June is a big part of the annual gaming calendar but things are slightly different this year due to the cancellation of E3. Despite this, there'll still be plenty of new game announcements and events taking place online.
In terms of releases, this month is shaping up quite nicely. Clubhouse Games and The Outer Worlds have already been released, and later on, we can look forward to the Isle of Armor DLC for Pokémon Sword and Shield, Burnout Paradise Remastered, and the return of Mr. Driller in DrillLand.
When he’s not paying off a loan to Tom Nook, Liam likes to report on the latest Nintendo news and admire his library of video games. His favourite Nintendo character used to be a guitar-playing dog, but nowadays he prefers to hang out with Judd the cat.
Yeah I think I'll be sticking with Xenoblade. All that has my attention is the Smash Bros DLC and whatever new announcements Nintendo has in store for June.
I strive to be like Pyramid Head in that Silent Hill DLC image for Dead By Daylight in these crazy times; he's social distancing, about to wash his hands, AND wearing a mask!
I'm sure the blade is merely used to measure the distance between him and the closest person.
Is the Mr. Driller game any good? Never played the Geamecube version. It looks like a pretty standard puzzler, but the series is beloved (so I'm curious). Price seems high for what it appears to be.
@NullPointerExcep I was playing it on Steam and really enjoying it, then my PC crapped out and I never went back to it. Really hoping to get back into it on Switch.
@Zeldafan79 me too. We must be getting old. Clubhouse games is a yes but Burnout is a maybe when on sale but I’m not excited about it. And OuterWorlds too if they improve it a little I might be tempted. Hey ho it’s back to Witcher3 and Ive got Alien Isolation up next for me on Switch. Now there’s two exciting games while I wait for Paper Mario.
These round-ups are always a favourite video of the month, though i wish NL could commit to actually reviewing all the games they feature in these vids. Tbf all the ones released so far this month have had a review v intrigued by Summer in Mara and Outer Worlds
None of these interest me except maybe Ninjala. Ill just stick to older games rn and wait for the Smash ARMS dlc that im hyped for. Paper Mario Origiami King as well.
Also does dlc really count as new game? New content yes, but new game seems like the wrong word for it. EDIT: Didnt notice the subtitle, guess they didn't have a lot to put on this list :/
@Heavyarms55 The entirety of Cold Steel is one arc that takes place over few years. The first two games were one sorta-contained story and the third game picks up a couple years later. The main character is same, the kids are new, but there's a crapton of already established characters. I'd recommend playing the demo, because it gives you the entire prologue without revealing pretty much anything about how the story will progress. Just to see how you feel about the multitude of returning characters and callbacks to previous events! It's what I did myself. I personally chose to play 1 and 2 after all, but it's because the prologue got me excited X"D But you do you. Most fans will tell you to play the whole arc. Or better yet, the previous two arcs, but that's just ridiculous. I'm gonna go with "depends how you feel".
@Heavyarms55 Unfortunately, no. But they're both easily available on pc and not too demanding, they ran perfectly fine even on my toaster! And my toaster can barely run Skyrim!
@ReaperExTenebris Because reporting anything about something that you don't seem to like is "shilling".
Some people liked Pokemon Sword and Shield. Millions of people, actually. And while I'm not a Pokemon fan (nor am I much of a DLC person, because it often comes out long after I've lost interest in a game), this is games site. Specifically one with Nintendo news. What are they going to do, just not report on the Nintendo news because in their upcoming releases because some people don't think said release is a strong value proposition?
@Deltath I played XC a few years ago so I hooked my Dreamcast back up this afternoon, thinking about replaying Grandia 2 and a little fishing, I own the pole.
What does he mean that Nintendo's Digital Event has been delayed? As far as I know, Nintendo has not even mentioned doing a Digital Event this year. Did I miss something?
Clubhouse Games, Isle of Armor DLC and Smash DLC. I'm guessing the ARMS character will come on the week after the Isle of Armor DLC (so sometime between June 22nd and June 26th).
Nothing for me sadly. Just bought the Darksiders games in the big eShop sale. I was told darksiders were a mix of Bayonetta and Zelda, only played for two hours and can't really say its anywhere near Zelda. I can see the similarity with Bayonetta, but it's not as fast paced, which is a bummer. I also dont care that much about the main protaganist, reminds me of Geralt from the Witcher.
@FlashBlade I don't really understand how you could not be able to find a game on Switch right now. I've got like 30 games backloged on Switch right now.
Or you could sell it. There are plenty of people who would buy one used right now. There's no need to both burn money and deny someone else who would enjoy it. :/
@RPGamer If they port them I'll give the whole series a chance. But for now, I'll wait. I could get them on PC, but I don't know how long this old PC will last at this point. It blue screened the other day and made me realize it is nearly 8 years old. lol
During which its seen literally thousands of hours of use. I probably only paid like 10 cents per hour of use for this thing. I'd say it served me well.
@Norwegianguy did you purchase them both? Darksiders 1 has such a lame opening couple hours (probably until you get to the Twilight Cathedral/the first “dungeon”) Then the God of War/VERY 2010 game design melts away a little and the art direction and puzzle solving gets stronger.
I always say people should start with 2. It’s beautiful, has better music, a more likable protagonist, and a more interesting opening. The dungeon crawling in that series is just so satisfying to me, and in the wake of Zelda going in a direction that I’m not particularly fond of, it is my very favorite series
Ugh, there's several here that I want, but I need to save up for jULY TO GET Paper Mario and, what will 𝓞𝓑𝓥𝓘𝓞𝓤𝓢𝓛𝓨 be the true 'Game of the Year', Deadly Premonition 2!

Should just put a picture of XC at the top w/ the message - here, this should hold you over until Paper Mario Origami in July. 😎

I'm sure the blade is merely used to measure the distance between him and the closest person.
I’m getting the DLC for Pokémon!
I got Clubhouse Games, so I'm good for now.
Besides, I'm waiting for a big eShop sale...if there will be one...
>Isle of Armor
>Exciting
Pick one.

Hoping that maybe Crosscode will also be out this month, there will be an announcement next tuesday
When's the review embargo lifting for BFBB? Excited but also worried it could be broken.
Clubhouse Games and Outer Worlds for me.
SpongeBob, Ninjala and Burnout!!!
Oh yeah pokemon swsh exists
@Drangor I’ve heard a lot of Pyramid Head theories over the years but never that his blade looks like the Buster Sword 😂😂
Meh
Wheres metroid prime trilogy nintendo?
@NullPointerExcep I was playing it on Steam and really enjoying it, then my PC crapped out and I never went back to it. Really hoping to get back into it on Switch.
Going to tackle my backlog and play XCDE!
Either I'm getting old or games are getting lamer. Not one of these interests me.
Only Trials is on my rader.
I'm looking at Last of Us 2 for PS4.
But this will hopefully be a big month of gaming news!
@Zeldafan79 It's you.
I’m buying nothing till paper Mario I think 🤔

The wedding event in Animal Crossing is already beginning to wear me out, and I still haven't touched DQXI.
Summer in Mara is on my list, but I'll wait for reviews.

Mr Driller DrillLand is day one, and I think I'm grabbing Burnout. Tempted with Trials as well (eventually)
Pokemon DLC looks great. I'm also interested in that last one on the list - is it stand alone or do I need to play the first 2 games?
None of these interest me except maybe Ninjala. Ill just stick to older games rn and wait for the Smash ARMS dlc that im hyped for. Paper Mario Origiami King as well.

Trails! Trails! Trails! Maybe XC can keep me occupied til its release, but I'm at chapter 15 already so chances are slim OTL

@Zeldafan79 To be fair, there's not a lot there to get excited about.
@Dwarfette 1 and 2 aren't on Switch, are they?
@Heavyarms55 Unfortunately, no. But they're both easily available on pc and not too demanding, they ran perfectly fine even on my toaster! And my toaster can barely run Skyrim!
I've already purchased Liberated, then Burnout Paradise will be my only June purchase.
@rjejr Yeah, I feel like I won't even finish the base game by the time Paper Mario is out.
@ReaperExTenebris Because reporting anything about something that you don't seem to like is "shilling".

Xenoblade and Shantae will keep me pretty busy plus I'm getting a tattoo this month so I'm not really gonna spend much on games.
I'm thinking just SpongeBob this month. Oh, and the Smash DLC of course, but that's paid for already haha.
Burnout Paradise will be fun for 5 dollars later.
@Deltath I played XC a few years ago so I hooked my Dreamcast back up this afternoon, thinking about replaying Grandia 2 and a little fishing, I own the pole.

Spongebob is the most exciting by far!
Would be interested in Legend of Heroes if we had any of the previous releases on Switch. Falcom really done us dirty on both this and Ys
What does he mean that Nintendo's Digital Event has been delayed? As far as I know, Nintendo has not even mentioned doing a Digital Event this year. Did I miss something?
Will be over 400 hrs played with Pokémon Sword by the time I get through the new DLC. Not to mention the new raids and big changes to VGC coming too.
Smash DLC is going to get shadow dropped soon.
Clubhouse Games, Isle of Armor DLC and Smash DLC. I'm guessing the ARMS character will come on the week after the Isle of Armor DLC (so sometime between June 22nd and June 26th).

@ALinkttPresent yeah, weird. Didn't Nintendo cancelled the supposed E3 event? We will only get announements during the summer.
My switch is going in the trash.
@FlashBlade I don't really understand how you could not be able to find a game on Switch right now. I've got like 30 games backloged on Switch right now.

@eltomo
Same, I am very much looking forward to LoU2.
@FlashBlade
Seems a bit extreme.
@Norwegianguy did you purchase them both?

The Outer Worlds is by far the standout this month. It runs at a rock solid 30 fps! Just read the review on this site.😎
I want about half of these but PASS Summit destroyed my money so I will have to toss them on the wishlist for later.
Isle of Armor and Club games it is for me. Not the most exciting June line-up honestly but still has goodies in it
Ugh, there's several here that I want, but I need to save up for jULY TO GET Paper Mario and, what will 𝓞𝓑𝓥𝓘𝓞𝓤𝓢𝓛𝓨 be the true 'Game of the Year', Deadly Premonition 2!
