Re: Castlevania Netflix Producer Thinks Pokémon Could "Absolutely" Explore More Adult Themes

LexKitteh

I would love to see darker and more mature themes. Some things like this have been covered in the Pokemon Special (Pokemon Adventures in Eng) manga, with character deaths and parental abuse, most of which was censored out of the English version. A world where anyone can control powerful beasts and have immense power at their control could be very dark indeed, especially when some of them have mind control powers ,etc.. I would love to see a well written story covering more of the darker elements. Also, have you guys read the official Pokedex entries on Mega Evolution?? That's already very dark! The games and show acts like "your friendship with the Pokemon draws out it's full potential!" But no.. many of the entries explain how the Pokemon is in intense pain maintaining this form, and feels betrayed by it's trainer for putting them through such agony, and they lose all sense of self and become frightened killing machines. It's not all joy and rainbows! Read up on it!! Pokemon is more than the show with Ash which has no plot or character development whatsoever. That world has so much potential to explore!!

Re: Random: Bandai Namco Thinks Pokémon's New Legendary Looks Pretty Familiar

LexKitteh

I don't see why people think Pokemon is "copying" Dark Souls. I'm sure both creatures are based on creatures from folktales or other Japanese/Asian mythology, just like nearly all the Pokemon are. These folktales are just not widely known in the West. They are likely all copying from the same source, every single RPG does when designing monsters

Re: Game Freak Is Trying To Create Something "More Exciting Than Pokémon"

LexKitteh

This isn't what people want to hear. In general, I think its a good idea that the company keeps fresh with various projects and tries to keep from burning out or losing their passion.. But if they expect to find success by prioritizing a brand new IP when Pokemon is at another peak in popularity, its just going to disappoint themselves and their existing fans. I am sure after 20+ years there is some burnout, but Pokemon as a brand is reaching an enormous audience between GO and the theatrical release, they shouldn't squander this opportunity. Plus the main series games are the height of the franchise, if the quality dips there, there isn't much left for a satisfying game experience..

Re: Final Fantasy VII Switch Update Finally Fixes That Annoying Music Bug

LexKitteh

Finally. Now they need to fix the same bug in FF IX, and patch in an option to disable the horrendous multiplayer music in Chocobo's Mystery Dungeon: Every Buddy. Its so obnoxious that the most anticipated feature for me, co op, is not worth playing. The game has beautiful music, but this multiplayer music that takes over whatever song is playing is so obnoxious its aggravating to me. Makes it so you cant enjoy the game's soundtrack because you just hear ONE SONG FOREVER.

Re: Here's How To Reserve Your Pokémon GO Username For Harry Potter: Wizards Unite

LexKitteh

If Pokemon Go wasn't Pokemon, I would have bailed on the game LONG ago. This game has cause me more frustration than any other, with the constant bugs. The dodge glitch has been in the game since the beginning and still causes problems in raid battles! And as a recent example, they just rolled out the new "Lucky Friends" feature where you are "guaranteed" a Lucky trade with friends who reach this status. Except people are reporting trading their best mons and them not turning Lucky! Every new feature rolls out broken and causes players to waste resources they've been saving up. Not to mention their support always provides incorrect and conflicting information.

We'll have to see if the Harry Potter brand is strong enough for people to put up with the constant issues this game will surely have.

Re: Rumour: PlatinumGames' Scalebound Is Being Revived As a Nintendo Switch Exclusive

LexKitteh

I would love this to be true..! But I thought Microsoft funded the development of this game as an Xbox One exclusive.. I doubt they would allow the results of their investment to be used on a competitor's platform.. Also, the graphics on this game were very impressive, I unfortunately don't think it would have the same visual impact on the Switch. This was the one game I considered buying an Xbox One for!

Re: Video: Here's How The Elite Four Stack Up In Pokémon: Let's Go

LexKitteh

I have been lukewarm about this game with all the gameplay changes, but I am stoked at seeing Red, Green and Blue appear..! I know some people feel this is spoilery, but this is what I needed to feel interested in this game again I was upset thinking that new friendly rival had retconned Green away, but he still exists! I don't have a reason to be upset with him any more. Also cool to think these new trainers are following in the footsteps of their seniors from pallet!

Re: Review: The World Ends With You: Final Remix - A Stylish Reimagining Of The DS Cult Classic

LexKitteh

@Dualmask Sure! I have been reading reviews all day, and I do want to clarify what I've learned. I haven't gotten home to play my own copy just yet.

It looks like you can move Neku on the overworld using the control stick, but in battle, you are still limited to pointer controls. I have read that instead of clicking and dragging Neku to move him, you can point and click with a secondary button to move him to that location. So, you still can't use the control stick to move during battles, but they did make a slight improvement.

Re: Review: The World Ends With You: Final Remix - A Stylish Reimagining Of The DS Cult Classic

LexKitteh

I ordered this because I am a huge fan of the game, but severely disappointed by the lack of control options.. Very obviously an iOS port, as you must point and click at the screen, instead of even using the control stick to move your character around. The original DS version allowed this, so the controls are actually even more limited than the original. Not to mention the fun and frantic means of controlling both characters. When this game was announced, I seriously thought one joy-con would be used as pointer controls w/control stick to move Neku and use his Psychs, while the other joy-con would have its directional buttons used to control your partner's actions, similar to the DS original. This could have easily been implemented or been an alternative control scheme, but as usual with Square-Enix ports, they charge full price while doing minimal work, hoping people will buy it on brand alone, and whether or not the game is enjoyable seems irrelevant to them..

Re: New Trailers Reveal How To Catch The Mythical Pokémon Meltan And Tease A New Evolution

LexKitteh

@DanteSolablood Thanks for the reply! Yeah, I understand where you're coming from, and would understand if they intentionally keep the graphics simple for this game. But I am worried they will not step it up when Gen 8 launches, and I feel they really need to.. They can keep the overall gameplay the same as previous games, no need to fix what isn't broken, but should really take this chance to improve the graphics and presentation and show how great the series can look!!

Re: A New Set Of Let's Go Pikachu And Eevee Videos Showcase Different Pokémon Battle Animations

LexKitteh

@nessisonett The move was Sky Attack, called "God Bird" in the Japanese. But the complaint still stands that moves that should cause the Pokemon to move around the field have cheap animations while the Pokemon stands in place. I understand in previous games, with 800 different mons, making all the animations can seem daunting, but they only have the first 151 here. They could have worked on animating these properly and used that work moving forward in the series.

Re: A New Set Of Let's Go Pikachu And Eevee Videos Showcase Different Pokémon Battle Animations

LexKitteh

Animations are pretty disappointing to me. We shouldn't be satisfied with it being the same as it ever was but in higher resolution. In the clip with Pidgeot and Gloom, Pidgeots 2-turn fly-style move just had wings appear and fly off the screen, and then they flew back down and attacked gloom as pidgeot just sat in place. Why couldnt it have been pidgeot himself that flew above the field and attacked on the 2nd turn? There are no longer hardware limitations, this is just super lazy animating.. Disappointing.

Re: Review: 20XX (Switch eShop)

LexKitteh

I was put-off by the low-quality art and character design at first, but recently played through this with a friend, great Mega Man X-style gameplay with Co-op that works really well!! Will likely pick this up on Switch! Just get a new artist for the sequel!

Re: Yo-Kai Watch 4 Coming To The Nintendo Switch This Year In Japan

LexKitteh

Good news! Yo-kai Watch has forced Pokemon to improve their presentation. After Yo-Kai watch blew up, when Sun and Moon released, they finally did away with the chibi look in the overworld. If Yo-Kai watch on Switch has good graphics or presentation, Pokemon will be forced to do better. More competition is a good thing!

Re: Funimation Really Wants Goku To Join The Roster In Super Smash Bros

LexKitteh

As others have said, yes Goku and Dragon Ball have had many many game appearances, but I feel Smash Bros is a culmination of game characters and franchises coming together. Characters that originate from anime, cartoons or other TV shows don't fit the bill for me. What would be next, Batman or Marvel characters? Franchises that are already represented in every type of media and don't originate as a video game shouldn't be celebrated in Smash Bros, in my opinion.

Re: WarioWare Gold Is Bringing Minigame Madness To 3DS This August

LexKitteh

I hope they release a new entry for Switch that is as innovative and fun as the Wii entry, Smooth Moves, but using the Joy-Cons. The motion is vastly improved from the Wii remote, and could have some seriously unique and exciting control methods. 1-2 switch demonstrated some unique ideas, but adding the wackiness of the Wario brand and including much more content could be a hit, in my opinion. great way to demonstrate the uniqueness of the system.

Re: GameCube Classic Luigi's Mansion Rises From The Grave On 3DS This Year

LexKitteh

One of the reasons I enjoyed the original, besides the creepy yet goofy atmosphere, was how they used the dual analog controls to aim the poltergust and capture the ghosts. you'd start to suck them in, and use the c-stick to pull the windstream in different directions to capture the ghosts. I don't see how this will work on 3DS unless it uses the New 3DS nub. I'm not sure this will be as fun as the original, in my opinion. I love the idea of this game in 3D though.

that was one of the reasons I didn't enjoy Dark Moon, the gameplay was simplified too much to keep me interested.

Re: Talking Point: An Era Ends As Nintendo Continues to Ignore 3D on the 3DS

LexKitteh

I have been a huge fan of the unique auto-stereoscopic 3D feature of the 3DS and have been extremely disappointed that Nintendo has been dropping support. I also wish more gamers got to experience 3D on the New 3DS model, that is where they finally perfected it, but many users already had a 3DS or had already dismissed the concept (due to poor implementation on previous 3DS models). I am very saddened to see glasses-free 3D support in video games die with this system!! I have had each 3DS model since the beginning and never suffered headaches or the other reasons people list for not wanting to experience 3D. Hopefully when Nintendo fully drops support, homebrew will keep 3D in gaming alive!!
