommend AI: THE SOMNIUM FILES if you are a fan of detective or visual novel games
I picked up Dead Cells and I'm really enjoying it, despite the fact that I normally hate roguelikes.
I hate when I buy games right before Nintendo does a huge sale...
I might get Ori, but most of the games I buy are physical, so if there's a game here I want, but am not buying, it's because of that.
Finally going to double-dip on Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze.
@Toads-Friend I loved Captain Toad when I played it on the Wii U and Super Mario Party is one of my favorite games to play with friends.
Has Ultra Street Fighter 2 EVER??? Gone on sale? How is that game still $40? It’s like Capcom is just keeping it priced so high out of spite now lol
My poor backlog. Think I’m going to get the following though 😪
Ni No Kuni
AC Rebel Collection
New Super Luckys Tale
Grid
Raiden V
Sega Virtual Racing
At least my wishlist is getting shorter...
@Apportal_SMM2 I think it's good. I'm considering picking that up or Lego Marvel
Maybe I'll grab Yooka-Laylee...we'll see.
Kinda annoyed that Star Wars Racer was delayed a day before release and then they went completely silent now. :/
I felt a great disturbance in the Internet. As if millions of wallets cried out in terror, and were suddenly silenced. I fear something awesome has happened.
I got
New super Lucky's tale
Hyper sentinel
A duel hand disaster: trackher
xenon valkyrie+
Overwhelm
Hammer watch
Exit the gungeon
Bloodroots
Talos principle
Thronebreaker
La mulana
Shinsekai Into the depths
In other waters
Creature in the well
Wunderling
Box boy box girl
N++
(Many of which have never been on sale before)
@boredlizard you're very cool!
@Francema yes. And yes. The funky mode is a great addition for little kids!
I finally got River City Girls and I'm loving the game.
Well.
My money saved for a vacation has got to go somewhere.
Tnx Nintendo!
No MM2, no Luigi's Mansion...
If this is the big sale they typically have just before E3 reveals, then maybe some hot reveals are coming next week?
There are some crazy sale prices
Why is it that north gets better deals than europe?
@The-Chosen-one Because people in Europe are overall richer.
Are we getting a European version of this sale?
This is the "WALLET DEATH PENALTY" sale.
Got dragon quest XI, been playing the 2d version, and holy f^#$, what was square thinking with FFV and FFVI on PC, they could have updated the graphics like that and released them like that. Let's hope they do that when they release them on switch.
That’s one of the best sales I have ever seen on the eshop
This is just the excuse I needed to pick up Ty the Tasmanian Tiger. I'm a total sucker for 3D platformers.
Man, this is tough. I think I'm going to put $50 on my account and just keep downloading cheap games until I'm out of cash.
@Sszx09 right??? And I’ve been on the hunt for a physical copy on eBay and they’re around $50! And scarce to boot! My guess is not many copies were made in the first place as Capcom was testing the Switch waters back then, but yea you’d think on the eshop it would be $15 or $20 by now.
@Tykut wow nicely done!! That’ll keep you busy! 🤣🤣
Cuphead for 5$?!?!?!?!
@ButterSpill fantastic game! absolutely loved it
no mario maker 2? -_-
@Francema Tropical Freeze is an awesome game! Standard difficulty can get really tough in some parts for kids but Funky Kong will make it way easier. Really loved the game but I bought it physical & sold after plugging about 35 hours into it. Depends how much you want to revisit it. Definitely worth playing if you haven't done so before!
@King-Demon @wisdomsprince I understand wanting to get a deal, but MM2 is worth the full price!
man, I wish that Double Dragon and Kunio would go on sale! $40 is a tough pill to swallow, but I'd throw down $20-25 for it!
I recommend the following.
Yoku’s Island Express
Valiant Hearts: The Great War
Crossing Souls
This, this I like!
Surprise surprise. Mainline Mario games, Zelda and Smash don't get discounted.
@boredlizard there are literally 1300 games on sale
Missing from the list: Spyro Trilogy is also in sale for $19.99, 50% off.
Basically everything on my wishlist is on sale, lol.
@Francema I think Tropical Freeze is worth the price. It probably wouldn’t be my top choice at that price, but it’s a fun, charming and actually pretty dang difficult game.
@IronMan30 I got Ni No Kuni too! Astral Chain is awesome and a good pick. I’ve heard dq xi is good, but I haven’t tried it.
@JeanPaul Astral Chain is worth it. It’s oozing cool, feels like you’re playing a Hong Kong action version of a monster movie and is really unique. Plus new IP that’s really good!
I picked up Firewatch too. That’s the game I’ve been waiting for a sale on, and it was a big one! Considering getting Thronebreaker, but haven’t taken the plunge yet...
Oh yeah.
Dq11 - Buying it tomorrow.
And then probably one of:
Steamworld Quest - Been waiting awhile for this one.
Yooka Laylee - a strong possibility at this price
Terraria - Been waiting on splitscreen though.
@Giygas_95 It's gone on sale. Not often (and I've missed them too) but you can see on DekuDeals. I've got a huge wishlist there, and it has a great graph that allows you to check price historically. Not sure if it's US eshop only though
@spurryitboi Did you buy it physical, or digital? I picked up both (digital) a while back and eshop auto-applied a code so total price is $60
@Francema great purchase but depends on how good your kids are at games. It is challenging but a fair challenge. The new funky mode on 2 players would be easy
@spurryitboi Just checked on DD. It's only ever been on sale once, and then only $3 off. It's an insane game both narratively and visually, but have enjoyed it so far myself. Was about halfway through when the 2k games came out and I got hooked by XCOM 2.
A hat in time. nice!
Recommend Downwell for $1, a fun roguelike game. The idea sounded ok when I first heard it, but it plays a lot better than I expected
I have bunch of games waiting on the shelf so no shopping spree for me, gonna just buy Thronebreaker probably
Theres been a big sale on the european eshop for some weeks now. The sale ends the 14th of june. Bought both of the darksiders games, which were 60% off
Nice sale! Luckily, we can just buy US eshop cards in Europe, change the region and buy games on the US eshop!!
Imagine there being 1,300 games discounted and people are still moaning 😂
@Benhop07 No, it's 15 bucks. The savings is 5 bucks.
I never hear about Australian offers I wish we had this kind of sales!!
Anybody else bothered by the format of "Savings, Sale Price, MSRP"?
Is that a British thing? I think, just IMO obvs, that it should be "Sale Price, MSRP". If you can't do such simple subtraction math in your head you probably shouldn't be allowed to spend any money to buy games.
Well I think I'm finally going to grab Grandia HD Collection at $27.99, tempted to grab Blaphemous at 12.99 also, but I need to grab the Pokemon Expansion pass still for next week and this doesn't even factor in with me still working on Xenoblade lol
@rjejr its’s just to show how great the sale is, and why is it a bother to you so much? Just because you aced math class doesn’t mean you need to brag about it to anybody. Just let people do their thing.
@Gil316 thank you! I got it! Liking it so far, well worth it!
@Sszx09 Thanks! Would you recommend Super Mario Bros U over TF?
@Friendly Follow up question, would you pick Super Mario Bros U over Tropical Freeze for this young audience?
@PickledKong64 Thanks! What's your opinion on Super Mario Bros U for kids then? Which on should I get more hours of coop fun for the money!?
@Francema oef.... hmm. Really depends on the age / ability of them to play games. Have they ever played any 2D platformers?
If not: Mario is always ok. Very accessible. And very easy, so you probably always have a satisfied child I suppose.
But this Donkey Kong is the most creative 2D platformer I’ve ever played. With lovable characters and enemies. With the style much like a kids show.
TF on the wii u without funky mode was too difficult to recommend. But with funky mode its difficulty is average now, I suppose. So if they’ve ever played a 2d platformer, I’d go for DK.
@Friendly Downloading it now! 😆
@Francema Great! I hope you all will enjoy it!
I LOVED the rhythm safari level. Lion King vibes. Once you get there you’ll know which one I mean.
@Francema While I believe Tropical Freeze is the better game, Mario Bros U is definitely more accessible for kids. It has 2 easy modes, 4 players and tons of levels. Tropical Freeze is challenging so it might take you and your kids more time to play. Both are great but for younger kids Mario U is your best choice.
@PickledKong64 Thanks!! Not fan of the art style but I was worried about Mario Bors U complexity... the trailer shows some crazy levels!! LOL. I appreciate your input.
@Tandy255 yeah only reason i havent bought at full price is my huge backlog of games currently and then paper mario coming out soonish
@Apportal_SMM2 It bothers me so much b/c once you get more than a few titles down the screen our brains and eyes are going to see a title we want and the first price we see is the one our brain is going to connect to the game. Nobody wants to look at 3 numbers trying to recall which number is the current price, which number is the MSRP and which number is the savings.
First number should always be the sale price b/c that's the 1 we see first. If there are only 2 numbers it's also very easy to see and assume that the lower price of 2 numbers is the sale price b/c things rarely go on sale for more than the MSRP, unless you're in Gamestop. So 1 or 2 numbers is easy, once you throw a 3rd number into the mix best to have the 1st number be the price people need to know, 2 numbers after that don't matter all that much.
Seriously, ask yourself, what's more important, the price you are paying or the amount you are saving? If a $60 game has a $10 savings and it's $50 and a $10 game only has an $8 savings and it's $2, are you buying the $60 game or $10 game based on savings alone? If they are going to add a $-off column they should also add a %-off column so we know how much we are saving off the price. It's a lot easier for people to do subtraction than %.
Well, it could've been worse lol. I caved for Limbo, Inside, and Grim Fandango Remastered. At least they're short.
Bought most of the games on my wish list that were on sale.....I’m so broke my children’s children will be paying my gaming debts. 🤣 And Maybe by that time I’ll have caught up on my Switch backlog.... I gotta be nearing 200 games owned now, jeez....
Went with Astral Chain....kept putting that game off for some odd reason. lol
Yes need me some of that crash bandicoot been waiting for a sale.
Just got Castlevania, just thinking getting shovel knight showdown.
I got Cyber Sleuth
Holy Crap! the price column sorts!!! (click the price header). Amazing (not sarcasm) @ryancraddock = A for the day!
Awesome sale, my haul:
Bulletstorm Duke of Switch
Call of Juarez
Talos Principle
Walking Dead S1
Jedi Outcast
@Giygas_95 I've seen XB2 on sale for 41.99. I picked It up a while back on sale last year.
@KryptoniteKrunch Very nice grabs, there! I just decided to grab the new Duke Nukem. That's a lot of game for only $5.00, and it comes out on the 23rd so that's so close!
I can't believe how quickly it vanished in the European store, i earmarked several, and the next day it was over.
@KryptoniteKrunch Bulletstorm is one of the finest and most underrated games on the system. i've played the campaign through six times now and still absolutely love it.
It's called a Summer sale but starts and ends in spring lol
