@Zaruboggan I would say mostly fixed aside from the load times! They're still kind of long. I don't mind, but it's weird considering the GCN is like instant loading lol. The overworld and battles run at a smooth fps now though compared to footage I've seen of how the game used to run. From what I heard a major issue of Colettes wings causing slowdown has been fixed, but I'm not far enough yet to see it myself.
I'd say it's a solid version to play now but I'd still wait for a sale. It really should've released like this and not taken 3 patches to fix a GCN game
I picked up Symphonia on switch after hearing about the 1.3 patch, also got the Pokemon DLC despite wanting to wait until part 2 was out. Enjoying both so far I'm really glad bandai didn't abandon the Symphonia port. Also playing through the Sonic Frontiers Final Horizons update.
This has always been one of my favorite Kirby games because of the exploration, and I've only ever gotten to play it solo. Can't wait to finally be able to play with my friends thanks to online!
Fine. Okay. I'll just be broke this year. That's okay. I'll be getting this day 1. MASSIVE step up from 6 just from the demo alone. Thanks for the review!
@panthro If the tool company you bought tools from years ago started charging you a fee every time you or someone in your family used them you'd be singing a different tune dude.
This is sad and a little concerning for the future of Platinum, but I do think Takahisa Taura's work as director on Astral Chain was really good, so i wouldn't mind him helming projects from now on in Kamiya's absence.
I've always wanted to play this so I will pick it up eventually, but holy smokes this year has been so crammed with releases for me that I don't know where to even fit anything I want to play anymore.
I have the steelbooks for CS1&2, and I see they are keeping up with the gorgeous steelbooks for the series! I already own the Asian release of this game on steam but I'll double dip for that steelbook alone.
Easy day one for me huge Kiseki fan but wanted to make sure it ran alright on switch. I would normally assume so given it's a PSP game but you never know these days. Thanks for the review
@MARl0 I played through FF1 and 4 so far on switch and haven't noticed any stuttering issues but I'll pay attention the next time I turn one of them on.
Just started playing myself and I gotta say. I instantly like this a whole lot more than that Chained Echoes that came out. It felt like it was copying the old classics instead of paying homage to them and doing his own thing with the game. Sea of Stars however it instantly feels like it's own thing while paying homage to the classics. Also gotta say I love the mario & luigi style button presses for skills. I knew this would be good as soon as I learned it's from the same studio as The Messenger.
@TruthisRare Goes to show that the game can be ran at 60fps on modified overclocked hardware sure. Now let's see how long the game can run an overclocked switch without issues. I don't want R* or any developer for that matter turning my switch into a thermal reactor just so I can feel like I got a bit more value out of a port.
This is sad news but it was inevitable. Charles will always be Mario and the others to me, thanks for contributing to so many amazing games over the years
One of the best ports on the system, and I've been dreaming of this game one day coming to switch since 2017. With how terrible the GTA trilogy remaster was, I was worried this would be 'remastered' too, but nope. It may be simple but it's an effective port.
Was debating on picking this up or waiting for a sale. Ended up picking it up and am very happy with it. The TLC in my opinion is that they got this game looking and running well on the switch. RDR really didn't need any other additions.
I'm personally out of the age range to have experienced it myself (29) but weren't people calling every FPS that came out after Wolfenstein/Doom a Doom clone back in the day? This is really nothing new.
@Rosona Yep. Ys IX was all around too much for their Walmart giftcard budget to handle. Still a great game though. Been playing Reverie on PS5 and it's smooth as butter.
I've tried this game on like, every platform possible and was never able to get into it and I can never pinpoint why. I even bought the switch version and was impressed by how well it looked on switch and ran performance wise. I think I'll boot this one up again soon and give it another try.
If I'm not being greedy, I'd just ask for Phantasy Star. If I'm being a greedy goblin on the other hand I'll ask for:
Phantasy Star
Skies of Arcadia
I don't care if it's not a classic give me a new Valkyria Chronicles Sega
Remasters/Remakes of SMT 1 & 2 since Sega owns Atlus now
Crazy Taxi
Please stop ignoring your RPGs Sega! PSO2 NGS is not the answer!
I'm a huge Falcom fan but their 3D games like cold steel and Ys 9 have always had performance issues on switch. Will be picking this up on PS5 but thanks for the review regardless!
My favorite series. 3 is my favorite with 2 practically walking side by side with it. Amazing games. Only one that is disappointing is 5. God that camera made me nauseous.
Love these games and anything inti creates pretty much. Hope to see a future Gunvolt game, but I'm looking forward to whatever they're cooking up next.
I'm so glad the game is good on switch I was worried the open zones would have bad performance.
I'll also throw my hat into the voice acting thing as someone whos the polar opposite and say I hate English voice acting for Japanese games, so if Atelier never gets English VA I wouldn't blink an eye. I've only ever played JP games and watched anime subtitles with their original JP audio since the 2000s when games started to actually include the JP audio with them, and actually returned games (Tales of Xillia is a good example) because I couldn't stand the English voices in them for more than 10 minutes.
Yes I don't mind. The cost of game development is way higher than it was back in the day, and that's not even accounting for inflation. The fact they've held onto the $60 price tag for so long is impressive.
I didn't like Three Houses much, mainly due to the school setting for half the game feeling like an absolute drag. I do not care about school lectures in a SRPG, but the actual gameplay was as good as any other FE. At least it didnt have the awkward dating mechanics of Fates lol. Engage is looking way more promising for what I'm looking for in a FE game.
@RushDawg Totally fair to be upset about the physical version. I agree with that.
@msvt What does only having one console have to do with the pricing? Some people only use steam and the games are still $75 total. If they were exclusive to ps5 they would still be $75. This is Squeenix we are talking about here. They will squeeze any penny possible.

@JokerCK It's not even just trolling. It's spam at this point because it's almost word for word the same thing every single article.
Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl - Duel: Sea Of Stars
The Japanese one for sure but both are pretty. I just prefer the casting call style of box art for JRPGs.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (September 2nd)
Sea of Stars and Starfield for myself, and some Factorio with the boys. Can't get any better than that 😁
Re: Poll: Mario & Sonic Face Off On Switch This October - Whose Corner Are You In?
Both and it isn't even a question for me. Loved both franchises since I was a kid and will never stop

One of the best 'Eurojank' RPGs ever made. Gothic is simply legendary and was overshadowed by Morrowind's marketing which is a true shame.
