As the world outside starts to get slightly chillier with every day that passes, team Nintendo Life has more reason than ever to remain safely indoors with our favourite games. Once again, we've shared our plans for the weekend - from co-op adventures to fantasy RPGs - and would love for you to join in via our poll and comments sections below. Enjoy!

I’ve got friends coming over on Saturday and I’m busting to crack out the new Surf ‘n’ Turf DLC for Overcooked 2. Assuming we’re still friends afterwards, we'll also disarm some bombs in Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes.
Sunday I’ll be trekking the countryside in a last-ditch attempt to hatch a Tauros, Farfetch’d or Kangaskhan from a 7km egg in Pokémon Go. No dice so far, and the event ends on Monday.
I was also lucky enough to take delivery of a lovely new TV recently. Although it’s got 2160 Ps and OLEDs (and is even rumoured to make a passable bacon sandwich), I was afraid the ol’ Switch might look a bit dog-eared blown up to 55 inches. However, I squeezed in 5 minutes with Breath of the Wild and – boy-oh-boy – it looks goooood. So, I’ll be cycling through things like Super Mario Odyssey and Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap to see how they hold up on a 4K screen.

I recently bought a third-party wired pro controller to use with my Nintendo Switch. It’s made by PDP and is rather impressive considering the price I paid for it. As a result of my recent purchase, this weekend I’ll be training hard in Dragon Ball FighterZ; a fighting game seems like the perfect title to test out a new controller's limitations. When I’m not sparring in DBFZ, I’ll probably be putting my platform skills to the test in Mega Man 11 and playing some Rocket League and Splatoon 2 on the side.

My free time for gaming this weekend looks like it might be pretty limited, but I do have some things lined up for the moment I'm free. After recently beating every level and collecting every star in Overcooked 2, my partner and I will be jumping right into the newly-released Surf 'n' Turf DLC to get back into those horrible - but also lovely - kitchens. I've been hearing that the new fourth-star addition is really tough, too, so we'll no doubt end up getting annoyed with life in the best possible way while trying to complete those.
I also decided to finally go ahead and buy a copy of Death Squared. I haven't started it up yet, but the co-op puzzle level design looks like it'll be the perfect thing for winding down each evening and I can't wait to get stuck in.

I've recently got hopelessly addicted to Guild Wars 2 again so I've neglected my Switch a bit, but I'm still slowly working my way through Xenoblade Chronicles 2. It's kind of shameful to admit, but I spend most of my time playing it wishing I was playing Baten Kaitos instead. There are some subtle similarities in the world design that just get me reminiscing. Though I doubt it ever actually will happen, I really do hope that Monolith returns to that franchise some day. I wouldn't complain if they worked on a Xenoblade Chronicles 3 or remaster of the previous two entries, but I just can't escape the feeling that it pales in comparison to Baten Kaitos. The franchise was just so unique – card-based battling system, an incredibly varied world, and the fact you were actually a character in the game. Xenoblade just kind of feels generic in comparison, though perhaps I'm being harsh.
Between those two massive games, I'm also ducking into Paladins when I get the chance. Still can't get enough of it, and I really appreciate that the new event isn't a separate game mode entirely like Dragon's Call was. I just wasn't a fan of that mode at all so the entire event passed me by. Ah well.

Having spent the last week exhaustively playing Assassin's Creed Odyssey, I'm in need of a gaming palette cleanser. Recently I've really been getting into the Disgaea series and Disgaea 5 Complete on Switch is proving to be an all-too-easy time sink for this hard-working dood. I'll also be playing more Splatoon 2 with my eldest. By that I, of course, mean watching him play that game considerably better than I ever could. Couldn't be more proud.

Having been out of the gaming weekend loop for a few weeks – sunning it up in Gran Canaria and trawling through the Nintendo delights at EGX, which has taken its toll – this weekend I can finally put my feet up and play some of my own games. Putting it to Twitter, and asking my followers what new indie game I should play, it was Hollow Knight that won the majority of votes. With only being a measly 2 hours in, I think it’s time to sit down and have a solid few hours exploring the wonders that lie beneath Dirtmouth. I’m loving it so far – even though it’s a tad on the difficult side – and I can’t wait to get stuck in again. Splatoon 2 is also on the cards as it really is the gift that keeps on giving, especially as my appetite for the game is continuing to grumble given the new(ish) announcement of the Spirit Bomb… err, I mean, ‘Booyah Bomb’, which is already creating colourful chaos in every battle.
Oh, and there's no party like a Super Mario Party! Watching my delivery tracking status like a hungry hawk and cheering it on until it got posted through my letterbox, a few members of my overly-competitive family and friends are bundling together to test out what the game has to offer tonight. If it's anything like what it seems in the rave reviews its receiving, it's going to be a party well worth going to.

Here’s what I’m not playing this weekend: Super Mario Party.
I am not going to invite over loved ones - better spoken: “Yoshi imposters” - to argue over why I am the one, true Yoshi. I will not need to exhale the weight of the world after I roll a stupid “2” and end up going last - like always. This weekend I am not going to have inconsequential turns after everyone else has already scooted so, so far up the board, miles away from my pointless Koopa body. I’m just not doing that.
Not that it needs to be said, but I’m not playing Super Mario Party this weekend because I won’t destroy my “pals” at a game of skill, as I always have, as I always will, just to watch some big, worthless smile on their faces when they land on the “Take Everything Away From Alan” space. Why do they even have a “Take Everything Away From Alan” space?
And also, five stars for pressing “R” the most? And this girl over here, 500 coins for landing on the most red spaces? The very thing you’re supposed to avoid? Can we not, Bowser? I will not be playing Super Mario Party this weekend.
[Are you okay, Alan? We worry about you... --Ed.]

I'm planning on spending the weekend doing pretty much what I have been doing every other day of the week when free time allows it: becoming the ultimate warrior in Dragon Ball FighterZ, following the heroic exploits of Squad E in Valkyria Chronicles 4 (a game that just keeps on delivering!) and slowly but surely raising community level (it is not as boring as it sounds) in Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna ~ The Golden Country.
Hopefully I can gather a few of my least favourite friends this weekend so we can end our friendships over the latest Super Mario Party iteration. Make no mistake though, the coveted ‘Shiryu Game of the Week Award’ (yes, its a thing from now on) goes to none other than the utterly excellent Jettomero: Hero of the Universe. Go grab that bad boy off the eShop right now because, as usual, mankind needs saving.

Nothing for me on Switch at the moment so I'm playing Spiderman on PS4, such a great game
Ermmm yeah, I'd have to agree with Carlos, I'm playing Spiderman too. Might sneak in a bit of Thumper on Switch, but Spiderman is very, very good.
People still play Odyssey??? Lol ... Super Mario Party for me mainly but I'm not playing much as I'm off to New York city and going to Ninty store
Just spent some proper time with Stardew Valley the past couple of days and I'm hooked, love it. I kind of knew I would like it as I enjoyed Harvest Moon on the SNES but I've never managed to get into Animal Crossing for some reason. Perhaps the new one will change that.
Getting near the end of Paper Mario Colour Splash now, what a brilliant game. Once it's finished I will be continuing my Pikmin 3 save!
Xenoblade Chronicles 2 tarna
After completing Yoku's Island Express, started Hollow Knight just the other day. Plus, some Picross S2 and Super Mario Party.
Undertale on the Switch and Hob on PS4.
Believe it or not: Shovel Knight. Clearing some of the Feats.
Monsters hunter GU
Finished stick of truth last week which was ok.
Will be doing a few runs on Dead Cells but I’m horribly stuck on the Clock Tower.
I’ve started playing A Link To The Past (emulated) I’ve never played it through before so looking forward to getting properly stuck in and actually completing it.
KEN Fist of the North Star Lost Paradise and Valkyria 4...
I'm gonna try the beginning of Shadow of the Tomb Raider too... ^^
What a week end
This week I will be mostly playing:
Captain Toad (Wii U)
Kirby: Mouse Attack
Well, I took a couple of weeks break from Splatoon 2 & my skills have all evaporated, so I'm practicing my rearend off... between catching Mewtwos on Pokémon Go.
The amazing Assassin's Creed Odyssey on PS4. Just got Cat Quest on Switch and continuing to die in Dead Cells. Spider-man and Tomb Raider can wait for a bit.
Labyrinth of Refrain: Coven of Dusk. Sooooo Goooood!!
Finished Spider-Man. Oh man this is one of the best action games I have ever played!
Today I am starting Bloodborne since I have never played it!
oh that marina
playing ys viii. actually pretty awesome, better than i thought it would be.
Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition HD.
I actually prefer this version...seems to cut much of the slow parts. Still, it doesn’t hold up to a classic in the series (4-9).
I've been enjoying me some classic Mega Man action with Mega Man 11. I've always been more of an X/Zero/ZX guy, but I do still enjoy going through the classic series from time to time and the Double Gear system in 11 does help in making the game feel less simplistic and restrictive in terms of gameplay options by comparison.
Another point that stood out to me was how well-balanced the difficulty in this installment is, as it manages to replicate that satisfying sense of accomplishment you get from beating a stage from past entries without ever making the common misstep of simply resorting to cheap-shots and traps that end up being unavoidable for first-time players.
Finished Rise and Shine...great game but fairly short.
Will play some Splatoon 2, Odyssey, Super Mario Party and Fifa 19.
Playing the new Dark Tides event in Paladins trying to collect those Gold Doubloons. Playing some Arena of Valor to unlock some more characters for my roster. And some Fortnite for week 2 challenges. Hoping to squeeze in some Megaman 11 if I have time.
Will continue my arduous trek through the mammothly marvellous Monster Hunter GU, interspersed with some terrible attempts at Enter The Gungeon (I'm woeful at the game, but do love it!) and will definitely find time for a few more runs on Lumines Remastered... so many great games... so little time!
Super Mario party and some random indies....likely some dead cells and the binding of Isaac.
Playing some splatoon to max out my gear for the splatfest, then completing weekly challenges on fortnite, might play some smash4 as well
Nothing because my switch just bricked last night. 😕😕
I'll be playing mario+rabbids Kingdom battle Donkey kong adventure
If I get a chance splatoon 2
Boooyah
Still playing Okami, the game is much bigger than I expected! I love the game, the story is pretty decent and the characters are very memorable
Replacing the drive belt on my riding mower, then finishing up from yesterday. After that I’ll be sinking back into Twilight Princess. I’ll probably do some Crazy Orders in Smash 4, as well. Oh, and Fortnite.
Some NeoGeo with friends.
I finally beat Monster Hunter Stories after playing it for 135 hours so won’t be playing that this weekend. Instead I’ll be enjoying some Tomodachi Life and Super Mario Party. Going to be a chill weekend here.
Something on my 2DS XL. Just not sure what I will be playing. Maybe some Pocket Camp on my iPad and a little Pokémon Go when I’m out getting groceries this morning
@Spoony_Tech
How? 3rd party accessory or just like that? Bummer
DBZ all the way. My son loves this game even though we both know zip about DB. Also might get back into Shovel Knight since I never finished it.
My copy of Fire Emblem Awakening finally arrived (it's been a long time coming - took me a while to find a copy under €50), so I'll be playing that rigorously. Other than that, I'll be trying to finish off Super Metroid.
Playing through Pikmin 3 and Devils Third at the moment as well as Sonic Mania Plus.
More Ocarina of Time 3D (Master Quest) and Paper Mario: Color Splash in this corner.
...I might even throw in some WarioWare Inc.: Mega Microgames! on the Wii U VC as well.
I won’t be playing much because I’m going to my first ever ComicCon to meet Charles Martinet! I’m so excited!!
On the way there, I may slip in some Minit, more Undertale, ARMS, etc. Maybe I’ll try and clear out some of my backlog...
If there’s time when I get home, I’ll play either Ultimate Chicken Horse or Super Mario Party with my family.
Everyone have an amazing, God-blessed, and safe weekend!! 😃
Suprised we haven't seen that guy post pictures of what games he's playing this weekend yet. But....i for one just finished undertale. That was my first turn based rpg ( if that's what undertale even is) and it was good. Not as good as i thought it would be based on everything I've heard. But it was probabaly a good entry level game into the genre for me. Now I've full fledged jumped into alwas awakening. Hopefully ill have it beaten by tomorrow or Monday. And lastly I'll toss in some LoZ from NSO.. only two levels left on it!
Still going strong through NG+ on XC2... Lots to do still
Omega ruby and hyrule warriors. Also a little bit of jack n Jill dx(hidden gem)
I’m working all weekend so I’ll mainly be playing with urinary catheters and IV lines
FFXV pocket edition, don't shoot me. I loved the main game and just had to play this weird chibi version.
Once I started I couldn't stop. It is gladly getting me hyped for World of Final fantasy maxima next month.
Although there is so much JRPG goodness I am already backlogged on the switch.
I got my physical edition of Night Trap in the mail so I’ll be playing that. Everyone talked about it as a horrible game but I’ve been having a lot of fun with it.
In between crying about Netflix I'll most likely be playing Final Fight and Splatoon 2.
I’m going for 100% on Captain Toad. I finished absolutely everything in the main three chapters and now I just need to do the bonus book. It really is quite a lovely and charming little game.
Spiderman, Forza Horizon 4, and some Area of Valor.
I agree with @Shiryu if you haven't played Jettomero Hero of the Universe, you really are missing out of a unique experience. If you like comic books or old school sci find stories, you'll love this game.
Overcooked 2 surf n turf DLC and Super Mario Party for my girl and I this weekend. On my own time I'll be switching between The messenger, Hollow knight, and Mega Man 11. Mabey even get some more practice in DB fighterZ, I need it 😂.
Mega Man 11 and probably some last bits of cleanup in Spiderman. Also Ghost Recon Wildlands.
Nintendo LABO Toy Cons 01 Variety Kits
I have bought it just now.
Now, my Saturday night will be spent for assemble the cardboards & play them once finished.
Oh, this is Me and my LABO.
Some Overcooked (1, not 2) for me and my tiny gaming partner, and maybe some ARMS as well.
In solo mode, I'd like to get back to Breath of the Wild as I just bought the fancy strategy guide. Not sure I'm actually going to have time, since I'm still unpacking and sorting out our new house.
Played through Megaman 11 on casual over the week, I'll attempt a run on normal next week or the week after, but this weekend I'm getting into Super Mario Party with the wife and finishing up some skirmish battles in Valkyria Chronicles IV. Hoping to unlock the 'true' ending soon.
Fortnite and Undertale. I hope to get around to finishing Moss on PSVR as well
I’m playing Wandersong! It’s really good!
@Rogueleader76 and Kaiju battles too!
I got a lot of stuff to do but in between I'm going to try and squeeze in as much Dragon Quest XI as I can. Also Dragon Ball Fusions on 3DS for my lunch break because I work full shifts on Saturdays.
Final Fantasy XV. It looks really good!!
@Tingle_The_Great
Me too!! It’s so charming. Reckon I won’t be able to play a different game on my switch till I finish it.
Play a little animal crossing new leaf and Kingdom Hearts 1 this weekend as well.
Game time is very limited at the moment, so I'm sticking to games that I can enjoy in short bursts:
Into the Breach
Capcom Beat 'Em Up Bundle
Raging Justice
One Strike
@Spoony_Tech Nightmare! Not turning on?
@Medic_alert @OorWullie @Vriess 3rd party dock I used sparingly. I never left it on the dock to charge and strictly used it only to play. That apparently only goes so far. I did sign up for the online so most of my saves will be there but I found a place that does repairs and I might not lose my Splatoon 2 save data as well. My fault as I was warned but since it seemed to be fine the way I was playing it I just kept doing it. From the sound of it I could have my Switch back in about a week. What sucks is my son and I are away for the weekend so now we have nothing to play on.
Update: I put it in the dock to see if I could get it working and it actually turned on. I tried everything to get it working but it's now on and charged to 3%
Playing through Super Mario RPG on the SNES Classic for the first time in anticipation of a certain character making it into Smash Ultimate What a lovely RPG, I'm having a blast.
When I'm in the mood for something a little more intense I'll continue with Octopath Traveler and see if I can finish up a few more Chapter 4's. This game, of course, is similarly excellent to Mario RPG...just a bit more difficult!
So much I want to play, but Dead Cells is just too awesome and addictive.
A bit of Dragon Ball FighterZ too I’m sure, to keep chipping away at the story mode.
Stick of truth, dead cells, and a little bit of Mario kart deluxe
It's been a mix of Sleeping Dogs Definitive Edition, Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate, and Skyrim.
Sleeping Dogs is really fun, guys. Better than GTA V imo.
Since it's October, it's my tradition to start playing some horror-themed games.
Just started Creeping Terror and Dementium Remastered (both on 3ds). I'm enjoying them quite a bit!
Same thing I've been playing for the last couple weeks. Splatoon 2, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, Animal Crossing: New Leaf.
Capcom Beat em Up Collection, SNK Heroines, Super Mario Odyssey and Mario Kart 8 for Switch.
Android:
Microsoft Solitaire Collection - Mostly playing Klondike
Minecraft - Playing while at the inlaws for Thanksgiving this weekend
Windows Phone:
Angry Birds Seasons - Playing Halloween levels
Nintendo NES:
Yoshi - My daughter loves playing multiplayer on this, so more of that this weekend.
Undertale for Switch as well as Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage on the PS3.
NieR: Automata on PS4, with little bits of Valkyria Chronicles 4 on Switch here and there.
I'm satisfied.
DOOM single player and if I finish it I'll go back to my Bayonetta file. Given there's a decent chance of DOOM Eternal and Bayonetta 3 appearing at The Game Awards, I don't want to be greeted by DOOM and Bayonetta 1+2 spoilers just for wanting to watch the full show.
Super Mario Party is way too fun! I just want to keep playing!
Octopath Traveler and FINALLY MHGU. A little NES co-op action with a pal, and callin' it a weekend.
Octopath( currently 45+ hours in ), some Rocket League and I'll try to Finish L.A Noire. Yeh, i know, old game, but I'll have to finish it at some point!
Alwa's Awakening (love those tunes!) and probably a bit of Okami HD and/or Yakuza Zero.
well, their limited list aside...
100% chance:
Skyrim
Octopath Traveler
Axiom Verge
25% chance:
L.A. Noire
Mario + Rabbids
Mostly Mega Man 11 with a side of Super Mario Party. I also want to finish off the Spider-Man platinum trophy.
On top of Valkyria Chronicles 4, I’m sinking a lot of time into Dragalia Lost...
Mega a Man 11 and Ocarina of Time. Keeping it old school lol
Mario and rabbids, I do need to use the extra health option at the start of each battle. Astro bot rescue.
Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze
Fire Emblem Warriors and Immortal Redneck.
Finished and platinumed Spiderman so most of my gaming time will be swallowed up by the fantastic Dragon Quest XI.
I'll also be playing some Xenoblade Chronicles 2 on the Switch and Etrian Odyssey on the 3ds.
And I am sooo tempted by Astrobot on the PSVR but I promised myself no more new games till after Christmas..
are you treatening me with Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes? Huh? I can do whatever I want! I'm not an idiot! It's my life!
I'm playing FortNite Splatoon 2! I finally put together my Digimon gear in Splatoon 2 and I'm being fingered at! For Christmas I'm getting the Hori Pokemon bag for my Switch a bluetooth headset and Ark Survival Evolved for the Switch! I'm getting Ark because there's no Digimon on Switch but when I tried out Ark on my phone it felt like I got taken to the Digital World. This is the game I've been looking for and I'm going to play it on the Switch!
@DigiF4N I don't want to play on Xbox and I don't want to play on PlayStation! I just want to play on my Switch!
@DigiF4N Yes Pearl and Marina! Ark exists on Switch! It come out on Nov 30!
@DigiF4N and my favorite stage in Splatoon 2 is Wahoo World!
Nothing.
Because Nintendo Switch Online continues to be an abysmal disaster Nintendo refuses to fix.
RE Revelations 2 for me. I'll probably toss in some Dragon Ball FighterZ and Splatoon 2
@IceClimbers how is revelations two thus far? I Have the download code but haven't downloaded it yet
After finishing up Torna, I've gone back to Xenoblade Chronicles X in a major way. I beat the main story back in the spring, but there's still so much left to do. At the very least, I want to wrap up all the normal missions and max out affinity with every party member. Beyond that, I'm not quite sure how much more I'll play--it seems like a game that would be a massive undertaking to 100%, and seeing the amount of grinding that goes into getting the best gear is intimidating.
@bolt05 that's good to hear. Love a good DRPG.
MH World and MGS V :3 and MHGU
The Doughlings Arcade, Old School Musical, Mega Man 11, and Super Mario Party 🎉
@Medic_alert I just finished restringing my guitar after adjusting my gears and brakes on my Racer after looking for deals on origins PS4 then I read your post HA HA
I am playing Bad North myself! Love it to bits, but when I get bored I might play the Crash trilogy soon! Getting it for 21 bucks physical is a steal!
I'll keep chipping away at Wasteland 2, which continues to an excellent game marred by countless technical issues. I'm currently in California, and I just need to find one more bag of cat litter so I can build a radiation suit that will allow me to keep exploring (it's a long story).
Bravely Default.
I just bought Runbow last week. It's really fun. My kids and I have been having a ball
Super Mario Party it is. I had a quick game yesterday (10 rounds), after all the negative comments i was a bit worried but i have to say its quite fun. I am also 100percent sure nintendo will release additional boards. Can not say anything about online playing yet.
Microsoft Solitaire on iOS. Orwell: Keeping an Eye On You was free on Steam so have been playing it. Xenoblade Chronicles X, working on my Skell license on second playthrough. Been enjoying The LEGO Movie Videogame too after finding it cheap.
Last weekend I busted through Batman Arkham Asylum and Arkham City on XBOX; so next is Arkham Knight. Then I'll work through Red Dead Redemption in preparation for Starlink and RDR2 in the next couple of weeks.
On the Switch I have Lone Wolf as my unwind to go to sleep game.
Playing Binding of Issac and Arena of Valor. Issac is quickly becoming one of my favorites.
@Fake-E-Lee demon crystal looked pretty interesting to me as well. Can’t have enough twin stick shooters.
Another list with no fortnite. Y’all must not know what the biggest game in the world is right now.
@Sac_instead Yeah, not really interested in that. I just got Mario Party, but to be honest, it didn't make a great first impression. Fortunately, I also got Penguin Wars a few days ago. It's simple and stupid, but it is amazingly fun anyway.
Settlers of Catan and Sushi Go. Computer wise Pocket Football Club 3ds
@Spoony_Tech
Which 3rd party dock did you use? Last year I bought a so called Qumox HDMI Type C Hub Adapter. It's a small dongle. It works but ever since the Nyko portable dock debacle I'm a bit afraid to use it. I rarely do, but maybe I shouldn't anymore.
Super Mario Party and some more Stardew Valley. Finishing up the Spring of Year 3.
@Vriess I use the one made by Best Buy think it's called insignia. It still rates rather high on their site so maybe my system was just acting weird.
Its canadian thanksgiving, so still the weekend! I'm playing Sonic Mania+, its so good!
I played World of Warcraft, Splatoon 2 and Pokémon Go this weekend.
Shin Megami Tensei IV
de Blob
Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+
Kemono Friends Picross
100%:
Metroid Samus Returns (3DS)
DOOM (NS)
Mario + Rabbids (NS)
25%:
Castlevania 2: Simon's Quest (NES)
Blaster Master (NS-DLC)
Battle of Olympus (NES)
The Guardian Legend (NES)
