Re: International Game Developers Association Issues Critical Statement Over Nintendo and Alison Rapp

LexKitteh

@Yorumi @Jazzer94
I was simply expressing agreement with IGDA's statement, the topic of this article. I agree there are many, many factors to this issue, and its difficult to weed out the truth from misinformation/hate and smear campaigns. I do unfortunately believe that her gender is an issue for some of those leading the hate groups. I wish we could move past this as a society but the internet makes it very easy to express hate and get that mob mentality going.

Also, I didn't bring up the subject of her gender, the article did, as it is an article about IGDA's statement, which directly mentions her gender being one of their perceived reasons for the online hate.

Anyway, I don't want to instigate conflict or make anyone pick sides, just wish as a whole this was handled better.

Its still so surprising that 'gamers' feel so threatened by women in the gaming industry. She was simply scapegoated about something that had nothing to do with her (censorship in FE and XCX), and Nintendo of America made the WRONG decision in giving in to the immature hate and outrage. It feels more like they used that 2nd job as an excuse to end the bad PR, but don't they realize they're just encouraging this behavior? The hate groups who had been blackmailing and threatening her got exactly what they wanted. Enjoy the future you're setting up for yourself, NOA...

Re: Pokémon Go Field Test is Underway in Japan, Though Leakers Are Getting Removed

LexKitteh

People are letting some vague tweets completely influence their opinion on something none of us have seen in action yet. I haven't been overly optimistic on this either, but lets not all decide we hate it before we have actually seen much if it. Plus, they are probably doing this type of test to incorporate feedback and improve the experience. People need to stop taking random opinions being tweeted as 100% fact.

Re: Feature: Looking Back at the New 3DS Launch, Nintendo's Perfect Valentine's Day Gift

LexKitteh

I love my New 3DS XL. I would have preferred the blue version though, but I i guess not in NA. Also wish they would have upgraded the camera resolution, it's novelty has worn off and is irrelevant compared to today's cameras. I never had much problem with the 3D, but I love the face tracking. Always keep the 3D up all the way, like before. Hope Nintendo keeps 3D as an option beyond 3DS.

Re: Pokémon's Ash And Gary Are Getting The Nendoroid Treatment

LexKitteh

The reason people care so much about the names, is because Red & Ash, and Green & Gary are separate characters, with separate goals and accomplishments. Ash and Gary are based on the designs of Red and Green from the games, and therefore look similar, but the show is is a different continuity. Red actually conquered the Pokemon League, became Champion, and dismantled Team Rocket, while I don't believe Ash has done any of that. In Gold/Silver, Green ended up becoming the Gym Leader of Viridian City after Red drove Giovanni out, while in the show, Gary never attained Gym Leader status. In general, Ash is on a never-ending journey and will seemingly never accomplish his dreams, so the show can last forever, while Red has more or less been strong enough to do so in the first game.

TL;DR
Red > Ash, Green > Gary
Because they decided the show should go on forever and have no progression. Ash is still described as being 10 years old after 900+ episodes!

Re: A Major Pokkén Tournament Announcement is Coming on 10th December

So, the Japanese hint says the new Pokemon's name begins with "So".. I am betting on Sonansu (Wobuffet). Its fairly popular and its countering style could be interesting. I wonder what other popular Japanese Pokemon names beginning with "So" it could be? :3

Edit: Actually, taking a closer look it may be an "n" instead of a "so". They are written very similarly in Katakana. And it may say the name contains it rather than beginning with it. There's only two Pokemon that begin with So in Japanese, so that clue would be too specific.

Re: Zelda Fans Vent Anger At Nintendo of America Over Doge Memes In Tri Force Heroes

LexKitteh

I was pretty annoyed at the labeling of the Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water being called the 'spoopy' trailer. I don't get the meme and I don't care, some people at NOA shouldn't be able to undermine the hard work the actual developers have gone through, just to make some bad joke. A game like Fatal Frame puts so much effort in presenting and maintaining its setting, and it feels disrespectful some random person at NOA decided to ruin that immersion with a lame joke in the official trailer. As for this game, Tri-Force Heroes seems more playful and less meant to be taken seriously, so I don't see it as much of a problem, but the usage of the meme doesn't make any sense here either. You're not being trendy NoA, you're being obnoxious.

Re: Talking Point: The Time Is Right For A Nintendo Phone

LexKitteh

I would like to support the idea of a Nintendo phone, but realistically, theyd have to either make it an Android device, which would make it easy for people to pirate the Nintendo software to use on other phones, or create their own phone OS. Considering how laggy the Wii U and even 3DS OSs are, I don't think itd end up being that convenient to use..

Re: Review: Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth (3DS)

LexKitteh

As B3ND3R just mentioned, I also noticed the banner image for this article is fan art, and shows characters from Persona 1 and 2 which are actually NOT in this game at all. May have been an easy mistake, but can be misleading about the content in the game..

Re: Hyrule Warriors Downloadable Costume Sets Feature Twilight Princess Outfits for Link and Zelda

LexKitteh

@ThomasBW84 I appreciate the shout-out! I'm happy to contribute in any way I can, however small it is.

As for the DLC, it looks amazing! When I first thought of Playable Zelda, her Twilight Princess design came to mind. I feel we didn't see her do a whole lot in Twilight Princess, so I'm glad we can see her fight with that awesome design as well!
Also really excited for Zant!! I assume he'll be made playable at some point in the game too, maybe after the main story. (Still hoping for Tingle to show up.. XD)

Re: Pikmin 3 Update Adds New Stylus Control Style

LexKitteh

@bezerker99 The original control scheme with the Wii Remote + Nunchuck is great; very accurate and works well on the TV, but if you prefer game-pad only play, that's when you see how the Dual analog control isn't so great. And I did double-check, there is no Left-Handed option. The right stick always moves the camera, so you need your left hand to move your character. >_<
