Re: UK Pricing For Nintendo Labo Is Confirmed

Marshi

Am I the only one who thinks the prices are great? Remember, all other toys to life games, like Lego Dimensions or Skylanders all started at around £90-£100.
If you think its overpriced because its just cardboard, I feel sorry for your lack of vision and general stupidity. The actual designs and the working parts inside once made, is more than worth the price of entry.

It will get my son into creation and basic engineering. And considering he wants to make games when he's older this will really help. Totally worth the price in my opinion.

Re: Bayonetta 2 On Switch Will Come With These Changes

Marshi

I'm more concerned with the technical changes. Bayo 1+2 on Wii U had frame drops and sub HD resolution.
I would hope the Switch ports at least run at 900p at a rock solid 60fps. Regardless I'll be picking this up due to the now annoying phrase of "I can now play it portable!".

Re: Video: L.A. Noire for Nintendo Switch Gets a Smart New Trailer

Marshi

@rewindxrepeat Its all going to depend on the sales of LA Noire. In short, if you want GTAV on Switvh, you better buy LA Noire. Otherwise Rockstar will just say the usual "oh well third party doesnt sell on Nintendo consoles so we arent supporting the Switch any more".
Same goes for Doom, Skyrim and Wolfenstein, If we want go see Fallout 4 on Switch.

Re: First Impressions: Hell in a Handbasket - DOOM on Nintendo Switch

Marshi

A solid smooth 30fps with motion blur and effects in place will still look and feel fantastic. Destiny is a supremely fast paced shooter at times and it feels amazing in 30fps, so while it will look noticeable to people who have already bought this game for ps4/pc, to everyone else, if all the effects and motion blur is present, the game will look mindblowing on Switch.

Re: Poll: What Did You Think of the Nintendo Direct?

Marshi

Doom, Wolfenstein and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 coming December 1st is proof to me that this is New Nintendo. Not the lacklustre and the "please understand" of the Wii U era. Things are definitely looking up.
Id even go so far as to say this could possibly be the best Launch year a Console has EVER had. Look at this: Fast RMX, ARM's, Splatoon 2, Mario Kart 8 DX, Pokken Tournement DX, Ultra Street Fighter 2, Mario+Rabbids, Rayman Legends definitive edition, Doom, Mario Odyssey, Fire Emblem Warriors, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and of course, Zelda Breath of The Wild...Have you ever seen a more full and well rounded first year in any other console? No, me either.
The direct was a brilliant indicator that Nintendo is well and truly back in business.

Re: Playtonic Gives Update On Yooka-Laylee For Switch

Marshi

I did exactly what the article says. I wont purchase a game like Yooka Laylee for anything other than the switch. Hoping the big console patch is worked into the Switch version though. If thats the case it will be a day one Physical buy for me.

Re: Platinum Games Teases The Wonderful 101 for Switch

Marshi

I really think it woukd be stupid for Platinum not to release both Bayonetta 1+2 and Wonderful 101 for Switch.
The switch is already much more popular than Wii U with, I reckon, more than a few owners of Switch never owning a Wii U. The bayonetta and Wonderful 101 games did not sell massively well on Wii U and I think ports would boost sales.
Its a real no brainer and id honestly be happy with a simpke improvement to resolution and framerate.

Re: Nintendo Aims to Keep Switch Hot With 'Drumbeat' of Games and Strength of Concept

Marshi

As long as we do keep getting a steady stream of great AAA content once a month (with the occasional twice monthy during holidays or Christmas time) with the added joy of fantastic indie support, then I think the Switch is going to hace a very strong life ahead of it,
The Wii was amazing but was marred by an over abumdance if casual games.
The Switch seems to be seeing the popularity the Wii had but also have a bolstering of core gameplay experiences. Already we have Breath of the Wild, Ultra Street fighter 2, Mario kart 8 dx, Disgaea 5 Complete and The Binding Of Isaac Afterbirth Plus to cater to all kinds of core gamers.
So again, if this momentum can keep up, we as Nintendo fans are going to be very very happy gamers.

Re: Reggie "Can't Say" If A Cloud Save Solution Is Coming To Switch

Marshi

Saying he "cant say" suggests to me that Nintendo kniw about the issue and are working through some logistics. Id bet money on the paid online service providing cloud saves becauee thats exactly what playstion does. Yes ps4 does offer cloud saves but ONLY to people who have playstation plus.

Re: Poll: Are You Excited About Nintendo at E3 2017?

Marshi

A lot can be said and announced in 30 minutes. What worries me is that bit about only 2017 games being shown. And with Arms, Splatoon 2, xenoblade 2, pokken dx and Mario Odyssey already coming this year, that leaves little new to be announced. Im fairly certain the Switch has some incredible games being made for it right now, like a new Metroid, new Pikmin, Retros new game, probably a new ip of some sort. BUT all of these are unlikely 2017 games.
So if anyone is expecting lots of surprises they are in for a disapointing E3.

Re: Press Release Suggests E3 Nintendo Spotlight Will be About 30 Minutes

Marshi

Depends on what that 30 minutes entails. If its 5minutes of games with 25 minutes of silly sketches, interviews in wool shops (yes I remember) and admittedly funny claymation then Nintendo will begin going the way of Wii U very very fast. And after the non event that was todays Pokemon direct they cant afford to be going back to old habits.

Re: FIFA 18 Gets Reveal Trailer That Suggests Missing Features for Nintendo Switch

Marshi

Any graphical downgrade is to be expected. Theres just no way the Nintendo Switch can reproduced the graphics shown in the trailer, like real time sweat and clothing physics. However that is where the limitations should end. If there are any FEATURES that are missing, any game mode in every version but the switch, that is whats unforgivable here.

Re: Nintendo Confirms Its Plans for E3 2017, Including Playable 'Sandbox-Style' Super Mario Odyssey

Marshi

@aaronsullivan Well, yeah. It doesn't specifically say no games of 2018 and beyond will be shown. Just 2017 games will be a priority of the prrsentation.
What im getting at though is I want companies to only announce games when they are pretty much almost ready. Of course I want Nintendo themselves to have a deep and long term plan for the switch, but im certain they do so i figured that goes without saying...
Im just sick of games like final fantasy or zelda being announced and then waiting upwards of three or more years before we actuallyget to play it! It was wonderful when, two years ago, fallout 4 was announced with a release date of just four months away. Whycant more companies do that? Sure announce that a game is "in development" but leave it at that until near finished code is ready tobe shown. Dont give us three years of trailers!

Re: Nintendo Confirms Its Plans for E3 2017, Including Playable 'Sandbox-Style' Super Mario Odyssey

Marshi

@Grumblevolcano No 2018 games is excellent. There is simply no way that there are no games coming to Switch in 2018 due to its popularity, and I really hate the current trend of announcing a game two, three or sometimes several years in advance of its release. Nintendo should just concentrate on making this first year for switch a truky stellar one. Then worry about next year after that.

Re: Poll: Do You Think Call Of Duty: WWII Will Come To Switch, And Would You Want It If It Did?

Marshi

Call of duty on WW2 on Switch would be a massive win for Nintendo as it would likely sell a fair few Switchs, but personally I am done with the franchise. I haven't bought a COD game since Modern Warfare 2, they all just seem so samey despite the different locations (WW2, Veatnam, Modern, Future, Sci Fi) and unless WW2 brings something highly fresh to the table I cant see myself getting interested. And I think the problem is a lot of Nintendo fans feel the same way.

Re: Square Enix Veteran and Chrono Trigger Director Teases Nintendo Switch Project

Marshi

Not sure if Final Fantasy's vii viii and ix can be ported across to Switch because of Sony. But despite me purchasing these three games about 4 times each over their life time I would violently smash that purchase button the second they appear on e shop, if that was to happen.
Also, a Chrono Trigger remake (I am Setsuna style?) would be hugely exciting.
Basically anything Square enix would be willing to bring over has me very much throwing money at my screen.

Re: Poll: What Wii U Ports Would You Like to Play on Nintendo Switch?

Marshi

@Yasume While i see where you are coming from there is nothing stopping Nintendo from churning out ports AND exclusives. PS4 is killing it at the moment but for its first two to three years all it had were remasters of games like The Last of Us and some mediocre exclusives like Knack and Killzone Shadowfall. People flocked to the system for the former because some never had a ps3.
Now look at how poor the Wii U did sales wise. You can bet your bottom dollar a majority of gamers will have never played any Wii U exclusive.
In other words its a no brainer. Ports and remasters can be chucked out while we wait for the exclusives. Thats a win win in my book.
