I’d love to own this but I’ve had trouble finding time to use NSO, which makes it hard to justify staying subscribed. I really wish they released this as a “VB mini” like they did with the NES and SNES. I feel like they probably would have sold more too? Maybe?

This will be a “wait for a sale” purchase for me. These collections always feel so appealing until I actually purchase them and they just sit in my endless backlog. 🫤

I know it’s 30 years since red and blue, but we are very overdue for some gold/silver love!

This was a pretty easy pass for me.

There’s some really solid metal arrangements of this OST out there (as if this OST didn’t go hard enough as it is).

Most of the rumoured stuff doesn’t really interest me, so I’m hoping to be surprised with something unexpected.

This is a really solid update and totally unexpected!

I just hit the credits last night and was left feeling disappointed overall. There were some high, highs, but the lows were so, so low that it really soured the overall taste. The most fun I had was when I had all the upgrades and was able to fully explore each area without being restricted to the linear path the game wanted me to follow. But even that wasn’t enough for me to want to traverse Sol Valley on repeat to 100% it all.

@BrewsterTea I put some good hours into that trilogy back when I owned my 360. I would definitely pick up a trilogy collection on Switch 2 to revisit it as it was many, many years ago!

@TYRANACLES loved me some Mass Effect back in my 360 days!

@ElkinFencer10 a solid option if you’re a PC or multiplatform gamer. Unfortunately, I am not.

I’d love to see a Star Trek game where you can freely roam the ship and travel across the galaxy to different planets that you can explore and complete missions on. I don’t think this game is it though since it appears to focus more on space combat.

These have been a blast. I don’t usually do screens with my kids but these have been great to calm our youngest who is in the middle of teething and makes a habit of partying at 3 AM.

This would certainly bag Nintendo some goodwill. The GKC chatter is even reaching the “normies” (ie my sister-in-law who is looking at Christmas options for my nieces and is wondering what the heck a GKC even is).

Hoping this comes with the physical edition we’ve been hearing about!

@Zeeba it’s nothing to be sorry about. I’m still supporting the indies that interest me. Just buying less than I usually do/being more mindful of file sizes prior to purchasing. The good news is a lot of the indies are smaller file sizes anyways.

The switch 2 generation has made me a lot more conservative in what I spend my money on. I refuse to pay for a micro SD, so I’m sticking to first party stuff only and reducing my eshop purchases overall.

I am very against the use of AI in creative areas. However, it has its uses as Sega seems to be referring to here. I work in web development as a one man dev team, and I can’t tell you how amazing it is to be able to whip up snippets of code in seconds where it would previously take hours. It’s allowed me to take on more projects that I otherwise wouldn’t be able to. Applying this to game development (if done right) would mean cheaper and more efficient game dev, which is attractive to these big companies.

The main theme though. And man does Vi-O-La slap. It's begging for a metal cover. ToxicxEternity, make it happen!

@Samalik Surely having difficulty options does not harm sales. If anything it just casts a wider net. This is a continuation of a series that had its last entry 18 years ago after all. If this game is to succeed it has to target a new audience as well, so long as it doesn't negatively impact the OGs.

Bananza will always have a special place in my heart. This game salvaged the Switch 2 launch for me after a series of really unexpected moves from Nintendo. Lots of hope and optimism for the future after playing through this game.

I think I'm a bit oversaturated with expensive racers at the moment to consider yet another. I'm happy this one is being reviewed favorably, but the $100 CAD price tag is making me a bit more selective with what I'm picking up these days.

Notifications for sales is the draw for me here. No more haunting my wishlist on the daily!

I’m planning a trip to Japan for next year and am super hyped to check this out. Even more excited to snag a 40th anniversary Mario Bros ticket!

Most of the third party stuff at launch and up until now hasn’t really interested me to be honest. But I’m excited for the future and the potential it holds!

@bosh this is my question also. I’m the only one in my circle that has one, and any older folks I know with kids are blown away and completely turned off by how expensive it is. Still happy to see this success, it’s just confusing!

This game will always have a special place in my heart. It was both my first and last game that I played on my Switch 1. I finished the game when I got it at launch, but saved the 100% completion until the week before the Switch 2 came out.

As I’ve gotten older I’ve gotten a lot better at recognizing these sorts of FOMO tactics as really bad for my health. I won’t let you get me Pokémon! 😌

I’ve been convinced to hold off. It’s $100 CAD for me that’s hard to justify at the moment. I’ll wait a couple years for a used copy to pop up. I actually just grabbed a pre-owned copy of Arceus the other day for $40 CAD!

Walmart Canada just had a sale on the MKW bundle, knocking $70 CAD off the price!

I was in town at my local GameStop’s opening today so I decided to roll the dice and see if I could grab one.

The employee said they were out right away but only referenced the first wave. I mentioned this tweet and he said “we don’t get shipments on weekends”. I asked if that meant they would have them on Monday. He said no because they are an EB games, not a GameStop. This is of course contrary to the fact that they are still a GameStop, as indicated by the sign outside the store.
