Re: Nintendo Announces The GameCube Controller Adapter for Wii U

Marshi

@Kirk Now now lets not get testy. I being perfectly civilised so far.
Okay 1: you want to play streetfighter on wiiu? Use the gamepad
2: dont want to use a gc controller for smash? Use a gamepad
3: dont like wiimote control for pikmin 3? Use a gamepad
4: hate motion control for mario kart? Use a gamepad
5: dont want to buy a pro controller for most wii u games? Fine. USE A GAMEPAD!
In case your unsure, you get a gamepad with every wiiu.

Re: Pikmin 3 Update Adds New Stylus Control Style

Marshi

Nintendolands best game was pikmin and pikmin 3 is one of my fave games of 2013. Though I really wanted nintendolands control method. Now I do and it works brilliantly. My only gripe is the lack of analogue control for the kopaites. Analogue control is present if you use wiimote and nunchuck. Why not the gamepad? Minor gripe aside though. I think this is a good excuse to play through the wiiu's most beautiful all over again!

Re: Nintendo Announces The GameCube Controller Adapter for Wii U

Marshi

@Kirk Theres 1 glaring thing that YOU are missing my friend. Both sony and microsoft DO have multiple controller options. The only difference between them and nintendo is that nintendo's paripheral's (sp) are popular.
So with sony you have: ps eye, ps move, ps navigation controller and a whole range of fighting sticks and steering wheels for fighting and racing games.
M$: Kinect, xbox 360 pad wired, xbox 360 pad wireless, xbox 360 pad with a dpad that isnt awful and the above range of sticks and wheels. And yes, ofcourse the different 360 pads count because just like nintendo they are an OPTIONAL extra.
So as you can see,all game companies will have multiple controller options if there is demand for it. And trust me dude, demand for a gc controller is high, even if it turns out only to be for smash

Re: Nintendo Announces The GameCube Controller Adapter for Wii U

Marshi

Ah nintendo, never has one company filled me with so much excitement yet so much frustration in equal measure!
Okay so the bad news: This could be ONLY for smash bros. This would be both stupid, and a waste, not to mention expensive. But I wouldnt put it past old ninty to do exactly that.
But the good news: This could mean nintendo are iminent in their announcement of gc vc! Or the gc hd range. Or gc pad compatability with future games like project cars (analogue acceleration!).
To pull this off nintendo need to say at e3 exactly what this thing is to stop any potential frustration or (please please please!) start building the hype for all the awesome things the best joypad in the world is going to bring to wiiu

Re: Miiverse Tells the Tale of a Broken Mario Kart 8 Street Date

Marshi

@bouncer0304 yeah, sorry I had the same email earlier and forgot to say! They musthave had a fair few complaints and decide to send out a faster mail. Its still not restored my confidence in them,i mean they seem to have done a bit of flip flopping, but it does look like we will be getting mario kart tomorrow so...yay!!

Re: Miiverse Tells the Tale of a Broken Mario Kart 8 Street Date

Marshi

@smikey Agreed mate. This just makes me lose faith in nintendo. Even if my copy does come tomorrow. My confidence in them will still be tarnished due to how vague they are in emails. Very very disgruntled customer here nintendo. And before anyone says this is the same with all companies il say to you: what a load of crap! I dont have any issues with grainger games, amazon, shopto, zavvi or any other websites and I usually get the games the day before. Now im not complaining that I dont have mario kart today, but if they cant even guarantee the game by the blinking RELEASE DATE then that is very badly organised

Re: Miiverse Tells the Tale of a Broken Mario Kart 8 Street Date

Marshi

@bouncer0304 In the exact same situation. Can you please reply with any update on this? Mine says awaiting dispatch. Im hoping tomorrow that will change to "dispatched". If not then I wont get it friday and im sure nintendo uk store will be getting at least 3 stern emails about lacklustre customer service! At the very least that dispatch date notice needs to change to "expected arrival". Ah nintendo, never has a company excited and annoyed me in such equel mesure!

Re: Miiverse Tells the Tale of a Broken Mario Kart 8 Street Date

Marshi

@smikey Had the same message mate. Ive emailed them and they say it will be dispatched to arrive by the 30th. Mine does say dispatch date 30th though. Id expect an email tomorrow and if by the afternoon I dont have one il be demanding a refund. Anyone had late deliveries on the nintendo uk store?

Re: Mario Kart Month: Keeping the Mario Kart 8 Race Going With DLC

Marshi

@turnmebackwards You got 9 courses each with 18 holes in them before any dlc was purchased dude! How on earth can anyone complain at that? I remember the snes era, where you would pay 40 quid for a game with 5 levels that could be completed in an hour! Trust me mate,we get alot of bang for our buck now. Its just if we want more bang we have the option!

Re: Mario Kart Month: Keeping the Mario Kart 8 Race Going With DLC

Marshi

@unrandomsam Well I agree if a dlc "breaks the game" then ofcourse thats not good. But in general dlc is just extra parts of a game that can be enjoyed if you liked the original game. But dont affect the game if you dont wana play it. Its all subjective I supose. I just find it very greedy when people complain that they are not getting the whole game, even though previous entries offered the same amount of original content.

By the way, what do you mean by free standing? How could you play mk8 with only 1 character dlc without the actual game?

Re: Mario Kart Month: Keeping the Mario Kart 8 Race Going With DLC

Marshi

Dlc is a naughty word with some gamers, but I remember games 10 years ago, where gamers would wet themselves with excitement if there were any extra course to buy on granturismo 4, or new characters to play as in streetfighter 3 etc etc. Now all alot of gamers do is moan that "the dlc should have been on the game in the first place". Theres just no pleasing some people.

Well I for one would LOVE mario kart dlc in any form! New karts, new characters new courses. You name it id love it! After all,its more of what you loveg why wouldnt you like that?

Re: Fresh Nintendo Wii U Patent Looks Like a Wii Music Game

Marshi

I simply LOVED wii music! But lack of any great tunes(twinkle twinkle little star, really?) and midi sounds rather than real sounds stopped it from being a masterpeice. If this truly is Wii U Music, and it can have better sound, tunes and maybe even dlc instruments and tunes I for one would be very very happy

Re: Sonic Lost World Hits 710,000 Sales as Sega Lines Up Significant 3DS Support

Marshi

Dear Sega.
I love you man. You were there all the way through my childhood. And now that you are best buds with my other childhood staple,Nintendo, things are looking bright...So im sure you appreciate how much it pains me to say: WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO YOU! You were the go to company for incredible games like outrun, streets of rage, shenmue, skys of arcadia, sonic adventure 1 and 2. Now we only have lightweight Sonic? Oh no im sorry you are making another crazy taxi game...FOR MOBILE!? Please make amazing games again, ones that dont have to involve a blue hedgehog.
Yours truthfully
A fan

Re: Play: Mario Golf: World Tour With Nintendo Life

Marshi

Me last week: "Urgh, golf. The 3ds is guna start collecting dust if it dosnt bring anything interesting to the table this year!" Sees mk golf demo " Ok im guna hate it but lets at least see whats so MARIO about the most boring sport in the world". Trys mk golf demo "...Oh my god! So addictive!" Buys mk golf and game becomes most addictive 3ds game since fire emblem

Anyone on the fence about this game should try it. Even if you're not a golf fan. Its brilliant! I'l be entering every tourny you guys put out the NL!

Re: Mario Golf: World Tour’s DLC Isn't Locked Away in the Main Game

Marshi

@Geonjaha Well that explains it then! To you ofcourse the games not guna seem worth it.

Look you are absolutely right, day 1 dlc is a sucky thing FOR SOME GAMES. Ridge racer for the ps vita a prime example of greedy devs rather than gamers. But I think you gotta judge each game on its own merits. I mean when people are complaining about day 1 dlc of final fantasy 13-2, a game that takes 30-60 hours to complete. Then how can that NOT be greedy of us to want more content for free?

Anyway I wont go on! Peace dude

Re: Mario Golf: World Tour’s DLC Isn't Locked Away in the Main Game

Marshi

@Geonjaha im not calling you greedy for not buying a game, that would be absurd, and offensive, which is not my intent(just having a discussion dude)...but (theres always a but) as you say yourself you refuse to buy a game because of dlc released day one. On a game with already plenty of content. Look, dlc is optional dude. If you dont wana buy a game because there is dlc then fair enough. But if your reason for not buying the game is that you want this day 1 dlc to be in the game then im sorry but that to me is greedy

Re: Mario Golf: World Tour’s DLC Isn't Locked Away in the Main Game

Marshi

@Geonjaha Im sorry dude, nothing personal but everything you say here proves my point that gamers have become very greedy. You are 100 % correct, they could have put the "day 1 dlc" into the game. And if all you got in this game was 1 18 hole course with no online and only mario, luigi and your mii to play as I would be shouting rip off from the rafters I assure you. But thats not the case. You get 3 normal courses,a special course, numorous characters that can be upgraded and an absolutely massive online mode that will keep even the most hardcore gamers playing for weeks...and thats not enough for you?

Like I say, I prove my point

Re: Mario Golf: World Tour’s DLC Isn't Locked Away in the Main Game

Marshi

Am I the only one who thinks gamers are becoming more and more greedy?
Look its easy, as long as there is enough replayability in a game or a big enough story to warrant a purchase then buy it if you like the look of it. Then if you still like the game after you finished the story/played all the content then you have the option to purchase more. When the hell did that become a bad thing?!

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo's E3 Plans Are Full of Tantalising Potential

Marshi

@rjejr Agreed, but I will say new announcements MUST be made if Nintendo stands a chance of grabbing headlines this. Part of why nintendo direct failed last year was that the only really new announcement was super mario 3d world, and because of an awful stream, underwhelming trailer and general assumtions by pretty much the entire nintendo fanbase that we would be getting a mario galaxy/sunshine/64 type game that itself fell on deaf ears.

The exciting thing is that nintendo can still easily pull this around. I dont care about dates, seriously they could be 2 years away, but if Ninty announce things like a new F Zero, Metroid, Star fox, a new ip even along with fresh info on little heard projects like X and Zelda U? Yes I think that will push wiiu into the limelight and show that Nintendo are not going anywhere.

Will we get that though? At this point I really couldnt say

Re: Ubisoft Now "Fully Focused" On Making The Wii U Version Of Watch_Dogs "The Best It Can Be"

Marshi

Hmmm ports are improving, just bought amazing spiderman 2 and its clearly better than ps360 version, with crisper textures and a smooth 30-45 fps and most important not a hint of the screen tearing that plagued the first game on wiiu. My point here is that I have a feeling the wiiu version of watchdogs will get similar treatment.

I feel this is third parties giving wiiu a chance to see how things sell. Giving the wiiu this chance though has consequences. Most hurtful is in order to make use of the wiiu's special abilities then a delay may become a common accurance, and most fans wont want to wait. Me? Il be buying the ps4 version. BUT!!! I will happily double dip if the extra dev time makes the wiiu version the best, like deus ex directors cut was. Whether other fans will deem it worth double dipping, well that depends on them. And that is the double edged sword of the wiiu

Re: Disney Infinity 2.0: Marvel Super Heroes Comes To Wii U But Not Wii

Marshi

@gatorboi352 All the more reason we should be thankful ps360 is still popular. Seriously the 8th gen is gunna be very diferent in the fact that 7th gen will still be supported by triple a games, along with games for the new systems. Would not surprise me if there are still new triple a games coming to ps360 in 3/4 years

Re: Mario Kart 8 Club Nintendo Promotion Offers a Free Wii U Game

Marshi

I stupidly traded in monster hunter and been pining for it ever since. Cant find it at retail at all and was so close to spending a ridiculous amount on ebay for a copy. Now I dont have to! Bloody brilliant nintendo, please advertise this in shops,on tv,everywhere! Buying a wiiu for mario kart 8 alone will be a good investment for people, but marin kart 8 AND a free game? Thats almost impossible to resist im sure.
