Nice! I loved this game on the Ipad and played it all the way through. I'm looking forward to seeing how the multiplayer is incorporated. For $10 this is a good deal.

Playing Turf Wars is also a good way to level up equipment or try out new weapons without sacrificing rank.

@rbmoura85 I like it that MH isn't open world. Half the point is battling the monster in each section, and dealing with the environment in that section.

This looks so great. How great would it be if you could play Monster Hunter on your 3ds and WiiU and have your progress sync up?

I didn't play the original and I want to like this. I like action based RPG games, but I have hard time playing text heavy, story based games like Bravely Default or Fire Emblem games. The video above does look pretty crappy and running through those environments really looks like a chore.

Polygon gave this game a 3.5! After playing this demo I'm really surprised NL gave it such a good review.

I couldn't stand waiting for the enemy to move in the demo. To me this was a game breaker. It's a shame because aspects of this game are really great, but I can't stand the frustration of just sitting there looking at the screen. I'll pass on this one.

Great game and a great price. Nintendo's 2 for 1 sale (buy on Wii U get it for 3ds) makes it an easy purchase for me. This game is pretty tough, but very rewarding. Thanks for the review.

Great article. Thanks for sharing this. I bought the game yesterday and it's my first time playing a Monster Hunter game. I'm only a few quests in, but I love it and all this info helps.

These ads are basically saying, "Sure, our last product was pretty crappy, but this new one isn't!"

I've never played a Monster Hunter game but I'm thinking of getting this one. My only hesitation would be that playing this game could feel like doing chores. For example, running around doing errands for the villagers. If it's fun and exciting most of the time, I'm all for it.

The game looks great. But it looks like you're going to be looking at the Gamepad a lot to draw those lines, which is a huge bummer. Those Murphy levels on the last Rayman almost ruined that game for me.

I just bought a copy through the Eshop a couple of weeks ago. I haven't played this since it came out on N64 and I'm loving it. What a great game! I was unable to find a copy for less than $40 in the states. I think Gamestop has some used copies.

I'll definitely get one provided I can trade in my old XL to Gamestop for the $100 credit. I have most of my games digitally downloaded on my system, so I'm not sure how that trade is going to work. So we'll see.

Does anyone know how the controls will be different between the two handhelds? Will you be able to control the camera with the new C stick? I'm just wondering if it's worth getting a new system to play this game.

I picked MK8 because almost every course is great. It was tough to choose this over N64. I still think the 2 player vs. mode on 64 is the best... it's like a Chess game between 2 good players who know how to use their prizes wisely. There are some amazing courses on the 64 version that make for some epic battles. Unfortunately, there's a lot of courses that are just too long and boring. As far as battle mode goes, I always thought that was more of a novelty, and didn't play it much, I haven't even tried playing the MK8 one.

If you don't have a 3DS yet this is a great deal. I wouldn't wait for the new one. You could be enjoying Smash Bros, Zelda, Mario Land 3-D and a slew of other games right now!

I just got through playing both cups and they are so much fun. The new courses are the best in the game in my opinion.

I really hope the New 3ds come out by the time MM hits the shelves. I've recently gotten back into video games (WiiU) and I don't have a 3ds yet so I'm holding out. I loved MM back when it came out, but it's been so long. S.T.E.A.M looks really good too. I might break down and buy a 3ds now to play Ocarina 3d and some other 3ds games, but I hope I can wait

I just played the US demo. I'm glad I had the chance to try this before I bought it. I found this game to be very fast, hard to tell exactly what's going on, and a lot of button mashing. Having said that, I think I kinda liked it... I don't play a lot of games like this, and it kinda reminds me of Batman Arkham City which is on sale for $14 on Amazon. I think I'd rather replay that for $14 than spend $50 on this game. I was actually kind glad when the demo was over, but I'm gonna give it another try even though the music is horrible.

Dang I just bought a used copy of Tropical Freeze from Gamestop for $40

I'm not really excited about this game but I might buy it. There's not really any good hack n' slash games on Wii U (unless I'm neglecting one?)... so that might be reason enough to buy it.

Where is Pikmin 3? I think that's the best game out right now. It's the best looking game and video of Pikmin would have looked great. It's an exclusive, right?
