@Samalik Surely having difficulty options does not harm sales. If anything it just casts a wider net. This is a continuation of a series that had its last entry 18 years ago after all. If this game is to succeed it has to target a new audience as well, so long as it doesn't negatively impact the OGs.
Bananza will always have a special place in my heart. This game salvaged the Switch 2 launch for me after a series of really unexpected moves from Nintendo. Lots of hope and optimism for the future after playing through this game.
I think I'm a bit oversaturated with expensive racers at the moment to consider yet another. I'm happy this one is being reviewed favorably, but the $100 CAD price tag is making me a bit more selective with what I'm picking up these days.
Most of the third party stuff at launch and up until now hasn’t really interested me to be honest. But I’m excited for the future and the potential it holds!
@bosh this is my question also. I’m the only one in my circle that has one, and any older folks I know with kids are blown away and completely turned off by how expensive it is. Still happy to see this success, it’s just confusing!
This game will always have a special place in my heart. It was both my first and last game that I played on my Switch 1. I finished the game when I got it at launch, but saved the 100% completion until the week before the Switch 2 came out.
As I’ve gotten older I’ve gotten a lot better at recognizing these sorts of FOMO tactics as really bad for my health. I won’t let you get me Pokémon! 😌
I’ve been convinced to hold off. It’s $100 CAD for me that’s hard to justify at the moment. I’ll wait a couple years for a used copy to pop up. I actually just grabbed a pre-owned copy of Arceus the other day for $40 CAD!
I was in town at my local GameStop’s opening today so I decided to roll the dice and see if I could grab one.
The employee said they were out right away but only referenced the first wave. I mentioned this tweet and he said “we don’t get shipments on weekends”. I asked if that meant they would have them on Monday. He said no because they are an EB games, not a GameStop. This is of course contrary to the fact that they are still a GameStop, as indicated by the sign outside the store.
I still have yet to use mouse controls on my switch 2. They were never a big draw for me personally so this doesn’t bother me. I’m looking forward to future titles which may surprise me with creative ways to use them though!
I was enticed by this surprise drop and the heavy nostalgia factor of DK Island, but I am not a fan of roguelikes or massive price tags that don't match content, so this is unfortunately a pass for me.
Difficulty is a tricky thing to get right. I completed the OG Hollow Knight, but there was one memorable evening where I stayed up until 2 AM getting obliterated by a boss and questioning whether I had a problematic relationship with video games. I suppose that is the appeal of the game though 🤣
I’m excited and will basically pay anything reasonable that they want to charge, but the budget nerd in me wants to know how much it is. NS2 era got me pinchin’ pennies.
I’ll admit I’m intrigued, if only because of the emphasis I’m seeing on the major departure from the classic formula. I have all the 3DS and half of the Switch era Pokémon games in my backlog at the moment, so I’m not really here for more classic takes 🤣
Has anyone heard if there will be an upgrade path from NS1 to NS2? If so, my plan would be to grab this on NS1 physically and then just grab the download to upgrade to NS2. My brain has less of a problem with add on DLC. 🤓👍
The biggest drop for me was Pac-Man World 2, but that quickly got squashed with news that it’s a game key-card. I know everyone complains about them and the conversation is getting tiresome, but they seriously suck.
I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t disappointed that it’s a partner showcase. There’s definitely going to be some bangers, but it’s soured for me by the likelihood that everything will be on a key card. Having said that, there are whispers of things changing in that regard, so we shall see!
@Sambuc I’d love to know the reason why they won’t. Legends was a banger, and there has to be a thirst for more amongst the fan base. Having said that, they can really only charge so much for a 2D side scroller, so I can see that being a limiting factor. I’d take a new 3D entry though!
My excitement for this died really quickly when I remembered these ports will all likely be game key cards. I managed to borrow Sonic X Shadow from my local library and tested out the whole key card thing for myself and I am not here for it.
Not to knock these bonuses, but I still have my GameCube shirt and Master Quest disc I received when preordering Wind Waker. Gold standard for preorder bonuses that hasn’t been topped in 23 years.
There was a time where I would have went bananas over a game like this. Lifelong Star Wars fan here that totally scrubbed myself of the brand entirely over the last few years.
I was a big fan of the Pac-Man World games and really want to see that style of gameplay evolve while maintaining series staples. I’m not sure that Re-Pac did well enough that anyone is ready to take a risk and throw a bunch of money at the IP though.
@Misima how often do they release a demo ahead of a first party release? I think that’s awesome, and like I said, I would love to see that happen for other first party releases in the future. Especially more…shall we say… robust ones?
It’s great to see them seeking feedback, especially in Japan where the physical market is quite large. Having said that, this has the same vibe as a survey that measures employee morale and comes to the conclusion that morale is super high while ignoring major issues.
@Kilroy I think this observation would hold if this were later in the console’s lifespan. First party Nintendo games are pretty scarce right now so there is a chance that people are just playing whatever they can online.
@Bizzyb that’s good to hear! I actually own it already and played through it once. Up to giving it another run through though if what you’ve shared is true! Cheers!

Re: Nintendo Music "Special Release" Adds Seven Tracks From Metroid Prime 4: Beyond
The main theme though. And man does Vi-O-La slap. It's begging for a metal cover. ToxicxEternity, make it happen!
Re: PSA: Copy Your Save In Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Before You Enter The Endgame
@LazyDaisy Listening to it as we speak! Holy smokes does the main theme go hard.
Re: PSA: Copy Your Save In Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Before You Enter The Endgame
This is a welcome tip. I have heard that this game is rather accessible to 100%, so I will be going for it!

@Elektrogeist1287 It arguably helps sales if that counts?
