What it probably actually means - you will need to stroke your Pokemon with touch screen, and/or need the touchscreen to do special training or whatever.
I don't care about that stuff, I just want a good ol' RPG and I really hope nothing is sacrificed by playing on the tele.
@NinChocolate I think I'm mostly with you on this one. I don't see an issue with describing the Switch as a handheld, especially to the layman.
The Switch IS a handheld. It's also a home console. Calling it either/or really shouldn't bother anyone. It can be whatever the user wants, that's the magic!
Well I don't think many people will be expecting a new Eternal Darkness at this point. That'd be pretty gnarly. Didn't they do something with the trademark recently?
I've never really thought about it before, but a device that can stream games could potentially be really cheap... as all it needs to do is stream data to and from their servers, right? I can imagine seeing an advert for a gaming device that wows with its awesome graphics to then reveal a super cheap price of £100, or whatever.
Thing is though you'd always need an internet connection. I don't think we're quite there yet. I know WiFi is everywhere and everyone has their mobile internet but is it just too unreliable and laggy to be viable?
I can see it taking off someday but I don't think I'm on board just yet.
It's interesting that Tomb Raider is cited as a big seller for them as with the reboot they were disappointed with sales and the future of the series was unsure.
I love low poly graphics. I'm a total 90s kid though. However, I'm not a fan of boring games and I'm pretty sure this reviewed poorly. If it's a couple quid I might pick it up. Perhaps during Halloween.
I got the trial and after an hour or two of playing NES, I'm already a bit bored of it tbh. Shame there's no killer app (YouTube would do for me) to entice people to pay.
@TheDragonDAFan I edited my original comment for clarity, but yeah, I know it's free. That's what I meant. I will probably not bother subscribing and just continue to play free games.
The first game came out when the eShop was relatively empty... so lots of people jumped on it and were ultimately disappointed by the game. As a result, I can see this game not doing as well.
I think most Nintendo loyalists have these games elsewhere, probably multiple times.
Everybody else probably doesn't even care about the NES.
I think we're all in agreement that Nintendo need to step it up a bit. I'll try the free 7 day trial, but might just not bother subscribing and using my Switch to play Fortnite for now. (as it's free)
Nintendo's presence in the UK is night and day better than it was a year or two ago. I've noticed it's crept back into major supermarkets, where it was previously abscent. Good on you Ninty!
I know Sakurai and his team don't tend to leave stones unturned, and having codecs for only a certain few (the Brawl characters), seems off. I think they'd want to do codecs for everyone... and I hope they even re-do the old ones.
Anyway... the game is a few months from release... surely they'd have contacted him by now if they were going to? We'll see I guess.
I think we know just about all there is to know, besides the other 10 unrevealed NES games.
Personally, I think I'll be buying it, but I am very disappointed. Is it really so hard to get some N64 and GameCube stuff on there? C'mon Nintendo... and don't even get me started on the voice chat.
I've played over 300 hours on the Switch, almost exclusively handheld.
The game is still completely playable.
For some reason, the latest update has lowered the resolution. It's needlessly fuzzy... I hope they sort it out, but it's not unplayable by any means.
What Switch owners should be moaning about is the lack of a career tab. I have like 200 solo wins, and I'd really like to not have to tally my own wins.
I think, reading between the lines, his comments indicate involvement in some way. Why else be so vague? If he wasn't involved he'd likely just say. Now, whether or not he's making new content or allowing his music to be remixed is to be seen. But that's just my perspective.
Crazy Justice: [Uphill] Battle Royale. It'll never topple Fortnite, but no harm in trying I guess. Going free to play will help. I'll try it out if it's free. It looks pretty naff in the videos I've seen... and changing the release date and stuff with very little-to-no updates just makes them seem a bit amateur, imo.
In regards to motion controls, I'm all for them. However, I do think that games should matchmake with your control method in mind. People with motion controls play with other people using them. Keeps things fair. (This bugs me about Fortnite and Splatoon, as I CBA with motion controls but feel like I am at a disadvantage.)

Re: Review: Beyond Enemy Lines: Covert Operations - A Tragic FPS That's Beyond Hope
Hmm, didn't Nintendo Life send some tweet reminding us that this game was coming the other day? Felt like a sales/promotion thing
Re: Pokémon Sword & Shield Are Being Developed With A Focus On Switch's Handheld Mode
No waggle/pointer stuff - great!

Re: Nintendo Reconfirms Release Windows For The Biggest Switch Games Of 2019 And Beyond
I'm most excited for Luigi's Mansion 3, and I hope they re-release 1 & 2 to get us hyped for it. Imagine playing the whole trilogy on Switch... in HD!
Re: Nintendo Has "No Plans" To Announce New Hardware At E3
I'm totally happy with my Switch and can't afford a new one just yet anyway. That said, I can't wait to see a new beefier model.
Re: Video: A First Look At Among The Sleep's Award-Winning Horror Running On Switch
Looks interesting. I will see how it reviews, but it'll probably be a wait-for-halloween sale pick up for me. It's on my radar though!
Re: Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers Officially Confirmed For Switch
More musou games... yay...

Re: Nintendo Labo Variety Kit Surpasses One Million Sales
I'm tempted to try the VR kit, but ultimately, I'm not really fussed on Labo. I'm betting that they were hoping on selling way more than 1m.
Re: Red Faction Guerrilla Re-Mars-tered Is Coming To Switch After All, THQ Nordic Confirms
I like that THQ give the option to favour either performance or graphics.
Re: Remake Of Stylish Cel-Shaded Shooter XIII Coming To Switch This November
So it's remade from the ground up? Or is it just an HD remaster?
Re: Funko Eager To Produce Nintendo-Themed Pop Figures
Self proclaimed 'nerds'/'geeks' buy them. They don't realise nor care that they're mass produced tat.
Always bugs me a bit when I go round a mates and they have Pop figures, lol. I do, however, understand that I'm just a miserable fool.
If they make people happy then so be it.

Re: Talking Point: Come In Nintendo 3DS, Your Time Is Up
I think it's dangerous for Nintendo to put all their eggs in one basket with the Switch.
They would be wise to launch a new DS, or a powerful not portable Switch for exclusively home use. Whatever they do, I hope they don't fluff it up.
Re: Rumour: Dataminer Uncovers SNES Games For Nintendo Switch Online Service
@USWITCH64 Well there's always that too I suppose. I'm hoping for N64 games on Switch so I don't have to deal with PAL versions.
Re: Rumour: Dataminer Uncovers SNES Games For Nintendo Switch Online Service
If it's N64 then I'm stoked. I've got my 3DS for SNES and NES games.

Re: Nintendo Labo Vehicle Kit Has Disappointing Launch In Japan, Switch Still Best-Selling Console

Meanwhile, Xbox's marketing team be like 'SALES UP 500%'

Re: Sega Mega Drive Classics Is Coming To Switch This Winter With Exclusive Features
I'm a bit confused, what's the point in this and Sega AGES or whatever it was, that also has Sonic 1 on it? So there's two ways to buy Sonic 1?
And where is Sonic 3 (& Knuckles)?!
Why is it ALWAYS so neglected?

I hope this doesn't push Ubisoft even more down the 'only cute stuff sells on Nintendo' route, as that's not true. We just want good games.
Re: Nintendo Download: 30th August (Europe)
They're discounting games with online play in a bid to get more peolple to pay for Nintendo Online... I see right through them, but idm.
Re: Cosmic Star Heroine Dev Explains Its "Frustrating" Experience Working With Nintendo
Make an exceptional game and then you may not need Nintendo to push it. Perhaps that'll even make them want to.

The Switch Tax? More like a Nintendo Tax. Every Nintendo console has more expensive games u_u

Re: Review: Morphies Law (Switch eShop)
Kinda lost interest in this now. Shoulda given it some more dev time. Might pick it up if it has a price drop/updates.

Re: Random: Perfect Dark Speedrunner Matches Air Force One World Record
Doesn't seem that special... will have to wait for Goose to do a video on it, he'll explain what's going on a bit better.
Re: Battle Royale Newcomer Crazy Justice Will Support "Splatoon-Style Motion Controls"

I'll likely pick this one up on sale or something.
