I have and Xbox One X as well as my Switch. I had a PS4 as well, but it wasn’t being used much so I sold it to a friend. I like the Switch for the 1st party games, but also for the ability to play games on the go. I have Skyrim and Diablo 3 on both systems, but they get wayyyyy more use on my Switch.

@BenAV yep, cheating at a game you make a living off of is like stealing from a normal job. Either way you should be fired.

Man.... I cannot think of anyone in the gaming industry more Legendary than Reggie. Maybe Miyamoto? I’m glad he’s being recognized for it.

Yeah... this is a hard no for me. The controls are awful.

I knew it! All the moves that took 2 seconds to charge (like Guile’s sonic boom) they could just spam over and over.

Sold! I play a lot of competitive game’s online, but never my racing games.

The switch September lineup is amazing. There are a years worth of games packed into this month.

I’m enjoying the snes games I missed the first time around, but also DQ Builders 2.

@Krambo42 September is ridiculous. I am still having a great time with DQ builders 2 and MARIO Maker 2. I don’t believe I will have time to finish all these games. Good problem to have I suppose

Everyone who had an original NES had cartridge read issues. I had one completely fail on me and bought a second before the SNES was even released. Also, the original Gameboys would develop lines on their screens if left in a hot car that would be permanent, so I went through 2 of those in the 80s. Since then I’ve owned every piece of hardware Nintendo has released and never had another problem.

Awwww, I love Reggie. Bowser seems cool though. It’s nice to see Microsoft and Nintendo getting along, works well for me since I have both of their consoles.

The new kotaku-ish joy/cons section of these reviews is great.

@Doktor-Mandrake yes, I know ID made Doom, I bought it when it came out in the 90’s. Bethesda owns it.

I’m going to go ahead and call foul here. No way on earth this was accidental, they saw the public outcry and back-peddled. Bethesda owns some of my favorite games (these doom games included) but they have been stepping on their own feet as of late. Fingers crossed the next Elder Scrolls game is awesome.

Super annoying. I bought all three last night as I am a huge doom fan, only to not be able to play when I started up the first game while in transit. I logged on through my phone’s hotspot to fix it, but that is just stupid for a game with no online features that was released to celebrate the original game’s 25th anniversary.

Cool! I’m playing with Deadpool, star lord, Spider-Man and wolverine right now.

Is this still coming out?

I love this game! Wish it were out now. September is going to be crowded for switch.

Too many games coming in the fall. I wish this was out over the summer. This comes out, then a week later the new Dragon Quest comes to Switch. Makes it feel rushed.

Preorder my Sega mini today through Gamestop. I’m very excited, we were always a Nintendo house from the NES on growing up so many of these will be new experiences to me. My Dad was a computer engineer and always preferred Nintendo’s technically superior (for the time) hardware.

@XO-Frats agreed. Adding a full slate of 4-6 cups would add to all the existing tracks, that way you can play what you want without switching games. Unless they did like smash ultimate, and made a Mario Kart with every track and racer from every previous installment. That would be excellent.

I’d rather have mk 8 updated with additional dlc tracks.

@LunarFlame17 I agree with you. I have an Xbox to play online with, my Switch is for couch co-op or portable solo gaming (with the exception of Splatoon 2, which I play with random strangers). I am more than pleased with the switch in those capacities. I subscribe to Nintendo’s annual online subscription for the free retro games that I would have otherwise purchased from the virtual console.

@atomicjuicer Assassin’s Creed 1 was also my favorite. None of the others clicked for me like that. It was new and mysterious, I got bored and left after 2, came back and played black flag on ps4, but I always wondered about 3. I like the revolutionary setting.

As with Saints Row the third on Switch, I have been having a good time with this. Maybe I just have lower standards when it comes to the switch vs my Xbox one x, but the portability is worth the technical trade off in my opinion.

I’ve been spoiled by the RE2 remake. It’s outstanding. I began a play through of RE4 yesterday on Switch and forgot how clunky even those controls are, I can’t do tank controls again. Hopefully they remake RE1 in the same manner As RE2.

Wow! That looks amazing! The Zelda series is one of my favorites, and the art style of Ni no Kuni is the best.

That’s fun! Think I’ll stick with the Apple Watch though. Maybe they have a case for that which makes it look like a gameboy.

That’s great news. I’ve been having a great time with the game, but it’s been a bit of a struggle with the controls. I just chalked it up to the price of admission for an open world game on the switch, but if they can make it run smoother that is much appreciated.

I enjoy playing many of the existing nes games that have been added in the past. Especially the zeldas and Mario’s and punch out. This month is not looking to good though.

I was on the fence about buying mk 11 due to the smartphone-esque micro transactions, but hearing yet another greedy dev story seals it for me. I’m busy with dragons dogma and red dead redemption II right now anyway.

I love Nintendo, but they will straight up lie to protect a secret. Not convinced they won’t be showing new hardware at E3.

This is cool, but I like the portability of my Switch. Also, my Switch works if the power goes out, or in places that have no internet connection.

Like the Xbox, I see this selling along side the normal switch sku for now. As high speed internet becomes more affordable and available I know physical media will be phased out eventually. Most laptops and desktops no longer have optical drives. I just purchased a 2017 Civic and it is my first car in 20 years that doesn’t have a CD player. It has CarPlay and usb, but music on disc is dead.

I like that switch only owners have access to games like Mortal Kombat and Doom and Wolfenstein. Having said that, after buying Doom and Wolfenstein II on both Xbox one X and switch, I will be purchasing MK 11 on the Xbox. I am sure the switch version will have to make quite a few concessions to run this. Just like my original Gameboy version on Mortal Kombat did.

Awwwwww! Reggie will be missed. Out of the 3 console manufacturers he is the most likable CEO in my opinion.

I just want to know when it comes out. $60 is high, but I would pay it.

Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I thought the release date for Dragon Quest XI was going to be my favorite thing in this direct, boy was I wrong. I did not expect a remake of Links Awakening. Best direct ever!

That’s just silly on Sony’s part, to lie in a press statement when they know they have devs that they turned away. I used to be a bit of a PS fanboy, but they have disappointed me this generation.

If this slow roll out continues I will not be renewing my online subscription after the year runs out. Make it like Apple Music or Amazon Music and just let us have access to the whole nes catalogue. It would take some shady rom site a half an afternoon to get that up and running, Nintendo has no excuse for taking this long.

If you can’t play it with an MFI game pad I want nothing to do with it.

@sleepinglion Often console revisions are cheaper to manufacture than their predecessors.

If they were they wouldn’t announce it until right before release. Otherwise it would stunt sales of the current model when people decide to wait for the new sku.

This is disappointing, I expected Metroid Prime to be the Switch tent pole game this year. Maybe they will release a prime collection at least to hold us over.

I was perusing their job listings the other day. They have a tech support manager for anyone who speaks French and English. Lots of postings for various positions actually.

I bought my first 3ds on launch day and was an ambassador. Bought an xl and a new 3ds. Loved all of them, but 2019 is a good time to start phasing it out and hopefully lower the price point on the switch to invite multiple users per household. A clamshell design would be great for younger players.

I will never get bored of 2d MARIO. I’ve played all of them multiple times and I have this predownloaded already.
