Vblank Entertainment has finally locked in a release date for Shakedown: Hawaii on the Wii U.
It'll be made available on 20th August on the Vblank store and the North American Wii U eShop. The standard edition will be priced at $24.99 and the special edition will set you back $29.99 (both are region-locked to the US).
The special edition comes with "everything the standard edition does" along with a digital soundtrack, protective case, and alternative cover art. Each is limited to 3,000 copies and once they're gone, they're gone.

There will be no PAL version, do I understand that right?
I do own every PAL Wii U game, but am not interested in going for an international full set.
This is the last time we're gonna see the wiiu category for a while, isn't it?
@MaxlRoseGNR Yep, that's correct. From Vblank:
"As mentioned previously, the Wii U version is unfortunately region-locked for North America. However, the Wii version is European Wii U compatible."
I’m calling it early. Wii U GOTY.
Rather have this on my Switch, tbh.
Isn't this also coming to the Wii?
It’s cool to see the Wii U getting support. I hope it fulfills a niché in the gaming community, like how the Dreamcast still has a strong following to this day.
I will track these down including a Switch copy!
Oh no, here I go triple-dipping again!
@HotGoomba It did. It's sold out now.
@HotGoomba The Wii version was released on 9th July. It was limited to 3,000 copies and has now sold out.
Watch as they're left with one thousand unsellable copies.
@Timmytron What a lovely person you are.
@Timmytron what a refreshingly positive way to speak about a dead man. 🙄
How pathetic 😂
During the Wii U days, had it been a PAL release, I'd have been very excited about this. But now... Even the recent Wii releases gor me more excited (and at least my Wii is region unlocked, had to to hack it to play Project Zero 4, and some other import games like Excite Bot.
Shakedown Collectors more like.
@Timmytron Classy.
I'm glad it's coming to Wii U (NA only) and Wii (PAL only) but if you already got it on Switch, PS Vita, or 3DS you don't really need either.
@Timmytron I'm a bit confused. You're obliged to pick on a dead person because a toy is region locked?
@MaxlRoseGNR The PAL release was on wii
@HobbitGamer Yep.
Wild. (NintendoLife wants me to write more than that, even though I don’t have anything else to add, so there you go)
Tempting, but I'll pass.
The Wii version of this sold out in the six minutes it took for the shop page to refresh.
Basically, if you're not a bot, don't even bother trying.
maybe. I was really interested BEFORE I finally got a Switch for Father's Day. But, lately I have been contemplating my huge Wii U backlog.
@Jaguar_Wong It actually didn’t sell out until last week. For some reason the Vblank store stated that it was sold out pretty much instantly but if you revisited the page around ten minutes later it became available to buy alongside Retro City Rampage DX and it took an extremely long time to sell out for a limited release. In fact, Retro City Rampage DX is still available and there are no notifications about limited stock like Shakedown Hawaii had for the past few weeks or so, possibly due to the lack of notice regarding an an announcement on that one, so you can still purchase it if you’re interested.
@NintendoWiiDS
Well that's really effing annoying.
I was only really interested in the Wii version of Shakedown from a collection perspective, as it is likely to be last Wii game ever properly produced - Oh well, worse things happen at sea!
@BoyfriendOfDeath I bet they sell out. There are WiiU completionists.... And collectors. But yeah, this is not a bet I would want to take.
I want to pre-order!
owo what's this?
