Re: Feature: The Best Metroidvania Games On Nintendo Switch

MisterMan

@McDerbert Unworthy is a black and white platformer inspired by Dark Souls. It's on PC as well so you can find it on the Steam store to check out. It has the typical Metroidvania stuff (getting upgrades and going back to find secrets, etc.). There's also some light character upgrade stuff, several weapons and items. There's some lore and NPC stuff (typical of Soulslike games). The game was basically made by one person so it's pretty simple, but the boss fights alone are worth playing for. They are really well done, the levels themselves are OK, but not great. I bought it in the NA Eshop, I'm not sure if it's available everywhere? It took me about 10 hours to beat but I wasn't very thorough at all, and could have probably put in another 5 hours to find secrets and maybe more bosses?

@ThanosReXXX calling something "crap" and then asking for me to value your opinion is about as dumb as you can get. In your second comment you actually gave a reason for not liking this design, but in your original comment you just called it "crap" so I responded to your dumb comment in a deserving manner. OK? Alright, we're done.

@SwitchVogel I think you were way off in your review. You mention that MHGU, Warframe and Diablo are your most played games on the Switch but then criticize this game for it's emphasis on multiplayer. I've been playing this for the past couple days and it is so much fun. Getting a good group together and tearing through levels grabbing all the loot is such a blast and highly addictive. I'm curious how far you ended up getting? The endgame is really good. Making builds and working with your team is handled very well. For me, this game is a 8/10 easily. Some of the combat could be more interesting, but this is a solid game and it's sad to see it so low on Metacritic because of this review. I just hope more reviewers score this game and play it multiplayer. I mean, you wouldn't go through all of G rank solo and then criticize the game for being overly harsh, would you?

This game is a lot of fun if you're into these types of games. I picked it up on PC awhile back and really enjoyed it but only played for about 5 hours because I ended up playing Vagante a lot more (which is similar but deeper and has multiplayer). I had been meaning to get back to it though. I bought it on the Switch last night and I'm really glad I did. It's perfect for quick sessions and it's hard to put down. Highly recommended.

Despite all the issues this game has I absolutely love it. The combat feels great and the RPG elements are top notch. This game holds up really well for multiple playthroughs too. And while certain builds are very OP, they're all really fun to play. I bought this last night for my 3rd time for the Switch and just played for a few hours loving every minute of it.

@Spectra World was a disappointment? Wow, I had the exact opposite experience. World was so good that it's going to be very hard to go back to the older entries and I'm debating even picking this version up. I played some MHG the other day in anticipation of this release and the overall combat felt much more simplistic and spammy, and of course the QOL improvements were greatly missed. All of the weapon combo changes in World made each weapon better and much more fun to play in my opinion, and I just felt limited playing MHG. Sure, there's all the weapon arts and styles to pick from, but those don't feel as satisfying as shoulder charging through a monster's roar to unleash your true charge with a great sword, or power charging your hammer with a big bang combo. I'm glad people in the West are getting an opportunity to play this addition in English but I'm still debating on picking it up.

I am very hyped for Dead Cells. I played about 50 hours of the first Early Access version on Steam but haven't played since and I'm looking forward to the changes and additions.

Re: You Can Pre-Order Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate On Switch From The Nintendo UK Store Now

MisterMan

@Kimyonaakuma If you have the option to play games on another platform, Monster Hunter World would be a much better place to start with the series. There's a lot of content here, and in my opinion, it's overload. And as everyone has said, the quality of life improvements made in Monster Hunter World make the game so much more enjoyable and it's very hard to go back to the older games. If you don't have a PS4, Xbox, or PC and really want to check out the series and are willing to put in some time and be willing to research stuff online, then this game will be worth your investment.
