It's amazing how this game manages to constantly change your view of the game world and what you thought was your main goal. One of the few games that felt like a real adventure, and across 60 freakin' hours no less! I mean when I was 5 minutes into the game I thought it was going to be one thing, and then 30 minutes into the game I thought it was going to be another, and by 5 hours in I was like, I'm just going to enjoy the ride! To top it off, it had a unique combat system and hilarious voice acting (Now it's Reyn time!)!
It makes me sad that no one else I know off the internet has beaten the game, let alone just play it, as I really feel it's one of the most pinnacle examples of what gaming is about, at the very least RPGs.
Of course there are plenty of things in the game I don't like, but the game experience is unlike any other video game I've ever played.
Which makes me a little sad for X, because the preset characters is what really made me care so much about the game in the first place (that intro hooked me immediately). I couldn't imagine playing the original with Shulk. X will still be good, but it won't beat the original, that's for sure.
I don't get it. There have been more than enough good games this year. You have to review the poor ones poorly, really.
Geez, dealing with the internet must be rough sometimes; I haven't disagreed with a review this year, although maybe one or two that I thought deserved a 1+/-.
Of course, we'll see what happens with that Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon review comes out (har har, jokes people).
EDIT: Besides, I've been playing Splatoon all year anyway.
Smash is good but I've played too much of the series, and Pikmin 3 is good but I like Pikmin 2 way better.
So my top 3 is Donkey Kong Country TF, Splatton, and Super Mario Maker. SMM may end up lower on the list if the hype dies out, but for now it's up there.
@R-Moss I disagree. Yes it's repetitive and yes there are a lot of things it does a good way wrong, but it's a really neat idea and super fun if you come at it the right angle. I've had times where I sat down and thought it was super boring, but I've also had times where I had an amazingly good time too.
Just waiting for untold 2 to get to $30. I know it's gonna happen Atlus, and you dug your own hole with that one.
Makes me wonder if all their sales really help that much. Kinda a shame we fork out so much for AAA titles when you can grab EO for half that price or less, and for some times a much higher quality game.
Happy 10th! Despite a few articles irking me at times this is really one of the best internet communities I've ever been to and one of my personal favorite news outlets. It's been a blast to interact with everyone here!
Oh and let's not forget all the cool things NL does for us readers, like the Mario Maker system they have and the giveaways and the tournaments too! I'm sure I speak for most people when I say we really appreciate it!
@StarDust4Ever Oh no they're still up. I just don't want to re-upload them because it'll get rid of all the nice comments everyone gave and I don't want too many multiple versions of my level floating around...it has bad taste.
@Freeon-Leon Ha ha, well I look forward to playing it! Grinders + tracks make for some really interesting courses!
@Luffymcduck it definitely doesn't explain in game...it's weird that they don't.
Ruby and Sapphire was the first time I really got into Pokemon, as somehow I didn't care about it in Gen I and skipped Gen II entirely (always thought Slugma was a Gen III Pokemon lol), but the time sink was definitely Pearl.
@SirQuincealot Because bigger is not always better! A good number of my levels are near perfect (as far as I can see through my tinted glasses), so why would I need to change it too much?
Although after tinkering around a bit, I realize adding scaling power-ups and checkpoints instantly make any level easier, so maybe I'll just keep them the way they are.
@SanderEvers Well I forget because I don't use Instagram. I have a camera that actually takes better pictures than my phone so everything that I would upload is taken with my camera instead.
@kantaroo Yeah I only gave them equipment I thought looked ok, which meant some of them had the default equipment for quite some time. Also I took Sharla out of the party as soon as possible.
@KaoruxChan To be fair it is more Monolith Soft than the higher-ups at Nintendo (I don't see the EAD group pulling any of this, even ZSS in Smash wasn't too bad), but I always thought it was strange that people complain about the censorship over here when my problem is what they did over there in the first place, to cause NOA to consider censoring anything.
I didn't like the way NOA choose their levels; they were ok but not too post worthy; at least I feel like this community has some way better levels. Maybe this set is better but I'm not interested enough to try them.
If I had to bet money one way or the other I'd say it's coming, but that'd be a shame as I just played the game for the first time like a year ago, so I won't be getting it. Also not sure if I want to see those bird things in HD.
<3 the bit about Luigi on max difficultly and playing Mario Party in the dark. Sounds hilarious. I wanted to get MP10 but the party seemed just as much luck based as MP9, which was a disaster save for the neat mini-games.

Re: Feature: There and Back Again - A Xenoblade Tale
@TheRealThanos I'm getting it over here too; tried to delete my double post for like 5 minutes. It's definitely on Nintendolife's side.

Re: Review: Xenoblade Chronicles X (Wii U)
I'm not sure I'm ready to drop the time for this game... I guess it'll be like Xenoblade and sit there for a bit.
The story progression seems very different...
Re: Splatoon's Next Splatfest in North America is All About Junk Food
@LemonSlice Yeah I hear ya. I eat pizza all the time so I'd rather not call it junk food, ha ha, although I understand how it can be considered one.
Re: Splatoon's Next Splatfest in North America is All About Junk Food
Pizza? Junk food???
Re: Review: Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon (3DS)
Seems like the only bad thing about this game is it's tedious at times. I'm ok with that. And I expect it.
And too bad about the score, was hoping this would break the mold. Mystery Dungeon series will always be a hidden gem then.
Re: Nintendo of America Confirms Its Black Friday eShop Cyber Deals
Nice but, it's none of the games I was looking for.
Re: The Slosher Deco is Splashing Into Splatoon on 25th November
@Iggly Regardless, it's better than burst bombs, at least for me anyway. I can't seem to use that sub properly.

Re: Super Mario Maker Developers Discuss the Difficulties of Adding in Yoshi
Now I actually haven't used Yoshi yet, but how could you not add him? He's iconic to the series! I mean if kuribo got in Yoshi must as well.
@Uberchu But yoshi isn't available in the SMB theme...
Re: Review: Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash (Wii U)
Might be worth $20, but anything over that is way too high.
Re: Video: New Hollow Knight Trailer Shows Off Some Ferocious Foes
Looks incredibly charming
Re: Poor Odds of The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth Coming to Wii U as Nicalis Says It's "Not Much More Powerful Than a PS Vita"
Game series is ugly and disconcerting anyways. Don't know why anyone plays it (in a certain degree).

Well the fact that everyone has vastly different lists and opinions means...

Re: Feature: Reflecting On Three Years With The Wii U - Part One
Oh man, it's so easy to forget all the awesome times I've had with friends on Nintendo Land.
Console is a blast, I've played games on this thing I wouldn't have dreamed of. I really don't want to buy the NX. Really don't.
Of course if Pikmin 4 ends up on it I may have to, but that doesn't change my opinion on the matter.
@Dr_Corndog I too like the whole "buy one console everything else I can get on PC" mentality.

Re: Amazon Lists Pokémon Red, Yellow And Blue At 10 Bucks A Pop
Not surprised at all, the people who will buy this will pay just about anything for it.
Glad I'm not one of them.
...although the yellow version may tempt me for nostalgia, but not right now, anyway.
Re: You Can't Alter The Chest Size Of Female Characters In The Western Version Of Xenoblade Chronicles X
Oh wait! Hey so I watched the video and it's only that one character that's censored???????? (Regarding the outfit changes)
WAIT WHAT?
Re: You Can't Alter The Chest Size Of Female Characters In The Western Version Of Xenoblade Chronicles X
Imma go do something important now...
(addressing those commenting, not NL; thanks for the article)
Re: Final Fantasy's Cloud Is Set To Cause Some Strife In Super Smash Bros. On Wii U And 3DS
I personally am not too excited about this, but this is indeed very cool.
Re: Typoman For Wii U eShop Will Be Released In North America And Europe On 19th November
I'm interested, would like some more details though.
Re: Nintendo Badge Arcade is Out Now in North America
Huh. Well I'll give it a go. Won't drop any monies on it though, I have better things on my wish list.

It's a neat update, but I'm feeling really conflicted on whether I want to re-upload my levels...

Re: Zombies Will Face Off Against Ghosts in the Next European Splatfest
I like that blue color. Tired of all the green in NA splatfests.
Re: Preview: Hitting the Courts in Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash
Why would they repeat what they did with the 3DS version? ARGHHH probably not gonna buy it again. Thank goodness I still have the gamecube one.

Re: Yo-Kai Watch Will Be The Next Pokémon, Claims Viz Media
@Krisi I'm just not too interested in it, that's all. I guess the way Viz Media sounded arrogant made me want to sound a little arrogant too.

The problem is not Nintendo of America's decision it's Nintendo of Japan's decision.

I'm not buying it. No way.
Pokemon forever!
Re: Michael Pachter Thinks Miitomo Will Have Trouble Tempting People Away From Facebook
@OorWullie has a good point. Instagram is all the rage these days.
Re: Reaction: Nintendo's First Mobile App, Miitomo, Targets the Lucrative Depths of the Blue Ocean
A lot of people aren't getting it, whether it executes well or not is not the first problem.
Re: More Details Emerge on How Miitomo Will Work
If they execute it correctly, that'll be...really neat, actually.
Re: Rumour: More Evidence Mounts of Twilight Princess HD
If I had to bet money one way or the other I'd say it's coming, but that'd be a shame as I just played the game for the first time like a year ago, so I won't be getting it. Also not sure if I want to see those bird things in HD.
Re: Miitomo, Nintendo's First Smartphone Game, Is Delayed Until March 2016
"Nintendo's four other smartphone games will be pay-to-download, according to Kimishima"
This is my best bit of info atm.
Re: Vital Wii U and 3DS Releases Join the Million-Seller Club
@SuperWiiU Do you not own a 3DS? I would recommend at least Luigi's Mansion.
Re: Zelda Fans Vent Anger At Nintendo of America Over Doge Memes In Tri Force Heroes
Oh no I said a doge meme while speaking to people, now they all want me dead!
I can get them not wanting to keep up this trend, but, it's supposed to be a silly game in the first place, right?
Re: Super Mario Maker Gets Mid-Level Checkpoints and More in Upcoming Update
SCALING POWERUPS YESSSSSSSS!
Re: Video: Watch This Amazing Nintendo 64 HDMI Mod Banish Smeary Visuals Forever
@TheRealThanos I guess since I don't have my N64 anymore I don't know what it would normally look like. Seems about the same to me.
Re: Talking Point: As Rumours Come and Go the Desperation for a Nintendo Direct Grows
I have a lot of things on plate so it isn't too bad, =but it really is quite a dry spell.
Time to break out the happy snacks and play some good ol' Gamecube games.
Re: Video: Watch This Amazing Nintendo 64 HDMI Mod Banish Smeary Visuals Forever
I'll be honest I don't get it. I mean, I see some benefits but it doesn't look like something to get hyped for.
