I've been using the aerospray mg and this is very similar and I like the special better. I played a few rounds with it and have been able to play as well if not better using similar tactics. Nice addition!

Capcom and Konami were two of my favorite childhood game companies between nes and snes. They just make me sad now.

What an awesome idea! Why didn't anyone think of this before, we have had universal remotes for years. If the build quality is good this is perfect for someone like me who has multiple consoles and iOS devices and computers. I wouldn't have to buy extra controllers for each to play local multiplayer.

That is very cool! I already have all of the early Dragon Quest games on my iPhone from the App Store, but this is a great way to get younger people to enjoy the original. I was just a kid when I got Dragon Warrior as part of the Nintendo Power promotion.

@JaxonH Well said. It's ok to like all kinds of games. I love Splatoon 1 and 2. I also love Overwatch. I like Battlefield 1 and Call of Duty. Breath of the Wild is one of my favorite games ever. So is the very first Legend of Zelda on NES. I never understood why liking one game means you can't like another.

Easy solution:
Step 1) buy a Bluetooth or wired headset
Step 2) connect it to your phone
Step 3) call your friends

This sounds great, I have quite a few of Zen's pinball games and they are very well made. I hope that translates well to mini golf.

I downloaded Splatoon 2 the night it came out. It took me 2 hours to get into the eshop because it crashed with so many people trying to buy the game here in the states. That seems to bode well for sales.

@JJ286 Yes, the game is a lot of fun. I have played through all the tournaments and then some. I have it on the switch and the Xbox one. Even though it is prettier on Xbox I like the switch version better because it is portable and I can pull the joycons off and my Pro controllers and my friends and I can play 4 player games together couch co-op anywhere.

@JJ286 that pic is definitely from PS4 or Xbox one. The characters don't have shadows in the switch version, much less the npcs.

@Spoony_Tech The update makes the game 100% better. It has meters now to identify the sweet spot for shots (similar to mario golf). No more frustrating missed layups.

@crimsontadpoles I'm kinda sad the got rid of the between-match mini games though.

Cool! I don't know if I'll pick it up as I have already played it, but it's a nice addition to the catalog. I love the Rayman artwork, it is gorgeous.

@MagicEmperor Walmart sent me the notification, but I didn't see it until after the nintendolife post. Missed it. Hopefully Amazon or bestbuy comes through.

The voice chat part of the app is stupid. If you want to communicate through your phone while playing make a conference call or video chat. The people on the other end will be notified and you can easily see if they are available. Beyond that, it is ok for the splatoon stuff. I own all 3 major consoles, I play online mostly on my Xbox 1, I play the PS4 when new exclusives come out for it single player, and I play my Switch mostly in person with other people. When I do play it online it is normally against random people and I'm that sad about the lack of voice chat with random people.

Clearly Goldeneye would be my number one. I think Microsoft would allow it, they put Minecraft on PS4 and Nintendo. I think the movie liscenses are the real problem there. Also, ocarina and Mario kart 64, star fox 64. That's about it off the top of my head.

@Bengals76 Yes, this is rediculousness. And can someone explain why if my friends and I are all sitting there with out phones, why we wouldn't just do a conference call? Or FaceTime? We could see each other and use less battery than what this thing is supposed to use (ign reported 64% on an iPhone 6s for an hour and that isn't with voice chat the whole time). Amazingly, Nintendo has found a way to make online communication even worse than the last generation. I am at a loss.

@OorWullie What sense does that make? If the device has no internet connection, why would you need to talk to other players.

Had a great time in the splat fest. Quick question though, did Nintendo do away with the between round mini games? I understand there is not a second screen, but it could be off to the side of the lobby, or make the lobby info smaller. I enjoyed those games, they made the wait times between rounds much less noticeable.

Maybe they are bringing Dragon Quest x to Japan and that's why the keyboard.

@OorWullie I've gotten 4 myself. I really liked the turf masters and waku waku. I would love to see more of the old sports titles like baseball.

I'm still totally going to get the game, I would have bought it without this mode at all because I loved the first one. However, this seems like an odd move. Maybe Nintendo is doing this because the switch is new and has a relatively small user base. They don't want to have everyone jump on the new mode and have the competitive lobbies be empty.

@Samwise7 If you bought all the games included on the SNES classic mini on the VC at the going rate for SNES games it would cost you $210.

I hate constantly having to check throughout the day. I'm here in NA and lucky enough to be able to check all the retailers with landing pages every hour or so. I bookmarked the nintendolife article that has all the links in it and set up stock notifications on the various retailers sites. What sucks is the scalpers who cause the shortages. Thankfully, I see the U.K. Sites have notifications that they are limited to 1 per customer. I hope th U.S. follows suit.

If they have one in stock I will buy it.

First, "don't touch those sega games" seems a bit dramatic, considering they are free to play with ad support. Secondly, they run flawlessly on my iPhone 7+. I'm sure if you have a garbage low end android you will run into some issues, but the same could be said for every other app on those phones.

I'm just thinking out loud here, but what if the SNES mini isn't what the nes classic was? What if it is a vehicle for a virtual console. There are a ton of people who wouldn't never buy the switch or 2ds who love classic snes/nes games. I saw it over and over with the nes classic. People who couldn't care less about modern video games went nuts for it. Then there would be a steady revenue stream instead of a $60 one off sale. That would explain the cancellation of the nes classic.

My current handheld is the switch. I am quite happy with it.

I'm good this week. I've got Arms to play and ashamedly I haven finished BOTW main story (even though I have 70+ hours logged).

@NEStalgia I forgot about "The Last Night" that game looks great. Days Gone on PS4 looks pretty great as well. Also looking forward to the new Metroid Prime (mysterious as it is). There is no shortage of awesomeness on its way.

@NEStalgia I would welcome a stable frame rate and increased draw distance, more AI on screen, more intelligent AI. But it seems like the marketing message has been 4K. I'm not saying the other things won't happen, it's just not the buzz they are pushing. As far as the MS exclusive games, both State of Decay 2 and Sea of Thieves have stuck in my head, even after Spiderman and Mario Odyssey. But I am excited for all of those.

@ThatNyteDaez I liked the games MS brought, but I was disappointed by the price of the Xbox One X. Also, the reasoning of buying an xb 1x or PS4 pro for 4K alone seems wasteful if you already own both (I do). Nintendo has been firing on all cylinders lately, I think they have the ability to put out the best press conference of E3 this year.

@ericflapjack that's what I first thought of. They are doing cross platform between switch and Xbox and windows for Minecraft.

I am more excited about the shooting system update. That is awesome. If it's good I'll re buy it on xbone to play with my friends there. It's fun on switch and PS4 but a little inconsistent.

Sounds like the virtual console will be pushed back to 2018. Which makes me think it will not allow you to transfer purchases. Just an educated guess.

Hmmmmmmm. Silly, my friends and I have been using the PS4 voice chat while playing our Switches. Sad.

I hope it's not because the switch version is inferior to the PS4. I was hoping to buy it on switch as I like the ability to play a game in bursts throughout the day, then dig in when I get home. Especially with a DQ game, which I am sure will be lengthy.

I wish they would do something about the shot timing animations. Super fun but, it doesn't pay to shoot anything but 3s.
