Re: No Plans For Call Of Duty: Black Ops 4 On Nintendo Switch, Treyarch Says

MisterMan

For my first FPS on the Switch I picked up Immortal Redneck and I'm glad I didn't spend more than $20 to trial out an FPS on the Switch. I really don't like it at all. The optimization was poor and playing an FPS in handheld is pretty rough. I love the Switch for almost every other genre of game, but I won't be picking up any FPS on this console in the future.

I picked this up yesterday and can't stop playing. The combat feels so good and mixing up your spells really changes the way the game plays. This is up there with my top roguelike games. If you're a fan of the genre do not pass this up.

Re: Review: Immortal Redneck (Switch eShop)

MisterMan

I just picked this up and the gameplay is really good but the game is really blurry. The game doesn't even look like it's HD. The HUD is fine, but the actual game looks like 540p or something. Just a heads up to anyone who's thinking of getting this.

Re: Review: Immortal Redneck (Switch eShop)

This looks very tempting. The motion blur thing effect and 30fps are the only thing that might make me pick this up on PC instead, but I've had it on my Steam wishlist for awhile and still haven't bought it. I'd probably play it much more if I got it on the Switch.

Re: Feature: The Biggest Retail Games Hitting Nintendo Switch This Spring

@ThanosReXXX ok, if you're excited about playing these games then great. The only new game on this list that interests me is Octopath Traveler. I'll be getting Dark Souls because that game has insane replay value, unlike the other ports on this list. In my opinion, this is a really weak lineup. I hope there's some upcoming indie games that can fill for this weak showing.

Re: Review: Flinthook (Switch eShop)

MisterMan

I played quite a bit of this on PS4 and really enjoyed it. It gets a little old after awhile and doesn't offer the replayability of some other roguelikes, but it's still a great game with wonderful art and music.

I remember when the Switch first came out and I was buying every game that was released on the Eshop and most of them were pretty good. Lately it seems like there’s a lot of trash on there.

Re: Capcom Explains (Again) Why Monster Hunter World Isn't Coming To Switch

MisterMan

After sinking dozens of hours into the beta I really don't think this game would work well at all on the Switch without some serious downscaling; however, I'd be totally fine with that. I really miss being able to play this game on the go and being tethered to my TV to play World is kind of a bummer. Also, the beta didn't run great on the regular PS4 with frequent frame drops. Hopefully they will improve this with the release version. I'm really excited for the PC version though. It's a beautiful game and so much fun to play.

Re: Review: Enter The Gungeon (Switch eShop)

MisterMan

@AcesHigh use your head for a minute. How would making a Roguelike be a cop out? The game is 5 floors long with a boss at the end of each one. If this was a linear game there would be 5 bosses, you’d start as the same character and get the same weapons each time. Now that it’s a Roguelike, theres over 20 bosses, 4 starting classes (not including the co op character), there’s like 190 guns and over 200 items. Before you start bashing something stop and think for one second. Seriously, just one second.

Re: Capcom Could Be Bringing Even More Ports To Nintendo Switch

MisterMan

@JaxonH porting Dragon's Dogma would actually give it a 3rd chance. The game was already given a 2nd chance when it was released on PC in 2016. And then it was released again on PS4 and XBOX One, so this would actually be more like a 4th chance for the game to find a market. I'd still probably buy it (and not finish it) for a third time though.

Re: Review: Slain: Back From Hell (Switch eShop)

MisterMan

Wow! A 4 seems way too low in my opinion. I have this on Steam and played it before they fixed and patched the game and wouldn't have rated that low when it came out, even in it's broken state. The game is a lot better now and really enjoyable. $20 does seem a bit steep though. I'd pick it up on sale in the future if this looks appealing to you.
