We've known the price of these for a while now as they are all released on steam. The bundle on there is $75 as well so why are people pretending the pricing is some brand new shock?
An 8.5 for me. This is the best pokemon ive played in a long time aside from ultra sun. They need to fix the performance issues and polish the game up in general with patches though. Clearly rushed out the door for the holiday season. A real shame too, I hope this game can reach its full potential.
The harsh reality is that while pokemon may be the highest grossing media franchise in the world, gamefreak is not. They caught the biggest lightning in a bottle with gen 1 and as the years have gone on they have proven time and time again to not be the most competent studio in the business. They're a AA studio making AAA games, and it's clear the pokemon company gives GF the bare minimum to work with anyway.
It's a merch first game second situation. It also doesn't help that GF only has around...160 employees? They need to hire some more talent. Still enjoying the game technical issues aside. Skyrim is one of the buggiest unpolished games ever (as all bethesda products are) and it's one of the most universally acclaimed games ever made.
I was going to pick the croc, until I saw the final evos and ended up swapping my pick to duck, but it was definitely an internal battle between the two.
I'm starting to wonder how Pokemon Arceus managed to get away with a 9 when it looks about equal to this game on the switch, and they both look like they had random assets dropped on a map. I know its different reviewers and all that, but I still find it funny. To be fair though I enjoy both this and Arceus so this is just another reason why reviews are to be taken as a soft baseline of what to expect. No disrespect to the reviewer, different strokes and all that.
All I care about is performance not graphics, and the switch version seems to run fine enough so I'll be getting it on switch. Handheld always wins for me unless the performance is slideshow tier
@InJeffable What career? Taylor hasn't worked in 7-8 years, and her only notable role in...anything is Bayo herself. She thought being Bayo's voice had more value than it actually has, and wanted more money because of it.
https://mobile.twitter.com/jasonschreier/status/1582439093677723648 This is some very interesting information that Hellena decided to leave out. Why did she make it out to be like she was only getting paid $4k in total when it's been documented and viewed as being $4k per session with a total of 5 sessions?
Things like this are one of the many reasons why I rarely ever touch online games. What's next, I'm going to have to get my eyeball scanned and a background check done to see if I'm allowed to play the game?
@Ulysses The fact that it's local co-op is awesome! It's rare to find local co-op games these days and even rarer for them to be RPGs. From the footage it looks like they took all the things that made Secret of Mana great and modernized it
This looks awesome and I'm really looking forward to it if there's a western release. Not every game needs to reinvent the wheel and there's so many RPGs now that try really experimental and "innovative" things that just aren't to my taste.
I love classic RPGs that are of swords and magic, heroes and kingdoms. Leveling up and buying new equipment from shops or finding them in dungeons. Heck, throw a little splash of sci-fi in the late game and its a chef's kiss from me.
Amazing games. Easily in my top 5 favorite game series, though it boggles me a little that they're releasing the Crossbell games before Sky, and that there's still no Cold Steel 1 & 2 on switch. Though with Kondo just talking about releasing more of their games on switch I suppose it's only a matter of time.
Still, I feel like this alienates a lot of the potential switch players as it's harder to get into the series from later entries. Starting with say Cold Steel 1 is fine, but Cold Steel 3? You're missing hundreds of hours of story by starting with 3.
I'm excited to play S3&K on switch, but I'm going to wait until I get a confirmation on how they handled the music for the game. I want to play with the genesis music and iirc (could be wrong) but didn't the steam version change a lot of the music? Either way if the music is altered I'll just stick to Sonic 3 A.I.R.
Super late to the party but finally got around to buying Link's Awakening and wow what a great remake so far. The game is beautiful especially on the OLED screen and the game is just a ton of fun to play. I still have to beat Kirby FL (not Florida) but Link's Awakening has my full attention.
Instant buy for me. Absolutely love dungeon crawlers and anything made by Hiroyuki Ito immediately grabs my attention. The character designs look great, the music is awesome, and the tile graphics are very interesting. Reminds me of ASCII roguelikes in a way. Hoping its good!

For now, Kirby or Rune Factory, but I know it'll get toppled over by Xenoblade 3 once that's released.

Is this just whether I'd choose the red or blue tunic from Link's Awakening? Seems like a bait tweet to me.
