The difficulty is pretty good. The main issue as I see it is early game there's just so few options to change up that if you hit a wall you might just have to scale said wall, with few alternatives. Once things open up yeah, there's a lot of tools to help.
Kind of a metroidvania problem in general though, no easy answer to that.
Ganondorf is supposed to be a little too evil I think. If Nintendo ever were to do it, I would imagine they do it like Bowser's Inside Story, where Ganon is still technically a villain, but in the context of the story, is not the antagonist and must begrudgingly help the heroes. He could even betray them at the end and you end up beating him with Link.
I actually booted this up in 2022 to have one more go at it. In my several hours it was surprisingly active, but the people still playing were way better than me. Sad to see this old friend fade away, a unique competitive experience for sure.
Thanks for this. When Octopath II didn't even get nominated for best score at The Game Awards, I felt betrayed. Game's got some problems, but for being an improvement over the original in nearly every way, I hardly see it appreciated like the first game was.
An official Nintendo podcast is a cool idea, but unfortunately their discussions on the game didn't go as in depth as I would like. I only got new information a couple of times. They mentioned that tableturf was getting multiplayer before I heard it anywhere else.
The point about Pikmin 2 rings in a unique way to me. 2 is my favorite in the series in good part because of the sheer enemy variety to contend with and figure out strategies for.
TotK has already shown a modest increase to that number and has me hopeful there'll be a lot more. TotK might outshine BotW for me because more enemies means more ways to use my brain and interact with the game world.
I've grown to accept that Sunshine isn't for everyone; while always disappointing to hear, I do not believe it is by any means controversial to dislike it.
Was just checking them the other day. I had no idea they ballooned in price so much! I would have bought a set of 4 instead of just 1 when they first came out!
I feel like this is why they didn't announce the release date at first. Nintendo really wanted it out in October for Halloween but Next Level Games wasn't sure they could get it out in time. The 31st release seems to line up with that hypothesis.
If the floors are comparable to the size of Secret Mine in Dark Moon, I think we'll have more than enough content on our hands.
Of course, the original Luigi's Mansion is so good that the length doesn't bother me too much, so if 3 is a little short for quality reasons I'm all onboard.
If there are guidelines, they should be followed. I understand, though, that complaining for new icons isn't always in good taste. The best case would be for Nintendo to strictly enforce those guidelines; we get our better icons as they should be, and no one has to make annoying complaints online.
The last several areas were a perfect difficulty for me. Ride the River was the first level I was fully engaged with the level gimmick; if the whole game had been like that, man...
@Baker1000 They changed a lot of G&W moves so the actual character looks like it did in the games where the move was used. That's an ugly sentence. Basically, in previous games G&W would just use the frying pan. In ultimate, G&W's sprite also changes to match the game the frying pan was from.
As much as I don't agree with the complaining about this, I think Nintendo made the right call here. The re-release of the game it came from doesn't have this, so Nintendo can still say it's from the same game, with 100% accuracy.
This is a very minor change, and while you can argue that it shouldn't change because of how small it is, I'd say I'd have problems with it if it was something bigger, say an entire costume that was an issue.
Well some good tips here; I just figured there'd be more tips on the actual gameplay, like "After everyone's played a round of regular Mario Party, consider Partner Party to shake things up a bit!"
I was seeing playthrough videos pop up and got pretty upset at these channels, considering reviewers could only show off certain parts of the game and whatnot. Gonna try and stay away from those channels.
I did a search of the game on Reddit to get some news and there the ROM was; like wut?!?
I'm starting to hear the downsides of the game.. Four boards and 20 turns max is disappointing, but understandable. If they're all standard it's fine; the gimmicky boards from the more recent games were not as fun, like Mario Party 6...there were only like two or three good ones. And most games are 20 turns anyway. We didn't need 50, but a 30 turn round would have been a nice option...
Upsetting that Nintendo didn't make this the Mario Party with those errors (2/3 might still be better), but I'm otherwise really hype! The Switch needed a Mario Party and it looks like one of the best (those mini-games look great)! It's just too bad it couldn't be the best.
Oh yeah and that partner dice block mechanic, is wow, a game changer! Oh and the slow dice block is in the game too. Lots of strategy in this one!
I'm not sure 2p and a boss rush will push me over. The game is pretty short as it is, I'd rather just play the GameCube version I already have. Maybe there will be some more cool features we just don't know about.
It's not even that I'd want a steady stream of SNES and N64 games either (although it would be nice). I'd just like some! Plans may change, but I don't plan to play these NES games at all!
Ok I didn't read all of these comments, but Cobalt has a point. It's not wrong to expect things from Nintendo. If you look at what just Nintendo brought to the table, it could be much better. Or you know, Mario Tennis Aces could feel a little more complete. Fun game. Very fun game. But could use just a tad more content, or ya know, the option to play more than one set (if the option is there please tell me).
I was never a fan of Ridley, and cared not for the characters who got dropped from the franchise (except Ice Climbers). I'm not saying Waluigi deserves to be in, but don't lump me and others in with the "meme-lords" and "internet harrassers". I've been wanting Waluigi or King K. Rool in Smash for years now. There were plenty of people who wanted Waluigi in before the Ridley announcement and didn't just jump on the bandwagon because "memes".
And who are you to say Waluigi doesn't deserve to be in Smash? Bayonetta deserves to be in Smash because she was Nintendo exclusive for one game? Corrin deserves to be in Smash because...Fire Emblem? Cloud deserves to be in Smash because...he's popular? Anyone can get in Smash if Sakurai wants to include them. Again, not saying Waluigi should be in, but saying "he doesn't deserve it" does not hold much weight at all.
It's one thing to dislike Waluigi. It's another to dislike people because they like Waluigi (or any character for that matter). That's low.
I would really like this to succeed. Chicken Wiggle looks like a game I'd enjoy, but I hardly play my 3DS anymore (rather play on the Switch's bigger screen).
I have enough points to buy one more game. I have no idea which to get. Should I grab light trax to finish out my art style collection, or go with some good game that hasn't seen release in years? Idk
RCT1 was a good start, RCT2 was amazing, but the rest really dropped the ball and weren't that great. I would be skeptical of any "new" RCT game they decide to make.
@ollietaro @Kobeskillz You misunderstand. The point I'm trying to make is the device has been out for 7 years, why are people just picking it up now? I know its a good option instead of a Switch. But I've had a 3DS since year one; where have all these people been until now? Didn't know Nintendo existed until the Switch came out? Ultra Sun/Moon pushed you over? Some price drop I haven't heard of?
The 3DS has some good value, but idk why people are buying it now...
EDIT: So apparently I need to clarify this by saying: I understand why people are buying a 3DS. What I don't understand is what happened in 2017 that made so many people pick it up? 2016 was just as good a year for the 3DS as 2017. It seems like the Switch just sold more people on the Nintendo branding, but since they didn't want a Switch they got a 3DS instead.

Re: Poll: So, How Would You Rate The Nintendo Switch 2 Direct?
All the brand new games look great. I feel like for a new console though, one more heavy hitter would have been optimal.
Re: Japanese Charts: Fans Go Bananas For Donkey Kong Country Returns HD
Don't forget this is the second best selling Donkey Kong Country; many people are gonna buy it for nostalgia, myself included.
Well actually I really just want a TV version of the game without motion controls; as lazy a remaster as it is, it fits the bill.
Re: Review: World Of Goo 2 (Switch) - A Superb Sequel With A Few Sticking Points
Dang, I was worried about the controls, and this review ain't helping that worry. Will it still feel like World of Goo with a mouse and keyboard? Idk
At least once I get past this dilemma, glad to know it's a worthy sequel!
