Is this the "big news"? Hope not

The game deserves better than this. Anyone interested in jrpgs, mmo's, open worlds or even just a passing interest in a game with a good story you really must buy Xenoblade Chronicles X. Eberything about the game is superb. Combat, story, graphics, immersion and addiction factors, art design, soundtrack. All absolutely astounding. Seriously it is one of the years best games. Show your support Nintendo fans and give the game a try, I promise you will not be disapointed

Fast racing neo for sure, but also, just because the game is so damn amazing. Please buy Xenoblade Chronicles X people! Show Nintendo we love the imersive jrpgs and adventure games! GOTY for me, and yes I also have Fallout 4, Rise of the Tomb raider, The Witcher 3 and Bloodborne. And Xenoblade Chronicles X is entertaining me more than even those gigantic games. Thats how good it is.

@zool Dude, two things. First: Awesome avatar, Zool was a great game for its time!...yes im old...
Second: You are doing yourself an injustice if you dont pick up this game. Did you play Xenoblade Chronicles for wii? Or do you enjoy jrpgs or mmo's? If the answer is no to all of them then...fair enough. But if you like leveling up, massive open worlds, fantastically designed monsters to take out and a huge sprawling epic story (seriously, the game begins with earth being blown up) then you really owe it to yourself to give the game a go.

Lesson one is a given, but I would say its great to have to find out alot of these mechanics ourselves and over time rather than been told every single gameplay nuance before the game is even released. Anyone with a Ps4 will know that the reason games like Bloodborne are so damn addictive and atmospheric is that even veterans can be initially clueless as how to overcome certain sections/monsters. It means when you do beat them you feel like a god.
While XCX isnt anything like Bloodborne it shares that same mysteriousness. Eg. I didnt realise until my third attempt that by locking onto a certain boss's wings that I would ground him, making him a pushover to defeat. Its this lack of knowledge about what im up against that makes me love XCX. Hell, I have Fallout 4, Halo 5, Bloodborne and Rise Of The Tomb Raider and I still think XCX could be my game of the year. Its that good.

@Mr_Diabolical You should think of the game awards like the Oscars. Very few of your choices will win an award. While I do agree Halo 5 is jead and shoulders above the rest in terms of best multiplayer shooter, I still think Splatoon deserves praise for its unique and (rare for the genre) family friendly approach to shooters. At the end of the day the awards are normally kust an excuse to make the big wigs more money and gain a good reputation. I mean, how many "stars" were being interviewed asking for an opinion on Star Wars Battlefront and not one of them saying its an overpriced sparse content ridden and unfair shooter like it is? Still, much like the oscars you get occasional moments of brilliance and common sense. E.G. The Satoru Iwata tribute and Geoff Keighley exposing Konami for the swines they are over the whole Hideo Kojima saga.

Cant wait. Was hoping this awesome news would be that the game is out now for download like a big surprise. But beggars cant be choosers. Will be picking this up day one. You here that Nintendo? A futuristic racer is released for wii u and most people wish to purchase it day one. You wouldnt happen to have any sort of Futuristic Racer that you could make do you...?

Erm, great week. But am I the only one seeing you guys (Nintendolife) saying there are three wii games on VC this week when in fact its just one?

My summary opinion in a nutshell: If you own both a wii u and a 3ds the direct was a runaway hit with 2 Dragon quest classics, Awesome Fire emblem news, A new and amazing looking character for the Hyrule warriors port, Vc Pokemon, Bravely default sequel, Support for Triforce heroes and a few more items ive probably forgot. And thats just news for 3ds. Needless to say 3ds owners have it covered over the next 6 to 9 months and with a few Wii U projects on the horizon the near future is looking grand.

However, If like me you only own a Wii U the direct was slighlty less shiny. Basically the only "new" reveal was Twilight Princess HD which was practically all but confirmed weeks ago. Dont get me wrong I am hugely excited for the game and despite the usual outcry of "Lazy port" being screamed on this site I cantveait to hear more about it. But thatbwas pretty much it. Sure we got dlc news, and great news at that, in the form of Cloud as a playable smash character and a release window for Fast racing neo. Yet as usual Wii U owners I felt were neglected some what.

Dont get me wrong, Wii U has some fantastic games incoming. Xenoblade Chronicles X, despite me owning Fallout 4, Halo 5, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Bloodborne and Batman: Arkham Knight, Could still be my game of the year. But in terms of the direct the Wii U was once again almost pushed into the corner with news we already know about. 3ds owners had a much more exciting stream of news and updates and game releases.

Im laughing so hard here because of the insanity of it...What exactly do you people want?! You wanted Twilight Princess HD. Twilight Princess HD is coming yet you are still unhappy because this looks "lazy". What exactly are Nintendo supposed to do with a remaster? Make a completely new game? The video shows the UI has been streamlined, the textures are very sharp, the colours have been boosted and the lighting looks alot better. That is exactly the same treatment Wind Waker got. Aside from turning the game into a remake (and thus making the release date far in the future rather than march) there is nothing more Nintendo could do here. Seriously, you guys are never happy!

Am I the only one that saw the announcement of the 2 ds zelda games available after the presentation? Yet I cant see them on e shop and nlife hasnt announced them???

I think its a safe bet there will be at least one surprise in this direct most people are happy with. And my moneys on the reality that Twilight Princess HD is a real project being worked on.

Hopes= Zelda Wii U release date first half of 2016. ZELDA twilight princess hd available to download after presentation. Games coming before xmas include quirky indy mario game, Gamecube vc and wii vc games coming including f zero gx and super mario sunshine.
Reality= A bunch of already known titles anounced. Zelda Wii U Delayed to be a NX launch title and Zelda twilight princess hd IS coming but its a wii vc version and not coming till next year.

@TimoteiWest Well I think the sky is the limit with games like this. Id love to see plenty of dlc and would happily pay for new content (thats content Nintendo, no skins or outfits rubbish) but would also love to see the "Maker" brand become just that, a franchise that takes a well loved series andalways you to make your own content. As long as Nintendo keeps it fun and easy to do im game for anything.

F ZERO MAKER. Just think Ninento. You would have a brilliant slogan: "You Want a new F Zero? Make one yourself!"
Been able to make tracks. Customize ships. Even build them from scratch, all with the stylus. It would ve AMAZING. Please make it happen Nintendo!

I really like the idea of a game that keeps delivering new content sometimes right up to its next retail release. Look at games like Destiny, Driveclub and of course, Splatoon. All these games are (by todays standards) old now with Destiny being nearly a year and a quarter old, yet with new content in the form of weapons, missions, raids and even new story dlc the game is as popular as ever. I would love to see continued support for MK 8 Smash and Splatoon with more tracks, characters, levels and even just tune ups of the UI in the games would breath new life into them.

I actually think an 8 is too low. This game is stunning and exactly what I have been wanting from a sonic game since around 5 seconds after I finished Sonic and Knuckles 21 years ago! Its not a Sonic game though, more a superb platformer in its own right with a generous smattering of sonic speed to compliment the game. This is honestly one of my fave Wii U games this year

Big budget Metroid. Cool! Though Chobot as Samus didnt work. To be fair its not like they could afford a triple A star. I think the perfect Samus would be Summer Glaw, Petite star of Terminator tv series and Crackpot psychic from Serenity and Firefly. I think she could pull off the stoic but charismatic personality of Samus Aran.

If this isnt released within the next coupke of weeks im fairly certain this will be dalayed to 2016. I really hope its out this year though. We have had a very poor second half of the year us wii u owners but with this, project zero and xenoblade chronicles x I will be more than happy.

Much as I would love this to be true, this is yet more barmy and under productive marketing plans for the wii u. I mean, there are a few games due out before the end of the year. Its november now! And considering these games will need to be out before christmas to be in with a chance of attaining sales goals that leaves around a month and a half to bring them out. That does not leave alot of time ti make an impact.

A 6...for a Zelda game. Nintendo have just royally FAILED me this year. They had a pathetic E3, shown no support at ALL for the Wii U other than occasional flashes of brilliant games like Mario Maker and Xenoblade chronicles X. The new 3ds was released and then almost imediately forgotten about by Nintendo themselves. Need I go on. I am a massive fan of Nintendo and have stubbornly fended off haters for the last 3 years, but this year has been the last straw for me. Aside from Zelda (if it comes to the platform) I am done with Nintendo.

The Last Story on Wii VC please!

I hope this gen shows Nintendo that sometimes, people prefer evolution over inovation. With games like Halo 5 and Uncharted 4 selling consoles before said games are even out it shows that most people just want a great looking game that runs well and plays well, using a traditional controller. Let it be known that I love my Wii U and the games are fantastic. But the gamepad, whilst I enjoy off tv play, really hurt the Wii U's sales due to how expensive they had to sell the system.

Cant wait for more info. But I swear if Zelda Wii u is pushed to the nx platform I am done with nintendo.

@jariw I promise you you are not half as confused as I am! Fibre optic broadband connection. No issues with my other consoles (or other wiiu games for that matter) and tried EVERY solution and nothing. Every single match brings up the "connection unstable" message. Ive even rang my isp and they were adamant that it wasnt a unstable connection on their side and I believe them (a rarity). I really want nintendo to address this. The big problem is it only seems to affect 1 in maybe 20 players. So most people, like yourself, declare that its fine for them.

@Deviant_Mugen That happened to me too a few week ago before the update. I traded the game with the intention of buying it again once the terrible online was sorted. Seems thats still not the case...The troubling thing is (as you will no doubt see) is that it only happens to certain people. Most have enjoyed a super smooth connection. And nintendo are not saying squat on what the issue is. It cant be the speed as I am on fibre and I know people who are on 100+ mps speed with the same "sorry we lost the connection" issue. Its strange and I have mentioned several times nintendo life should do a peice on this,but never get a reply. Id love to play splatoon as for a while it was an incredible game. But with this weird issue there is no way I am repurchasing until it is acknowledged and fixed.

@Peach64 one can hope. I think one is coming very soon at the least. Starfix hasnt got a release date yet but Ninty is adamant that it is a 2015 game. And im not in the mood for any "delayed till 2016 please understand" messages either!

Ive said this numorous times but I will say it again. If Zelda wii U does not come to wii u Im DONE with Nintendo. No NX for me no matter what. I will have been burnt one too many times if the new zelda is pushed to be a NX launch game

A dedicated accounts system that links the NX with Wii U and 3ds.
AAA Core Games like a new Mario adventure in the veign of 64, sunshine or Galaxy (No more casual platformers!), a new Metroid, New F Zero etc.
AAA Core Third party games.
And most important I want the NX to be a significant leap in tech over the ps4 and Xbox One. Im no graphics professor but there needs to be an improvement in tech otherwise what is the point of upgrading from Wii U/Ps4/Xbox One?
And that is it Nintendo. No more off the wall bats crazy rubbish. Just give me a powerful system, a great pad and games. Thats why the Snes was so popular.

It may not have its name, but this IS the F-Zero game we have been wanting for the last 11 years. Take note Nintendo! Please for the love of all that is good, just listen to your fans. WE WANT AN F-ZERO GAME. This will certainly do nicely until that happens

Im never bothered about the power of a machine im playing on. Aslong as the game isnt ugly and runs smoothly im happy. However there is no sugar coating this. If the nx isnt at least double the power of ps4 it will be yet another under 15 million selling console. I am 100% percent confident of this because third parties want power and if nx isnt even going to beat ps4 third parties will simply abandon the nx like they did the wii u and wait for ps5 and next xbox.

What utter balony. Last year Nintendo "won" e3 by showing a 45 second teaser for Zelda WiiU. A game we knew we weren't getting in 2014. This year was an atrocious e3 for nintendo. We dont want stupid half baked multiplayer zelda and Metroid games. We dont want an amiibo based animal crossing board game. Its like they had nothing new to show and knew fans want a new Zelda and metroid and animal crossing so they got a small team to rush out these peices of crap this year. Okay that may be a bit harsh because at the end of it all im sure The new zelda and metroid 3ds games will be fun. But its not what we want. We want big AAA core experiences that frankly, we haven't had much of on the WiiU. This may be the straw that broke the camels back for me with Nintendo. So disappointed.

@TheHumbleFellow But we knew about star fox and have seen a million mario maker trailers now. E3 is about dropping bombshells on the audience. Xbox did. Playstation did. Nintendo tries to make us want an Animal Crossing Amiibo board game. The metroid game looks terrible and nothing like a true metroid game. The whole digital event was a combination of "yes ive seen this show us something new" and "what the heck is this?!". Star fox and Mariomaker will be awesome and im looking forward to playing them. But can you not see how disasterous this was. There was nothing else major announced.

Worsed Nintendo E3 ever. Where the heck were the games? Star fox is next year at least, Xenoblade we have seen a million times (though I am excited for it). I dont want a stupid Amiibo animal crossing board game! I dont want a stupid zelda game that seems more about co op and (!!!) Fashion than what zelda is normally about. Where was Metroid? And dont you dare say that Metroid federation rubbish is a metroid game! I love Nintendo. I have feverishly defended them in the past but this is so bad. I have a giant mushroom sized knot of disapointmentbin my chest and I dont think.its going to go away for quite a while...

For once im happy with the lack of content this week. It gives me hope that there will be some nice surprises next week. Im just waiting to hear those magic words: "This will be available shortly after this presentation"

Hmm working now! I disconnected and reconnected both my wii u and router! Splat on!

@Berezau I play ff via wifi, everything I do online is wifi as the router is on the other side of the room making a wired connection implossible! What is an mtu setting? Thanks for the help mate, was going barmy!

@Berezau Maybe so because no one else seems to be having the problem. But I can game online with every other game fine. I play FF Xiv alot and thats an mmo with no issues what so ever band splatoon ran smooth as butter before the update this week but now it wont work for me. Cant see how its a problem.on my side but again, I see no other answer if everyone else has a fine connection?

@AyeHaley Hmmm I will have to call my isp. The service before the update was as every says. One of the smoothest online experiences available right now. But after the update a few days ago I have had nothing but this internet connection lost message on every single match. Its so annoying
