The Wii U eShop is doing a good job of attracting quality multiplatform indie titles lately, and the next in line is BADLAND: Game of the Year Edition, which lands on 30th July in North America and Europe. The North American price is $9.99, with Euro pricing still to be confirmed.
The Wii U version builds on the original tablet game with completely redesigned and revamped controls which offer full directional control over the game's characters. We are assured that the levels have also been rebuilt to suit the new control mechanics.
The game's visuals have also been given an Full-HD 60 FPS makeover and the Wii U version comes with up-to-four-player, local old-school style multiplayer with full support for the Pro controller, GamePad, Wii Remote and Wii Remote Plus controllers. The game includes off-screen play for the GamePad, local achievements and online leaderboards to compare stats with your friends.
Furthemore, the new edition features over 15 hours and 100 levels of single-player story content, 100 co-op levels, and 27 multiplayer deathmatch stages for up-to-four-person old school style-local multiplayer fun and frolics.
Reviews for the game are "very positive" on STEAM, so this looks like one to watch out for. Are you looking forward to exploring BADLAND when it arrives in just over a week?

Yes! More iPad/tablet Virtual console games! Hope we get Candy Crush and Temple Run also!
Its trailers haven't appealed to me, to be honest. I'd be interested to hear opinions from those who have played it on other platforms.
This is actually a really fun game, I may buy it again when it hits the WiiU.
@Captain_Gonru I have this game. It's OK. Pretty boring overall. Maybe relative to phone games it's pretty good. I won't pay 3 to 10 times the amount just to have it on Wii U though.
Graphics somehow reminds me of Knytt Underground.
Through a promotion, I got this game for free on iPad and was bored almost immediately. I think the nice graphics cloud people's judgment.
I've enjoyed this on Android, but haven't purchased on PC or Xbox because reasons.
I enjoyed this on my phone/tablet, but would much rather have d-pad controls as well, will make it much better imo
Eh. I'm just not interested in this one.
I have this on STEAM, and have enjoyed what I have played so far. The person who complained another 'mobile' game is coming to the Wii U. Well, it is now on Xbox 360 and ONE, PS3 and PS4 and STEAM, and most comments are very positive.
A 15 hour long single player story, local multi player, full HD 60FPS graphics, all for around ten UK pounds. For me, it is pretty good value.
Looks okay, I'll have to check it out once it's on sale, which I usually don't do.
I have to admit, one probably needs a bit of a masochist streak to fully enjoy this game. I played it on iPhone and was frankly astounded by the variety of distinct ways the game managed to kill off my poor clones.
At any rate, I have to disagree with the commenters saying this game is "boring". Just how many buzzsaws would they need to add to make it exciting?
Nice! I loved this game on the Ipad and played it all the way through. I'm looking forward to seeing how the multiplayer is incorporated. For $10 this is a good deal.
@Captain_Gonru It's actually a really, really well-made and fun game with a great atmosphere and it will easily last you dozens of hours if you're trying to find all the secrets and get all the achievements.
