I’ve only scratched the surface of DQ1 so far, so i didn’t vote yet. I’ve played these in their original NES form and the switch remakes (and some on my phone). Based on what I’ve seen so far I think this is going to be an 8 or 9 for me.
I had about 80 hours in but not sure how far I was. I think I was halfway through the dungeons but more than halfway through side stuff. Great game, I feel terrible leaving it unfinished but I don’t want to start over and it’s hard to pick up after years of being away.
Btw, side note- I always found it odd that Ted lasso doesn’t like tea- the southern portion of the United States (where he is supposed to be from) is known for it’s love of tea.
@BiscuitCrumbsInMyBed I don’t, I buy them from the local bakery. They have a variety of flavors though. Orange, chocolate chunk, white chocolate raspberry, apple and cinnamon. The tea I drink warm or iced depending on the season. My great grandmother was from the uk, I remember her putting milk in her tea but I haven’t done that since I was young (in the 80s). How do you prepare scones in the UK?
I love this kind of fun trivia. Also, you don’t have to be from the UK to love Tea and Scones….. I am from the states and those are two of my favorite things 😋
These were always my favorite games. When the wii was coming out I dreamed it would be like lightguns mixed with fps. I was sadly disappointed when I played red steel how clumsy it all was. The Occulus seems the best route for these games now, I played a shooter on there that made me feel like I was at an actual range.
That sounds on brand. Considering Kotaku’s rather scathing headlines about Activision and demanding Kotick step down I am unsurprised by the attempt. I would have been very surprised had it been successful.
“ We will not tolerate hateful activity” says the developers of a game where you literally cut off people’s faces and wear them as a mask. No that I have anything against making this type of game, it just seems ironic.
This was one of the first games I played on my series x oddly enough. I have been playing Tetris since the original and I was surprised by how much this drew me back in. Wonderful game.
I love this, put a bounty on remaking classic games and let the cream float to the top. It’s basically the opposite of these other companies and their mod takedowns.
GBA was one of my favorite consoles. I bought my first one in April of 2001 in Singapore while deployed before the were out in the states. I spent every chance I got playing f-zero, earthworm Jim and pitfall in the Kuwaiti and Saudi Arabian deserts. Later on I upgraded to the superior GBA SP and it was a constant companion. I played through the LOZ classics on it and the final fantasy dawn of souls. I would love to see Golden Sun and the classic breath of fire games show up on NSO.
I have to admit, this is pretty disappointing. I would rather have a tv-only pro version of the Switch that I could plug into my 65 inch oled. I rarely play mine in handheld mode and my wireless ac router is competent enough to handle Splatoon 2.
I feel the same way about Mario after his 35th anniversary that I did after his 25th... Happy for him but sad Nintendo chose to overlook Link’s anniversary.
So very very sad this never happened. I feel like the smb game and watch didn’t sell very well though since I see them piled up at retail stores everywhere.
I played the 1st Legend of Zelda when I was 5 and was in love. Hands down it remains one of my favorite games, I’ve replayed it dozens of times. As much as I enjoy Mario, I have always preferred Zelda, so it makes me sad Nintendo is so quiet on its 35th anniversary. I would love a LoZ game and watch like the Mario they put out last year.
I loved crazy taxi, but I loved the Simpsons Road Rage knock off even better. I would love to see a remake of that. In the interim I will be scooping this up.
Great, they not only nerfed the tarantula but they increased the water bugs and reduced the interest rate. It’s like they are asking people to time travel.
This game is hot garbage. I was excited to play it on my iPhone when it launched, only to find it was full of pay to progress micro transactions. I will stick with the far superior Skyrim until Elder Scrolls 6 rolls out.
I’ve learned through trial and error which cross platform games to get on which system. If they were all equal I would buy every game on Switch, because I get to play it so much more. I tried doom and wolfenstein and it was too slow, and doom I honestly had trouble navigating the levels because I couldn’t tell what certain items were in the environment. Skyrim and DQ11 are fantastic on Switch, and I don’t feel like I’m missing much. I just started the Witcher 3 on Switch, compared to my Xbox one X it looks very blurry, but having to the abiltiy to play such a massive game at my convenience may be well worth it.

Re: Square Enix's Dragon Quest Series Has Now Sold Over 88 Million Units Worldwide
I’ve played all the mainline games and the builders games. I got Dragon Warrior free with my Nintendo Power renewal one year.
Re: Nintendo Expands Switch Online's GBA Library Next Week With Fire Emblem
Awesome! Fire emblem is a great game, I was a bit disappointed with all the Marios (kind of redundant).
Re: Poll: Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp Is Out Today, Will You Be Getting it?
I was going to buy this day one but just spent a ton on a new roof this week. I’ll wait a few weeks until I refill some savings.
Re: Talking Point: Which Other Mega Man Games Could Come To Switch?
Man do I love mega man. I need to dig into some of the deep cuts here, all I have played are the Nes games and the first X.
Re: GameStop Fires Employee For Leaking Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Switch
Nintendo does not mess around. As far as ruining a career….. I don’t know how much longer GameStop will be around anyway.
Re: Dragon Quest XII: The Flames Of Fate Logo Gets A Minor Update
Ugh, I love DQ so much, but they are worse than Rockstar at announcing games wayyyyyyy before release.
Re: Hands On: Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp - Slicker, Shinier, Sassier Strategy
I haven’t purchased a new game for my Switch in a while. Advanced wars will break that streak- this was one of my favorite GBA games.
Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For The Super Mario Bros. Movie, And They're All Over The Place
@Colonel_Mustache agreed. Movie reviews are 100% opinion. Unlike game or product reviews which take into account the mechanical aspect of the subject.
Re: Bowser Defends $70 Zelda Pricing, Nintendo Still "Very Bullish" About Switch
I spent $80 of my birthday money on Commando for the NES in 1989. This is a much better value
Re: Atomic Heart
I love that you have a power glove 🥊

Re: Random: Donkey Kong's Birthplace Indicates He May Enjoy A Spot Of Tea
@BiscuitCrumbsInMyBed Had to google clotted cream (looks like our cream cheese). Sounds delicious though 😋

Re: Mario Kart 9 Is "In Active Development" And Comes With A "New Twist", Analyst Claims
Duh…. I think there is always a new Mario kart, Mario Bros, and Zelda game in development.

Re: Talking Point: Should The Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack Library Expand Faster?
This is exactly why I didn’t upgrade to the expansion pack. The nes and snes updates were very sporadic and mostly disappointing.
Re: Get Serious About Fun With A Nintendo Of America Internship In 2022
Not all internships are unpaid. This does not specify.
Re: Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack Release Date And Pricing Revealed
🤣😂🤣😂 nope! I may just let my nso lapse altogether. The only thing I kept it for was splatoon and the super nes/nes games and I rarely play them.

Re: Talking Point: If Nintendo Switch Online Adds Game Boy, Why Not Throw In GBA, Too?
@huyi I wish I had hung on to mine. Sadly I am bad at keeping old systems laying around. I would have quite the collection if I did.

Re: Review: The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD - A Remaster That Truly Soars
I feel compelled to buy this. I had traded in my wii before it came out and so this is the only Zelda In 35 years that I have never played.
Re: Random: We Sure Hope This Game & Watch Mock-Up Is What Nintendo Has Planned For Zelda's 35th Next Year
@Castmovie987565 I know! I preordered it the day I found out

Yes, yes, yes, yes!!!!!!!!

I remember this commercial! I never would have realized Paul Rudd was the actor if not for this article though.
Re: Talking Point: Which Old Game Series Would You Like To See Revived?
F-Zero 100%. It’s beyond past due, and it would look great in HD.

Great list, I agree with the top 10 100%.

Re: Atari Has Looked To Nintendo For Inspiration With Its New VCS Console
@BanjoPickles my thoughts exactly. When you bring up price and how people want better value, you better have a low price and something of value.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (May 30th)
I voted for Animal Crossing, but also I am playing my other island life sim Stranded Deep on Mac.
