Well, that's another week down, and this one was full of Metacritic review bombing drama, SNES games galore, and only a bloomin' Nintendo Direct. Phwoar.
So, it's absolutely time for us to sit back, relax, and chat about our gaming weekend plans to wind down. We've done just that below, and we'd love for you to join in via our poll and comment sections. Enjoy!

After a week of searching far and wide in my local area, I’ve finally got my grubby mitts on Astral Chain. I know… last weekend I wasn’t all that interested in playing this game, but after reading our own review here on Nintendo Life and hearing all the positive comments and feedback from our community, I quickly changed my mind.
I’m not sure what I was thinking trying to pass this up in the first place. The first few hours of the game have been an absolute blast. I love the funky beats in the headquarters and that anime-style opening sequence was something special. When I’m not in Astral Chain over the weekend getting to know my Legion, I’ll probably be playing Stunt Race FX on the Switch Online SNES app. I would also like to fit in a few sessions of River City Girls and Torchlight II. Oh, and I should probably test out the new DLC fighter Banjo-Kazooie.

There are just so many things to play! Despite having finished a new run on Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen (I'm in New Game+ now, naturally), I'm still deep into Astral Chain and Spyro Reignited Trilogy. I'm even playing Assassin's Creed III Remastered, because I love AC and I'm not even embarrassed about it at this stage in my life.
However, I'll need to put all those tasty morsels to one side as I take NBA 2K20 for a spin this weekend. I've heard good things about this Switch port - namely proper feature parity with other consoles, finally - so expect my three-pointer heavy verdict on the latest instalment in handheld basketball next week.

Well, it's happened. Just like pretty much everyone else I've spoken to this week, I'm practically in love with Astral Chain.
I'm about eight-or-so hours in, taking things really leisurely and exploring every nook and cranny of each area. There's something really satisfying about the game's mix of exploration, objectives and battles, so even though I don't really know what I'm doing half the time in the bigger fights, I still enjoy the ride anyway. Safe to say I'll be blasting through another File or two this weekend.

I can easily say I believe my entire weekend will be consumed with enjoying all of the old SNES titles of my childhood, which now quite literally fit into my pocket and are playable anywhere. I had a tear in my eye yesterday as I opened up the SNES app on Switch, and began playing Super Mario World, A Link to the Past, Super Mario Kart, Super Metroid, Kirby... all of the titles that introduced me to gaming. I even called up my uncle - the owner of the original SNES system I first got my gaming chops on as a kid - and had a blast reminiscing with him (he still has his console, by the way). Oh Nintendo, how you do tug at our heartstrings.

With Banjo dropping in Smash Bros. Ultimate earlier this week, now is finally the time for me to join the fight. I’m not ashamed to admit I got a bit emotional watching the video with Masahiro Sakurai introducing the Rareware heroes – the amount of care and attention that's gone into not just Banjo and Kazooie themselves, but also the characters and world surrounding them is pretty heart-warming to someone who counts the N64 original as their personal favourite video game, like, evs. It’s been a long wait but the bear and bird are back and I’ve got my fingers crossed that they’re the key that’s going to get me into Smash, too.
I also splashed out on a couple of those Nintendo Game Vouchers this week – I’m saving one for something down the road, but I redeemed the other last night and Astral Chain was waiting on my Switch this morning. I’ve heard very good things…

The days are getting shorter and the weather a bit colder, but I'm having a scorching good time with Astral Chain at the moment, so I'll be spending a good chunk of the weekend working my way through some cases.
If I get time, I may also start Final Fantasy VIII Remastered. It's a bit of a weird one for me as I never really got on with it as much as the other mainline entries in the series, but after 20 years, hopefully it'll strike a chord this time

After finishing my first playthrough of FE3H this week (LOVED it) I’m finally getting around to SMT Strange Journey Redux. I’m about 7 hours in and I’m really enjoying it so far.
I’m not very good at juggling multiple games but I’m also treating my eyes to Astral Chain when I get some telly time.
And both Banjo in Smash and the SNES games are distracting me too. I’ve dusted off my 8bitdo SF30 controller.
Astral Chain and some SNES.
Astral Chain, Messenger and Gungeon
@ollie reynolds.
Give FFVIII some time. I found when I first tried it on release I couldn't get in to it. About 13 or so year ago (feeling old now) i played through with a friend (did use a guide but then we wanted to get through this, VII and IX before I moved further away). We had an absolute blast getting all the secrets and playing through.
FF games IMO will never be the same now they dropped the turn based approach. I've always felt there was room for both action rpg and turn and didn't need that evolution from one to the other.
As for all the other games this weekend above. Totally agree!
Have a good one folks.
Pilotwings on the NSO SNES app (I got my silver licence just now), maybe some Tetris 99 Daily Missions (I want the Nintendo themes), CTR to get Spyro and if I fall victim to the hype, I might end up purchasing my first ever Smash Bros. DLC character - Banjo and Kazooie.
@Paullawr Excellent, I'll give it a good shot - have a great weekend!
Thought I'd quickly polish off Let's Go Pikachu before tucking into Fire Emblem Three Houses and Astral Chain - but hadn't realised quite how meaty it is. It's not at all challenging, but there is a surprising amount of game there. That said, I'm desperate to go back to Super Metroid - I've never played more than an hour or so on someone's else 3DS, so this is my first chance to play it myself.
Something Rhythm & Six Pack for this weekend.
1. Dance Dance Revolution Extreme 2 USA (PS2)

Started from beginning the Mission Mode to unlock Hidden songs.
2. Dance Dance Revolution Extreme USA (PS2)
Keep playing several times to unlock hidden songs.
Maybe i will pick The Sims 4 PS4 & Animal Boxing NDS for Six pack themed games. 😉
All some 16-bit Zelda from me, the rewind feature really helps a novice like myself
Between Astral Chain, Spyro, and all the SNES games, I've got my hands full. It's a good time for Switch. I hope I can complete some of this before Zelda and DQ XI drop.
After having a bad week being ill I have hardly got any gaming done at all but now after promising my moody boss I'll be back to work next week I need to seriously dig in to my gaming catalogue...starting with the Snes library..out of those twenty I have only played Zelda A Link To The Past which I'm sure is the best.
I'll also continue my adventure in Octopath which and some Yakuza Zero or Assassins Creed Odyssey on Ps4.
After owning kingdom battle for months and in need of something gently paced I decided to give it a go and I'm delighted I did
Gonna try to finish off Clannad. Also been playing a bit of Tetris 99 since the update.
Tokyo Mirage Sessions Switch reveal has me so happy that I'm going to be playing the Wii U original this weekend. Also, may squeeze in some Sonic Battle on GBA since I wanted to play that this past week.
Divinity original sin 2 for me. Been want to play this for ages, so pleased it’s now on Switch. Excellent port smooth gameplay and awesome graphics.
Doom classic on ultra violence (of course!), Leveling up satisfaction for all girls in doax3 and more fractured but whole.
@Anti-Matter awful picks bro
For me its Astral Chain, just on file 4 and loving it. I also just picked up Mortal Kombat 11 and I'm staggered how good and how well it runs on Switch and it's a great game to boot. Inbetween it'll be some SNES games and I have to start with the excellent Super Metroid
Mario Maker 2! Rocket League. Rise. Type:Rider.
and I am thinking of getting Spyro.
Happy gaming, everyone!
Going to make "big" progress in Fire Emblem: three house and some SNES games.
SNES, SNES, SNES! Surprised at how cluncky some of the 3D games are. Other than that, most likely some DQB2 and Ultimate Fishing. I did read an interesting user review on Civ6, might dust that one off and give it a go.
Going to do a play through Catherine full body as well as some super metroid
I’m planing on playing Let’s Go Pikachu, Diablo III & World of Warcraft.
I would play Astral Chain if I could, but it’s sold out everywhere and I want a physical copy, so maybe next weekend.
This week I will be mostly playing
Super Banjo Bros Ultimate
Breath of the Wild
Star Fox
Yoshi’s Island! ❤️
Disgaea 1 on Steam. Love this game
Paper mario ttyd finale and Tetris 99
So far I've been playing some Spyro and 2D Dauntless. . . Errr. . . I mean Kirby Clash on Switch and Destiny 2 on PS4, hoping to get play something with friends this weekend, otherwise I'll be busy being horrible but having fun on Overwatch and/or Paladins
I actually bought Just Dance 2018 on sale today and also getting back to Fitness Boxing, need to get some training. Otherwise I'm playing Astral Chain and Dragon Quest XI demo. Maybe some SNES too.
Finished my first run in FE3H (Black Eagles 65hrs) I'm now going back to do the church path before Ni No Kuni arrives in a couple if weeks. Reckon I will save the Blue Lions and Golden Deer for when the DLC is released.
While everyone else is enjoying Astral Chain, I finally caved in and bought a PS4 Pro to finally play Devil May Cry 5.
I recently beat Devil Hunter and had an absolute blast. I was worried that all the expectations that had been put on Itsuno along with the practical deityfication of the guy in light of the reboot's failings would be too unreasonable a task for him to live up to.
But I'll be damned, as someone who's been fantasizing about the potential of a true sequel ever since DMC4 was released, this totally exceeded my expectations and then some. I was trying to keep my hopes in check and was pretty much just hoping that Nero's co-stars would get their own levels and bosses this time around, but this... I need to beat the game on DMD before I can pass final judgement, but right now, it's up there with DMC3, my fourth favorite video game of all time.
I actually got quite a plethora of games for my birthday, so now I’m set for quite a while. Some games include:
...and a crap ton more!! I think I have officially become a retro games collector!
Additionally, SNES for Switch Online AND Banjo in Smash came out on my birthday, so y’all KNOW I’m playing those.
Everyone have a fantastic weekend! 😄
Astral chain, divinity original sin 2. Nes Nes Nes!, If chanced will play a little Supercell: Clash Royale.
Looks like we're going to get hit by Hurricane Dorian today, so gonna get my switch all charged up for when the power goes out. Then its gonna be a mix of Link to the Past and Super Metroid!
@kyleforrester87
What ?!
That was my choice. 🤨
I have interest with Dance Dance Revolution games, The Sims 4 & Animal Boxing NDS.
Maybe those titles you have never heard before nor even care about but for me they are very interesting games.
I'm completely hooked on divinity 2
Jet Force Gemini on the N64 for me. Enjoying having the N64 connected up to the TV. I will rescue all the tribals
I also need to start Astral Chain soon really, just keep putting it off....
For reasons I can’t fathom I am really wanting the SNES controller for the Switch so I can replay Super Metroid for the millionth time on what seems like the fiftieth device...
This weekend so far I've been playing Fire Emblem:Revelations as well as a bit of old-school River City Random (Street Gangs) and my latest purchase Steamworld Dig 2 and the DLC of Steamworld Heist. I was on the fence about the DLC for a long time (I'm usually never lured by them) but with so many good things about Steamworld Dig 2 I thought I'd bite the bullet and am enjoying every penny of the £5! 😁
Astral Chain - I'm only few hours in and it hasn't fully clicked yet but I'm still having a good time. I don't usually play this kind of games so I have to get used to the combat controls and options.
Yoshi's Island - After some Super Mario Kart yesterday, I decided to play some Yoshi's Island and I remembered once again why I love this game so much. I'm going to beat it for the millionth time and this time I'm also going for 100% which I'm not sure I've done before. First world is already done, including the extra level. Only deaths I had were in the extra level because unlike the level title says, Poochy can be stupid.
Tetris 99 - After the initial launch, I've only played Tetris whenever they have an event but the new update made me want to play some more. I like the new challenges, themes and "hard mode". I'm not that great at Tetris so it took me 20-30 tries to even reach top 20 in the mode which can only be accessed if you've reached first place in normal mode.
Other than that, I'll also be dappling in other SNES games and Pokémon Shuffle. I'll probably try out the new free-to-play Kirby game as well.
Like a true 90's baby i'll be playing Super Mario World and Super Mario Kart off the Switch SNES App. And maybe Gears 5 but mostly Mario
@Anti-Matter I’ll play those if you play Doom and Hotline Miami
Plugged in the Xbox One for the first time in a long time to play Gears 5. Nearly done with Act II and so far it's been awesome.
Astral Chain, FE3H, SMW.
All whilst trying to resist hopping on the eshop to buy Torchlight and River City Girls.
Gears 5 (now the servers are being nice) and SNES on bathroom breaks.
Playing Control on PS4 and Joe Dever’s Lone Wolf on the Swith
Divinity original sin 2 finally on switch, where I have a chance to finish it.
Astral Chain, which I’m finding ok but nothing special. Only about 2.5 hours in so hoping it improves dramatically when I unlock more Legions. As at the moment I’m finding the combat pretty dull
I just finished Astral Chain, but finally bought Mario & Rabbids Kingdom Battle with the DLC on sale which I'll probably boot up tonight. Other than that I might try out some of the SNES games like Star Fox or Mario Kart. Retro goodies never bore me!
OH! And I have to play some more of the new Daemon X Machina demo to decide whether to buy it or not.
Im playing a game called work unfortunately. But when i get home, Gears 5, A link to the past(snes switch) and maybe a bit of Metal gear solid 3 hd as its on game pass.
Astral chain
Dead!y premonition
Final fantasy 8
Bloodstained
Daemon X Machina demo
Probably ganking invaders in Dark Souls. Maybe a bit of Smash to unlock more spirits. And probably continue to finish Darksiders. Very pleasantly surprised by that game on the switch. But I won't play for long. Decided to cut the time on gaming and more time for real life.
I have Dragon Quest Builders II, Fire Emblem Three Houses, and Gears of War 5 available to me and so far, I've played ALTTP for about 4 hours and I'm loving it. I haven't played this game in years. It's such a masterpiece. It will be the same when those Dragon Quest NES games come out this year. I'll end dropping modern games for them lol.
@Luigi-number1 Imagine a shirtless Luigi, then you'll know haha
@Luigi-number1
Oh, yes. Definitely ! 😃
To see nice 3D six pack dudes from The Sims 4 or Muscular boxer, i feel so excited like i really wish i have body like that, contrary with my skinny body. (180 cm, 70 kg) 😳😣
Shirtless + Six pack + Handsome looking = Wow ! Awesome !! 😃😃😃
Add with Chibi form = OMG...!! So Cute and Sexy !! 😍😍😍
And that's why I gave my Chase McChain from LEGO CITY Undercover with Shirtless six pack skin for All 8 jobs. Running in the big city with six pack and shirtless was like Wheeee....!! 😆😆😆
I did the same thing with my Agent on MySims Agents DS. I drew a six pack pattern custom clothes, matched with his skin tone and he looked like being shirtless. 😏
I like to hunt muscular dudes from Harvest Moon games too, so Owen from Harvest Moon Tree of Tranquility was my husband (I played as Girl character). 😉
I started to create Shirtless six pack dudes for my Calendar projects every year since 2013. Every year i have to think about new concepts for my fictional boxers. And i have decorated my bedroom and my gaming devices with my Chibi Boxers creation. 😎
I have very strong interest with Boxing things, so i decorated my house with full sets of Boxing furnitures on Animal Crossing New Leaf 3DS. Also, i have managed to get All 10 Boy animal villagers on my town. 😉
And i will do the same thing again for my upcoming Switch game Dragon Quest Builders 2 Switch (Still waiting to be delivered). I will make Boy character, equip him with strongest armor as possible but i will give him for Fancy outfits (like on Miitopia and Portal Knights) : Shirtless on Top , Blue swimwear on bottom and some Masculine haircut to make him more handsome and Wheeee.....!! 😆😆😆
Oh, wait. I can be shirtless and six pack too on Miitopia and Tomodachi Life 3DS. 😘
Oppsie... Sorry for too much secrets about me. 🤭🤭🤭
smash, tetris 99, super Mario world, f zero, breath of the wild.
Started Super Mario World.
Finished the first playthrough of Fire Emblem Three Houses during this week, but don't want to let it go just now, so maybe will start another playthrough with a different house.
And Tetris 99. That mobile game mechanics of earning daily tickets/coupons sort of brought me back to it.
@Anti-Matter Is there any way you could stop spreading your obsessions on a gaming site? It is creepy.
@Anti-Matter LOL you do you my man! And in case that doesn’t translate well: don’t let the haters push their version of “normal” on you! 👍💪😸
FE3H. Spent 3 hours yesterday looking for the cemetery. I must be doing something wrong or is that why the campaign is reported to take up to 80 hours. 🙃
Having a blast switching play of Torchlight 2... SNES... Torchlight 2.... SNES...
Fire Emblem Three Houses and SNES.
Spyro! Waited so long to play this. Beat the first game this morning, excited to continue. Will also try out SNES at some point.
Minecraft and wii
Trying to finish a game of Civilization VI and then go back to Three Houses. Must resist urge to buy new games before finishing Three Houses.
Snes games and the witcher 3 (xbox1- just started. This game is huge, might be playing till christmas!)
Removed - harassment; user is banned
Stunt race fx! Haven’t played this for years. Couldn’t remember what it was called but as soon as I seen it knew!😱OMG THAT GAME I USED TO PLAY AT MY FRIENDS HOUSE 😍 aged well I think. Still fun.
@Zuljaras To be fair, he's being baited here.
I'm playing Majora's Mask 3D with a restoration mod that fixes many issues people had with the vanilla remake, and adds some new improvements as well, like switching arrow types with ZL a la Wind Waker. I'd suggest it for a news article here, because it's a really good mod so far, but 1: no one has uploaded a showcase video for the latest version, and 2: the moment NintendoLife reports on mods or certain fan projects, it usually follows with Nintendo issuing a Cease and Desist, and I don't want to be the guy credited at the bottom of that article.
@JasmineDragon hook, line and sinker you might say 😂 still, as @Luigi-number1 says, more power to him! I don’t think i’ll be popping round for a cup of tea myself, though 👀
@kyleforrester87 I do love tea but I’ll be scared of too many pictures of half naked 6 pack shirtless chibi dude kids. I’ll have nightmares for years
Mainly my ukulele partly due to my addiction to rimworld it's been neglected a little bit maybe when i need some downtime hop back into the rim
Game & Watch Gallery (GB) - Been passing the Game Boy around with the kids playing Octopus going for high scores.
Minecraft: New Nintendo 3DS Edition - Playing this with the kids feels very backwards compared to the more modern versions of the game on other systems.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified (Vita) - More TDM in my downtime this weekend.
Earthworm Jim HD (Windows Phone) - Gotten a tad better with the touch controls.
Asphalt 5 (Windows Phone) - This has gotten better.
Spyro Reignited Trilogy, Aragami, and Smash Ultimate (and possibly some Mario Kart 8 Deluxe) with some friends!
Playing Divinity Original Sin 2 on switch (very complex game, tips are welcome!), and enjoying the SNES games very much!!
seems like I’ll be playing astral chain then. Just got my copy of Fire Emblem, but seeing how everybody loves Astral C, how well it performs on the hardware considering its limitations (Digital Foundry video), and it being shorter (15h) than FE, i’ll start with it.
ACNL dailies + multiplayer fun (right as, well, I speak), SNES Online (eeeee!), Super Kirby Clash (singleplayer + multiplayer).
Maybe the usual Story of Seasons for singleplayer and Minecraft on Switch for multiplayer, too.
Have a nice weekend, everyone, and happy gaming!
Astral Chain on Switch
Wreckfest and Control on PS4.
Grandia, SNES and Yoshi's Crafted World
Demon Crest, Yoshi’s Island, and ... A Link to the Past again. Had to do it before Link’s Awakening arrives and because I’m having a sort of “Year of Zelda” where I go back and replay a lot of the old titles.
Ohh yeah! And there is this little game called Astral Chain that people are talking about. It’s a new game that isn’t 30 years old that I’ll continue playing 😉
I’ll be playing the DQ XI S demo this weekend - I’m 7 hours in, and still haven’t reached the cutoff point, so I’ll squeeze as much gameplay as I can out of it. I originally had no plans to pick the game up, but I’m now going to get it on release date, so the demo definitely achieved its purpose! Square demos seem to work like a charm with me, since I also had no intention of picking up Octopath Traveler and DQ Builders 2, and yet...ah, well, the more RPGs the better in my opinion!
I've never played undertale, notice it was on sale and with all the Sans hype in smash it really peaked my interested. Haven't brought it yet but I downloaded deltarune for free and I'm enjoying it so far. Also going to continue playing the gardens between & transistor. Also recently brought mana spark & xenon racer so going to play a bit of those 2 as well
Had a very unusual pass out at 10pm last night so I didn't play much yesterday. Tonight I'll continue my paythrough of astral chain, and some more snes games. The 1 game I'm determined to beat first, is super Metroid. Only played about 40 min of it so far. I'm sure I'll dabble in a few others here and there. I'm saving creature in the well until I finish astral chain.
I'm all into Astral Chain, and when I need a breather from that, I'm all about the SNES games. I found myself getting engrossed in Breath of Fire and having a surprisingly good time with Joe & Mac 2, the latter I never played before.
Nothing. I'm getting married lol.
Actually might play SNES on the honeymoon with her though
@nintendork64 Congratulations, dork. Been married 20 years. If you pick the right person, it's a good deal.
@nintendork64 congrats. Enjoy the day it literally flies by.
Waist deep in WoW Classic
My custom Gradius III "SA-1 enhanced" cartridge just came in, so I'll be playing that!
@DaWizerd I wanna play Classic so bad, but once you play WoW, theres no time for other games unfortunately, thats the case for me anyway.
Fire Emblem Three Houses, River City Girls, Super Smash Bros Ultimate, and Marvel Alliance 3.
@Anti-Matter 🧐🧐🧐🧐🧐🧐🧐🤐🤐🤐🤐🤐🤮🤮🤮
@JasmineDragon Now I saw that. People are probably aware by now that if you ask him such things a six-pack wall of text will appear
I have tons of games i’m playing this week.
I’m playing some Smash Ultimate with Banjo, some SNES Online games(focusing on Super Mario World for now.) A little bit of Super Kirby Clash, Batman Arkham Knight(first time playing it, and i’m loving it so far.)Darksiders 3, and some CTR Racing Nitro Fulled because of the Spyro tournament. I have lots to look forward too.
@kyleforrester87
Why awfull?
If he likes it, thats all that matters
For me astral chain, some marvel 3, and maybe smash
@DenDen no doubt, not for me though - game on
@JTTS No Man’s Sky is a game I’d LOVE to see hit Switch someday. I can dream!
Super Mario World and Super Mario Kart
@nintendork64 She’s a keeper! Gaming with a significant other is awesome! Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!
I will start and hopefully finish File 5 on Astral Chain.
Tetris 99,won my first Maximus in ages last night. I am only one ticket away from unlocking a theme so I'll be playing tonight's challenge to earn the ticket I need.
Yoshi's Island, started playing yesterday for the first time in years and time has been very kind to this legendary game.
1. Monster Hunter World: IceBorne (this is how you make an expansion)
2. Astral Chains
3. Ghost Recon BreakPoint Beta
4. CodeVein Demo
And indie games get lost in the shuffle compared to SNES games.
Finishing Batman Arkham Knight on PS4 and figuring out how Raspberry Pie + Retro Pie works.
1. Back to Alliance Alive (took a break to play a few other things).
2. Project X Zone (been really curious about this series and picked up both games on the 3ds cheap recently)
Finished Kirby Triple Deluxe and it's now one of my favourite 3DS games, amazing use of 3D. Just need to complete the extras. Also Wind Waker Wii U and maybe some Tetris 99. Need some SNES action too but there's not enough time.
Super Mario world, a link to the past, and super Mario odyssey
@wazlon
My daughter and I both love Triple Deluxe. Phenomenal game! Have you played Planet Robobot? It is pretty awesome too.
Pokémon Let' Go... I am still tackling all the master trainers. Raised every single pokémon to level 100 then started taking on the trainers, I believe I'm 3/4 of the way through them now. I can't wait to finish and move on to a new game...
I’m playing Rad on the Xbone, and sampling the Snes games on Nintendo Online.
@Mgene15 Your photo has just reminded me of the game. Hope the next round of games for SNES online includes Legend of Mystical Ninja. Konami certainly doesn’t look to be doing anything with it.
Smash Bros Ultimate to use Banjo Kazooie, Spyro Reignited Trilogy to beat Spyro The Dragon and some Final Fantasy VII.
@NotTelevision I’d be thrilled. Come on Konami get it together
Completed Mario World and can’t decide whether to move onto Super Metroid or ALTTP...
Also working my way slowly through Darksiders which is good but not fully hooking me for some reason
I sadly have to work today and tomorrow, but if I get the chance tonight, I’m going to play more Astral Chain and LoZ: A Link to the Past.
Been bisy eith Dragon Quest XI demo, and Dragonball Xenoverse 2 Lite is online, so gonna try that out! Ooh, and also playing Pillars of Eternity!
Astral Chain... if I can pull myself away from messing around with Banjo in Smash lol
The road to SSBU 100% completion just never ends. I keep getting distracted from it, but if I have time in between homework and a terrifying AP Chemistry test approaching, I might grind a few more spirits. Besides that, might continue playthrough #3 of BotW is my endless quest to 100% all the games I own, a task that is far harder than it seems.
I've gotta wait for my physical copy of River City Girls to come in. But it's a /very/ nice Limited Run Limited Edition version.
So, it's back to Dragon Quest Builders 2 this week, I guess!
I just picked up Astral Chain after someone on here recommended it (thanks whoever you were). I will also be dipping into the SNES sweetness.
Astral Chain and Daemon X Machina demo.
Astral Chain has my time this weekend, as do Yoshis Island and A Link to the Past...maybe some Tetris 99...so many choices...so little time.
SNES and Megaman X8 (MMXLC2)
This weekend I'll be playing Creature in the Well. If you love pinball and RPG action games, this game is right up your alley. I'm really loving it!
I adore Astral Chain! It's one of the best games I've ever played.
SNES games and Smash!!!!
Still playing my good ol' Stardew Valley and MK8D. Let's go!
@nintendork64 Congrats on tying the knot! I hope that you and your significant other have a wonderful honeymoon!
Better late than never to this article, right? XD
I've been giving my all to Dragon Quest IV the last couple of days after devoting most of this past week to finishing up SteamWorld Heist. I now believe I'm nearing the home stretch, but we'll see. I keep finding more to do in this game....This is supposed to be one of the shorter DQ games.
I also picked up Kirby's Adventure on the Wii U VC on a whim and intend to give this classic a first spin.
Finally, some of tomorrow (Sunday) will be devoted to playing some Pokemon Go.
Have a fun and blessed weekend!
I finished FFX today after about 40 hours. My favourite so far after playing VII and IX earlier this year. Seems like they’re getting better the more I play. I picked up VIII on release day and now about an hour into that. I gave X-2 a quick look but I think I’ll end up leaving that until much later.
Was considering Astral Chain but I’d like to finish a few more games first really.
Started the SNES games, started on the bottom left and will work my way through them all in order. Puyo Puyo 2 was the first one and I didn't think I would be playing it to long before moving on but I keep trying to get the special boss and falling short. Somehow I have played it far to late two nights in a row not realizing how late it was. I wish I knew Japan s b cause the characters are so wacky looking I want know what they are saying, oh well it's still fun. I think I will try one more time playing through on very hard and maybe that will help me meet the requirements of getting the special boss but if not perhaps I will move on. I still need to get back to Fire Emblem and Celeste.
Since I’ve finally finished Youngblood ( I got ~45 hours), I’ve gotten back into playing Celeste. This game is simply frustratingly addictive. I’m on chapter 7 now! I’m not sure if I’ll go back for all the strawberries/ b- sides yet since some of them are so hard to find/ get. I also did end up picking up Hellblade during a sale so I’ll be starting that soon. Maybe I’ll get in on some of that SNES action too. Try to tie up some loose ends before Zelda later this month.
Bayonetta 2. Down to the three last levels. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Tetris 99.
Picked up Doom and Astral Chain last week but fell back into Dead Cells and have now started Creatire in the well.
On Switch: A lot of Torchlight 2, a bit of Phantom Doctrine (which is actually quite good if you're into spy stuff and Xcom), and bit of Bulletstorm.
On PC: Gears 5 shall load, and in the meantime, a ton of solo thunt in Siege.
Currently playing through Spyro Reignited Trilogy.
I've gotten back into Picross a lil and I'm about to finally get a good start on the new Daemon x Machina demo. 👀
I’m enjoying the snes games I missed the first time around, but also DQ Builders 2.
SNES games all week long.
Gears 5 on XB1
Astral Chain and River City Girls on Switch.
Gears 5 on Xbone.
Fire Emblem Three Houses!!! How is that not on your poll? This game is AMAZING
Dragon quest demo. So far it's quite a game. And animal crossing new leaf at bed time.
Another dose of Zelda (and a bunch of shrines, especially after the Eventide epiphany that you don't have to FIGHT Hinoxes for the orbs they carry), a drop by Smash (where I unexpectedly got myself an Azura spirit at last - only the 12378th attempt and I still suspect dumb luck as Corrin seems to have stepped on something explosive at the stage's edge 😅) and I'm finally back to chapter 3 in Diabolical Box. Tinkering with SNES Online as well, already one cup into Mario Kart (somehow B button confirms all the stuff... was it always like this?).
On the PC front, it's currently the free Uplay+ month, so besides my Steam playthrough of FFXIII (the latest Direct, for all its merits, has decided to spare said playthrough as well) I also managed to check The Crew (mostly the matter of whether my Lifebook can run it at all). Tastes like a promising game, something I already expected after positive impressions from the sequel's PS4 beta way back when - but seeing as Uplay locks everything to Russian, I'll probably wait and see if it's sold somewhere with the original language package.
And yes, bracket footnotes are still the perrenial cancer of almost everything I write.💩🙄

@Guitar_bard Planet Robobot will be the next Kirby game I get, looks great with all the robots adding something fresh. Think I'll try a few different games before going back to another Kirby one though. Thanks for the recommendation.
Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1
This weekend has been all about the SNES app games, just having a blast playing through games from my childhood. I played some Pilotwings and Super Tennis last night, and playing Kirby's Dreamland 3 today.
Something with the SNES games seems wrong. Mario World in particular feels framey and suffers from slowdown. Also, the button layout with the normal controller feels bad.
Creature in the well😁
Super soccer on d snes app. Diego is the man for Argentina, no7
@Ichiyama @NintendoByNature @Tyranexx @Mamabear Thank you! The last week flew by. We actually did play some SNES when she wasn't hogging the Switch to play Fortnite lol
